Date of Scene: 16 February 2017
Location: Mitakihara/Pikarigaoka - Penguin Public Library
Synopsis: Norie has to do a book report on a romance story. Naru helpfully suggests to not pick the trashy one.
Cast of Characters: Norie Okana, Naru Osaka

Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana was busy collecting books from the fiction self. Various various romance novels involved vampires and werewolves and other such creatures. Some are modern young adult novels. some are older classics. She's busy building a sizeable stack it seems of these books.

It's a little big, it's likely she's taking them to figure out which ones she wants to take back. But likely she's taking them all back anyways.

She gently head tilts at the stack and then begins rearranging them from apparently oldest to newest.

She has two new things about her person- a new silver necklace that is holding the crimson red teardrop gem around her neck, and a new ring that seems old and handcrafted that is very antique, but beautiful.

She begins to have a seat and then she stares at the pile of books. She doesn't start reading yet.
Naru Osaka has posed:
School uniform, satchel full of school books. It's an eternal thing in Naru's world and she pads her way through the library to find a quiet table to work on school work. She comes around the edge of a stack of books and smiles as she spots Norie and her heap.

"Aren't you back in school?" Naru asks quietly, amusement in her tone. "Or you have far less homework obsessed teachers than I do."
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana looks to Naru. It's Naru! "Hi Naru-chan. Actually. This is school work. I have to do a book report on a romance story. We get to pick it. I thought I'd pick something that might appeak to me." she says softly.

She head tilts. "How was your Valentines Day?" she asks.

"Mine was... good." she says. "I might even call it... pleasant." she says.

She gently ponders the stack of books. "How is school going for you? School has been... okay for me. Since I returned." she says.

"Better than. Before I ran away. At least." she offers.
Naru Osaka has posed:
"Really?" Naru blinks as she sinks into a chair and reaches for the top book from the stack. "On romance? We're doing poetry. I would FAR rather do a book report on a romance story than examine meter."

"My Valentine's day was lovely and low key. Which was /perfect/." Naru smiles warmly and then looks up from the supernatural romance that edges somewhat more to the trashy side than the classic side. "I'm delighted to hear that you had a pleasant Valentine's day. That's lovely."

Naru settles back in her seat a moment. "School is school. It's fine, I've never really had much trouble in school provided I actually do the work." She considers Norie a moment and then asks. "How's social going at school? Or is it?"
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana says. "I'm always quiet. I don't like to talk at school. But. I rather be quiet than an irrational mess starting fights like before when I was starving myself." she says quietly. She gently looks down at her ring.

"Natsumi-chan gave me a silver chain. I used it to replace the old antique Italian necklace." she motions.

"--and I..."

"...confessed. To Eilam-kun. As much as. I am able to 'confess' anything." she says. "As I feel things differently. But he understands. That was. An answer to. This ring he gave me on Christmas." she says softly.

"But overall. Life is comfortable now. It is not perfect. But my family is worried less about my behavior now, if I'm still not as they remember I was two years ago. School is going good." she says.

She picks up a book from the top and begins flipping through it.

:Is Kyouko Sakura well then?" she asks.
Naru Osaka has posed:
"It's pretty." Naru comments as she leans in a little to admire the necklace. Her own necklace is hidden under her uniform, always present, but rarely on display.

Naru settles back and looks at the ring and then smiles. "I've never met Eilam, or at least not that I can currently recall. Are you and he also a thing?" The idea of extra beaus doesn't seem to phase her much, it's just a query.

"I'm glad life has settled for you, though. How are things with your brother?" Naru asks thoughtfully and then reaches to set the book down. "You probably don't want to do a book report on that one, unless you want to explain the steamy bits to your teacher."

"Kyouko is well." Naru confirms, her smile fond as she mentions the puella.
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana says. "It is complicated. I can't discuss the specifics. But. He's more. 'Boy in Waiting'...?" she asks. "A more sly way of saying it is that 'time is on mine and his side'." she says. "But beyond that, I can't tell you anymore. It is private." she says. "and Natsumi-chan does know. I am not a horrible monster in that sense."

She raises a brow. "As I don't display emotion much I imagine I could do that and embarrass the whole class and probably get in trouble." she says.

She shakes her head and moves to the next book.

"I haven't discussed things with him yet. I'm waiting to catch you and Jiaying at a good time." she says softly.

"Kyouko Sakura and I have an agreement. She stays out of my known safe spaces and does not invade them. And I do not visit her place of work and stay out." she says. "Which is ashame. Those were good ham and cheese burritos." she says.
Naru Osaka has posed:
"The specifics are, to be perfectly honest, none of my business if you don't wish to share them." Naru reaches for another book to consider and there's a bright smile that clearly doesn't look like she's offended. "But I am sometimes curious enough to ask, and leave the choice of sharing upon the other person, rather than having taken the potential away entirely."

"I expect your teacher would either blush scarlet, or find it hysterical and much of your class would be in the same dilemma." Naru giggles softly at the thought and shakes her head. "Seems risky, probably best not to chance it. Good read, I expect, but not for a book report."

"Those sorts of agreements are good, and wise." Naru nods thoughtfully. "I can't imagine that you're the only one she has that sort of arrangment with, either." She wrinkles her nose a touch. "Really? You like the ham and cheese? I prefer the 'classic' burrito, although I'm not sure /what/ they're trying to taste like, but it's tasty."

"Whenever works for Jiaying and yourself, my schedule is hopefully a touch less manic at the moment." Naru looks thoughtful a moment and then nods. "Ideally."
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana head tilts. "That's right. How has.... having 'actual' powers been for you?" she asks. "Being a proper 'magical girl'." she asks. "I imagine it must be much less harrowing for you." she says. "To not worry too much about being attacked." she says.

She looks back down to the book and then back up as she blinks.

"Yes. Ham and Cheese." she says. "At least from there. I don't typically eat conbeanie foods like that. I tend to just take an entire box of chocolate bars off the shelf and buy it." she says.

"...eating makes me feel comfortable. It's something I can still do exactly as if I was when I was human. Food tastes like it used to taste. Just. I don't digest it. Or anything. I think it just kinda dissolves in the dark energy." she admits.

"There's lots of questions I have that won't be answered until time passes. Like. Do I grow? Do I remain this age forever?.." she asks.

"It'd be strange. Being thirteen forever..." she says.

"I'll try to arrange a time." she says softly.
Naru Osaka has posed:
"I'm not sure how /proper/ I am." Naru notes with a teasing smile, but she holds her finger in one of the novels she's snagged, keeping her place as she considers. "At its worst, I was getting attacked daily.. sometimes multiple times a day. Now it's a sometimes thing. I'm still largely a non-combatant, although now if push comes to shove I can defend myself, and I'm far less vulnerable to.. well.. only a few things, honestly, but its enough. I still don't know what all I can do, that part has been slow and careful, and I think generally I'm alright with that. Mostly."

"I prefer to cook, I've always enjoyed cooking.. my mother is not a very good cook, so it was fun to learn when I was younger." Naru gives a little shrug. "So we eat well, which is good. Kyouko is good at eating."

"I think most of us have questions about what the future holds. Yours are a little different. I hope for you sake that you don't say thirteen forever. Fourteen and fifteen were pretty exciting, I have to say." Naru smiles. "Sixteen's between pretty amazing so far."
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana nods. "Many creatures stay away from others who can hurt them." she says. "Even a little." she says. "I'm different than them because I have intelligence." she says. "Most creatures are just dumb." she says.

"My future is going to be very long. I can't die by conventional means. Either via time or by being stabbed. Or run over. Or blasted away. Or being exploded." she says.

"I don't know how to cook. I made cookies when Amu came over the first time. They were out of a tube of rolled dough and I burned the first batch." she says.

"My theory is that I'll probably age a couple more years but then stop." she says. "Based on observations in my dream." she says. "So I'll probably reach fifteen or sixteen. Then stop then." she says.
Naru Osaka has posed:
"Sixteen's not a bad place to stop." Naru considers. "You can pass yourself off as older with clothes and makeup and ID, without /too/ much trouble." Not, of course, that she's ever tried this. Of course not.

"I have no indication that I am anything other than mortal." Naru seems rather alright with this reality. "I truthfully don't expect to live to a ripe old age, but we live dangerous lives, those of us who aren't invulnerable. We shall see. Perhaps someday I shall have grandchildren to tell fanciful stories to, and have long since proven myself utterly wrong."
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana nods. "Yeah. That would hopefully be the idea." she says softly. She doesn't go into details. "I haven't been able to... change myself in ways that I don't see in my minds eyes, or as I see myself already. That is. Norie Okana. Myself right now. And Lacrima." she says. "I'm not quite sure where Lacrima's 'visage' comes from. Purple hair and eyes. Slightly pale features." she says.

"Eilam described me as 'Porcelain'." she says.

"I have theories but no evidence." she says. "But I haven't felt it really important to explore it." she says.
Naru Osaka has posed:
"I don't know where my magical appearance comes from either." Naru points out. "In theory, mine is mutable with sufficient willpower, but I've not actually tested this theory, so it might be as static as yours."

The mention of porcelain makes Naru smile. "A porcelain doll, hmm? That sounds like something a beau, even a future one, might say indeed."
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana head tilts. "My current theory is that I might look how the past wieldier of my curse saw a daughter, or a lover in their minds eye. But that doesn't quite make full sense to me, because that man wasn't the one to care about such 'frivolities' according to what I've seen in my dreams." she says.

"My second theory is that I might be some subconscious image of what a 'vampire' looks like."

She shrugs. "It's not important to me..."

That statement though. That does elicit a soft blush. Just lightly. From her. Of embarrassment. One of a few feelings she can still feel.

"He does like my 'vampire' form for the long hair and what not..." she asides.
Naru Osaka has posed:
"The purple is pretty." Naru comments with a smile as she looks down to the book in her hands. "My personal vote is for your own subconscious, but I say that entirely on gut instinct and with no proof whatsoever.

"Not everything we think of is important. The frivolitites are important too." Naru points out as she sets the book aside after a moment. "I've no idea if you want me to help curate or not, but this one sounds innane."
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana purses her lips. "Yeah. It is innane. Not important. Just. Thoughts." she says. "While I've calmed down heavily there's one thing that hasn't changed and that's..."

"I still feel a pull to go to Spain." she says softly.

"It hasn't been an urgent pull yet. Just..." she shrugs.

She gently picks up the pile of books. "I should get back home so I can get this done and start writing." she says.

"It was nice catching up with you Naru-chan. Can you say hello for me to Mamoru or Kunzite if you happen to see them today?" she asks as she gets ready to go.
Naru Osaka has posed:
"If you want someone to go with you, I would be glad to." Naru points out on the topic of Spain and she flickers a smile. "I enjoy travelling."

"I should get to my homework as well. It was good to catch up a bit with you, Norie." Naru nods with a smile as she finally reaches for her own school bag, rather than reading Norie's books. "Inevitably, I will be talking with one or both of them today. I will pass on your greeting."

"Take care Norie." Naru smiles warmly before she spreads out her books to get down to the nuts and bolts of how she keeps her grades up.
