Synopsis: | Sakura brings the love canines, Ikoko and Ayana, their Christmas gift. Then she talked for a while, found out about Ikoko's locket, their romance(Kyaaaaa) and finally fell asleep snuggling a big fox. |
Cast of Characters: | Sakura Kinomoto, Ayana, Ikiko Hisakata |
- Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto hummed softly, happily as she held the small, wrapped bundle in her arms. She was wearing a cute little santa outfit! That Tomoyo had made her for the holiday and, well, it felt kind of nice delivering her gifts dressed the part. She walked to the walled off home, before spinning to a stop and then reaching out and knocking on the door.
She did it lightly, though. But, after a bit, did ring a bell if they had one. She hoped it wasn't too late. She also wished she'd brought gloves. It was cold and her hands were getting chilly, turning a little red.
- Ayana has posed:
Snoozing on the couch after a large Christmas feast is one of Ayana's favourite pastimes. This is not a pastime she was aware was a favourite until this year, but changing priorities to include it at the top of her list wasn't hard. This time last year she was possessed by a darkness so profound she couldn't really comprehend Christmas.
Now, she's possessed by a laziness so profound she can't really comprehend effort. The sound of the bell ringing, though, does cause the little fluffy fox's ears to twitch. She opens one piercing blue eye to stare towards the door, then makes a whimpering noise and oozes off the couch before slowly padding in the direction of the door.
- Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Being more used to Christmas feasts than Ayana, Ikiko is not quite as lazy-full as her girlfriend. She had been nearly dozing off, idly petting the fox, but the sound of the doorbell caught her attention, as did Ayana's movement.
"Here, I think you need to relax a bit more," the mostly-human girl smiles, gently scooping up the fox en route to the gate. The extremely well-fed Ayana makes for more than the usual armful, but the warmth of a lazy fox in one's arms is nice in the chill winter air.
Opening the window-hatch in the gate, Ikiko blinks, then smiles. "Merry Christmas, Sakura-chan!" the older girl beams. "I see you're dressed for the holiday season!"
- Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto nodded. "Uh huh! and you two are the last on my list," she said happily, holding out the bundles. Wrapped up(awkwardly). Inside were their fans and cookies. "Merry Christmas!" she said happily. Her hands were a little red from the cold and trembling a bit. "I wanted to drop these off, then I'll get out of your hair."
- Ayana has posed:
The little fox lets out a small yip of pleasure as she's scooped up, all too happy to curl up in Ikiko's arms. She nuzzles her noze against Ikiko's neck, but keeps one eye peeled to peer out the door when it opens. When she spots Sakura, the black fox blinks in confusion, then lets out a low whine of curiosity followed by another yap. Then it's a squirm and a wiggle before she tries to leap the distance and land on Sakura's shoulder.
- Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
The sudden lack of fox in her arms means that Ikiko doesn't have to try juggling between keeping Ayana balanced and accepting the gifts. She looks inside of hers, a warm smile spreading across her face. "Thank you so very much, Sakura-chan!" Ikiko grins, opening the gate to give the younger girl a carefully big hug -- big for the appreciation, and carefulness for not dislodging or unbalancing Ayana from her perch.
- Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto eeped as suddenly she had a fox on her shoulder. She then let out a yelped, before hugging the other girl back. Her hands were as cold as they looked, like little ice cycles. And her cheeks were all cute and rosy. Were she taller and fatter she'd make a great santa.
Once Ikiko pulled back, she'd reach up and begin petting the fox fervently... partially because it warmed her hands. "Are you two having a good holiday? And I'm sorry I didn't bring any burgers this time, Ayana-san."
- Ayana has posed:
The little fox's eyes widen as Sakura half startles. Unlike a cat, the fox can't dig its claws in, so it just balances as best it can until the small girl figures out what she's doing. Of course, all ofthis is forgiven and forgotten when the petting begins. The little fox licks Sakura's hands in response, making small purring noises.
- Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
"It's been a pretty good Christmas!" Ikiko beamed. "One of my uncles tried his hand at fried chicken, and it turned out pretty good, while my immediate family made a lot of scallion-stuffed beef rolls as usual. Those are so good~!"
She gives the younger girl a wryly sympathetic smile. "Other than the cold, how's your holiday going, Sakura-chan?"
- Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto grinned and then, if allowed, would scoop Ayana up for a great, big hug. "It's been wonderful! I got up bright and early and made breakfast for dad, Toya and... Yukito-san..." There were hearts fluttering off her when she said that last name. "He stayed off last night..."
She then eeped and blushed. "A-and then daddy took us out to this cute little festival! Then Tomoyo-chan came over and we exchanged gifts! Thanks to Haruna-sempai I was able to buy her something super nice and great. She got me this!" She did a little spin. "It's cute, isn't it?" And then gave Ayana another huggle, burrying her face in the warm fur for a moment. "And then Toya and Yukito-san went off to help with some things at his job. He wouldn't even let me come," she grumbled, pouting a bit. "But then I realized I had to deliver the gifts and daddy said it was okay for me to be out a bit extra late today! So I managed to give allll the gifts out, tee hee!" She smiled up at the other girl with a big grin, looking warmer already thanks to Ayana.
- Ayana has posed:
Maybe Sakura's warmer, but with the door open, and all of the girl's warmth being leeched away, Ayana lets out a soft, plaintif whimper. The hugs are nice, and all, but very suddenly, Sakura is holding not a small fox, but an unclad young girl. "Come inside already," Ayana whimpers as she drags Sakura inside. "It's cold out there." And then just as suddenly she's a fox again, only now she's bounding down onto the floor and towards the staircase.
- Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata manages to stifle a giggle at Ayana turning human long enough to communicate plainly to Sakura. "I'm sure my family won't mind, and you can warm up before delivering more of your presents," she points out to the younger girl, even as she's guiding her towards the warmth of the house.
- Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto let out a sigh of relief once she's dragged inside. "But won't your--" And then she said that. "Well, if you're sure." To be honest, she really ,really, realllllly had wanted to come inside. She'd already delivered all the others and now she was cold! So coming inside was so nice.
She'd follow the fox and... once inside... Would take off her shoes and coat, before following them. Once there was a proper place to sit she'd rub her hands together and blow on them a bit. It had been cold. "You're friend is just the cutest little fox, isn't she?" she asked with a grin.
She then looked up. "I ummm... I am sorry though. I was hoping my magic would be strong enough I could bring out dash, physically, so he could play with you too. But I'm still not strong enough to maintain their forms."
- Ayana has posed:
The little fox does not emerge. Instead, it's Ayana, now a kitsune again, but at least with the modesty of a dress on. It's short and white, decorated with little blue flowers that don't quite match her eyes.
"Why would we want to play with that little monster?" asks the kitsune curiously as she descends the stairs, bare feet slapping lightly on the wood. "He is not welcome here. But you are for taking him way."
- Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
While Ayana was acquiring clothes, Ikiko was helping to get Sakura warmed up. First, she wrapped a pre-warmed blanket around the younger girl -- namely, the blanket that she and Ayana had loosely wrapped around themselves while relaxing on the couch; next, she brought in a tray with three mugs, an electric kettle, and an assortment of drink options, including instant cocoa, instant cider, and various flavors of tea, setting the tray down on the coffee table and distributing drink appropriately.
Ikiko then sat down on the couch with a second blanket, an arm out to the side with the blanket partially tented on it to invite her girlfriend to snuggle with her. "Dash liked hogging all of the affection, much to Ayana's detriment," she points out. "But thank you for the offer, nonetheless!"
- Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto blinked and then sat up straighter. "I'm not a monster!" she said instinctively. Then blushed when she realized... "Oh. You meant Dash. Err, sorry." Ohhh, she got cocoa. Her cheeks getting all red again. "You don't need to go to such trouble for me." She obviously appreciated it. And then she gave a tiny lil sneeze... That sounded oddly like dash's kyu, just to give ayana flash backs.
Shehe nodded. "Oh. I'm sorry, I didn't realize you guys had so much trouble with it. I'll make sure not to bring it back and bother you, sorry." She smiled none the less. "Though Dash was very fond of both of you! I can still feel the way it feels when it thinks of the both of you."
- Ayana has posed:
Ayana bares her fanged teeth at the reminder of Dash's little noises; not a pleasant memory, to be sure. Grabbing a mug of tea, she deliberately makes her way to sit down separate from both other girls, kneeling on the ground with her back to the cushions. "The feeling was not mutual. Dash is a jerk. I don't like him."
- Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
"Fond of most of the family, but mostly fond of teasing Ayana," Ikiko notes ruefully as she stirs her mug of cider. After taking a sip, she scoots over so she's within reach of her girlfriend and reaches over to massage one of Ayana's ears. "As long as it doesn't think it has a rival for your snuggles, I don't think you'll have any trouble with Dash, Sakura-chan."
- Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto nodded, grinning. then gave a little giggle. "I see. Yeah, a lot of the cards can be quite playful." She paused. "and not know their own strength. I mean, throwing around a tractor at people? How rude! It really could have hurt somebody. If Mara-chan hadn't been so strong..."
She shook her head in disappointment, then glanced to her pockets. "Yes, I am talking to you. That was still a very naughty thing to do." Before sighing. "And no I'm not mad. Just disappointed." She then smiled up to them. "Oh,he's been very helpful. It and jump made delivering these a lot faster. Colder, but faster."
- Ayana has posed:
Ayana's fuzzy ear flickers in disapproval as Ikiko scoots closer, but she doesn't actually say anything. Instead, the kitsune raises her tea to her lips and--is she leaning into that ear petting? Surely not. When she lowers her tea, she turns away again, as if trying not to let herself be mollified. "You should just burn that card," Ayana says to Sakura. "There's no sense in keeping a card that's that much of a jerk."
- Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata grins and scoots a smidge closer, reaching over to massage the other ear. "If Jump affects jumping about as much as Dash affects running... yeah, that would be an effective combo for getting across town in a hurry!" she nods to Sakura.
When Ayana mentions burning the card, Ikiko gives the kitsune a look of disagreement. "It just needs to be trained to not interfere in the snuggles of two girlfriends," she replies, leaning over to kiss the top of Ayana's head.
- Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto gasped, her hands going instinctively to her pocket. "I-I would never! Even if I could destroy them, I never, ever would! I-I know it upset you, but... but it's still a creature. A living spirit that has its own thoughts and feelings. It may have made some bad mistakes in the past but... but who hasn't?"
She quivered a little in place. "And... and even if it deserve to be... it's not its fault. It's mine." She lowered her eyes. "If you have to hate something, hate me. If I hadn't messed up, dash would have never been out here, alone. It never would have bothered you."
Then blinked. Her cheeks turned bright red and she stared with wide eyes. "Y-you two are... are girlfriends? I-I thought you two were sisters!" ... Really? Her whole face was red now. And then she remembered that ayana had been naked for a moment there and oh wow her face couldn't have gotten any redder as she covered it with her hands.
- Ayana has posed:
Ayana's ears flicker again in disapproval, but she still doesn't stop Ikiko from petting her. Indeed, she still seems more prone to lean into those pets. Just a little. Not that she'd admit to it. The kiss to the top of her head causes her ears to fold down just a little in submission as she looks towards Sakura.
"It is not your fault," protests Ayana irritatedly. "It could have decided to be nice and accept the fact that I offered it my own food, but instead it was mean and hurtful."
But then Sakura's figuring out the actual nature of Ayana and Ikiko's relationship, and the kitsune tilts her head just a little in confusion. "What's wrong with us being girlfriends?" she asks with a faint huff. "Even if I was still a fox, Iki-chan would be taking me for walks." She raises her chin and tugs at the collar around her neck as if to emphasize. "Do you have something against us being girlfriends?"
- Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
"Not a lot of elementary students have romantic relationships, much less live with their romantic partner," Ikiko points out to Ayana. "So it's probably more a case of surprise than disapproval."
She refrains from holding up her hands in a campfire-basking stance in Sakura's direction, although she's silently impressed by the amount of heat that blush is giving off. While she's not fully certain about it, Ikiko would not be surprised if the younger girl would currently glow in the dark from the strength of the blush.
- Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto blinked and then nodded. "Y-yeah. Dash is a bit spoiled. I think Clow spoiled it rotten," she said with a sigh.
Her eyes went wide and she shook her head. "W-what? NO! I don't, it's just so..." and then she squealed. "It's so cute! Oh my gosh you even take her for little fox walks? Oh my gosh!" And she totally sqweed. She must have found EVERYTHING adorable! "You two must be absolute soul mates to be together like this so young! Eeeee!" And wiggled in her seat a little, cupping her cheeks and still bright red. "It's just the most adorable thing ever!"
- Ayana has posed:
Ayana opens her mouth to say something else, but is cut off by Ikiko's explanation, and Sakura's own rebuttal. She blinks in confusion, instead, and her ears flicker straight up and alert. "It's not normal?" she asks Ikiko confusedly. "But Reiko-chan is always mooning after boys, and everyone gets so very interested in who is going to a dance with who." Beat. "Besides, I'm not an elementary studdent," she says with an air of haughtiness.
- Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata giggles, then leans over and kisses Ayana on the tip of her nose -- best way to derail haughtiness! "Falling in love is pretty common, sure, but ongoing relationships are less frequent," she points out. "And while you're in middle school, I'm still an elementary student! For the next few months, at least."
She then gives Sakura an apologetic shrug. "It's a bit complicated, but living each other's entire emotional histories in a rushed flashback caused by a sort of minor incident involving my magical locket kind of helped," the older girl noted.
- Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto stared, her eyes getting even wider and wider. Oh my gosh they were so in love and it was so cute and romantic and adorable and she just squealed in place. Then gasped, looking away. "I-I'm not intruding, am I? I'm so, so sorry! I-I know these kinds of holidays a-are supposed to be romantic and-and I never meant to cause any problems!" She took another sip of her cocoa, mostly to calm her nerves and give herself something to do other than just fidget in her seat. Though she did a lot of that.
"And I think it's really sweet. Sometimes I wish Yukito-sempai would move in with us... sigh..." Her own little love hearts.
- Ayana has posed:
Ayana scrunches up her nose at the kiss, then rolls her eyes and kisses Ikiko on the lips--right there in front of poor Sakura! "Well, anyone who falls in love and doesn't have a relationship like ours is stupid," she declares. "I can't imagine living life any other way than with you." She smiles, then glances towards Sakura and sighs. "You're not interrupting anything. I invited you in, remember?" she asks, then raises her tea to her lips. "You just need to find a girlfriend, too," she notes before drinking it.
- Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata mouths 'or a boyfriend' to Sakura from behind Ayana. Still a valid choice, Ayana's opinion of boys after the chain reaction fiasco with Kukai notwithstanding. "Just remember not to rush into a relationship just for the sake of being in a relationship," she advises out loud.
- Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto blinked a few times and then sighed, cupping her cheeks and now she was positively glowing. "W-well, I never put much thought into a girl friend but oh I can't wait until I have a boy friend and it's Yukito-sempai. He's so nice and kind and he's so smart and he has the biggest appetite and he always has a piece of candy for me and he's always looking out for me and talks so nicely to me and he's nothing at all like my big brother he's just the nicest boy in the whole wide world!"
- Ayana has posed:
Ayana wrinkles her nose in distaste at Sakura's decision. "Boys are stinky," she notes disapprovingly, "but if you think you want a boyfriend I guess that's your problem. Anyways," she notes as she sets her tea aside, "I was enjoying pets. I'm going to go back to that," she explains, before shrinking back into a fox. Her dress falls down around her, and the little black fox has to scoot its way out from under the clothes, then leans against Ikiko's legs meaningfully.
- Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata puts down her mug and scoops up the fox, then sidles over closer to Sakura, placing Ayana in a cozy nook between the two girls. After all, to most canids the only thing better than a bunch of pettings is two bunches of pettings! And besides, on the petter's side of things, having a friend to help contribute pettings is more fun than doing all of the petting yourself!
- Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto grinned wide and joined in with a happy gusto. There was no end to her loves and cuddles, it seemed. The only thing better than one pet to pet was two pets to pet. She then glanced up at Ikiko and smiled.
"So... you two are in love, r-right? How, ummm... how did you... tell her? And, ummmm... how, errr.... how did you know it was meant to be?"
- Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
How best to tell a complicated story? Well, in this case, curated truth might be the best route. "Remember how I said something about an incident with my magical locket and living each other's emotional histories?" Ikiko remarks. "We were just friends at the time, and due to that incident I found out that she was willing to risk our friendship in an effort to keep me safe, because she cared for me. Since she cared for me that much and I cared for her about as much, that's basically when it went from friendship to love. As for telling her..."
She giggles. "I was kind of able to cheat," the older girl admits sheepishly. "As a side effect of the incident, we were able to pick up on each other's emotions, almost like we were feeling our own. So I didn't have to say anything to tell her I loved her; I could just send my feelings at her, and use my actual words to try to convince her not to give up on us -- and herself -- just because of some of the rest of what was going on at the time."
- Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto gave a content, romantic sigh. "So you two share a deep, romantic bond even deeper than anything else. That's so sweet and adorable," she mumbled, a hand cupping her cheeks. "And she's a fox, too! It's like a girlfriend AND a pet at the same time! That's so wonderful! You two must be so happy together!"
She gave her a big, happy smile. "I'm so happy you two found each other. Is the uhhh.... locket taken care of now?"
- Ayana has posed:
At the word 'pet' the little fox gently nips at Sakura's hand, clearly displeased with the word.
- Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
"More or less," Ikiko shrugs. "As far as I can tell, my great-grandfather never expected more than one person to be touching it when it gets activated; as long as I'm the only one touching it when I go to henshin, there shouldn't be a repeat of the incident.
"As for the bond... well, it got clobbered by external magic later, so there's no longer an actual link, but our feelings for each other were well-established by then," she clarifies.
- Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto nodded, then gasped. "Wait, it's because you transformed together? Oh my gosh that's even MORE romantic! Eeeeee! So you can both turn into a magical girl together? Kyaaaaaa!" She actually kyad.
"Awwww. But that's so sweet! Having someone you're so close with that you can even feel what the other is feeling without having to be told. I hope when I get a boyfriend... or I guess girlfriend, we share a bond like that."
- Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
"It's... a lot more complicated than that, and the transformation didn't actually go all the way through," Ikiko notes wryly. "We got the emotion flashbacks, then wound up disoriented with the transformation canceled due to incompletion. The Lycan Locket still only works for me -- and probably most of the rest of my family, but there's only two of us who have ever used it -- while Ayana has her own henshin item."
- Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto nodded. "Ohhhh. Well, that's still pretty cool. What's yours--"
Then she froze. "W-wait, lycan? You mean... l-like... like a werewolf? Y-you turn int oa b-big, scary, e-eat ppeople and leave just the bones werewolf?" She stared up with wide, frightened eyes. hugging Ayana so tightly.
- Ayana has posed:
Ayana squeaked at the tight hugging, then nibbled on Sakura's hand again. Clearly, she's not pleased with the little girl. It's hard to imagine why.
- Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata giggles softly. "Yes, I'm a werewolf," she nods, smiling kindly. "A really, really, really diluted werewolf. Remember how I looked as a magical girl when you caught Dash? That's as wolf-like as I get. An average werewolf has a full human soul and a full wolf soul crammed into a single body, which is why traditional werewolves are the way they are. Normally, the only way to resist the curse of lycanthropy is to either have a soul as strong and pure as diamond, but that's pretty rare. My great-grandfather Yuuki made the locket so it would strengthen his soul like a bundle of bamboo: amplify it to the strength of ten or twenty men, and perhaps he could resist it when he fought the werewolf that was around here when he was a young man."
She idly touches the locket. "It worked... sort of. He was bitten during the fight and a wolf soul invaded his body, but it was outnumbered by about ten or twenty to one, so he was able to retain his humanity, and when he deactivated the locket the wolf soul was shrunken down in scale as well... but it grew back to its normal, outnumbered size when he next tried to use the locket. He basically locked it away, and we were warned about it -- but never shown it -- for years afterwards."
Her expression turns sheepish. "Until I, uh, accidentally found it and activated it one night."
She gives the younger girl a cheerful smile. "So, I have about five percent to ten percent of a wolf's soul in with my own, and it mostly has no major effect. It's only when I use the Lycan Locket to amplify my entire soul that it becomes noticeable... well, easily noticeable, but the other thing is almost impossibly hard to see, even if you know what to look for."
- Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto nodded, listening to every word. "Wow... That's so cool. Your ancesters must have been amazing..." She gently scritched Ayana. "Sorry..." She gave her gentle nuzzles.
The then grinned to her. "Wow. That's so cool! You're like a pet too then, right? Oh my gosh that makes your love even sweeter. You could take each other for walkies!" Her eyes actually sparkled. She didn't have bishie sparkles but she had something similar. Adora-sparkles.
She nodded and gave a soft yawn. "Oh, that reminds me. Haruna-sempai is opening her own coffee shop soon. You two should come by! She's letting me work there for some extra spending money so... Once I pay off what I owe her, I'll treat you guys to something, okay? Burgers, if they have them."
- Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
"Not as ancestral as it sounds," Ikiko demurs. "When I say great-grandfather Yuuki, I mean my actual, eighty-plus-year-old great-grandfather. The Lycan Locket has only been around for 60 years or so; as far as magical items go, it's pretty recent."
She perks up at the mention of the coffee shop and burgers. "That sounds like a great idea, Sakura-chan! And I could always come by when you're working there and cheer you on," she beams.
- Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto nodded, giving ayana a little more cuddles. "Mmmm hmmmm. That's really cool. It's not even that ancient, then. You're so amazing, Ikiko-chan," she mumbled softly, sounding a little drowsy. It seemed the warmth was starting to get to her.
She did let out a little giggle then. "Oh, please do. A-and tell your friends. Haruna-sempai is just so, so nice and friendly and makes everything better whenever she does anything. And she's been so kind to me. I... I want her to have a rousing success. She's even going to let me work for her. It's going to be awesome..." Her pettings had gotten a little slower, a little softer and then... they stopped.
Her own little murrs and purrs could be heard as she lay there, eyes closed, arms around the adorable fox, sleeping soundly.
- Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata smiles softly, then gently wraps another blanket or two around Sakura and carefully tucks in some pillows to help make the couch more comfortable. "Sleep well, you two," she murmurs before turning off the light and heading up to her room.
