Tea and Crump--confessions.
Date of Scene: 05 December 2016
Location: Plot Room #1
Synopsis: Prince Kanata takes Haruka back to his hotel room for recovery after the events of 'Storm of the century number forty-five.' Tea is had. Also. Confessions. Somewhat.
Cast of Characters: Prince Kanata, Haruka Haruno

Prince Kanata has posed:
At first. Prince Kanata tried to take Haruka to Verone. Then he realized he'd be stopped at the door by the security guard there. So he did the next best thing. He took Haruka back to his hotel room, in the Augusta. (Because of course, he went to the fancy hotel with a ballroom.)

He has thus, placed Haruka onto the bed a while ago- and has gone about in the small kitchenette the hotel provides, gotten hot water going.

Pafu is running around like crazy and placing 'way too many hot cloths' over Haruka's head. Aroma is trying to say that's enough and Pafu is not having any of it.

Haruka's probably going to wake up in like a turban of hot washcloths at this rate.

Aroma is readying a tea service because cold unconcious princesses get tea.
Haruka Haruno has posed:
There's a brief mumble of confusion and unhappiness, Haruka's eyes sliding open as she takes in the fact that she's hearing Pafu and Aroma. But they're at the hotel, with Kanata... The thought drifts through her mind, and she considers dozing back off. She hurts, in a way that feels more like she's heard catching the flu feels like. Still, she doesn't feel like she has a cough or anything...

Haruka sits up and immediately regrets it, feeling her whole body throb with pain in protest, radiating from a white-hot point right between her eyes with a surging, pulsing pain. "...What happened?" Haruka asks, squinting against the brightness of the room. Something nags at her, for a moment or two.

Pafu and Aroma ARE at the hotel... she realizes. ...and so am I.
Prince Kanata has posed:
The room is a nice classy Hotel room. A shelf with vases in alternating colors and trendy pop art pictures. The walls are some beige color of some sort- clean painted. There's the smell of boiling water and soon fresh tea being made- before Haruka sits up and Kanata turns his attention away.

He turns the temperature down on the stove and sort of hurries back.

Pafu and Aroma make thier way over too!

"You're up." he says with a smile. "You got hurt very bad I think." he says. "But I think the situation was handled as well as it was going to be." he says. "Some sort of. Cards appeared? I gave them back to the young girl who was being berated by a tiny flying teddy bear apparently."

A wry smile suggests he knows how that feels.

He places a hand to Haruka's head- after removing any latching hot-cloths that Pafu put there if there's any clinging.

"How are you feeling. Besides with a headache. Which you look like you have." he offers politely. "Take it easy. I'm sure sitting up that fast didn't help none."
Haruka Haruno has posed:
Haruka smiles weakly at Kanata. "Sakura-chan and Keroberos," she supplies when he describes them. "Did... you give the cards to Sakura-chan? They're hers, or are supposed to be." The light kind of hurts her head a lot, and if she weren't so weak-feeling she would probably blush. As it is, she leans into Kanata's hand. It feels nice... and she's not cold.

"It feels... my everything feels bruised," she mumbles, snagging a pillow to help herself into a half-sitting position. She leans back against them, letting the pillows support her. The motion hurts, but it's more efficient to do it this way than ask for help. "Even just-- opening and closing my hands makes the muscles scream." She's not sure why, she didn't do much physical...

But when she gives it a little more hazy thought, and turns her mind to the idea that she might be forced to transform within the next reasonably-imaginable amount of time, she almost feels sick. "...Did... any of the past Princess Precure ever overdo it...?" she asks vaguely, closing her eyes against the light.
Prince Kanata has posed:
Hope Kanata says. "Yes, I did." he says. "She seemed to know what to do with them. I did not.". Kanata frowms and removes his hand a bit. "Ah. You did overdo it." he says, as if confirming it before he said it outright earlier. He shakes his head a bit.

"I'm sure they did." he says. "We all overdo it, a little. When it's important." he says.

"Just rest." he says. "You'll need a few days to rest after that one." he says softly. "When you feel well enough, you can go back to your dorm and school." he says. "But you shouldn't try to move too far just this moment. We'll see how you feel tommrow." he offers.

He head tilts. "Have you been driving yourself /that hard/ regularly?" he asks with concern.
Haruka Haruno has posed:
Haruka sighs with relief. If it's just a matter of rest, that's fine-- she's just scared she seriously damaged something. "...Yeah, Sakura-chan is a good girl... Keroberos just sometimes shoves his foot in his mouth." Haruka lets out a heavy sigh.

"I haven't been pushing it that hard often, just..." There's a vague flick of her hand that she instantly regrets as pain lances up her arm. "...I think I pushed it really hard..."

It occurs to Haruka that Kanata might not be familiar with Earth medications. "Um... I think ibuprofen would help with the hurting... and I know there's a type that has sleeping medicine with it, too..." It was something her mom made sure she'd gone off to school with, in case she did get sick.
Prince Kanata has posed:
Hope Kanata isn't exactly a dope when it comes to modern things. He knows medications exist. He does. Admittedly...not know the name or application of these medicines he's mostly relied on his ability to read labels. 'For Headaches!' is pretty clear.

He says. "Ibprofen?" he asks. he taps his bottom lip. "I'll get some. With. uh. Sleep. Medicine?" he asks. Well. He can always asks someone who works at the drugstore, right? Right.

"You just need rest." he offers. "If you were bad off, you'd be unconcious still. Or worse." he says with concern.

"I'll make sure to get some then. Is there anything you need, or want?" he asks.

Aroma comes over with the tea service. Oh! Right. Tea.

Kanata softly picks up the tea and offers it. "Tea with a little bit of honey. It'll help relax." he offers.

"...do you need help drinking?" he asks.
Haruka Haruno has posed:
Haruka nods. "Yeah... I don't remember the name of it, I have some in my dorm, but... you can't get in, can you?" She smiles weakly.

Still, she's glad it's not as bad as it could be. She nods in agreement at his assessment that she needs rest. "...Um... mint candies would be good, too... They're good for touchy stomachs." She reaches out for the tea, only to pull her arm back with a soft cry of pain.

That would be a yes, though Haruka blushes furiously and looks away. The hotel room is one thing- he couldn't get her in the dorm. But him helping her drink? That seems a bit-- that's just... the fact that she likes him makes it worse, so much worse.
Prince Kanata has posed:
Hope Kanata thinks. "I can send Aroma or Pafu to go ge-----" and before he can even finish Pafu is /racing out the window/ because oh god, Haruka is in pain and she feels so bad! He turns back to Haruka and says "Mint candies. Alright. Are you sure that's it?" he asks as he holds the cup of tea out. Haruka tries to reach the tea and pulls her arm down.

Yeah. that's a lot of pain.

He offers to try to help her drink and she... looks away?

.....Did he do something wrong?

"W..would you rather Aroma help you?" Aroma gives a stern salute! He's ready to help! "I'm here-roma~" he insists.

He wears his best smile despite his thoughts.
Haruka Haruno has posed:
Haruka squeaks at Pafu. "...I... er-- no-- it's..." Haruka shakes her head a little. "I-it's not that, it just.. seems... like something--" Her voice squeaks slightly. Still, tea sounds good, and she doesn't want Kanata to think it was something wrong with him...

"It-- seems like something that-- people in a relationship would do," she says, trying to hide her face without moving too much.
Prince Kanata has posed:
Pafu is off! She'll return with the medication from Haruka's dorm room--- as soon as she figures out how to sneak past the guard and back. Maybe he just won't notice her. Yeah that works. It's not like she's a tall purple haired boy. She's a tiny spaniel fairy!

Kanata listens to Haruka attentivly.

It-- seems like something that-- people in a relationship would do.

You can almost hear the dots being put together in Kanata's head with a squeaky marker.

Brain functions come to a halt. Do-- does Haruka care about that? Wait. She's saying that in relation to him. Wait. She is quiet. And blushes a lot. Wait. Wait. Yeah you can almost hear the lock up too of gears to a halt, wheels to a skid, a computer to a beepy blue screen.

He of course. Cannot stand there, for the rest of the night, looking with this idiotic dumbfounded look at Haruka that's slowly forming on his face. He in fact. Shakes it off.

It's basically important, to him, to not dismiss any feelings Haruka has. You don't do that. The worst thing he can say is 'but it's not like that, right?'. No.

Rather, he suggests something ontop of the existing suggestion.

"---but it's /also/ something that a close friend would help you with. Right?" he asks softly as he can.
Haruka Haruno has posed:
Haruka blinks, looking at Kanata's reaction to her-- possibly slightly sideways and awkward kind-of confession that she thinks of him like that. Watches his brain halt for a bit and holds her breath.

She nods a little, looking down at her hands. Does that mean he doesn't think about her that way? ...Given that he's a prince, he probably has some sort of arranged marriage, even if he doesn't have someone else. Of course he would... that's only reasonable, and would go a long way to explaining why he needs help saving people from the Hope Kingdom.

Haruka forces herself to smile at him, even though she really doesn't feel it right now. "Y-yeah, it is." At least right now, if she shows any upset she can blame it on being in pain. Like those tears leaking down her cheeks.
Prince Kanata has posed:
Hope Kanata head tilts a little and then there it is. A frown. It's not a frown of anger. But one of concern, as he pulls the cup away and places it down on the service tray. He looks over to Aroma who looks back at him quizzically. "Aroma. Can I be alone with Haruka for a moment." and he adds. "Please?" he asks.

Aroma head tilts a little in turn, but... Kanata is making that concerned look. It's one he hasn't seen in a long while, given how long Kanata's been gone and lost in the Hope Kingdom, but it's one he understands. Yeah. Aroma makes himself scare, leaving out the window. Maybe he'll go help Pafu obtain all the wrong medication.

He looks back to Haruka. There's certain things you feel when you're tied to hope- and an entire kingdom devoted to it--- and--- that---

Something just stung him. In his back. Repeatedly.

"Haruka-chan. What's wrong." he asks. His voice is light, sweet and sincere.
Haruka Haruno has posed:
He's asking her to tell him what's wrong. That just makes the crying worse, though she's still fighting to keep that pleasant smile on her face. It's not working, because now not only does her body hurt, but her heart does, in a way she didn't think it could. Eventually the facade crumbles, but-- if he has someone--

--if he has someone, she can't tell him, that would only make him more worried. "...it hurts," she mumbles. Her shoulders slump a little, and maybe it's because she's so tired and in pain, but she can't stop herself from talking. "I mean... it makes sense that you probably have someone back home, but--" Haruka chokes on a sob, intentionally turning away and curling up in a small ball, despite the fact that moving hurts. It hurts less than some things, after all. And it lets her hide under the covers, blocking out some of the light that's making her headache worse.
Prince Kanata has posed:
Hope Kanata keeps a straight face through this. It's one of grave concern. "Someone back home?...." he asks curiously. "In.. the Hope Kingdom...?" he asks. He hasn't mentioned his sister before. And how worried he is.

He's begining to wonder if Aroma or Pafu knew of these potential feelings. or even Shamour. Oh, he swears to god. If /Shamour/ knew, it's gonna be the teacher getting a lecture, probably. He is however, expecting that Haruka kept this largely to herself- and if anyone knows. Well. He wonders if she's been blushing when he's talked about or mentioned now.

Context clues-- they're easy if you know to look for them.

But right now- Of all the people in all worlds right now, it's Haruka he cares for a lot at the moment. His sister is pretty much straight tied of course. But she isn't here right now. Haruka is.

"I don't have anyone." he says matter of factly- and truthfully aswell.

He watches Haruka curl into a ball. He doesn't try to unfurl her, or ask. The is a hand, placed over. Near the top though.

"If you're...talking. In the manner. I think you are." he does say truthfully.

"I.... have not had much time. To sit down. And think about such things." he also admits. "I was always on the run. In the Hope Kingdom." he says.
Haruka Haruno has posed:
Haruka uncurls slightly, wiping at her face with her hand and making a soft, unhappy noise of physical pain. "...But-- you don't feel the same way, do you?" It's easier to talk about this while she's hiding under a blanket, for however silly that seems. Maybe it's just that he can't see her face. Maybe it is that some of the sensitivity to light is mitigated by blankets.

"I-- am talking about... I've liked you since I was little..." Because if she's going to confess that she likes him, she might as well say it, at this point. She's not very good at dancing, and avoiding saying it is just dancing around the subject.
Prince Kanata has posed:
Hope Kanata still has that concern frown. He offers. "Easy..." he says. "You're still hurt..." he says.

Kanata would dim the lights if he could, but this hotel is not /that/ fancy. He does walk across the way and turn off the kitchen lights, and a light in the corner. The overheads are still on. It's... not that much dimmer. But it should help long term.

He sits back down on the bed and closes his eyes softly. He doesn't answer right away. Instead.

"....do you remember the day we met?" he asks softly.

"That day...." he says. "I was about to give up." he says. "I was tired. Of running. People I found 'free' were few and far between. Paths forward would close just as soon as they opened." he says.

"---but...."

"Mid thought. Like... a miracle. This key appeared before me. and I grabbed it. Because it felt... hopeful." he says. "-and when I grabbed it. There was this blinding flash and I was in this field in a place that wasn't the Hope Kingdom. And there was a girl. And she was crying." he says. "You. You were crying. Because you wanted to be a princess. And everyone thought that was silly-- a waste of time-- a fantasy."

"I knew why that key led me there. With a dream like that. With a hope like that. I gave the key to you. Because it isn't a silly dream. It isn't a waste of time." he says.

"That dream that day. It's why I /didn't/ give up. It's why I kept going and why I'm here now."

"If it wasn't for you. I wouldn't even be here." he says.

"If it wasn't for you, my home would be lost forever."

"If it wasn't for you, Earth would had already been next." he says.

"It hurts me, a lot, to see you in pain right now. But that's the duty of a Princess Pretty Cure. I can only do my best to help you. And protect you when I am able." he says.

"I want to see you happy. That makes me happy." he says.

He realizes that this is a bunch of flowerly words in the end. And Haruka is hurting both physically- because of a bunch of magical run away cards, and potentially inside-- because of something he possibly said. or missed.

So he does indeed blush himself. Just a little- but his words are also not stammering. "I guess. Now that I think about it. I do feel. That way." he says at the end that sounds like it could also end in a question mark- not on the question itself but----

It's more of an opened ending question mark. 'So now what?'.
Haruka Haruno has posed:
Haruka's breath catches in the back of her throat as Kanata starts talking, and she listens. Once she realizes where he's likely going, her face turns red- not that he can see it- but she also peeks out, moving slowly to avoid hurting herself more.

"I- wh.. you..." Haruka stammers slightly, looking at Kanata wide-eyed with wonder, eyes welling with tears. The expression that goes with them is one of genuine happiness, though. "Y-you showing up that day meant a lot to me, too... You were the first person who didn't call my dream silly, and-- I mean, the only reason I'm in Tokyo and made the friends I did is because of you."

"...I feel the same. I want to see you happy- really, really happy- and safe, no matter where you are."
Prince Kanata has posed:
Hope Kanata nods. "It isn't a good feeling. To call someone's dream silly. or wrong." he says. "Because dreams are just that. Dreams. That is to say. Not all dreams, will come true." he says. A little sadly. "As much as someone who wishes they could sprout wings and fly tommrow. That is unlikely to happen. But maybe they will become a pilot one day." he offers.

He does not tell her to stop being shy, or to come out of hiding. "But your dream...." he says. "It needs to come true." he says. "Only The Grand Princesses can save the Hope Kingdom. And Only The Pretty Cure can become a Grand Princess." he says with a soft nod.

He says with a soft smile. "Regardless of how many others might thing it's 'silly'." he says curtly- in a more knowing manner.

"Right now. I want you to rest. Okay? and...."

"We'll talk. More. Tommrow." he says. "Okay, Haruka-chan?" he asks.
Haruka Haruno has posed:
Haruka nods a little, scooting out from under the blankets a bit, making small noises of discomfort as she does. "I-- think the tea would help... I'm thirsty..." she admits, cheeks coloring slightly. She leans back on the pillows, obviously relieved to not be moving and let something else hold her weight.
