The Doublemint Twins
Date of Scene: 25 January 2017
Location: Plot Room #2
Synopsis: Kukai is called to the Fujisaki house by an obviously distraught Nadeshiko. When he gets there, he has...double vision.
Cast of Characters: Nadeshiko Fujisaki, Kukai Souma

Nadeshiko Fujisaki has posed:
"Kukai..." There's a slight tremor in her voice, clearly audible over the line. She clears her throat, working with a sound she's recently had to struggle to obtain. "Please...Can...Can you come over? We---I need you."

And that's it.

She's freshly showered now, scrubbed down and checked over. Her hair is still damp, longer than it had been. Or maybe its the same length and she's just shorter?

Either way, she leans against the sink and stares into the mirror. Her face is makeup free and yet...still so femenine.

Also, breasts. They're...real. Her tank top is snug over that area and around her hips.

She has hips. Her skirt barely fits over the flair.

This is...going to take some getting used to.

----

Nagihiko's trying to keep it all in. His arms are wrapped tightly around his middle and he's almost a boneless slump in the middle of his bed room floor. That...thing, whatever she is, tried to speak to him, but he just...

And it burns. Everything hurts and he's just so raw. He's been torn in half and he doesn't know what's left.
Kukai Souma has posed:
Kukai blinks, staring at the phone. He hears that tremor, and it sends a chill of fear through his midsection as he makes a noise. It was Silly Early o'Clock, but at least it wasn't I Reject Your Request Until I Sleep More o'clock. "Auugh. Uaah... um. Uh. Sure. I'll be right there. Lemme shower and I'll catch a bus - Daichi's still asleep. Be..." There's a yawn. "Be right there."

The shower is fast, and Kukai's actually out the door about the same time his older brother Unkai is leaving for work, as the sun is rising. Kaido left earlier, and Shusui will leave later, if he isn't working from home today.

Kukai arrives a little while later, knocking on the front door of the gate. Even Aunty looks sleepy, but she doesn't seem to mind escorting Kukai to Nadeshiko's room and then going back to preparing for the day. Kukai takes a deep breath, then knocks on the wall besides the door, calling gently. "Nagihiko? You called? Can I come in?"
Nadeshiko Fujisaki has posed:
Nagihiko winces as he hears that voice.

Oh no. Who called him? Why is he here?

Panic.

"Go. Away." His voice grinds out, much deeper than it had been on the phone.

And then there's another voice, higher in pitch. "No, don't! Please come in!"

Nagihiko grinds his teeth together and growls. "Shut up!"

From Nagihiko's room, door slightly ajar, two charas zip out and cling to him, slinking into his pockets. Even Temari. Neither speak.
Kukai Souma has posed:
Kukai blinks, then looks at Nagihiko, who is curled up on the floor, staring at him, trying to get him to go away. "Wait, no, Nagihiko...? What do you mean, you called me?"

And then there's another voice that is very clearly Nagihiko-as-Nadeshiko's voice, only clearer, saying he needs to stay.

Kukai flinches at Nagihiko's angry, growling voice, then starts as Temari and Rhythm slip into his jacket pockets. A hand goes into each, curling around the two of them and patting them comfortingly for a moment, before his hands come out and he slowly approaches Nagihiko's room door stealthily, curious as to what's hiding there..
Nadeshiko Fujisaki has posed:
Temari shakes a little and Rhythm even whimpers.

Suddenly, the door bursts open and a short girl leaps at him, arms and legs grappling as she clings.

When she finally settles, impossibly large eyes stare up at him. And, well, Nadeshiko has always been a very pretty girl. Actual girl Nadeshiko is possibly devastatingly so.

"The clowns, Kukai! There were clowns! I went to sleep as me and we woke up as we and there were clowns!"

There's a snarling behind them. "Got off of him!"
Kukai Souma has posed:
Kukai isn't sure how to respond to the Charas. Obviously something has gone very wrong. And then the door opens and he is wearing a short girl with long purple hair and gorgeous giant eyes very similar to another set of eyes he's familiar with. In fact, exactly alike.

Kukai stares down at Nadeshiko, listening to her babble. "Wait. Wait, wait. Clowns? What's going on here?" He looks back to Nagihiko and tries to disengage himself from Na-chan, feeling two little figures in his pockets shivering. And then a very angry voice from behind him reminds him there's two people here. Kukai finally gets Nadeshiko off him and turns, going back over towards Nagihiko. "What happened, hon? Both of you?" He moves to sit down near Nagihiko, who seems to be dealing with some anger issues or something...
Nadeshiko Fujisaki has posed:
Nadeshiko pouts when Kukai manages to peel her off of him. She leans in the doorway, watching Kukai sit close to Nagihiko.

The boy flinches and shifts slightly away. He wants...he needs to hide. He feels exposed, raw. "Don't..."

But Kukai doesn't touch him.

"She stole it from me. I want it back."

Nadeshiko snorts. "I didn't steal anything from you. I was stolen from you."

"Shut up. You don't know what you're talking about."

She arches an eyebrow. "I know more than you."

"Shut up!" He lunges forward and after a scuffle, Nadeshiko has him in a head lock.

"Stop it! You're being too rash, you always have been!"

Nagihiko struggles for a moment but she's stronger than he is. After all, it's only natural. She'd been the predominant personality for so long. "I hate you..."

Nadeshiko sighs. "No, you just hate that you still need me."
Kukai Souma has posed:
Kukai wants to touch Nagihiko, but he's so... angry. He's never actually seen him this angry and raw, even when he was in full Yamato Maihime mode. "Nagi... why don't you try and stop and explain what's going on - Nagi!"

And suddenly Nagihiko is up off the floor and it's a blizzard of long limbs and purple hair and Kukai stands up. "Stop this, stop this! You can't fight... yourself! Come on!" Kukai throws himself in between the two of them, trying his best to pry the two of them apart, careful not to put hands anywhere on Nadeshiko that he normally wouldn't mind on Nagihiko, ending up between the two of them. "You don't hate anybody! Now, please, just... stop this and explain to me what the hell happened!"
Nadeshiko Fujisaki has posed:
It's surprisingly easy to seperate them. Kukai's there and berating, and while Nadeshiko's face slips into a familiar and impassive mask, Nagihiko's face crumples nearly to the point of tears. (His eyes burn but nothing comes.)

And then he's scowling. So stupid! Losing control like that, especially in front of...

He stomps toward the bathroom and slams the door closed.

Nadeshiko sighs and examines her nails. "We don't really know what happened. One minute, like I said, I'm asleep. The next, he's shoving me off the bed because apparently I mumbled your name in my sleep." She pauses and blinks. "I think it was your name, anyway. Whoever it belonged to, he wasn't happy."

She waved her hand. "And then the clowns giggled and swanned off. I tried to follow, but, well." She gestures to all of her. "Going from stick to automatic is jarring."
Kukai Souma has posed:
Kukai just... looks back and forth at the two of them. The pain on Nagihiko's face kills him, though, and he reaches out, trying to put a hand on Nagi's shoulder. Before it can get there, he's jerked out of Kukai's reach and slammed the door on the bathroom. Back to Nadeshiko, then.

He rubs his forehead and groans, then looks at her. At least he can talk to her. An idle thought goes through his head, something about expecting the girl to be the hysterical one, and the guy to be the sturdy rock. Welp. "Ok. Let's focus on the clowns. What did they look like? Was it someone you recognized?"

His eyes follow her hands for a moment and he lets out a cough. Wow. She is very girl. Much feminine, such girl. "Even if you don't know who it was a good description on HeartNET could give us a lead." He looks up at her eyes for a moment, a cold thought running through him - she could lie and he'd never know. He quashes it without a thought - this is Nadeshiko. The one person that Kukai could tru~.... and suddenly Kukai's head has one of its first steady headaches.
Nadeshiko Fujisaki has posed:
Nagihiko leans against the sink, rocking in place.

Think...think!

But its hard to think when you're a raw bundle of unfiltered emotion. He wonders if this will pass.

----

She blushes a pretty pink at the appraisal. She's sure she'd slap most people for it. But, well, much Kukai, such Kukai.

Nadeshiko furrows her brows together to think. "They were...yellow? Twins? And...clowns. That's about it. Obviously magical. They sort of escaped through the window."

She laughs a bit and shrugs. "Not much to put on a BOLO, is it."

Her brows furrow again, but this time in concern. "Are you okay?"

Regardless of bits, Worrying About Kukai is a firm setting on Fujisaki's brain.
Kukai Souma has posed:
Kukai tries not to grin at Nadeshiko when she blushes, and focuses instead on the description. "Twin yellow clowns. Did they seem evil or malicious? Or just mischievous?" He shakes his head, then shrugs, looking up at her. "I... have a headache. I imagine you do too. I really wish Nagihiko would come out here, I want to give him a hug." Kukai pitches his voice a little louder and towards the bathroom door, then shrugs and rubs his head. He's not exactly sure if he's willing to give Nadeshiko a hug just yet, though.

Or maybe it's Nagihiko that's being weird. This whole situation is outside of his zone of knowledge. Once again, like he mentioned to Nagihiko the other day, he wished he was more educated about magic and curses and things. All he knows are protective charms and common superstitions and things.
Nadeshiko Fujisaki has posed:
Nadeshiko thinks for a moment. "Well, they sort of tore me apart. Literally. Not really finding any benevolence with that." She taps her chin in thought. "Though don't they usually stick around and monologue about their plans if they're evil? Or is that just in the movies."

She shrugs. "Maybe a little." And she pouts again. No hug for her?

----

In the bathroom, Nagihiko winces at the request. He doesn't want to...but he really does. He wants a hug from Kukai more than he doesn't want to be touched. He wants a hug from him more than he doesn't want Kukai seeing him like this.

So he slinks out of the bathroom. Then, slowly, like someone wading into a cold pool, he hugs Kukai. He winces at first but slowly settles into it, sighing as his muscles relax for the first time since he woke up.

He feels safe and secure, and it would be so easy, too easy, to just...stay here.
Kukai Souma has posed:
Kukai shakes his head. "Yeah. Yeah, they sort of did, huh. That's not good. So... Crap. Ok, I'll just..." He winces. "Oh, damn it to hell. Nadeshiko, um. If we're not careful about this it may be sort of hard to hide the actual secret of.. y'know. Well, right now it'll be easier than ever to hide it, but you know what I mean."

The bathroom door opens, and after a moment there's a slinkycat Nagihiko who presses up against Kukai. He lets out a long breath and hugs the dour boy tightly, feeling him slowly relax and unwind. And then Kukai glances over at Nadeshiko and she's pouting. He can't stand that pout. With one arm, he reaches out for her, offering her a hug as well, keeping his other arm tight around Nagihiko.
Nadeshiko Fujisaki has posed:
She sighs and her shoulders slump a little. "I know. I'll also need to figure where I'm staying. Unless there's a way to mass brainwash the entire household, I'm bound to raise a few eyebrows."

She sighs again and bounces on her heels. The results are interesting, so she does it again. "So much getting used to."

The pout, which had been teasing at first, grows into one of those genuine ones that's barely even a pout anymore. It's more in the eyebrows than the lips.

She brightens, though, at the out stretched hand and scurries over, snuggling up against his free side.

She squawks a bit and resettles.

And though her muscles hadn't been nearly as tense, there's still a loosening. And her own sigh is a happy one.
Kukai Souma has posed:
Kukai nods, trying to plot through for whatever trials Nadeshiko is about to face. "Maybe you could spend a few nights or something with Amu? She wouldn't mind, I'm sure."

He thankfully misses the bouncing, but the hugs he gives both of them are genuine. "It'll be ok. I promise I will fix you. I will find out what happened and I'll make it ok. I will take care of you." Kukai squeezes them both closely, his headache loosening a little as well, even if the breadth and depth of his problems seem to be increasing...
Nadeshiko Fujisaki has posed:
Nadeshiko sighs again, still happy.

On the other hand, Nagihiko swallows a thick lump in his throat as he burrows closer. He doesn't even scowl or hiss at Nadeshiko.

But really...how fair is it to Kukai? The boy takes on so much already, and that's for people he barely knows. Add to that this whole mess?

He burrows tight, fists clutched in balls on Kukai's shirt. He's not really absorbing strength from the hug, though he also is, but he's...memorizing it.

Later, though. Maybe he's being selfish, but he's pretty sure he doesn't have the strength at the moment to just let him go.

He opens his eyes and Nadeshiko is giving him a look. 'Don't you dare.'

Nagihiko scowls as he squeazes his eyes tightly shut.
