Synopsis:	Amu asks Kukai about Lacrima and Sachiko. Awkward conversations are awkward.

Amu Hinamori has posed:
Amu Hinamori was sitting outside the shrine, holding up a small charm she'd picked up. Yayyyy! It would bring her good luck! she wondered if she should get one for Nades. A Lacrema. She eyed it for a few more moments before sighing.

Oh yeah. She was going to need more than luck for this. He. Was going. To flip. She sighed and sat on one of the benches, staring at the little charm and the feeling of unease rising in her. What if he didn't care? What if he wouldn't listen to her. "Well, so what? I'm a lot more stubborn than him and I'll MAKE him listen."

Kukai Souma has posed:
It's been a nice quiet day for Kukai. Workout at home, no homework, last day of housesitting, and now he's out walking around the park. It's not exactly a patrol today - if something comes up he'll handle it, but for right now he's just enjoying what has been more or less a week off. Still, best to get back in the swing of things.

So when Amu had called him and asked him to come out to the park he decided to treat it like a light exercise - jacket, long shorts, running shoes - and jogged out along the path towards the center of the park and the shrine on the island. When she came into view, Kukai raised one hand and waved, grinning. It was nice to have her back and in a better general mood. "Heeey, Amu! What's up?"

Amu Hinamori has posed:
Amu Hinamori glanced up and then sighed. "Hi Kukai-kun..." Oh. Oh dear. That tone, that body language. He knew her too well for this.

Something was wrong. Something had gone bad. So bad.

She looked down at the little charm. She was wearing a cute new bracelet, too. Her style, looked hand made. Beads and card symbols, just like her. "Kukai-kun. We... uhhh. We need to talk. You're going to get mad but... I need you to promise to keep an open mind." She'd wait for him to promise, then... "It's about Lacrima."

Kukai Souma has posed:
Kukai pulled to a stop, looking down at Amu for a moment, one eyebrow arched. Something was.. wrong? He sat down besides her and put an arm around her. "Hey, whatever's going on will be fine."

He looked at the charm and the bracelet, then hmms. "We need to talk? Ok, sure. Talk." The other eyebrow goes up when she says he'll get mad. And then... "Lacrima." Well. Mad is... maybe not the right word. Frustrated, maybe. "What'd she do this time?"

Amu Hinamori has posed:
Amu Hinamori sighed and stared at the ground now. "I uhhh... I want... to help her." She squeezed her legs. "I want to hear your side of the story. About... the coma girl. Before anything else." Oh she could already see this wasn't going to go well.

"Are you going to tell him you offered to let her drain you?" Ran asked. She irked. "RAN! Timing!"

Kukai Souma has posed:
Kukai sighs. "I want to help her too. I've always wanted to help her. But she keeps refusing to let people help her." He's silent for a moment, thinking, then nods. "Ok, sure. I..." Then Ran pipes up, and Kukai looks back at Amu for a moment. "....... I really, really, really can't stop you from doing that but I think it's a really bad idea. Really, really bad."

He rubs his head. "Ok. Sachiko. Um.... good grief. Ok. It actually goes back to a year or so ago, back when there was that giant storm, Walpurgisnacht? Sachiko was the little sister of one of the girls that died in all that, and I ended up trying to protect her. She had.. mental issues. She thought she was magic, but she wasn't, and that meant she did a lot of things that could have ended up getting her hurt. Then she met Lacrima, and she would let Lacrima feed off her, but Lacrima was careful about it, but then she and I fought, and Lacrima ended up draining Sachiko to a coma when she found out she was a friend of mine, because she was trying to get back at me. So... that's the short version."

Amu Hinamori has posed:
Amu Hinamori nodded, glancing down at the ground. "I... see." She sighed. "I asked her about it and... would you like to hear her side of it?" she asked softly. She took a deep breath. "She said one of the color girls were there. Pink. In the fight, she said... well... the pink magic the girl used, it messed with her. She said she couldn't control herself. She just kept draining and was struggling to keep herself together and, when she stopped, it just... wouldn't." She slowly swirled her charm around.

"She said that's why she didn't want to try draining me. The fact I'm more... magical than some girls might end up hurting her. Do things to her. She was also afraid of what you'd do to her if I let you drain me." She shook her her. "And... by help her... I mean find people willing to let her feed off them. So she doesn't have to attack people. She told me about what's... happening to her and... frankly, it's horrific. I couldn't imagine having... that happen to me."

Kukai Souma has posed:
Kukai nods. "Yeah, Pink was there. She..." He thinks. "I don't remember if she used any magic or not, honestly. If she did, most of her powers are purifying and, how do you say it... she's good at stunning people, holding them, putting them into stasis. So I dunno." He leans back against the seat. "I don't know. It's been a while, and I can't get over being angry at her. Not to mention that's been a running thing going on lately - she keeps acting like a brat and working with really bad people and doing naughty stuff. I want to help her, but it doesn't excuse her from her actions."

He Nods, then reaches over, patting Amu's shoulder. "Well..... like I said, I can't stop you from doing stupid things when you do stupid things, but I can say that it's stupid. I'm not gonna try to stop you, though. If you end up in a coma, though, that will probably be a good enough reason for me and Tadase and the rest of Virtue to get together and end her. So. And... yeah. What's happening to her is awful. I want to help. I just don't know how."

Amu Hinamori has posed:
Amu Hinamori nodded. "Well... I don't know if we can fix her? For now, I think we need to find out how we can stop her from doing bad things at all. That means finding her a food source so she doesn't have to hurt people. If we can stop her from having to do bad things, then we can move onto other things ,right? I got her a friendship bracelet and invited her to go with me and Nadeshiko-chan to go shopping. And... might have invited her to ummmm..." Poked her fingers together. "Come to the dance..."

She pointed her fingers together. "And... I think we should invite her to a sleep over sometimes. Remind her of what it's like to have friends and the like."

Kukai Souma has posed:
It takes a minute for Kukai to respond, thinking about what she has to say. "Yeah. A food source. That'd be nice." He rubs his head. "A friendship ~ Nadeshiko? Wait. The dance? Oh god. The Halloween dance?" Kukai just looks down at her, then rolls his eyes. "Good grief. I don't know about this, but ok. Sure. Fine. Do what you want." He may be a little annoyed at this point, leaning back against the seat, crossing his legs.

Amu Hinamori has posed:
Amu Hinamori blinked, smiled, then lunged forward, hugging him around the throat. "Yes yes yes yes! Kukai you're the bestest best best ever and I love you and you're awesome!" And she is totally sparkling. And hugging him. Miki just stares with sparkly eyes.

Kukai Souma has posed:
Kukai rolls his eyes, then awks, hugging her around the middle and grinning, patting on her back with one hand. "Yes, yes, I'm awesome, I know. I'll come visit you in the hospital when this all goes wrong."

Amu Hinamori has posed:
Amu Hinamori gave her the biggest smile. "It own't go wrong! Really! me and her are going to become the best friends, jsut you wait." She then blinked aa few times and her cheeks went bright red. She was practically in his lap. And wow she jumped back so fast she practically launched herself out of his lap.

"I-I-I-I errr... So, ummm... h-how about this dance?"

Kukai Souma has posed:
Kukai grins at her, then rolls his eyes. "Best friends with Lacrima. God help us all." Then she leaps out of his arms and curls up and blushes and he just grins more. "The Halloween dance? Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. Don't know what I'm gonna wear just yet, but I'll be there. Have you decided what you want to wear?"

Amu Hinamori has posed:
Amu Hinamori got up and walked over to him, sliding in besides him. "I... not yet. Nadeshiki-chan and I are going to go shopping together. With Lacrima. It'll be fine. Honestly, she really reminds me of Utau-chan. They're both so pretty and pretend to not like anybody even when they do. Honestly... I just... I wanna help her because, well... What if that had happened to me? Would you have given up on me?"

Kukai Souma has posed:
Kukai nods, then rubs his eyes. "Ugh. Utau. There's somebody I haven't seen in a while. I don't know if they're like one another or not, honestly. And.." He arches one eyebrow at Amu. "OK, ok, if we're going to do this, let's do it. What if it had been Ami that got drained into a coma, then? Would you still stand beside the person who did it? Still want to help them, even when they acted like they didn't care what they did?"

Amu Hinamori has posed:
Amu Hinamori blinked a few times, then lowered her eyes. "Kukai-kun... I... I didn't..." She chewed on her lip. She thought about Ami and hugged herself. "I... I don't know." She took a deep breath. "I don't know. But... but what... would I do if what happened to her was... what happened to ami?" she asked weakly, reaching out and taking his hand. "What if something like that happened to me? Or Nadeshiko-chan? Or Tadase-kun? What if something like that DOES happen to one of us? I just... can't... let it go. Because... what if it does and... then I'd given up on someone else who... needed it?"

Kukai Souma has posed:
Kukai listens to Amu, then nods for a moment. "I don't like the idea that I gave up on Lacrima. I still want to help her, I'm still trying to help her. I still want to help her. But it is hard to help somebody who acts the way she does." He reaches up with his free hand and rubs his eyes. "I mean, the fact that I don't automatically try to take her head off whenever I see her ought to be enough of a clue that I'm trying to help her. And I wouldn't give up on anyone else who needed it either, but I'd hope they wouldn't randomly hurt people or work with the single biggest jerk in Tokyo either. So... I'm still trying, ok?"

Amu Hinamori has posed:
Amu Hinamori nodded." I found out about... why she does it. If she doesn't. If she doesn't drain it from people she... loses herself. Loses consciousness. Loses her ability to be... well... herself. She just... stops being her. You know?" She gave a shudder. "Imagine if character changes weren't so... benign. It sounds like it'd be like that. I couldn't imagine living like that..." She shuddered.

Kukai Souma has posed:
Kukai lets out a long-suffering sigh. "I know why she does it. She's told me about it before. I know what happens. I still... Never mind. I know. I couldn't imagine it either." He sits up and shakes his head again. "Anyway. So... is there anything else you wanted to talk about or anything?"

Amu Hinamori has posed:
Amu Hinamori smiles and shakes her hand, getting up. "No. But... I'd like to hang out a bit more? I mean, we haven't... been together too much lately and I missed you. You're my friend and well... last time... was different. There was an x-egg and stuff. I miss my friends..."

Kukai Souma has posed:
Kukai grins and leans back in his seat, looking up at her. "Well maybe I don't wanna hang out with somebody who's getting all smooshy-face with somebody I've been in a bunch of fights with." The words are mean, but the look on his face is a wide grin. Maybe his nose is growing a little bit too. "But yeah. We haven't hung out a lot. It'd be nice just to hang out with you, if you want. What do you wanna do?"

Amu Hinamori has posed:
Amu Hinamori gasped, looking hurt. "Y-you want to... what?" She gave a little whimper, making a pouty face. "I thought we were super best buddies!" Then she smiled. "Besides, I-- W-wait! What? K-kissy? I was not trying to kiss her! I swear! I-I wasn't going to..." She looked so red. "I-I wouldn't have even kissed utua!" Then... realized he was... and now she looked more embarrassed. "O-oh. I guess... errr..."

Kukai Souma has posed:
Kukai does his best to not die laughing, and fails. "Oh wow, you should see your face. That's lovely." He grins at her, then stands and hugs her in a brotherly fashion. "What's this about kissing Utau?"

Amu Hinamori has posed:
Amu Hinamori blushes and squirms. "K-kukai-kun! Stop ittttt!" she whined, covering her cheeks and squirming in place. "I-I mean, s-she's pretty like Utau and I never thought of kissing her or anything and so I mean if I was going to kiss a girl, well I guess I kissed Nagisko but that was different! She was kind of a guy then I mean..."

Kukai Souma has posed:
Kukai laughs and lets her go, patting her shoulder. "I didn't think you ever thought about kissing girls, Amu. So far you've been so wrapped up in Tadase and Ikuto and Nagihiko and other guys that it never crossed your mind. And yeah, I was there that night when you kissed Nagihiko. At least, I think so. I got into the punch when Yamamo Maihime and Platinum Royale got into it in the street and I walked you home so I don't remember the night very well. Anyway, yeah. It's ok. I thought about kissing Utau too but it never happened." He sighs and then nods. "Are you hungry? I'm hungry. We should go see what's on the carts tonight."

Amu Hinamori has posed:
Amu Hinamori nods and then smiled, reaching out to take his hand. "Okay. That'll be nice. And like... I think I'd be okay kissing a girl if they were a guy?" So... Tadase then. She nodded. "ohhh. I really want a taiyaki! It' been soooo long. I could loooove chocolate. They don't have good ones down in Europe." She grinned.

"Well, good taiyaki. Chocolate they have good ones. Lots of those. Ohhhh, so much of that. I actually got to talk to tadase about that," she said with a sigh. "I got soooo much romance chocolate. Which tastes amazing but made me feel bad."

Kukai Souma has posed:
Kukai nods and then grins. "I think there's a takiyaki stall around here somewhere." He hmms. "I thought Europe was the home of chocolate, though." She corrects herself and he nods. "Yeah, I thought so. I'm surprised you didn't gain a bunch of weight over there. Still as small as ever." He walks away from the shrine, heading down the paths, talking to Amu about chocolate and nothing serious.

Amu Hinamori blinked a few times, then her hands went to hug over her chest. "I-I-I'm not that small!" she shrieked, her cheeks bright red. "T-t-tadase is okay with it!" she squeaks. "It's not... Am I really THAT small?" Oof. Right in the ego.
