Synopsis: Fate encounters Yuuki in the park. After narrowly avoiding a fight, they see eye to eye.
Cast of Characters: Yuuki Oshiro, Fate T. Waldia

Yuuki Oshiro has posed:
Snow is gently falling from the sky, doing its delicate dance as it twirls down and softly lands on the pristine landscaping. The world feels so peaceful at the moment. Almost serene as many people are off in their homes, at work, or at their clubs. The Gardens at King Penguin Park are almost desolate.

A single set of footprints mar the perfectly forming blanket of white. Those footprints caused by the shoes of a 9 year old redhead in a school uniform. Yuuki Oshiro is dawdling it seems. Just idly walking around the area. She's being quiet for the most part, though occasionally she does speak. She sounds like she's talking to herself. In Reality she's talking to her device, Shining Star who happens to be speaking softly to her...

< Sister, you needed this. Your body can not handle the strain you were putting it under. Please remember you are still learning. You're still adjusting to actually using your linker core. >

Yuuki just shakes her head as she keeps walking. "I just needed a change of scenery. I am going to train some more. Shining Star, I have to improve. I have to be able to actually stop that lost logia. Look at what it did to Sakura-chan, to That friend of Miss White, and to me! Its going to really hurt someone and I hope its us that find it to deal with it." She frowns and kicks a little snow. She's still seething over Nanoha's actions. "We can't let that happen again."
Fate T. Waldia has posed:
A little snow does not mean duty can be shirked. In spite of the cold, Yuuki is not the only person out tonight. A fact made more miserable by the fact that the search for further Lost Logia began hours ago, with no break. As though driven on by willpower and a knife-sharp determination, Fate Testarossa is not going to just pack it in and call it a night because of some snow.
It had been a long evening of flying already, searching Tokyo again, sector by sector, the same range-blanketing maneuver performed every evening almost religiously, on the hunt for Jewel Seeds or anything similar in hopes of pleasing mother and re-ingratiating herself with Takashi Agera and the members of UMBRA.
<<Faaaaaaaaaaaaaate... It's cooooold, I'm freezing my tail off, we've been at this for hours, can we call it a night?>> Her Familiar sighs in her ear, voice carrying from far across the city on her own search. Fate dismisses the request with a sigh, boots setting down gently on top of a park lamp post, cloak fluttering as she takes a slow breath. Maybe a break might not be so bad. --A thought she also dismisses with a clench of fingers on the haft of her Device.
Bardiche pings. She almost doesn't hear it. <UNFAMILIAR SIGNAL.> That makes her wake up a bit, when the dark axe picks up on another Device in the vicinity. But the next, low, wordless ping to follow is what gets an actual verbal response. "...Mm...?"
<SIR.> He says, buzzing voice somehow almost expressing solemn, quiet, concern. <IT'S COLD.>
Yuuki Oshiro has posed:
As Yuuki continues her own form of brooding, there the much more pronounced sound as Shining Star speaks. < Unfamiliar Signal Detected. Sister you should call for help. > The device resounds in her Midchildan accented voice.

Yuuki hears the warning clearly as she quietly takes off her the small rope bracelet with the yellow star shaped stone on it. For now she holds onto it, making sure that if anyone or anything decides to come out and fight she won't be completely caught off guard. Her gaze shifts around. Those bright green eyes searching for the target at hand. Yes she may be a little worried. "It wouldn't be that Logia... This isn't its style..."

< Sister I suggest using your Barrier Jacket. >

"Hai!" She quickly gets ready. "Shining Star, Set Up!" The last two words are said in unison as her world goes violet for a few moments. Her clothing vanishes only to be replaced with her robe-like barrier jacket. Shining Star takes its Staff form. Yuuki quickly takes the staff, twirls it and poses a moment before things return to normal. Now she's ready... or at least she looks that way.

Quietly the young mage looks around. Her footsteps are lighter then they were but still leaving tracks in the snow. Quietly she lifts off and opts to get an aerial view of the situation.
Fate T. Waldia has posed:
Yuuki is correct. It is no lost Logia. Though shifting into her Barrier Jacket results in another low ping from Bardiche, warning Fate of the surge in mana usage that signals someone just slipped out of standby more into a more ready and capable form. But Fate doesn't move.
It means Yuuki is very soon eye-to-eye with tired, scarlet, eyes when she lifts off, the twin-tailed blonde standing so still she may just nearly be mistaken for a statue, if not for the gentle ripple of her cloak and flutter of hair in the breeze. Fate stares the girl-down in silence, eyes half-lidded, fingers curling slightly tighter around Bardiche.
She didn't detect any Lost Logia here. She has no real reason to get into a fight unless an attack were to come at her, first. Bardiche has turned equally silent, the Device never having much by way or words anyway, he lets his wielder make the decision between fight, flight, or diplomacy. Then scarlet eyes narrow, almost as though wordlessly challenging Yuuki to make the decision of the encounter first, even as she speaks, tone as warm and welcoming as the chill wintery night.
    "Yes?"
Yuuki Oshiro has posed:
If only eyes were seen, one could potentially think it were Christmas all over again. Green meets red as Yuuki looks at the statuesque girl on the light post. She doesn't move to fight. Not yet anyway. There is no point in that yet. For now she simply seems to be studying Fate.

The girl's not attacked her so there is no point in turning this into a fight unless she absolutely has to. Quietly she speaks. "Umm Hi. Who are you?" She asks curiously.

Its a quiet thing, the calm before a hurricane. The gentle winds and the sweet sea air can make one almost complacent. If someone doesn't know what is at the other end of that gentle wind, They could quickly find themselves in a world of danger. Yuuki is feeling that breeze and she has no idea what to expect.

"Can I help you?"
Fate T. Waldia has posed:
Well. That's just brazen. Flying up to meet her in Barrier Jacket, and asking Fate the same question that the blonde had implied with less words. A slow breath and the blonde stares in silence for a moment longer.
"I'm not here for you." It is an honest answer, but this does not stop her from mentally sizing the other girl up, in the event of hostilities. She ventures as little more in the direction of diplomacy. For now.
"I'm looking for something." Again an honest answer, though her curt tone says more than enough that if pressed she will not go into further detail. "If it's in this park... Leave it. And stay out of my way."
There. The ultimatum has been given. Though in spite of her soft voice, there is an edge that betrays a weary resignation. Especially as she adds after another beat: "Please."
Yuuki Oshiro has posed:
The younger of the two mages stares back with curiosity. "I am not here for you either. I am here looking for peace. I can only assume what you are looking for is the same thing a few people have been hunting for." She just goes quiet now.

She returns to looking over the blonde. Is she actually looking for a fight? No. Not in the least. Even if right now she really did want to vent her frustrations. Now wasn't the time. Quietly she speaks up again. "If what you are looking for is the same as I am, I will not leave it. I will not stay out of anyone's way. It is far too dangerous for anyone to hold. I know. I still have the scars from it."

She sighs, "If it helps any, its not here. Nowhere in the park at this time." She doesn't say how she knows. She doesn't want to give out too much information, not while things are this tense.
Fate T. Waldia has posed:
It's the same as I am.
I will not leave it.    I have the scars from it.
Bardiche rattles gently in Fate's hand, fingers curling around the shaft tighter. A dark shadow shrouds her face as she raises the axe into position, golden orbs forming at her side in blatant threat. This is rapidly looking like it's going to devolve in a moment, all because of a miscommunication, that if not corrected very fast, will likely end up in someone hurt. But she does not open fire, waiting just a breath to see if her bluff will be taken or if she'll have to really pull the trigger.
But when it comes to her hunt for Lost Logia, Fate already has one person in her way on a constant basis, more will just wear her down so much more. She strives to make the message clear.
"Stay away from the Jewel Seeds." Last warning it seems.
But those aren't what Yuuki is after, are they? Perhaps some clarifications are in order.
Yuuki Oshiro has posed:
The second Fate makes a move to threaten, Yuuki reacts. She doesn't attack. She doesn't make an aggressive action. The action she makes is defensive. Her hand goes forward and a shield promptly forms. A defensive action. One that shows her intentions at this time.

"If you are after the Lost Logia, I am giving you a warning. Do not touch it. It will give you everything you want and then strip it all away." She states softly.

Then there are Fate's words. Yuuki smiles a little. Then she flat out laughs. "We're after different things. I am after a very specific lost logia. Not Jewel Seeds at this time. Someday Those may be my target but not at this time. I don't know why you need Jewel Seeds but honestly, I won't stand in your way. Not at this time."
Fate T. Waldia has posed:
The moment is tense. All it could take is the slightest sudden movement, the wrong choice of words can make everything break down and make the blood start to flow. And when Fate is met with a rebuttal, her grip clenches further. She draws a breath. Scarlet eyes slide closed with resignation...
She's about to breathe the word 'fire' whenYuuki says something. She knows about the Jewel Seeds. ... But she's not after them. It is this that stays Fate's hand, eyes flickering back open, lips pursing into a thin line. Yuuki... Won't get in her way.
Fate wants to sigh. She wants to let her shoulders sigh and breath a breath of relief. She does not. She does not show, that for a moment, she was on edge there. She remains as cool as the falling snow as she lowers Bardiche, spell dissipating. But something else catches her attention.
"What are you looking for?" That. That is curiosity.
Yuuki Oshiro has posed:
Yuuki closes her hand into a fist. The Shield vanishes and she lets herself breathe for a brief moment. Her heart is still racing. It won't stop doing so for a long while. The situation, while less likely to erupt into a fight is still a little tense.

Then the blonde asks the million dollar question. "A Lost Logia. It has the ability to seemingly slip out of existance. It appears, syphons magic from the target while granting them the thing they want the most. At some point it will give off a magical signature which I can track but the damage is already done. It had me in it's grasp."
Fate T. Waldia has posed:
This is much easier. Not that Fate would admit to her own heart hammering in her chest right now; as it always does with the initial adrenaline surge that always starts with an incipient fight. A fight that, for once, does not happen tonight. But if anything, the quicker pace of her blood warms her up a little.
It's the small things that are best in life.
Fingertips drum on Bardiche's shaft thoughtfully, and to bleed off her tension. That sounds like a dangerous Lost Logia. But a powerful one. The blonde weighs her options.
"Truce." She decides. "I'll stay out of your way if you stay out of mine." It is the best deal she can offer. Before a thought occurs. "... Do you know a girl with red hair in short pigtails?"
Yuuki Oshiro has posed:
Yuuki looks at Fate curiously. Things are going much smoother then she could have hoped a few minutes ago. Quietly she holds her staff in hand. She'd be leaning on it if they were on the ground.

She takes a deep breath. "Alright. Truce. For now, that is for the best." She cants her head though at the mention of the red head with short pig tails. She looks at Fate curiously with a gaze that seems to go through her. "I have actually encountered a girl like that. Why do you ask?" The flame haired girl is not trying to give things away. No. She wants to find out some information. After all, How can she really trust a person who won't give her name?
Fate T. Waldia has posed:
In fairness and in Fate's defense, Yuuki hasn't given HER name either. This little impasse is a sidenote though. At least Fate isn't gearing to shoot her, right?
Fate however pauses when asked why she's raising this. Her mind silently wanders back to Nanoha working so dilligently at the bakery. Fixing up that cake for mother.
"... She gets involved in things she shouldn't." She answers at last, a chill and hard edge on her voice. Before her tone softens. "... I actually don't want to see her getting hurt because of it."
What Fate would really like to say is... I don't want to have to hurt her, or anyone else, over this, anymore.
But she does not say that. "Just a warning.
Yuuki Oshiro has posed:
Yuuki Oshiro frowns, "I see." She goes quiet for a few minutes. Her mind racing. Right now, she is not exactly on the best of terms with Nanoha. The things that transpired at Sakura's house are still way too fresh in her mind. This doesn't mean that she wants to cause trouble for her or start fights.

"I will tell her of our encounter. I will tell her of the warning you are giving. I will not stop her from doing whatever she does. She's one of the very few friends I have."

She sighs. "My name is Yuuki Oshiro. Its been fun but I think I need to go. Avoid anything that looks like a gold chained ruby necklace."
Fate T. Waldia has posed:
That's how it is then. Yuuki Oshiro. Friends with that girl. Fate takes a long moment in silence as well, committing the new girl's face to memory.
In case she needs to throw her name away too.
It makes things a little easier. Depersonalizing obstacles as much as possible.
But now Fate is unresponsive beyond that weary, melancholy, stare. Once more she is as still as a statue; save for the ripple of her cloak and flutter of her hair.
"Fate Testarossa." She gives back. A name for a name. "I will."
Yuuki Oshiro has posed:
Yuuki nods, "I hope our next meeting is less intense, Testarossa-san." She takes a deep breath and gives a little wave. "Be well, be safe." With that she launches herself upward into the sky. She keeps moving making her way towards her home.

< Sister that was not as good for you as I had hoped. You handled that well and did not engage in unnecessary conflict. >

Yuuki frowns, "I need to get ahold of Nanoha." She states softly. "That could have gone really bad." She looks down at the street below, taking in the view. "I think I need to calm down."
Fate T. Waldia has posed:
    "Goodbye."
    Bardiche clinks softly.
Only once Yuuki takes her leave to the skies does Fate let the tension eas out of her body, heaving the sigh she's wanted to for the past few moments.
<<What the heck was that about, Fate?>> Afk asks, finally arriving only now, the orange-haired wolf girl fingering obsessively with her collar.
"Nothing." She replies after another breath. Bardiche pings once more, speaking up after all this time.
    <SIR. IT'S STILL COLD.>
Fate had never been more thankful for her Device covering up the real reason why her hands were shaking.
    "Yes. Let's go home."
