Synopsis: Ayana and Ikiko have a rooftop dance of their own.
Cast of Characters: Ayana, Ikiko Hisakata

Ayana has posed:
Not everyone can afford big expensive charity balls. Not everyone has fancy dresses, fine suits, or huge amounts of money to spare.

Sometimes, all you've got is a tinny-speakered radio, a lot of foxfire, and a pair of knee-high socks and a summer dress.

Ayana has just finished drawing out the last lamp of foxfire. She's standing on the roof in her dress and socks, shoes tucked neatly over in the corner, and the music is already softly playing some silly J-pop song.

Up here on the rooftop, Ayana has no fear of having her ears and tails fully visible. There's a small picnic blanket set up on one end of the rooftop with snacks laid out on it, and a big wide area that Ayana's meticulously swept to make it good for sock-dancing. She's smiling, humming to herself, while she waits for Ikiko to show up.
Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Even out of henshin, clambering out of her window is no big deal for Ikiko. The nearby tree helps, but athleticism also plays an important role -- especially when the destination is the rooftop and not the ground.

Still, she treats the climb with the respect it deserves, making sure that she has good handholds and footholds before advancing. No need to ruin the evening by falling before getting to the roof!

Still, Ikiko gets up there soon enough, and the first thing she does is head over and give her girlfriend a hug and a kiss. "This looks great!" she smiles, twirling experimentally on the dance area.
Ayana has posed:
Ayana's ears catch the sound of Ikiko climbing up first, and she turns to smile at her girlfriend. "Hi!" she says, then wags her tails excitedly when Ikiko gives her a kiss. "I'm glad you like it," Ayana says, watching Ikiko whirl across her dance floor. "But there's a rule! No shoes on my dance floor! It's a sock dance." She grins, then sends the last little ball of foxfire to dancing in the corner. "I'm glad you like it. I sorta put it together last minute, but I really wanted it to be fun. We don't get to do girlfriend stuff enough, and well ... I wanted you to know that you make me happy. So .. yeah."
Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata ducks her head sheepishly, then takes off her shoes and carefully places them next to Ayana's before giving the kitsune another kiss. "A playful, romantic date," she murmurs. "A very clever idea, especially in contrast with the fancy ball going on elsewhere.

She gives the foxgirl a quick twirl, then nuzzles Ayana's nose. "I'd rather be here having fun with you than forced to dress up for a fancy, formal dance, anyway," Ikiko smiles.
Ayana has posed:
Ayana's tails set to wagging again at the second kiss, and then Ikiko drags her out to dance, and she giggles excitedly, following along happily. Right up until Ikiko mentions the other dance. Then her ears droop, and her eyes widen a little. "You knew?" she asks, a little worriedly. "I didn't think we could afford it," she explains, "but ... but I really wanted to go. So I thought this would make it okay. That we could do this instead. I didn't tell you because I didn't want you to be upset."
Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
"There was enough talk about it that it was hard to miss," Ikiko explains apologetically, going with a simple dance in time with the music. "And dressing up fancy can be fun, but it's usually accompanied by having to behave prim and proper and taking care not to mess the outfit up..."

She shakes her head with a slight smile. "I think it's awesome that you set up this idea," she grins, giving the kitsune a one-armed hug (so as to not interrupt the dance).

A sly smile creeps across Ikiko's face. "Besides, now I have another idea of a possible gift to give you at some point," she remarks.
Ayana has posed:
That draws a confusing look from Ayana. One ear perked up, the other still folded over, she peers at Ikiko curiously. "A gift idea?" she asks curiously, as she dances along to the music. "Because I brought you up here to dance in our socks?" Then her expression turns amused, and she puts her arms around Ikiko's neck, settling in for the dancing. "What's the idea?"
Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
"But if I tell you now, then it'd ruin the surprise," Ikiko replies with an innocent smile. She grins for a few moments, then finally relents, partially. "I like getting you gifts that you love and look forward to... so when you mention something like that, I try to pay attention so I can try to get you a gift for it."
Ayana has posed:
Ayana blinks in confusion, and both ears perk up again. "Wull," she murmurs, "don't spend a lot of money on it, whatever it is, okay?" Ayana asks her worriedly. "I think you already give me too much, and most of what we get should go to food because I eat too much, and I know I eat too much but I can't stop myself it's just so good," she explains, then straightens up a little.

And changes the subject: "Norie looked so cute, trying to figure out if she's in love. I had to be honest with her about how hard it was for us. About ... how I kinda ... betrayed you by draining you a lot. Um. And she got the wrong idea at first, but I made sure she knows it's not okay. Oh! And I remembered something really weird. I remembered Riventon's real name."
Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata nuzzles her girlfriend again. "Don't worry; I'll save up the gift for a really special occasion," she reassures the kitsune. Besides, finding the right time will also be a challenge, but Ayana doesn't need to know that right now~!

The sometimes-wolfgirl smiles at Ayana's recollection and description of helping Norie out with figuring out about love -- then Ikiko's expression turns surprised at the latest relevation. "That's... wow," she finally says. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to; I respect the privacy of your past," she murmurs. "But if you want to tell me... I'm willing to listen."
Ayana has posed:
Ayana closes her eyes and buries her face against Ikiko's neck, cuddling even closer as they sway to the music. They're not dancing in time; they're barely dancing at all. But that doesn't matter, they're spending time together in a romantic setting, enjoying one another's company on a hot night in the cool air, and that's what matters.

"Takashi," replies the kitsune. "Takashi Agera. Which I guess makes me Ayana Agera. Except that my papers already say Tasogare. But that's okay, I'll just ... remember it. He's not really my brother, anyways. He was my master. But I'm glad to know it."
Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata gives a soft nod of acknowledgement. "It's good to know your past," she notes. "Even if it winds up staying in the past, the sense of knowing can bring a sense of calm."

She then puts a finger under her girlfriend's chin, raising Ayana's head so the two can look eye to eye. "Besides, I think 'Tasogare' is a prettier name than 'Agera'," she winks. "But then, I miiight be biased..."

Any further words are put on hold as Ikiko kisses the kitsune tenderly. <3
Ayana has posed:
Ayana giggles at Ikiko's decision that her name is better, but the giggle is cut off by warm lips against her own. She blushes, but returns the affection in kind, hugging Ikiko just a little closer as they kiss.

When the kiss breaks, she squeezes Ikiko even tighter, then says, "Someday, I want to change my name again. Hisakata is much nicer than Tasogare."
Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
A bit of a blush crosses Ikiko's face at Ayana's comment. "I look forward to that day," she finally manages to mumble in return. "It might take about a decade to get there... but I do want to get there, my beloved Ayana."

While she's saying this, the corners of her mouth keep twitching upward into an irrepressible grin of pure happiness. ^_^
