Shrine on the Moon
Date of Scene: 21 October 2016
Location: The Moon
Synopsis: On the moon, Usagi and Rei come across Sailor Mars' shrine. Usagi is, of course, enthralled. Rei gets a brand new old hair comb.
Cast of Characters: Usagi Tsukino, Rei Hino

Usagi Tsukino has posed:
The Moon. It's still a thing. Or is it a thing again? Or maybe a copy of a thing?

If you think too much about it, you may get a headache. That's why Usagi isn't thinking too much about it. Or that she came here as Sailor Moon, transformed into Serenity mid-fall, yet is still...Usagi.

Definitely something she's not thinking about.

At first, she'd run out of her room, Serene--her--whatever, intent on finding Jupiter or Mercury, both hands gripping two different wrists and tugging people along.

But of course, she's been feeling...especially Usagi since landing on the moon. If she had ADD and was on medication for it this would be her skipping a dose, but while whether or not she has it she's defnitely not medicated.

Still. So many shinies.

Somewhere along the way, one hand because free. Venus is probably hopping around the ship a the dock, pretending to be a pirate space captain, and it's a silly thought at how weird it is Mercury was't the first among them to be on a space ship...

(Oh yeah, she went there. Look at who her boyfriend is, Prince of Earth and King of Dad Jokes.)

Suddenly, her giggles stop as abruptly as she does, standing with wide eyes at a set of massive double doors. Not the same size or majesty as the one leading to Jadeite's palace, of course, but no less regal. Instricate carvings of mythical beasts lay in the woodwork, and she trails her fingers along the nose of a unicorn. Or something like it.

Then she jerks her hand away as though she were about to be scolded. She looks at Mars, her eyes wide, feeling very much like they were about to sneak cookies from a jar.

"Um. Do you think it's okay to go in there?"

Not that there's danger, of course. It's just...

This is the Queen's Chambers!
Rei Hino has posed:
Mars stayed by Moon's side the whole time. She didn't really see a difference between Serenity, Sailor Moon, or Usagi; no more than she saw a difference between Rei Hino and Sailor Mars; but she wasn't the one who had to live with that particular conundrum. If Usagi doesn't want to talk about it, Rei wasn't about to bring it up.

At some point the flowers were put in a place where they wouldn't be forgotten, and where their stems would not dry out, as Jupiter had found such things for them. Rei was concerned that, with how energetic Usagi has been today, the flowers might fall apart or something.

Usagi has a lot of energy, seemingly even more than usual, and even for the Guardian of Fire and Passion it took some effort to keep up. Although, something about the Moon's lower gravity made it a lot easier for her to move quickly, and it's not as if she wasn't already used to jumping crazy far and at sometimes worrisome speeds. There is, frankly, so much to see here, and the miko can hardly hold it against her charge to want to see things.

Especially considering the purpose of this visit.

They come to a stop before a pair of wooden doors, and Rei looks up to admire the craftsmanship. To think that this much detail could be preserved so well for so long... It's amazing. She has to take a step forward, reaching out to touch the door, before pausing.

Somehow, she knows. This place is Off Limits.

No, that's not true. It used to be off limits, a long time ago. A very long time ago.

Usagi's question catches Rei's attention, and she blinks at the princess. "Is it okay...?"

She has to think about that. She looks up at the doors, pondering, considering the implications, and then looks back at Usagi. "I think that's up to you. After all, this was the Queen's room, and with the Queen passed away, that means ownership is transferred to..." Rei gestures towards Usagi. "... the heir. You."

Rei puts one palm on the wooden door, starting to lean against it, but not quite committing to opening it just yet. "How about it, Usagi-chan? Do you want to go in?"
Usagi Tsukino has posed:
It's a door that Serenity knew very well. After all, she would spend hours upon hours over the years, memorizing the detail, making up stories about the pretty beasts carved in.

(Naming them all...hello, Fluffy the Fire Breathing Dragon.)

Her heart stops for a beat before it's working again, and she works down a strange lump as she nods. "Um. Yeah."

There's a moment's hesitation before she leans against the door with Mars, pushing one side open as Rei does the other.

She expects cobwebs. Dust. Something to show how long its been since it's occupant had been around.

Of course, sometimes reality is worse than the imagination.

There's a warmth to the room, magically lit, and it has the feel that someone has only been away for a few minutes instead of a few millenia. The chair is pushed a little back from the desk, a brush is still out on the vanity. Heck, even the Queen's dressing gown is still draped on a hook. She toes off her shoes to wiggle her toes in the plush carpeting, clearing her throat as she turned to look at Rei, focusing on the safer things. "I thought it would be more like a haunted mansion in here. Cobwebs and spiders and you don't think the moon has spiders, do you?!"
Rei Hino has posed:
Mars pushes in as Usagi does, and the two of them enter the room. What Mars finds on the other side is... not what she expected at all. She expected there to be... she doesn't know, something a bit less... fresh?

    "Amazing..." she mutters.

"Spiders?" Mars considers. She tries to think back. Does she remember spiders being in the old Moon Kingdom? No, that's irrelevant. Anything alive during that time would be long gone. Regardless of whether they were here in the past, they wouldn't be here now.

"No, or at least, I'd be surprised if there were. If there were spiders here, we would have seen other creatures too." On the other hand, they did find those plants, so maybe she can't completely rule out the possibility. Would animal life return here eventually as well?

"Besides, I'm sure the Queen would've had some way of keeping spiders out of her room, maybe even something magical, and from the looks of things the magic in this room is still active."

Though Queen Serenity may be long gone, it seems disrespectful to walk around in this room with her shoes on, so Rei kicks off her high heels before moving deeper inside, walking along the plush carpet. "It's incredible. I wonder if it's been like this the whole time. This one room, just like this...."
Usagi Tsukino has posed:
If Usagi were to think about it enough, she'd wonder along those same thoughts as well. Are there moon bees, happily buzzing between plants, polinating and making moon honey? Does Jupiter's garden have little silver moon froggies to keep the golden moon bee population in check? Or is it all done by magic? Or perhaps the Moon just freezes in an instant when no one is here?

Usagi hums in thought, just looking for a moment before she finally realizes she can touch things here, too.

And apparently touching sometimes leads to pilfering because that brush is so pretty.

There's a flash of an image, whether it's imagination or a memory she isn't sure, of a pale, silvery hand closing around a spider or some other bug and letting it outside. "If any did sneak in, she probably let them loose."

She picks up the dressing gown, too thin to possibly be comfortable, but warm to the touch and softer than any silk. She brings it up to her face and just inhales--

because sometimes Mother is in her meetings all day and Serenity misses her too much. So she sneaks in where she's not supposed to be and just breathes in her mother's scent.

The voice from the doorway causes her to jump, but it's as warm as the sun and more teasing than scolding. "Aren't you supposed to be at your lesson?"

Usagi blinks at the doorway, having startled in the present as she had in the memory, confused for a moment as to why the doorway is empty.

"Because she's not here to catch you anymore, is she."

Her face crumbles and she buries her face in softer-than-silk. And it's so very confusing. "Mama's a home," she assures herself. "Mama's baking cookies."

But Ikuko isn't the mother she's apparently decided to mourn.
Rei Hino has posed:
Mars can hardly consider it 'pilfering' when everything here rightfully belongs to Usagi. Or at least, there isn't anyone else it could belong to. If Usagi wanted to take some souvenirs, well, why shouldn't she? It might just help her find the connection she needs.

Mars smiles at Moon's response. She doesn't have the exact same memory, but somehow the answer feels right. "Yeah, you're right. She probably did."

The guardian watches, calmly, as the princess takes the dressing gown and inhales. She doesn't show a hint of concern until Usagi's demeanor changes. She looks at the door, wondering just what Usagi is reacting to, and the next time Mars's charge buries her face in the dressing gown it's...

Oh geeze. Well. This was a long time coming, wasn't it? Mars never once thought to mourn the things from so long ago. It just seemed so distant here. She wonders if there was a similar family of hers around somewhere, maybe on Mars, but she decides that maybe she doesn't want to know.

Focusing instead on the girl in front of her, Mars comes up from behind and wraps her arms around Usagi's stomach, holding her softly and not saying a word. The references to Usagi's mother... more or less reveal what exactly is on Usagi's mind.

"We don't have to leave... right away."
Usagi Tsukino has posed:
Usagi shakes her head. She doesn't want to leave. She knows when she goes home, she'll probably cling to her mama for a bit, maybe cry on her a bit, leaving Ikuko with a faint concern of 'what does my daughter do that leaves her crying like this so much? like it does every time.

But for here and now she's on the
Moon, and even though this room is so much harder than she thought it would be, she wants to be here right now. Maybe it's because Jupiter's found her garden again, or because Mercury is scanning everything possible, or because Venus is probably playing captain space pirates. (Possbly Artemis is her parrot, if she'd managed to steal him from Ami.)

She turns, not to pull away, but because softer-than-silk still doesn't compare to Rei Hugs, and she'll apologize for the salt stains on the sailor collar later.

"But I shoulda--! I mean--!"

But even as she cries, she knows that she
wouldn't have changed things. She'd never give up Serenity first seeing Endymion or the first time (and several after) she met him. She'd never give up how, even though they'd been exhasperated with her more than once, trips to Earth brought Serenity and her senshi closer, solidifying an already strong bond to the point where it literally transcended space and time.

And there's so many more things she wouldn't give up, especially
now.

"She pulls back to wipe at her eyes, still crying, but at least able to talk now. "I
wouldn't change it. Because then, and now?" She presses her forehead against Rei's for a moment before holding up the changing gown.

She looks at it for a moment, but there's so much
more to this, and not just because of the Queen.

Baby steps, right? And this toddler just took a huge step, right?

So she just snuggles back against Rei, calming herself by being
against Rei, and it's a moment later that she pulls back, cheeks and lashes still wet and sticky but at least the crying's stopped.

"Did Mars have a shrine here? Or something? Can we see it?" She's not asking for prayers for the dead, but maybe that'll come later, but really, she can't help but think of Rei when she thinks of shrines.
Rei Hino has posed:
Rei isn't concerned about salt stains on her collar, but she'll appreciate the fact that Usagi thought about her anyways.

She rubs Usagi's back, patting it as her girlfriend weeps. "No one can blame you for anything. It's okay." Whatever it was that Usagi 'shoulda'... Rei doesn't know, but she doesn't think that Usagi was ever in the wrong for what happened.

Rei looks into Usagi's eyes as she pulls away, still holding her close. She closes her eyes at the forehead press, listening to Usagi and trying to, if nothing else, be a comforting and supporting presence. When Usagi snuggles up to her, Rei presses her cheek against hers, hand moving up to touch the princess's shoulder blades. "I know. I wouldn't either. No matter how bad some things were, there was a lot of good back then too. There still is, even now."

The crying stops, at least for now, and Usagi is asking something. "A... a shrine? I mean..."

The aroma of scented candles wafts through the air. Mars kneels before a firepit, locked in a trance, chanting barely familiar words. The robes she wears are different, ancient. More than anything, she remembers how they felt.

"I... think there was something like that, though I almost find it difficult to imagine that it was a Shinto shrine." Rei... tries to figure out where the shrine is, or at least a general direction, not by her memories but by her feelings. Somehow, she suspects that her old self new the way by heart.

Rei takes a step back, towards the door, loosening her embrace with Usagi just the tiniest bit. "We can go look, if you want to?"
Usagi Tsukino has posed:
Usagi nods, very much agreeing that of all the horrible, things had also been good, and that things are very much good. (And that's part of the guilt, right?)

But then she's happy, because she's right, where there's a Mars there's a Shrine. (And in her mind, praying and reading fires and focusing like that is as good for Rei's soul as an afternoon of Manga and cartoons is for Usagi's.)

"Oh, yes! I wanna see it!" She loosens the embrace just the tiniest bit more, dressing gown and brush going into her subspace pocket for the moment, still looking at Rei. "If you wanna? I mean it's yours. Was. Is. Something! So I wanna see it if you wanna see it!"
Rei Hino has posed:
Mars smiles, nods, and then she slides away, but not completely. An embrace is traded for handholding, because while hugs are nice they aren't very good for travelling.

Mars's shrine is not far away, and from a distance it's hard to tell it apart from the rest of the ruins. Yet Mars knows it, and she knows its hers. When she sees it, she points it out. "There it is, just ahead."

It's made of the same pale stonework as anything else around here, ornate and silvery and shining. It's a circular structure, rising up for only a story. A colonnade rings around the outside of the structure, holding up an ornate roof that is mostly flat in shape, with a raised curved ring around the outer edge and a large dome taking up little over half of the roof. The wooden doors leading inside are relatively plain, as might be befitting of a monastery or something similar.

Inside, the interior is mostly wood. Wooden floors, wooden walls. Ancient tapestries and painting depicting events and images, the significance of them being lost to time.

Do I have to memorize all of these?

A tinge of guilt follows that memory, but it's not as if she could change her mind.

Further in, Mars finds her firepit room, and it's here that she stops and turns to Usagi. "Well... here we are. This was my shrine. Maybe it still is, in some way."
Usagi Tsukino has posed:
It's hard not to make a run for the shrine, because she's eager to see it. Despite the earlier tears, these are bits and pieces of them that they're finding. But it's a delicious sort of anticipation, and the walk is nice, and Rei's hand is warm, even through her glove.

She's just looking around, eyes large, mouth open. More tapestries, but unlike those in her room she knows there's something more about these. (Or perhaps there's more to hers, as well, they've just always been...there.)

Usagi gasps at the firepit room, hand slipping out of Rei's to peek around the doorframe, eyes, fingers, odango, and a bit of skirt the only thing visible if one were inside. "Oooo, it feels so Rei in there!"

Her voice is quiet. She couldn't say why, but it feels like she has to stay quiet until she's told it's okay.
Rei Hino has posed:
The firepit is unlit, and everything is still except for the two senshi, yet there's still a sense that this place is no longer dead, but alive. Mars walks across the wooden floors, circling around the firepit and feeling so much nostalgia just by being here. After a moment, she notices Usagi peeking around the door.

"It's okay. I'm not doing a reading now. Did you want to play?"

Yeah, that feels right. She extends her hand towards Usagi, saying, "It's alright. No one's around to be disturbed here, you know."

Still, a part of her appreciates the reverence. As rambunctious as she can be sometimes, these little things, the tiny signs of politeness, show that Serenity cared, that Usagi cares. That the things that mattered to Rei wouldn't be ignored or discarded.

Rei's eyes search the room. It's rather sparse in here, but that's not quite right. There's a lot in this room, but it's hidden out of sight. This place was meant to be free of distractions, and anything unnecessary needed to not be around. Yet it still had to be close.

Rei kneels down, fingers tracing along the wooden boards, finding a place to hook her finger underneath and pull...

A part of the floor lifts, several boards glued together into one solid piece serving as a cover to a hidden compartment, and there are several things underneath. Incense and candles, various ornate objects that once served as ancient tools for long lost rites. She looks into it, lifting the board up and setting it next to the open compartment.

"Huh... I... forgot about some of these."

She picks something up and looks at it, turning it around in her hands until she recognizes it as a candle snuffer. She takes a few moments to look at it, before looking up at Usagi.
Usagi Tsukino has posed:
(Technically, Serenity could have barged in on all her guardians and, legally, be justified in demanding that they drop what they were doing and focus on her. But that never crossed her mind, even when she was so full of energy she thought she'd burst! Plus, watching them so engrossed in what they were passionate about was a very close second to playing!)

If this were a concious thought, it'd be realized as something picked up in this life. Watching Mamoru and Ami study with such fascinating focus (the former of which sometimes interupted by a giggling smooch because he was just too pretty like that!), watching the relaxed peace of Rei praying. Seeing that peaceful, happy expression when Makoto was gardening (but sorry that didn't translate well to when Makoto was baking because MakoCookies.) With Minako, it would probably only be a very rare afternoon of lazy and quiet manga reading between them. Other times they may likely giggle or try to steal what the other is reading, but sometimes.

At the given permission, she laughs, and it's still a quiet sound, and her arms flop a bit, unsure why she did that.

She walks in and watches as Rei kneels and searches. She gives a pleased little 'oooo!' "Secret compartments!"

She hovers, not quite joining Rei on the ground, but when that look is given, she takes it as permissionto join her. She sits, skirts billowing and there's a quiet little scuffle with that, but not enough to be overly destructive. She looks at Rei, and the candle snuffer, then inside the floor, fingers flexing but not touching. "Oh, everything's so pretty, Rei! Are you gonna bring any home?"
Rei Hino has posed:
"I... I don't know." Rei looks over the things. "A part of me wants to know what moon candles smelled like." She picks one up, examines it, and sets it down next to her. "It's probably no big deal to bring some things back. Although, I probably don't want to use all of them up. They don't make them like this anymore."

She stands up, leaving the compartment open. "There's... one thing, that's been nagging at me. Ever since I came here."

Rei walks out of the room, vanishes for a while down some other hallway, and then comes back with a folded bundle of fabric in her arms. She unfolds it, and it glimmers. A solid red robe with a white sash around the middle, with intricate ceremonial patterns embroidered into the cloth. She holds it in front of her, as if she were trying it on in a mirror.

"I think I used to wear this..."

She looks over at Usagi, her gaze unfocused at first as she's lost in thought, and then her gaze focuses. She smiles. "How do I look?"
Usagi Tsukino has posed:
"You could probably light one up long enough for the scent? I used to do that when I couldn't light candles in my room anymore because of, ah, reasons..."

Any evidence on how destructive those reasons were had been well hidden by rugs and the evidence destroyed in Woppletingerbutt. (And if there were such reasons, they weren't life threatening or made while asleep or away. Just...cosmetic. Enough to scare the poop out of a ten year old.)

She tilts her head as Rei stands and goes to get something, but she doesn't stand until Rei comes back. "Ooooo."

Rei's question has her blink, but she responds with the automatic truth. "Well, you've always looked pretty, Rei. I had heart eyes the first day on the bus!" Another blink, and maybe a bit of a blush as she giggles at herself. "Oh! You mean--! I do think you'd look lovely in it!"

She trots over and looks closer. "Oh so pretty!" She looks up at Rei, eyes large with curiosity. "Are you gonna try it on, or would that be sacrificial?"

Hey, half of that word belongs to the one she meant to use!
Rei Hino has posed:
Just long enough for the scent? Well, that makes sense. Hey wait a minute, what does she mean reasons. Mars suspiciously peers at Usagi, wondering just what exactly she means by that. "Geeze, Usagi-chan. You didn't accidentally set your room on fire, did you?"

Well at least Wallygollynuts was around to destroy all the evidence.

Rei blushes, and sticks out her tongue at Usagi in the most tsundere way. "Obviously!" When Usagi comes closer, Rei leans in to give her a one-armed hug. "I think you're very pretty too, Usa-chan."

She looks down at the dress. Would trying it on be a bad thing? Mars's mind automatically fills in the word that Usagi meant to use, or at least the one that Rei assumes she meant. "Is it...? Hmm." She... doesn't think so? It wasn't a ceremony-only thing, as far as she remembers. "I don't know if it'd even still fit me. I think it'd only be bad if someone who wasn't a priestess wore it, and... huh... I wonder if I still qualify."

Well, there's no one around to scold her for it. She gives Usagi a quick kiss, then vanishes again, this time for longer. When she comes back, she's wearing it, along with a red wooden floral hairpin in her long black hair. She reaches up to touch it. "I found it in the dressing room. It just... felt... right somehow?"

Rei twirls around for Usagi to see, and then stops as she clutches her hand over her heart. "It really is... just like I remembered."

She turns to Usagi again. "Ah! Sorry. You wanted to see this place. Was there something in particular you wanted to look at? It's... been awhile..." Massive understatement. "... but I think I might know my way around?"
Usagi Tsukino has posed:
Innocent eyes looking over there, rocking on her heals, maybe a bit of a whistle. "More like set it on scorch?"

At the blush and one-arm hug, Usagi gives the pleased version of her usually devious giggle. And a blush, of course, for the returned compliment!

She scoffs slightly. "Well, yeah, the religion may have changed, but I bet the spirit part's still mostly the same!"

A happy little wiggle and quiet squee while Rei is out of the room because kisses yay but it's quick to vanish when the priestess returns. Instead, she looks at Rei with one part awe and one part adoration. "You look gorgeous!"

For a moment, a ghost of a memory super imposes over reality, but it's really the same image. She comes closer and dances her fingers a bit aganst the hairpin. "It looks right, too! Are you gonna bing that, if nothing else?"

She's not sure why, but she's pretty sure Rei should wear it more often! (Sentimental reasons for a past life for Rei? Usagi's deeply hidden inner caveman going 'girl pretty'? Something else?)

Usagi opens and closes her mouth a few times. What did she want to see?

Sheepish, she realizes she's been caught. "I...mostly wanted to look at Rei looking around."
Rei Hino has posed:
Scorch? Well scorching isn't that bad. Well, it could have escalated into something worse, but it clearly didn't. Mars gives Serenity a look that manages to be both commiserative and unamused.

"Yeah, I mean... I feel like it had less to do with any particular belief system and more to do with... you know, my talents."

Rei looks down over the robe, extending out her arm to examine the sleeves, making small adjustments to the sash. When she hears her girlfriend say she looks gorgeous, she blushes. Looking up at Usagi's arm, which is touching the hairpin, Rei admits, "... I'd like to."

There's a pause, and then she's explaining things a little too quickly. "I mean... it might help with my fire reading some? Like, it probably had some ceremonial purpose and maybe it helped somehow and... I don't know..."

She chuckles at herself for a moment. "Plus, I have to admit I kinda like it."

When Usagi reveals her reasons for coming, Rei's eyes widen, and for a moment she's stunned. After a second or two, her stunned gaze gives way to a softer, affectionate look. "You're sweet. After all, I couldn't exactly watch your back if I was off on my own, wandering around. So you came here with me."

She leans forward, against Usagi, and holds her for a moment. "Thank you, Usa-chan."
Usagi Tsukino has posed:
More innocent whistles!

Usagi gives an eager nod. "Yeah! Or maybe you were born Shinto because it's a religion that resonates the closest to what you believed in the past!"

She's not sure, of course. But it sounds nice!

Usagi giggles and wrinkles her nose at Rei. "Just 'kinda liking it' is probably good enough, you know. Silly."

And it's here that it's discovered, probably not for the first time, that Usagi is really bad at tsundere. She snuggles against Rei. "That's because I'm wonderful and awesome, ahahaha!"

Somehow, she sounds closer to kitten being all tough and attacking the safe target of its mother...
Rei Hino has posed:
"Maybe." Rei bites her bottom lip. "I admittedly don't remember much about it. Gosh that probably sounds really bad coming from a priestess, huh?" She laughs, a little awkwardly. "Although, it was probably polytheistic, I know that much. Eternity MAIN might have information on that if we asked."

Although, she's not sure if she wants to ask. If it turns out that Rei's own soul is older than some of the gods she prays to, what does that say? She isn't sure what she'd do with herself if her faith took that kind of hit. Then again, it's not as if kami were necessarily ever immortal to begin with, nor are they 'masters' or 'lords' in the same way that other religions might present their gods.

Usagi's attempt at tsundere earns her a squeeze from Rei's arms. "You are! Both of those things. My amazing and wonderful Usagi-chan."

And because she's a kitten, Rei reaches up to pet the back of her hair.
Usagi Tsukino has posed:
Usagi shakes her head. "Nope! It's probably just liketrying to remember everything from back when you were two or something. Or if you watched the same movie a billion times one summer and don't watch it agan for years because your brother got annoyed and destroyed the DVD. Like, you watch it again, andyou remember a bunch of things you forgot!"

It's possible that Rei's soul could be older, but it could also be argued that if this were the case, then the kami have still lived longer, have still experienced more. And its possible, too, that part of why Rei is so intune is because her soul is old.

These are the assurances that Usagi would give, if they were ever needed.

But right now, she's not even aware of avoided religious microcrises of faith. So she snuggles against Rei instead with happy hums and a purr at the pet.

For real.

"Purr! Purr!"

After a moment, though, she pulls back. "So what did you wanna see? Or would giving me a tour help? Or did you wanna just look around?"
Rei Hino has posed:
"Ehehehe." Rei listens to Usagi's analogy. It... actually isn't a bad one. "Well, yeah. It's something like that."

What might even be worse than all of that is if the old gods were somehow dead. Nope! Best not to think about it. Moving on. Mooooving on.

She chuckles more at Usagi's purring, not really taking it as discouragement, but when Usagi pulls back Rei pulls away a bit. "Well, I don't know. I guess we could look around some. My old room might be around here somewhere, and there might be other things. I get the feeling that this was a live-in shrine much like Hikawa."

A tour... huh. Well, that might be the best way of going about it, though it'd likely be Mars roaming around and pointing out interesting things to Usagi. "Sure! We could do a tour! If you don't mind a little bit of aimless wandering and me getting lost a few times."
Usagi Tsukino has posed:
And perhaps it's a little too True Crimes. Oh, Totoro, you were so young...

(If it is ever thought about, of course, Usagi would have assurances for that, too. Heck, she just compared former religions to marathoning a movie.)

Usagi perks up. "I wanna see your room! And who knows! Maybe sleepovers were invented already back then!" Most likely, Princess Serenity probably had the first official slumberparty ever... "And oh, I hope your bed is as comfy as mine! It was like laying on something as delicious as Mako-chan's cookies."

She gives a happy little skip next to Rei. "Yay! And of course not! Getting lost is half the fun!"
