Usagi Tsukino has posed:
The Time Gate is not someplace the queen often visits. It's not that she doesn't want to. If she had her way, Pluto would be able to come and go as she pleased. Unfortunately, ancient duties and the god of time outranked even the queen of Earth.

With her husband telling Small Lady bedtime stories, Serenity's found a rare chance between the public eye and the private moments to make an even more rare visit.

She's carrying a satchel. It's by the sheer stubbornness of bibliophiles such as her husband and more than one senshi that physical books were still made today. But even she agrees that sometimes no screen can replace the soothing feel of a book in her hand.

And of course, by book, she means Manga. There's some interesting retellings of the twenty-first century in circulation. Not all...get their facts straight, but hey, creative licence.

She steps through, heels clacking against the stone. There's a sudden lack of echo, the same that used to send an eerie shiver down her spine. Today she ignores it.

"Pluto~!" Serenity pokes out her head, one silvered twintail trailing down past the border of normal time and...where ever this place is. (Ami knows. Mamoru knows. She...gets distracted when it's explained to her.)

"I've brought you some more books." She reaches in and finds the book she's looking for. She tries hard to stifle her giggles. "Small Lady sends her love. She'd have come herself, but her father's spoiling her with about five-hundred stories tonight."

Sailor Pluto has posed:
Pluto stands at the Space-Time Door, ever-vigilant. Those who my approach her domain are not many, but today's visitor is one of the few welcome ones. She takes a step back, making way for her queen, and kneels with due respect. She offers a faint smile as a greeting, underwhelming to most people, but for Pluto it might as well have been a full grin.

"Your thoughtfulness is always appreciated, your Majesty."

Formalities taken care of, Pluto rises to accept the books. There was always an amusing and jarring variance in the books she received from the queen compared to those she received from the king. The escape into fiction that Neo Queen Serenity was handing her today was welcome in her otherwise uneventful and silent world.

"Small Lady speaks with such excitement about those stories."

Usagi Tsukino has posed:
One of these days she will get a hug as a greeting from the time guardian. This she vows!

Buuuut today is not that day.

Probably won't be for another few millennia yet...

So she just gives a familiar and brief scowling pout before she hands over the first book. Before it even leaves her fingers she's giggling.

'A Wrinkle in Time.'

Yes. Yes she did.

The rest aren't puns, of course. They range from fantasy and romance to the scary ones that still gives her the heebies over reading just the summary.

She has a fond smile. "Yes. Though I'm not sure if she's more enamored with the stories or her father's way of telling them."

She leans against the doorway of the gate, looking out across the void. For a moment, there's a small droop in her shoulders and a crease between her eyebrows as she looks around. Then it's gone, and she claps her hands together. "So. Her birthday is soon. Endymion and I are planning a surprise party. I know...you can't come, but I was thinking if you wanted to give her something, I could have someone find it for you or commission it to be made. And I know she'd love to come down here and share some cake with you, if that's alright."

Sailor Pluto has posed:
Noticing Serenity's giggle, Pluto looks down at the cover of the first book. It certainly fit perfectly with the queen's sense of humor. Pluto appreciated her efforts, even if she did not outright say so. The stack was huge, but then, so was the last delivery. These books provide her with a sort of connection to the world she cannot be a part of, though Pluto sometimes considers that they are a distraction. She has tried not to let herself become too consumed, but also wishes to see her queen smile when she recalls a favorite passage.

Pluto thinks for a moment on Serenity's words. A present? And a chance to share the cake with Small Lady. The thought of such an opportunity deepens the senshi's smile. She answers with a calm sincerity.

"Yes. I would like that. Please, let me think on a present for Small Lady. Thank you."

Usagi Tsukino has posed:
At Pluto's deepening smile, Serenity nearly beams.

"Good! But shhh, she thinks we'll be out of town on official business. We managed to work around it so we could be back here for that day."

Serenity is genuinely excited about this. There's been more than one time where she knew she was away far too much. But this may make up for at least some of it.

Sailor Pluto has posed:
Pluto nods in a manner as serious as though she was accepting a new mission.

"Very well. I know this will mean a lot to Small Lady. She has mentioned that you are often occuppied with your duties. Should she visit me, I will not tell her.

It was exciting to be in on this light-hearted secret. For all of the countless years that Pluto had lived, there were still many things she had not experienced.
