Date of Scene: | 14 July 2016 |
Location: | Earth Court Frat House |
Synopsis: | Naru stops by the ECFH. Mamoru and Kunzite answer some questions about drains and Devices, before Naru mentions oh, hey, this woman came over asking about Kazuo... |
Cast of Characters: | Mamoru Chiba, Naru Osaka, Kunzite |
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
The apartment that tends to be in use these days while the first one is under construction: the layout's more or less the same, just oriented toward a different part of the city, on the other side of the building, and mirrored for obvious reasons. (Amusingly, this has a tendency to confuse Mamoru early in the morning and late at night.)
Being midafternoon, it's probably no surprise that when Mamoru answers the door, he's still in his school uniform, though the tie's hanging untied and his shirt's no longer tucked in and his jacket's who knows where. His glasses are smudged and therefore in one hand; apparently he'd been in the middle of cleaning them with his shirttail when Naru knocked.
Looking down at Naru, the upperclassman smiles crookedly. "Oh good. I've got something for you since you don't use the balcony. Just gave one to Mako-chan, too. Come in, et cetera."
It's summer, so he's not even bothering with slippers. Just sock feet. And on his way back in, he toes those off too.
- Naru Osaka has posed:
School uniform, school bag, gym bag, and Naru is down to bare feet when she kicks off her school shoes, bandaids still keeping the blisters in check until they finish healing. "I do use the balcony.. just as a balcony, rather than a landing spot." Naru points out as she lets the gym bag at least hang out by the door with the shoes, her school bag coming in with her as she follows Mamo in.
"As a warning, I have a list going at this point." Naru comments as she follows him.
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"That's fine," Mamoru says cheerfully, leading her into the kitchen as he puts his glasses on. He reaches up next to the side of the kitchen door, where there's a hook and random stuff hanging from it, and takes down a key with a nondescript ring on it. This, he holds out to Naru, expecting her to take it, clearly. This also means he sees the bandaids on her feet. "Oh for the love of--" he says in irritated dismay. "What did you do? You have to let me fix your feet before you ask any questions. Or maybe while asking. Or whatever. And then I'm gonna see what's in the fridge, I just got home."
- Naru Osaka has posed:
"What?" Naru blinks in surprise. "They're already almost healed! I just dont want my school shoes to rub on them weird. New socks are /amazing/. I already knew that running stores had pretty good energy goo, but they also have socks that are basically magic for happy feet. Seriously." She protests lightly as she reaches for the key. "Thank you. It'll make painting easier too. Once the walls are done."
- Kunzite has posed:
"The first day of serious running tells someone everything they never realized they were doing wrong." Kunzite's appearing from out of basically nowhere is something everyone that spends much time around the apartment gets used to (or never quite gets used to, depending -- the hindbrain will forever insist that someone that size should not move that quietly).
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"Yes but bandaids on the floor," complains Mamoru, waving a hand after Naru takes the key. And then he crouches and just presumes he has her okay to do so, reaching for her feet-- and pausing in case she jumps, when he feels Kunzite on the approach. It's only after she jumps or doesn't that he completes the circuit and there's glow and there's healing.
"At least it's serious running and not some kind of sock youma," he grumbles. Then he sits back on his heels and looks up and up at Kunzite. "She has a list."
- Naru Osaka has posed:
There is no startle when Kunzite just /appears/ out of nowhere. It's almost as if Naru is used to Kunzite just /appearing/ out of nowhere. Nor does Naru protest more than she already has at the healing.
"Hunh. Clearly healing doesn't take that edge off. Interesting. I didn't think it would. Thank you for that, by the by." Naru pauses a moment and then wriggles her shoulders. "Oooh. That caught the shoulders too. Unexpected added bonus." She pauses. "Don't tell Hannah, or we'll end up running twice as far tomorrow."
"Yesterday was.. like a week's worth of /stuff/ in a day." Naru explains as she leans against the counter a moment. "Even without sock youma."
- Kunzite has posed:
"Of course she has a list. It's Thursday." The older boy takes this for granted, might even sound a trifle approving. He's dressed as he almost always is, outside of Events or dance classes -- jeans and a white button-down. There's almost variation, today. The sleeves have been rolled up.
Like Naru, he leans against a piece of counter, keeping the route between Mamoru and the fridge clear. There's a moment when gray eyes study the unlikely prince down on the floor. "I assure you that I was present when she purchased the new socks, and none of them were youma at the time. Since then, I can guarantee nothing."
His attention flicks up to Naru afterward. "I understand that you met unpleasant things, and then Madoka Kaname."
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"I wouldn't," Mamoru assures Naru, regarding telling Hannah. Then he looks up at Kunzite again, wide eyes of feigned innocence from there on the floor while the older boy studies him, and he may or may not be hiding a smile after Kunzite looks away and he picks himself up off the floor. Then he's quiet as he heads for the fridge and contemplatively starts rooting through it and taking things out one at a time. Listening.
- Naru Osaka has posed:
"Mmm." Naru nods in agreement with Kunzite at the mention of unpleasant things and then Madoka. "That bit was the middle bit of my eventful day, and is only one item on the list of four things that came out of yesterday alone. If we include the awkward intervention on the roof, then we get up to five things, but that one is pretty much just done and dusted."
"I can start there, though. As good a place as any." Naru considers a moment and then offers the summary version. "Wraiths do, indeed, suck. They get in your head, they aren't interested in energy, but they were messing with the same bit of my head as Mou Fubuki did, but differently. WAY more worrisome. I can see them, no one else at the bus stop could, and Madoka kicked their asses for me. Which was good, cause they travel in packs, and I couldnt run from all of them."
- Kunzite has posed:
The awkward intervention on the roof, Kunzite's already told Mamoru about; apparently Usagi asked a couple of Guardians to find out if Naru might be a latent Chara Bearer, and the answer is 'no more than anybody else, right now.' "The first group traveled in a pack, too," he notes. "If another sizable group's turned up already, that says unpleasant things about their frequency. Mou Fubuki -- that was the incident last week, the effect that kept you from talking to people or bothering with school?"
When Kunzite has to start double-checking as to whether he remembers which creature was using Naru for a chewtoy in which way...
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"--which reminds me, Usa and I spoke to a girl named Nanoha; we haven't spoken to my friend Storm Knight about it yet, but she's got a perspective different from Nanoha's, and the person Nanoha and her friend Yuuno recommended-- I don't know if anyone's spoken to you about Intelligent Devices yet, but there are two schools of them, and Usagi was thinking some of them might be defensive only. I know Dr. Shelby's is primarily medical in nature. Either way, I've got people for you to interrogate if you want, so you can see for yourself what entails. It seems to me to be the most straightforward form of magical protection, and the Devices are like their users' partners," the teenager by the fridge says, glancing over and pushing his glasses up his nose, then turning back to the counter and putting some leftovers in a bowl to nuke. "Also are you hungry? There's a lot of this. It looks good but I don't know what it is."
- Naru Osaka has posed:
"Right." Naru nods as Kunzite confirms which incident she's referring to. "Hers.. I could still .. mmm.." Naru frowns a little as she works out how to explain it. "The emotions were all still there. Empathy and motivation and interest and drive and love and everything.. they were there, but I couldn't get to them. Like there was a wall or something, that I could see and feel, but couldnt penetrate. Which apparently is unusual, in her experience, most don't have that awareness, but I guess I navel gaze a lot. Or something." Naru shrugs a little and then continues. "With the Wraiths though, same things, same sort of emotions, but they're just /gone/. They took them from me. Only a little bit, I mean.. its like I have to push past a little blank spot in my emotions, but I also broke away from him pretty quickly and got pretty.. er.. ticked." Naru ers and then pauses in her overly analytic comparisons of emotional manipulation.
"Is this the same as the glaive that Ami and I talked about?" Naru asks on the point of Intelligent Devices. "Cause that's on the list too. I'm skeptical of them working terribly well for someone without magic, but I'm willing to investigate." She turns to Kunzite. "I might need to figure out weapons at some point." Her attention goes back to Manoru and nods. "Starving, and I don't think I care what it is. I was going to raid your fridge when you were done raiding your fridge." She grins.
- Kunzite has posed:
"Kushari," Kunzite says absently to Mamoru. Which probably is less than enlightening in itself, but the important part is that if he's identifying it, Zoisite probably did not make it.
More of his attention is on Naru's explanation, and on the one verb form that he singles out from all the rest of the words. "Have to push past? Still have to?"
The glaive he doesn't know about, but Mamoru's more likely to know what Ami's working on than Kunzite is, all in all. Kunzite inclines his head to Naru when she mentions weapons. "Nadeshiko can help," he says. "Once we have a feel for the differences, so can the rest of us."
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
There's... a distinct quiet from Mamoru during Naru's description of what it felt like. He glances sidelong at Kunzite when he names the food, and there's a brief smile that doesn't -- quite -- reach his eyes. Luckily, Kunzite singles out the verb Mamoru was also starting to look alarmed about, and he looks away again to put the entire leftovers bowl in the microwave with a plate over it. "Well you get kushari, then. And whatever else you want. I have no idea what glaive Ami was talking about, but near as I can tell, it's the Device that does the magic, and your emotions and energy and willpower fuel it. Which technically is all our stuff does, just without the Device."
- Naru Osaka has posed:
Naru nods her assent to that pesky verb choice. "I think its better today than it was last night, but I was so spectacularly /done/ with yesterday by the time I crawled into bed. Just /done/, and Lady with the suit and the business cards so was trying to capitalize on that too. Ugh." Naru harumphs softly. "Today I can .. I dunno.. fake it? Push past the gap, and throw the emotion I know should be there at it, and it like.. catches and it's good. Last night, by the time I was done taking to her, there was no faking it. I was just /done/. I mean.. it's been less than twenty four hours, so if it just comes back with time, it hasn't been a lot of time."
Naru pauses to think about that a moment. "If you guys run off emotions, amongst other things.. dont get drained by a Wraith. Oh.. the fog totally turns up with the pack, with the single guy who snagged me? I could barely see the mist, so it's not a good marker for any away from the rest of them."
Naru seems fine with kushari as it gets stuck in the microwave. "Apparently whatever glaive thing Ami was talking about is Takashi's, if that helps identify it in your mind? Her and Taka are another item on the list. I doubt that's a surprise to /anyone/."
- Kunzite has posed:
Lady with the suit? Kunzite's eyebrows lift slightly, but he doesn't interrupt the current topic to inquire. "Interesting. The fog manifested first for the ones I saw. Apparently the order's unreliable." Good to know.
He does not, for some reason, comment on emotional capacity or its recuperation time. Probably because there's an expert there. Or at least that's a good excuse.
"Frost Knight's weapon," he says then, to the glaive. Fingers tap lightly against the counter, as if he were counting something off in his mind. How many spells of Frost Knight's has he heard that Device declare? ... more than one might expect.
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
Mamoru watches the big bowl turn in the microwave for a minute, then gets a few other bowls down and fishes in the wrong drawer for hashi and doesn't notice. "If you want," he says after a moment, hands curled around the sides of the drawer, "I can help you try and get the wall away. It might be invasive; I'd be digging, and helping you dig, so if there are things or feelings you don't want me to see, then you'll probably want to say no. But it would be good to find out while it's not bad, in case it happens again and is bad."
He finally looks up, and he hasn't looked quite that serious without also looking sick in quite some time.
Then the microwave beeps, and he laughs self-consciously and looks away to open it.
- Naru Osaka has posed:
"It was night, and I was tired and playing on my phone and not paying nearly as much attention as I probably should have, but I didn't really notice the mist at all until I turned the corner. I may have informed him of my disappointment in the lack of fog." With great intensity too, but Naru leaves the bits about yelling about the injustice of a lack of fog off of her narrative.
"Yes! Frost Knight's weapon. She told me some of what it could do, which I'm pretty sure should ensure I either break my neck, or lop my head off if I actually try and use it." Naru shakes her head. "Sorry, all my notes are in my bag, and apparently I am a freaking /space/ cadet today without notes. Yeah yeah. I know. Memorize my notes." Naru sends that last at Kunzite, a repetition of his advice back to him, in advance of it being repeated to her. Again.
Naru considers that offer from Mamoru a few moments and then mmms. "This one just feels like they're missing. The wall came down to Sailor Moon's escalation, and if I never experience that again, I'm okay with that." She considers a few moments. "If you think you can .." She hesitates and then quirks her head. "You are fairly nuts to offer to go into my head. It's a messy place."
- Kunzite has posed:
"None of my students have ever managed to self-decapitate," Kunzite informs Naru. Mamoru will recognize that tone of voice. Even Naru might be starting to.
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"Nanoha seemed to be of the opinion that Lindy, in Virtue, might have access to other devices. They also might work better for you than the kind that Frost Knight's is," says Mamoru, taking the bowl carefully and quickly out of the microwave, then bringing it over to the table and raiding the dish rack for a big serving spoon. Then he brings the other bowls over and looks up at Kunzite as he says that, and in return, gets a lopsided smile that's a little more real than the last one. Then he glances back to the wrong drawer and lifts a hand to rub at the back of his neck for a second--
--and goes to the drawer directly opposite it and pulls out hashi with a tiny sigh of mild self-irritation. Without looking back up at Naru again yet, he notes, "They might be missing, but you still have the associated neurons in the appropriate parts of your limbic system. So there's either a wall you can't see -- something which is magically causing inhibitory neurotransmitters to be released when they fire and blocking off the next ones from firing -- or they damaged their capacity to release excitatory ones. It's also possible what they did rerouted, in passing, parts of your autonomic nervous system. All that's physiological, but since my emotions aren't currently impaired and my empathy is both receptive and projective, I can try and kickstart it with my own emotions."
Finally he glances up as he puts the hashi on the table and sits down. "Like I said, I'll have to do some digging. To find the actual cause. It won't hurt but you might cry. If it's something I can fix I'll do it, and if it's something I can show you how to do on your own, I'll show you."
- Naru Osaka has posed:
"Frost Knight's felt very.. proactive. On the offense, and I'm not sure that's so much my style. I would really prefer not to be the first to break Kunzite's perfect record." Naru comments with a dry little smirk as she pushes away from the counter to go and join Mamoru at the table, sliding into a seat.
"I'd never considered that you could rewrite my brain, which is moderately disconcerting. I fairly well hate things going into my head, but they dont' ask first, and they make a mess, and it sucks. You digging around.. you probably aren't going to try and leave it messier than how you found it. So if you were digging in my head, how badly is that going to mess you up?" Naru asks, fairly plainly as she reaches to offer to serve out food for everyone. "There is a really very tiny number of people I am willing to cry in front of. Although I suppose it's different when you know someone is poking your head to make it happen. I guess?"
"Before we get utterly distracted by the potential of poking in my head like one of those videos where they can make people smell burnt toast by poking at their brains, dont let me leave without telling you about suit lady. Who has a name, which is in my bag, and no.. I didnt memorize /it/ either." Naru gestures the spoon in Kunzite's direction.
- Kunzite has posed:
"It has other capabilities." Kunzite says. "Shields. Defenses. Escape routes." He glances briefly toward Mamoru, then, and adds, "But if there are other potential options, it's worth seeing what might be done."
It's not the time to mention that the only times he's seen that particular Device in action, it's been in defense of someone.
(It may never be that time.)
The rest of the conversation isn't particularly one he needs to, or should, be a part of. He stays leaning against the counter, keeping himself at a distance as if to fade out of the conversation and give the two of them at least a semblance of more privacy. Well. Except when Naru spoon-indicates, anyway.
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"I won't do anything without your approval, and I'll show you everything I'd try before I try it so you can both understand and veto if it's not something you're comfortable with. Kunzite can tell you I'm good at being super patient and methodical about anything involving someone else's mind," Mamoru says in that space between mild and firm. Then he shifts uncomfortably, hashi poised above his own bowl. Kunzite's sits empty, in front of the empty seat.
"And I never thought of it as rewriting someone's brain; I don't think I'm comfortable with that idea, and I'm going to have to think about it a lot, because you're right. I was thinking of it more along the lines of restoration, but that's a subset, isn't it. It still involves potentially breaking down and removing artificially imposed constructs or limitations, or rebuilding things that have been damaged." He puts his hand down, looking at the bowl. "And even if I'm doing it with your supervision and permission, then it's still something I'm doing."
Finally, he looks up again. "You should definitely think about it more too, then. And don't worry about effects on my head from being exposed to what's in yours. You may think it's a mess, but I've been in Miss White's." And Kunzite's while he was made of dark energy, but he's being tactful. "So yes. Tell us about Suit Lady."
- Naru Osaka has posed:
"Sorry." Naru does sound apologetic as she scoops into Mamoru's bowl. "I mean, even healing naturally.. if it does heal naturally.. is rewriting that bit that's gone. I think I just need to remember how to bridge that gap of being able to feel it and also be able to express it automatically, but I could totally see how if it was worse, it'd be trying to rewire back in how to feel. And your empathy is awesome, but isn't natively mine. Hrm. I was just being self conscious about all the stupid crap, but yeah.. the notion of rewriting and influences is really an interesting question, and puzzle. I.. I think.. no. I think I'm going to have to think on it, and am going to hope it heals on its own, truthfully."
There's just a brief glance to Kunzite before Naru directs her comments to Mamoru more directly. "Well. Last night.. late. Like after /everything/ else in my day, there's a knock. I half expected it to be Kunzite, but no. There's a woman on my doorstep, all business professional, with a picture from the news of myself, Misa, Mira and Kunzite at the Crown. Misa's been missing for ages, she's all messed up, I think she's connected with the creepy dolls somehow, but I don't know how.. but that's a whole different conversation." Naru pauses from the tangent and refocuses. "Anyhow. She starts with asking me about Misa, ultimately fesses up that she's from some sort of investigation company and is /actually/ looking for information on Kunzite. Except as Kazuo. I have her card in my bag." Naru gestures over to her schoolbag. "Apparently his father is terribly worried, and yadda yadda, but by the way she was describing Kazuo, for one.. it wasn't Kunzite, for two, even half asleep and completely out of emotional energy, she didn't make me happy and I barely wanted to tell her about Misa, let /alone/ anything about Kunzite."
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
Mamoru just nods-- and actually, to be honest, looks faintly relieved at the 'no'. He does pick up his hashi again and finally sticks them into the food, but his other hand comes up like 'time out'. "Just, if it happens again, and you can't break free, tell me once you're done thinking about it if it's something you'd be okay with me doing as an emergency intervention. In case it's bad enough that you're either not healing or you can't even interact to give an okay. Some people might think emotions are a lot of stuff and nonsense, but they are wired into the most primitive parts of our ability to respond to situations. I have some intro to psych textbooks you can borrow if you want."
Then Naru goes into the Suit Lady story with a glance at Kunzite, and Mamoru finally starts actually eating. Nomnomnom. He also gives Kunzite a really big thumbs-up once he's tasted it, and starts scarfing. It's possible he forgot to eat today.
Naru mentions Misa and Mamoru gets a faintly guilty look, but it subsides -- there wasn't a hell of a lot he could have done while he was in the Dark Kingdom, after all -- but apparently he knows stuff about her. Abruptly he stops scarfing when Naru gets to the part about the lady asking about Kazuo. Thankfully, he remembers to swallow before he shoots a quelling look at Kunzite. "...well," he tells Naru slowly, "what description did she give that didn't sound like Kunzite?"
- Kunzite has posed:
Kunzite, still leaned against the counter, does not change expression or say a word.
- Naru Osaka has posed:
"If I get caught again? And don't get away, or dont tell him to go to hell on my own? Fix me." Naru is certain on that front. "Just having them walled off for like.. 18 hours, was crippling and awful and worth every bit of the pain of the escalation to fix. Emergency intervention where I'm too messed up to agree? Fix me. I swear, I'll take even that psycho in the alley by the boardwalk's energy drain again rather than things stealing stuff out of my head."
Naru takes a moment to take a few bites of her own food to pause and gather her thoughts on a wholely different topic. "She said that he was violent, and a deliquent, and a druggie, and utterly unstable and off his meds, which considering she also tried to categorize him as a drug abuser was an interesting combo, and oh his father is so concerned and can she even just know he's got somewhere to sleep at night?" Naru looks up and there is a wry little smile. "I managed not to laugh at her."
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
Mamoru's thoughts immediately turn to a backpack in a back closet of an empty room in an abandoned house, the singleminded determination and the certainty that it would be taken away if it was found that belonged to the hands that placed it there, and the objects contained therein.
He shifts in his seat. "What an ass," he says judgementally. "The lady, I mean." He glances up at Kunzite, then. "Do you want me to look into your dad before anything else? I mean that lady's eventually going to end up on our doorstep anyway, and knowing what his situation is ahead of time might prevent having to shank someone." A pause. "Either way..."
Yeah, that's a trail-off. Some things he's not going to talk about in front of Naru, and that's perfectly clear from his expression where it's turned to face the older boy. "...coming up with some kind of story is probably a good idea. Letting me do the talking is probably also a good idea."
- Kunzite has posed:
"I do protest the 'drug abuser' label," Kunzite says in his typically dry tone. "No evidence."
He gestures to Mamoru, then, and adds, "Your choice. Your doorstep. Though we should keep a sharp eye out, for the others' sakes."
- Naru Osaka has posed:
"I didn't tell her about the apartment. The only thing I told her was that to the best of my knowledge, he had a fairly routine homelife." Naru gives a little shrug. "I don't think she's following me, but she might be. I would be, at least, if I was her." She gestures between Mamoru and Kunzite. "I figured it was someting for you guys to deal with, and me to stay out of. If she was describing who Kazuo used to be, it wasn't the Kunzite I know now." She glances over to Kunzite at the dry commentary and there's a flash a smile. "Possibly still violent, I am usually unconscious by that point in things."
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"Well it'd probably be like Interpol or something looking for Neph or Zoi. No-one's come knocking about Jadeite yet, but given his Dark Kingdom cover story and how much of it might actually be something resembling accurate, when they do it might be the American government," says Mamoru, half grumbling by the end, sunk even further into his chair. He's absently pushing his food around now. But he glances up at Naru with twinkling eyes. "Only appropriately violent. I mean, hell, you and I can be violent when pressed. It's a relative thing, isn't it?"
- Kunzite has posed:
"There's a sufficiency of delinquency in the household anyhow. If I indulged, we'd be over quota." A brief pause, and Kunzite adds, "Also, Interpol doesn't work that way in the real world, so we're probably safe from that." This is his version of good news, apparently! That or he's encouraging Mamoru to demonstrate the violent-when-pressed by throwing things.
Further evidence in favor of this: he pushes away from the counter and comes to join the two of them at the table. Except that, en route, he takes Mamoru's having sunk down into his chair and started pushing food around his plate like a sullen twelve-year-old as license to treat him as the same, and ruffles black hair with a hand in passing.
- Naru Osaka has posed:
"See? Totally routine home life." Naru points out with a soft snicker on the debate between Interpol or American government or who else might be looking for them." Naru grins back to Mamoru. "Hey, I just yell things at invisible monsters at a bus stop. I didn't think hitting it with pepper spray was going to help much, so I stuck with hurling insults." She reaches to take the spoon, offering to serve up some food for Kunzite as he comes to sit down.
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"I like how you think we live in the real world," Mamoru says, giving hella sideeye Kunzite's way before he gets his head ruffled-- and insistently pushes his head against the hand on it. Then he waves a hand at Naru. "You can totally always try pepper spray and running the hell away. I should do that more often."
- Kunzite has posed:
Feline behavior gets feline rewards, apparently, since Kunzite duly stops to absently pet hair as if Mamoru were in fact a cat. Whether he got this behavior from dealing with Zoisite or not is an excellent question. "If you do try, let me know what your results are," he comments to Naru. "I never tried those experiments."
... actually, Zoisite might have.
There's a brief nod to Naru after, presumably spoon-related. "What else is on your list?"
- Naru Osaka has posed:
"If I meet Wraiths again, I'll try the pepper sprawy. The insults and running works surprisingly well, actually. Until the rest of the pack found me and then it stopped working really quickly." Naru explains as she scoops food into Kunzite's bowl and goes back to her own nomnomnoming. "I haven't tried the pepper spray yet. I also did with Maeko, but it was in the school, and that seemed like a bad idea. Running didn't pan out so well against Mou Fubaki, she's faster than I am." Naru considers this a few moments and then shrugs.
"Right. List.. We got to suit lady. We hit on the Wraith stuff. We touched on the glaive, and I'm glad to know there's others, although I'm not /opposed/ to the Frost Knight thing, just a little wary. Last thing was mostly a 'for the record' thing.. cause when Ami says 'don't tell Usagi' about dating Taka, I mostly want someone who isn't me to also just.. keep an eye on the abuse level going on there."
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
Finally Mamoru goes back to eating his food, now that his hair is thoroughly mussed. "I can't help with Ami. She needs to tell Usagi. If she doesn't, someone will tell her for her. And it'll probably be Makoto. And no one needs that." Mouth full for a little bit, chewchew, scarf scarf, and he's done, and he looks accomplished. And pushes his glasses up on his face with one finger. "If she wants to talk to me, she can, but I think-- we can't read each other. So that's difficult. And I don't have the right to pry."
- Kunzite has posed:
"It explains how Agera could be near both Kyouko and her partner even for a few minutes without murder breaking out, though," Kunzite notes. "I'd wondered about that." He inclines his head to Naru in thanks, and actually takes a seat.
- Naru Osaka has posed:
"Yeah, Makoto is the other one she said not to tell." Naru sighs softly and nods. "Duly noted, and this was more of a 'heads up, even if he stops being evil somehow, I have concerns' sort of mentioning such that it's not just the elephant in the room that no one speaks about. I don't expect anyone to /do/ anything, but yeah. I felt it should get mentioned." She finishes her own bowl and nudges it aside. "I think that's the current list all done. And hopefully I can take like maybe two or three days to gather up the next list of similar length, rather than about nine hours during midterms."
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"Yeah," says Mamoru, then taps his bowl with his hashi for a second before getting up to wash it, despite Kunzite just having sat down. "And listen," he says to Naru, "I want you to--"
Here he stops himself and grimaces. "Nevermind. Just. If you have time to call for help, please, please do?" This as he's going over to the sink, and then the water's running.
- Kunzite has posed:
"It was a little much for midterms," Kunzite agrees gravely. "One other question. Do you happen to know when this business with Agera started again? We'll do what we can to keep an eye on her, but she's been reclusive for a little while. If that started before she took up with Agera again, well and good; but some of the alternatives are less so."
- Naru Osaka has posed:
"The list of folks I need to text when things have abruptly gone pear shaped is getting long. I usually aim for Kunzite if I can, and have faith in his ability." Naru looks apologetic. "I even got a text off to him with the Wraiths, but Madoka was /right there/. Usually, I'm either trying to talk them out of the idea, running, or unconscious before I even get my phone out." Naru explains to Mamoru with a little shrug.
"I'm not sure." Naru shakes her head to Kunzite. "We had one of the better talks that we've had in a while, she opened up a bit, and I don't think so. She was pretty reclusive around the time I was talking to Taka and they were for sure split up then, because he was in full crazy stalker mode."
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"Then I have an idea. I'll fake-attack you by surprise while wearing a riot cop shield so I don't get pepper spray in the face, then chase you while you multitask running and calling Kunzite. Pro tip: speed dial is faster than texting and you can do it while running. This is a thing I know from experience." Mamoru dries his plate and puts it in the rack, then dries his hands. "And she was also reclusive while they were dating before. And she was also reclusive before the Dark Kingdom, though less so, as I recall. But. I have a midterm tomorrow, so I'm gonna go study. You need me for anything, you know where I am."
That's a blown kiss before Mamoru's out the kitchen door.
