- Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama has come to the ice skating rink with Eilam in tow- for better lack of 'carefully walking close to Eilam so he doesn't worry about falling flat on his butt and he usually walks slow.'. Reiko doesn't seem to mind very much.
The rink is one downtown. It's an inside one- a domed structure that runs during the winter as an ice skating rink and during the summer? Rolling Skating rink. But ice skating is so much prettier. And graceful.
She wanted to take Eilam to go watch people ice skate. Which is fun in it's won way, right?
Also there's Hot Chocolate. Lots and lots of Hot Chocolate. Well. For her. Anyways. She dunnos what Eilam wants to drink. She wants Hot Chocolate. Maybe with Marshmallows.
No koi in sight. Yet. She taps her bottom lip a bit.
"Christmas is soon." she says.
"It's not really a major holiday here." she says. "Like In America? I hear it's a biiiiiig deal! But... in Japan we just kind of. Give a couple presents to those we /really/ like." she says. "Like--- likelike." she says.
"But we still do lights and tress and stuff to thou and that's wierd!" she says.
- Eilam Hisakawa has posed:
Eilam himself wasn't actually dressed all that warmly. Which might be considered a bit odd, if not for the fact that he was almost always wearing something fancy when he was out. And today was no different, with the designer suit, Armani actually, not that most people would recognize it as such. The only real stand-out thing about the ensemble, however, was the pink tie he had on. "Mm hmm, it is much more popular in America. Though as much as they like to act like it's a pure religious holiday, really it is a bit more of a shopping spree. Still, no harm in getting things for the people you like, right? Even if I much prefer to give gifts as I like, not out of obligation."
Normally Eilam would at least pretend he was feeling a little better, so she wasn't walking at his pace so much, but he'd been tired lately and it was showing in the more subtle ways. Things she might have come to notice if she paid attention enough.
"Thank you for inviting me along, if I did not say so earlier. I have not... ever been to a place like this. I mean, I have been, but not really... participated. My balance is already something that comes and goes, so I have never quite wanted to chance losing it. Maybe if I held onto the edges or something. ...wonder if they would insist I not bring the stave with me if I go in. Hm."
- Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama has no problem keeping a slower pace for Eilam. She's noticed the slower movement. She attributes this to this just being an offer day. Or off days. If it gets worse-- well. Maybe she'll say something then. For now. She watches and waits.
Into the rink proper. She walks along the sides and finds a bench to sit on as she motions for Eilam to finally have a seat. It's facing the rink. People are skaying! Some are couples- sharing time together. Some are single people with friends enjoying themselves. Some seem to be practicing something fancier. Spins and what not.
She waits for Eilam to sit then sits herself and beams. Wide smiles! "I like watching people skate. I'm kind of... a koi outta water. On the ice." she says meekly. "At least. When I'm Reiko. I'm actually pretty good for some reason when I transform..." she says quietly.
She remembers that Ice Skating party almost a little over a year ago. Where she met.... Hunter. Haru.
She shakes it out of her head, but the change of expression surely suggests she was thinking something sad just for a moment. But it doesn't seem to have any long term effects on her mood.
"Well I don't see anyone else with canes out there. So. Probably not?" she asks meekly.
"...I wonder when ice skating became a thing anyways..." she says tapping her bottom lip- as she considers just how long Eilam has lived in conjunction with where they are.
- Eilam Hisakawa has posed:
"I... I am not sure. At least, it's not anything I've ever looked into. I know it became more popular as a leisure thing in the early eighteen hundreds or so, mostly because I recall seeing a painting by an artist, I want to say Henri Rayburn?" He didn't sound sure on the name. "There's a painting, the one I was talking about, in Scotland, a minister I believe skating on ice. From around 1800 or so. ...maybe. It has been a while since I saw it, or thought of it."
That got a bit of a soft laugh out of him, thinking about it. Thinking back on his own memories. "You will have to show me at some point, unless you are a bit too embarrassed? Maybe we both can skate somewhere while you are as such, if you feel you can lead while transformed." As he spoke, Eilam had joined her seating of choice and pulled out his cell phone to do something with it before offering it towards her, a picture of said painting appearing. "Google still amazes me. It... it may seem simple to you, but to me, it is... I mean, I understand it, the concept... things like that. But that it exists. Mm... the world has moved so fast in the past hundred years. Fifty even... twenty five. It seems new innovations are just rocketing into place."
- Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama smirks. "I imagine Google would seem like an all seeing oracle to you." she says with a short giggle. "Considering you'd have to find books on subjects written by people who had the time to write down thier knowledge before that." she says.
She head tilts but does look at the picture. "So at least the 1800's. Those look like very basic skates though, don't you think?" she asks curiously. "Compared to today's I mean." she says.
She purses her lips a bit. "I've been working on a school project before the term is over." she says.
"A painting of a scene from the park, of people skating on the pond there." she says.
"Naru-chan said it looked very good! I'm just worried I'm going too... boring. With it." she says softly.
"I like to draw things from my head more. Than I do actual subjects sometimes." she says.
- Eilam Hisakawa has posed:
Eilam nodded to such as he took his phone back finally, tucking it into his pocket again. "That. While I do not find it... magical, I understand the science and technology behind it, the concept that there is a massing of all human knowledge at the fingertips, whenever, wherever... that the world has advanced this far in such a short span of time. It is... a bit much at times. Perhaps a bit hard to explain. And also quite terrifying, truly. In the past things could be gotten rid of, hidden. Records, traces of people, that kind of thing. But now the internet. It... nothing goes away, ever. If it is propogated, it is immortal. As unaging as I am."
Then something made Eilam curious. "Now I wonder if the old fable of the 'Philosophers Stone' is true, just a magical version of Google." But there he went, rambling a little. "And what does it matter if it is too boring? You are drawing for you, right? Your choice for your project? Unless it is a commission for someone else, to their tastes, be as boring as you like. Or as unboring. Boring is good sometimes. I am often very much so, I imagine, haha. Which is probably nothing you would be too excited about, right?"
- Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama smiles wryly. "School says it has to be based in reality for the final project. So none of my drawing Prism Keepers sitting on skylines looking out at a night city." she insists. "And things like that." she says. "That I would normally draw." she mumbles.
She grins a bit. "I dunno." she says. "Lots of magical legends may or may not have a basis in reality now." she says. "Excalibur.. the Holy Grail.. The 7 Wonders of the World.. Greek Fire..." she says as she taps her bottom lip.
She ohs and stands up. "I'm going to go get some Hot Chocolate quick. Would you like some? Or anything else? I think they might have apple cider.. or tea. Hot Drinks for cold days and all~" she says a little softly.
- Eilam Hisakawa has posed:
"Based in reality, yes? A base does not mean you can only stay with reality. I can draw a picture based on a line and get quite creative. Even if it would look like a four year old drew it. But in the end, it is your choice. Oh, something to drink? Hm..." Eilam smiled a bit, "Sure." and he reached into his suit to pull out his wallet, which he seemed to keep in his pocket rather than his pants. Old habits die hard, considering it was also on a small metal chain, hooked to his clothing. If she cared to ask, well, that was on her. Eilam pulled out some money(albeit way too much) and offered it to her. "Think this will cover the costs? I am not sure if they charge more in places like this or reasonable prices. If they will do such, double chocolate for mine. One benefit to my condition, I do not gain weight no matter what I eat. So I can eat like a fat kid and still look pretty."
- Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama does take the money. "Well, I'll get it fancy then." she insists with a slight smile. This isn't exactly The Ritz. 'Fancy' probably means a buck more or something. Maybe /two whole dollars/ for what Reiko gets.
Reiko aquires a hot chocolate that has whipped cream and also chocolate flakes sprinkled over it and also in the drink proper. She gets Eilam a double hot chocolate which is a hot chocolate with some chocolate syrup and she also gets it done up with whipped cream.
She returns. "Yeah. THat's why I only drew vauge shapes for the people. I'm going to. Make my own people I think. Than copycat who was actually there." she says.
She smiles. "Oh. It must be so hard. Being so pretty. and handsome~" she sings just a litttttle teasingly.
- Eilam Hisakawa has posed:
"Just a little." he said softly as he took the drink and sniffed lightly at it. "Lots of attention, not that I mind /too/ much. I have never really been one for relationships, given I mostly... restart every four or five years. Hard to really... care about others and then just leave like that. Hoping there might be a way to change that, though. What, with magic and all. And you." As if somehow she and magic was going to fix things.
Looking at the cream a moment, he reached with a finger to stick it into the cream on one side and make a small hole, reaching into his coat to wipe said finger on a napkin he had folded up in a pocket inside, before finally raising it to drink some. "I imagine you'll get a lot of attention when you get older as a result, too."
- Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama head tilts. "But... isn't the old saying go like... 'It's better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all?'" she ask softly. "I mean. I guess it's not as severe... but I've already kinda felt that twice-- if you're counting. Heartbreak. Or something." she admits. "and it does feel bad. but..." she says. "I still have those memories. Right...?" she asks.
"Ugh. That probably sounds lame compared to what you'd feel. I'm sorry." she wilts a bit as she pokes a spoon at her whipped cream. Yeah she's eating most of that."
She takes a proper sip soon though.
"Ohhhh the flakes melted already. I didn't get syrup though." she says softly.
She does blush a bit and huff. "I don't even know what I'll lo----" she purses her lips with a huff. Because. She kinda does know what she'll look like. Stupid magic. Ruining surprises.
