Cast of Characters: | Norie Okana, Unmei |
- Norie Okana has posed:
'Manor 'de 'Crima as she's been calling it , tounge in cheek- is a manor somewhere on the upper limits of Juuban Ave. The outside looks a little ramshackle. Though, the windows have been replaced recently. Dead overgrown grass and plants peek from the snow layer. The front path has been shoveled recent straight to the gate and fence surrounding the property. The gate looks shiny and new as if it's been recently replaced. Arcs in the snow suggest it's opened a lot. Right now it's ajar.
It's fairly quiet. Sometimes a shadow can be seen passing by a window. But it never passes by the next window. Like someone was somehow teleporting around inside.
But that couldn't possibly be correct, right?
It's quiet. No one is at an obvious window directly.
There's no cameras.
- Unmei has posed:
Unmei Tama stared at the building, gulping as she held two rolls of toilet paper. She didn't know about this. It didn't seem like a smart idea. The place DID seem haunted. But then a little voice in her head.
'You wanted friends, right? This is how you become cool, Unmei! Or would you rather go back and--'
'No, I'll do it!' she mentally said. She looked to the other girls and then, slowly, stepped inside, pushing open the gate. Okay. There was no one here. They assured her. But it didn't LOOK ulived in anymore. But maybe... apparently it was being sold or something? No one was supposed to be here today.
Inch by inch she walked to the front door. Just toss the rolls a few times, then run out. The girls were staring with intensity. Would she get in trouble?
Slowly she made her way up to the fence, her hands shaking as she huddled as best she could, trying to keep her breath steady. Almost. There.
- Norie Okana has posed:
Nothing seems to happen. It's quiet. Something still seems 'wrong' here. Maybe it's just the legends getting to you? Maybe it's something else.
The shoveled path suggests someone lives here. Or visits regularly. So. At least your handiwork will be observed right?
But maybe it's better to do it quickly rather than slowly. Right?
Hey.
Where did your friends go?
- Unmei has posed:
Unmei Tama made it up to the door when she realized that... something was definitely wrong. She glanced back. Where had the girls gone? Why'd they all run off like that?
She froze in place and... slowly... turned back... towards the door...
- Norie Okana has posed:
"Hello." says a voice in a dead pan manner from a figure that is standing directly in front of Unmei as she turns around. She didn't hear anyone open the door. Or footsteps. or the crunch of snow. There's no footprints there.
The figure is a girl with slightly pale features. Long purple hair and stunning purple eyes and slightly -- dressed in a long and elaborate dress that looks a few centuries out of date with a Europeon style.
She oddly tilts her head. "What exactly, are you going to do with that paper?" she asks in a manner that suggests she knows, but is asking anyways.
Friends still nowhere in sight.
- Unmei has posed:
Unmei Tama eeped, looking down at the paper and then up at the woman. Her mind worked fast, unfortunately all it seemed to be thinking was 'AHHHHHH!' Finally, she held them out. "T-t-t-they're a welcome to the neighborhood gift! I, err, I mean, for the neighborhood! Yes! They're a gift! Very popular in my home! Country! Toilet paper! Can never have enough!"
Oh gosh she was the worst liar and she was slouching so much she could almost disappear into the ground. "N-nice to meet you," she squeaked.
- Norie Okana has posed:
Lacrima head tilts. "And were would that be from?" she asks. "It sounds really strange. Doesn't it?" she asks. She holds out her hands to accept the toilet paper. She head tilts. "My name is.... Lacrima." she says. "May I ask who you are?" she asks.
No mention of friends. Who. Most certainly didn't get drained and are unconcious just out of sight behind the wall surrounding the property. Nope.
That's totally the case.
- Unmei has posed:
Unmei Tama gulped weakly. "West. Europe. I ummm... here," she was shaking a little, her hands cold and clammy. "My name? It's Unmei." Her hands moved to her lap, bowing politely. "It's... it's nice to meet you. I-I hope you... like... toilet paper."
'You're so bad at this.'
'Shut up, Pin! Is she buying it?!'
'I don't know. Maybe?'
- Norie Okana has posed:
Lacrima head tilts. "West Europe?" she asks. "Have you ever been to Spain? Or. Are you from there?" she asks curiously. She head tilts. "I have no use for toilet paper." she says matter of factly. "But thank you anyways." she says.
Of course. Those functions stopped when she became an undead horror. Toilet paper makes the bathroom look like a normal bathroom though.
She head tilts.
"Right... would you. Like to come in? For tea?" she asks. "I was in the process of making some. Because it is a quiet evening."
- Unmei has posed:
Unmei Tama shakes her head. "N-n-n-no. Britain. I ummmm..." No use for toilet paper?" What did that even MEAN? She was a little scared and wanted to say no chance, scary lady.
Instead she nodded. "Okay. Tea sounds... nice," she said with a nervous grin. "T-thank you very much for your... hospitality."
OH yeah, she was going to die. 'Don't worry, Unmei. I'm here. I won't let anything hurt you.'
- Norie Okana has posed:
Lacrima gently turns softly and opens the door and into the manor they go! The vestibule is a large room, with two sets of stairs- but starting at a small hallway that leads to two smaller rooms- a conservatory, and a study, before getting to the more open part- where more proper hallways branch off to the west and east. She motions to the couch. "Sit." she offers.
She heads down one of the hallways. She returns with an orante silver tray, with orante china tea cups, and an ornate teapot. she pours tea. There's sugar cubes- and one of those tiny grabby tongs for it.
"Britain." she says.
She purses her lips and seems to be searching her thoughts. Britain... Britain...
- Unmei has posed:
Unmei Tama followed behind her, arms clenched tightly and crossed. She was wearing the infinity school uniform, though it looked a size too big on her. Awkwardly set, too. At least in some areas. She sat down upon request, gulping nervously. Why did she say britain? Why did she say europe?
"I, errr, I moved around. A lot. Though," she mumbled. "I, ummm, was adopted. You see. And... lots of different families. so... come from a lot of places." Be vague, that was the important thing. Vagueness.
- Norie Okana has posed:
Lacrima doesn't have strong feelings about Britian. This leads her to belive that the last power's weilder never knew anyone from there. Or never had an important enough interaction. She seems dissapointed as her eyes come to rest back on Unemi.
"Ah." she says.
"I am. Displaced as well. Currently." she says matter of factly. That is mostly true. That is why she's an apparently young oujo living alone in a creepy manor.
"Who were those people you came with." she asks frankly.
- Unmei has posed:
Unmei Tama urked, shuffling nervously as she adjusted her skirt. "Ah, well, ummm, you see. They, err, are my friends. Kind of. Mostly class mates. I mean... I... kind of met them today and they said that-- err, I-I should come say hi. To you. And bring you a gift."
She looked up at the woman. Slowly, she took her cup and then blinked, quickly adjusting her grip to a more... dainty method. "Sorry. It's a really nice house you have here! Very... rustic!"
- Norie Okana has posed:
Lacrima says. "It was abanonded. I took it." she says frankly. "And remodeled the inside. I like the outside the way it is. It gives it.. a sense of...familarity. Somehow." she says pursing her lips.
"Yes. Don't go into the basement." she says frankly.
"And don't go into the bedrooms. I do have. a friend who visits. One of them is hers and I respect her privacy." she says matter of factly.
"How come they didn't seem intresting in saying hi to me with you?" she asks.
Yeah. Lacrima knows what's /actually/ up. She maybe just wants to see how deep Unmei digs her hole for her own amusement.
- Unmei has posed:
Unmei Tama blinked nervously. "Took...it?" she asked softly. What kind of person lives in an abandoned house? Remodeled it, so that was a thing. Maybe took it meant bought it?
"I wouldn't go into the basement, honest! I-I wouldn't go anywhere you didn't say to go! I swear!" She shook her head. Then the subject of her friends came up. "They... errr... they were... shy?" she tried. "Nervous about meeting you?"
- Norie Okana has posed:
Lacrima Says flatly. "Yes. It was abanonded, overgrown property with a dangerous almost condemened manor in the middle. The city was more than happy to give it to someone who would take care of the property and most of it's issues for a fair price."
And also Eclipse sweetheart deals behind closed doors.
"Nervous?" she asks. "Mmmmm. Never seen. Nervous people. Egg someone on. Like that." she says carefully in her usual stilted tone as she taps her bottom lip again.
- Unmei has posed:
Unmei Tama nodded, listening intently. "I-I see. Well, ummm, congratulations! On the house! happy you... like it so much! Eh heh heh--"
And then she said that and almost dropped her tea, spilling it on her uniform a little. "A-ahhhh..." Ow ow owwwww..." She put it down and grabbed a napkin, dabbing at it. She then looked up and... quickly looked away. "O-okay, fine. T-they aren't my... aren't my friends. They just... just wanted me to tp the house and... and that's all. Please don't call the police, it won't happen again, I swear. I'm so sorry I didn't think anyone lived here they said it was condemned!"
- Norie Okana has posed:
Lacrima head tilts. "I'd rather not call the police." she says matter of factly. "They have more important things to do." she says.
She frowns. "I know. I am not dense." she says matter of factly. She frowns and picks up a fancy- non-disposable napkins from the tray and helps Unmei clean herself up.
"I am just wondering why." she says. "Who would care if the place as abanonded then?" she asks curiously.
She has been sipping her tea. With perfect poise and class.
- Unmei has posed:
Unmei Tama gently rested her hands on her knees, sighing. "I just..." She closed her eyes. "I... I just moved here and they... said they thought I might be kind of... cool. So I... I was doing what they said. They said they'd be my friend if I did it. I didn't want to hurt anyone, honest. I mean, it's just toilet paper. Bio degradable. The first rain and it'd disappear."
She poked her fingers together. "I guess they were just messing with me though. I'm sorry..."
- Norie Okana has posed:
Lacrima seems to listen as she sips tea and places it back down on the tray after a bit. "I can't claim to know much about friendship these days." she says matter of factly. "I am often not sure of myself. Let alone others." she says.
"But."
"I do not think... a friend would let you do such a thing alone?" she asks. "I think that sounds right." she says tapping her bottom lip.
"Or...maybe a friend. Would had stopped you." she says.
"As not to get in trouble." she says.
"Maybe one of those two things." she says frankly.
"I seem to. Remember. Things like that? Maybe." she says softly.
- Unmei has posed:
Unmei Tama blinked a few times and lowered her eyes again, sinking into the chair. "yeah. Probably. I've... never really been good at making friends or anything like that. I ummmm... thank you. For... not calling the cops on me. I'm sorry I... tried to tp your house," she mumbled gently.
"You must be older than you look, if you own this house on your own. I would have thought you were around my age."
- Norie Okana has posed:
Lacrima hrmms? "Oh. I'm only thirteen." she says flatly. "But I don't have any parents. Or family. At the moment." she says. That she'd not want to visit right now. But wants to very much. "So. I live here." she says flatly.
"Does that concern you?" she says.
"I'm perfectly fine here, alone." she insists.
- Unmei has posed:
Unmei Tama blinked, then shook her head. "No, not at all. Parents suck," she said flatly, before cringing. "Err, I mean. If they... passed on, I'm sorry. I just... err, if you make do, that's good! Congratulations! Not having someone to try and... control you like that must be very nice."
She nervously reached out and grabbed her tea, drinking a little more. "You're, ummm, very refined for a thirteen year old."
- Norie Okana has posed:
Lacrima head tilts.
"I am an... a 'inheritor'. Of a noble... 'title' of sorts." she says. "And sometimes it's important to act like it." she says. "Even if it may not be offical. Or recognized. In this day and age." she says frankly.
Also. It helps keep irrational thoughts down sometimes. Like. Maybe I should just drain this entire subway car of people.
She looks over to the right a moment and seems to stare. If Unmei will look. She'll see an elaborate grandfather clock ticking away. She looks back.
"I will have matters to attend to soon." she says matter of factly.
- Unmei has posed:
Unmei Tama nodded and quickly put the tea down. An escape! yes! "Well, uhhh, it was really nice to meet you, Lacrima. We really must do this again sometime, okay? How about, err, after the holidays! You're a great person, nice to meet you. I'll just go ahead and get out of your hair!"
She was practically jumping at the bit to get out. Pin snorted from her hair. 'A little desperate, aren't you?'
'She's terrifying! I feel like she's going to reach into my chest and pull out my heart!'
'Don't worry, they're shielded.'
'What?'
'Nothing.'
- Norie Okana has posed:
Lacrima will help Unmei to the door and let her back out. "Ah...."
"You'll find your friends. Sleeping. A bit that way. Where the wall bends. Behind a tree." she says matter of factly.
"Perhaps we'll meet again." she says.
Then she closes the door. And the manor goes back to that uncomfortable quietness about it.
- Unmei has posed:
Unmei Tama nodded, then froze. Wait, sleeping? Why would they...
"Oh. Oh dear. I almost died there, didn't I?"
'No, you didn't. Magic, child. You could have taken her. Probably. Leave them.'
"But they--"
'They abandoned you. Without a moment's hesitation. Call an ambulance if you wish. But don't waste your time on them.'
".... Okay." She turned and walked away, stopping only a moment at a pay phone to give them a call.
