An Impromptu Sleepover

Synopsis:	Ayana and Reiko have a not-really-planned sleepover at Ikiko's house! ((OOC Note: Backdated to the day after Imbalance of Power))

The day after the fight against Riventon, Ikiko noticed that Ayana wasn't at school. Concerned about the hit the foxgirl took during the fight, Ikiko called her. Ayana reassured the wolfgirl that she had recovered, then asked if she could spend the night at Ikiko's home. Ikiko got permission from her family, and Ayana started heading over. Soon after that, Reiko called, asking to meet a cute dog to draw. Ikiko made the arrangements for that, then on a whim invited her over for the sleepover.

Dinner was delicious, especially with two friends over, and afterwards the three of them went up to Ikiko's room -- moderately spacious, with a bed, a chest of drawers, a small desk, and a decent-sized window being the most notable furnishings. There's a small handful of plushies, including the colored-through-teamwork husky plush next to her pillow.

With the three friends in the room, Ikiko closed the door and sat next to the bed. "Glad you could make it on short notice, Reiko," she smiles. "I think it'll be good to have another friend of Ayana's around."

Ayana has posed:
Ayana had said she was going to pack, but packing would have involved going home--something the girl desperately wants to avoid. So instead, the teen showed up in her school clothes, with her backpack on her back. At the very least she has a gym teeshirt on in the bag, so she has /something/ to wear to sleep in. She didn't explain any of this, though, so perhaps the backpack itself will be thought of as her packed bag. A discussion for later, perhaps.

Bounding up the stairs in her stocking feet after Ikiko, the foxgirl seems excited for her first opportunity to sleepover at a friends' house. As they rush through the door into Ikiko's room, she skids to a stop, eyes on the husky plushy. "Oh, I should have brought Renard," she mumbles, then frowns. "I forgot," she admits. "Dinner was tasty, though. I hope your parents aren't mad that I ate so much."

Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama has arrived! She has a fish plush in tow and a backpack. Grandpa dropped her off with a 'Have fun, little fish!' and here she is! Also. She brought snacks! Chips and Cookies and a bag of Jerky. The jerk is /special/ for Ayana. She typically doesn't eat it. She beams! "Hiiii!" she says.

Dinner was totally delicious. (If it was fish, Reiko still ate it.)

"So is everything okay?" she asks , head tilting. "Ikiko seems pretty eager to have me over!" she smiles.

Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata thinks about her family's reactions. "I think they were surprised, but we had plenty available," she reassures Ayana with a smile. "Beef rolls with slivered onions are one of my favorites, so we usually make lots anyway."

The smile fades a bit when Reiko asks her question. "Well, Ayana mentioned that she didn't want to see her big brother today, and she was sounding pretty down," she explains. "Since she asked to come over and then you called, I figured that the only thing better than sleeping over with one friend is sleeping over with /two/ friends!"

Ayana has posed:
Ayana shrugs a little at the explanation from Ikiko, and drops her backpack on the ground beside the door. "Yeah, he's kinda ... mean, and I didn't go to school and he's gonna be mad about that. My parents are out of town so he always tells me what to do, but I don't want him to yell at me right now."

Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama head tilts. Oh. She didn't know Ayana had a brother. But a MEAN brother!? She needs to give someone a piece of her mind! You can watch her get a little puffy-faced anger for a bit. "Your brother sounds like a jerk." she says with a hrmph! "I think he needs a good talking to!" she says crossing her arms matter of factly. Oh! Ayana didn't bring her fox plush!?

Reiko offers her stuffed fish. "His name is Mister Bloop!" she insists.

Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata gives Ayana a big hug! "After yesterday's fight, I don't blame you for taking a day off," she remarks. "I'm kinda lucky that I get along tolerably well with my relatives, but I agree with Reiko -- your brother sounds like a jerk."

She picks up her husky plush. "His name is Moonlight," she smiles, bringing him over to Mister Bloop. "Given how we got him colored..."

Ikiko muses for a moment, then brightly smiles. "Maybe he's a brother to Renard!" she suggests.

Ayana has posed:
Ayana leans into the hug with a sigh. "Yeah, well, he not /really/ a jerk. He just wants the best for me. But he's strict, you know?" she says with a sigh, then hangs her head. She accepts the two plushies with a smile, then hugs REiko and Ikiko both, instead of the animals. "It's okay, keep your stuffed animals. I'll just cuddle my shirt when we sleep."

Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama head tilts. "Cuddle your shirt?...uh. okay." she says as she sneaks Mister Bloop back over to her. Yes. Let's arrange playdates for our plushies. That is totally awesome! "Well it's still no fun if you don't wanna go home because of it...." she says tilting her head. "I don't have a sister.... Mei-chan's the closest I have a sister really." she says with a series of nods.

"Maybe I should had brought Roy along..." she says crossing her arms and tapping her chin. "Oh! He's my mascot and a cardinal and he's pretty but he's also kinda bossy." she insists.

Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
There's a brief moment of disappointment on Ikiko's face, but it's quickly replaced with a look of determination. Ayana deserves to have something more friendly to cuddle than a shirt, even if she's turning things down.

"Maybe bring Roy along when we plan this out further in advance?" Ikiko suggests. "That way, maybe Still Night can mask both Ayana's magic and Roy's magic! I'm not fully sure if their magic would be detected by my family's wards, but better to sneak than to be caught."

Ayana has posed:
"I don't know if Still Night can mask two things," Ayana says with a faint frown, "but I could try. Still Night doesn't have a lot of power. I'm sorta ... well, I'm kind-of a failure as a magical girl. My mana's really low, and Still Night only makes up for it so much." She shrugs a little, then asks, "Who is Mei-chan?" of Reiko.

Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama blinks. "Roy's just a talkin bird. I dunno if he's actually magical." she says softly.

She peeks over to Ayana. "A Failure!? Why do you say that!? No one's a failure as long as they try really hard!" she says, throwing her fists out in front of her. She blinks.

"Oh---um. Mei's. Prism Keepr Red. She wrote the story that kinda turned...real. n' stuff." she admits sheepishly. "I drew the stuff." she says.

She taps her chin. "OH! RIGHT!"

She opens her backpack and begins rummaging around.

Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata gives Ayana another hug. "You're better than you think you are," she insists to her fox friend. "You even helped defeat that catboy jerk when all you had were illusions! You're clever, kind, and an excellent friend! I'm glad to have met you as a magical girl, and I'm always glad when you're there with me, whether it's on patrol, in a fight, or just hanging out."

She leans over to give Reiko a one-armed hug, sharing the hugs while the younger girl searches through her backpack. "Same goes for you, Reiko," Ikiko smiles. "You were the first magical girl I met, and meeting you helped encourage me in those early days as a magical girl."

She tries peering over Reiko's shoulder. "Wha'cha looking for?"

Ayana has posed:
Ayana grimaces faintly at Ikiko, then ducks her head. "I mean, illusions aren't really magical," she says with a sigh. "I couldn't actually help you, I just made him think I could. But I'm glad you think I'm not useless." She peers at Reiko's backpack curiously, then asks, "Did you draw a manga?"

Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama blinks. "Nah. I just...drew stuff for the story..." she says softly. She does take out her good sketchbook though. She flips through it and carefully pulls a piece of paper out from it. Then flips.. and pulls another one out-- and gives Ikiko and Ayana both drawings of thier magical girl forms! They're cute and mostly accurate. She was drawing from memory. She smiles. "I drew pictures for you!" she says with a series of matter of fact nods! This is a thing Reiko does!

Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
"Never underestimate the power of a well-timed distraction," Ikiko replies to Ayana, giving her an extra squeeze for the hug. "The more places an enemy has to look, the less they can focus on any particular person."

She gasps slightly at the gift of artwork, then gives Reiko a big hug, holding her hands awkwardly to avoid damaging the paper. "Thank youuu thankyouthankyouthankyou!" she gleefully beams.

Ayana has posed:
Ayana accepts the piece of artwork curiously, but doesn't react quite so exuberantly as Ikiko. She studies the picture for a very long, quiet moment, then smiles at Reiko and offers it back to her. "It's very good," she says softly. "But I don't think I'm as pretty as you made me, here."

Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama head tilts and taps her chin. "Huh? But...that's exactly... how you look like?" she asks head tilting. "I didn't change something or anything." she says as she looks back to Ikiko and ack! Cute Wolf hugs! She eeees and blushes!

"Well I do my best!" she says.

Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
"You /are/ that pretty!" Ikiko nods to Ayana in agreement with Reiko. "Both everyday and as a magical girl." She goes over to her desk and gently puts the picture on it. No available empty frames at the moment; she'll have to remedy that tomorrow.

She slides back over and hugs Reiko again. "And your best is great!" Ikiko smiles. "I love your art!"

Ayana has posed:
"It really is fantastic art," Ayana agrees with Ikiko, though she seems hesitant about accepting the compliments. She looks at the picture again, then takes a deep breath and sighs. "I'm sorry, I'm not a lot of fun today. I don't know what to do about ..." she trails off, then shakes her head. "Nevermind. So what do we want to do this evening?"

Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama taps her chin! "I know what will make you happy." she digs into her backpack and pulls out the Jerky Bag she brought! "I got Jerky! Just for you! I usually don't eat meat~" she says with a grin as she wiggles the back at Ayana~

She pulls out the other snacks! Goldfish Crackers, Cookies, and other such things! Everything that is bad for you.

"...wanna watch scary movies?" she says.

Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata gives Ayana another hug. "That's what friends are for," she points out. "Even if we can't help you with the things that trouble you, we can at least be there to help cheer you up!"

As Reiko pulls the snacks out of her bag, Ikiko nods appreciatively. "Sure, scary movies sound like fun!" she grins. "Snacks to munch on, friends to cling on to when we get frightened; sounds great!"

Ayana has posed:
Ayana's eyes widen at the jerky, and she grabs for it greedily. "Ohmygosh, Reiko, you're the /best/," she says. With one hand and her teeth--does she have little fangs, even as a human!?--she tears into the bag of jerky, while thee other reaches out to snag Reiko into a tight hug. "Skrw mohvs shnd grt!" she says, suddenly all the cheerier for having jerky. She spits the bag out and dives a hand in, and instantly fills her mouth with dried meat.

Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama blinks. "Can you say that again without a full mouth?" she asks meekly, and then peeks at Ikiko. "I'm not scared of any movie monsters!" she lies.

Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata gives Reiko a grin and a nod. "Especially since we could take on those move monsters!" she beams. Of course, some of them she wouldn't want to take on without friends around to help, but that's besides the point.

"So, what kind of scary movie would you two like to see first?" she inquires. "I know my family has a decent variety of movies available, but it'd be best if we chose ones we'd like."

Ayana has posed:
"I said scary movies are fine," Ayana replies to Reiko after swallowing. She grins wildly, then shrugs at Ikiko. "I'm game for anything. I haven't really watched a lot of scary movies, but nothing can scare me. And if you two get scared, I'll protect you, okay? Just like a big sister should."

Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama taps her chin. "Anything about vampires or fish or....." dare she say!?

"Vampire Fish!?" she asks with wide eyes.

"He---hey, I have a question. Have um. Anyone of you met a boy named Tadase? He goes to Seiyou." she says softly.

She smiles at Ayana. "Uh-huh!" she says with a smile. She peeks back at Ikiko.

"Vampire Fishmen...." she says. "From Mars?"

Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata thinks for a moment. "Tadase... I think I met him once or twice, but that's about it," she admits. "Haven't had much to do with him, really."

She gives Ayana another hug, then thinks for a few more moments. "Actually, I think one of my uncles /does/ have that movie!" she finally says. "He tends to collect cheesy, bad movies, with minimal budgets and lousy monster costumes and corny acting." She giggles a bit, a smile crossing her face. "I think he'd get a kick out of us enjoying some of the movies from his collection!"

Ayana has posed:
"... that's a real movie?!" Ayana asks, confusedly. Then she falls to giggling as she stuffs her face full of jerky again. She chews, swallows, then admits, "I've never heard of him. Is he cute? Do you like him?"

Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama yays! "Go get it then! We can watch it!" and totally not have nightmares about terrible fishmen costumes. Also. Most certainly some youma won't dig into her thoughts at make this real! Then Ayana asks the elephant in the room question. She chokes on flourscent orange cheese fish crackers and needs to take a drink of soda.

"Well--w--well maybe!" she says as she crosses her arms matter of factly! "He's like a king n' stuff!" she says, and then adjusts her glasses.

Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata takes a few steps towards the door, then pauses as Ayana asks if Reiko has a crush. She gives Reiko a grin, then ducks out of the room. "I'll be back in a few minutes!" she calls back. Living in the same traditional-mansion-turned-apartments as the rest of your extended family has some advantages, but it does mean that it's a bit farther than the next room over.

Ayana has posed:
Ayana leans forward just a little, eyes widening as she clues into Reiko's feelings. "A cute king?" she asks, then gently grabs Reiko by the shoulders. "Is he rich? Powerful? Have you kissed him?"

Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama watches Ikiko leave and suddenly Ayana is grabbing her shoulders and and blinks and blushes quite visibly and hard enough she feels flush and dizzy because all her blood is in her cheeks right now!

"A--ah!? I dunno! I don't care about that, he's just...cute and kind n' stuff and protects people...." she says quietly.

That's literarly all she knows!

Ayana has posed:
"Is he a magical boy, too?" Ayana asks, dissuaded from her harassment by the curiosity. "Does he protect people like we do? Or is he just ... very nice and likes to help people?" She lets Reiko go, because honestly there is still jerky to eat and she needs hands for fishing it out of the bag.

Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama is grateful to be let go because it lets her hide behind Mister Bloop! She holds the plushie koifish. She's blushing and embarassed but 'stablizing'. "Magical. He uses a scepter to make shields and stuff I think." she says sheepishly. She hugs her fish plush friend!

Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
There's the sound of footsteps approaching, and then the door opens up and Ikiko walks back in, hands full of DVD cases. "He had several that he was glad to let us watch!" she beams. "Got 'Vampire Fish From Mars', 'The Starcreature of the Lost Hotsprings', 'Werewolves of Kyoto'..."

There's about half a dozen or so titles, all of varying ridiculousness and assorted monsters. "So... start with 'Vampire Fish From Mars', and go from there?" she suggests, a grin still on her face.

Ayana has posed:
Ayana seems to be deep in thought when Ikiko comes back in. You can tell because her ears are practically smoking with the effort. "Hmm, scepter. Interesting," she says. "I wonder if he's powerful. I should meet him! And then I can find out if he likes you, too, Reiko-chan." She grins at the girl, then waves to Ikiko. "That sounds great."

Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama blinks! and then freaks out! "Ahhhhh! NONONONONO! Please! I have a rose! I hafta give him the rose first!" she says with wide eyes throwing her fists forward in front of her confident. "The Magical Love Rose will make it all happen!" she insists. Then she peeks back over to Ikiko.

"Werewolves of Kyoto? let's watch that one first!" she insists.

Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata looks from Ayana to Reiko, then back to Ayana, the corners of her mouth quirking upward into the hint of a mischievous smile. The wolfgirl and the foxgirl should definitely talk later about what they can do to help koigirl -- or at least discreetly watch from a distance.

Just need to remember to bring sunglasses and sneaky coats for both of them.

But that can wait for later. For now-- "The Werewolves series is a pretty fun one," Ikiko agrees, then giggles sheepishly. "It's kind of a family tradition to playfully critique those movies because, y'know..." She makes ear-shapes with her hands. "When you study how to fight lycanthropes for a couple of generations, it becomes pretty obvious what the inaccuracies are -- but laughing at them is half of the fun!"

Ayana has posed:
Ayana blinks at Reiko, then dives for her backpack. "Rose," she repeats, as she starts hunting through it. She /doesn't/ have clothes in there, other than her gym clothes. But she does have a big textbook, which she opens. In the middle of it, a rose has been very carefully pressed down and dryed. She pulls it out and sniffs it gently.

Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama looks between dog girls. Nooooo don't ruin everything! ;_;.

She does peek at the movie and nods nods matter of factly. "Well! I don't need to fight you!" she says as she crosses her arms. She shoves more crackers into her mouth. She blinks as Ayana removes a rose, and she head tilts....oh!

"Did someone...give you a special rose?" she asks softly to Ayana.

Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata tries looking innocent and angelic, but it probably comes across more as looking shifty-eyed at the ceiling instead.

She gives Reiko a cheerful smile, then looks over at Ayana's rose. "That's a pretty rose -- and nicely dried, too!" she says gently.

Ayana has posed:
Ayana considers the rose for a long time, then grimaces. "Ikiko, do you think Ta--Mister Black is Evil?" she asks, hastily ammending the name.

Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama wasn't the one being spoke to! But she speaks out anyways. "Mister Black is a jerk! He hurt Red-chan!" she says as she huffs loudly! "Then he tried to steal away a friend of another friend...! Who isn't even magical! Kidnapping!" she says loudly!

Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
"He's definitely acting like a badguy, like with that energy-draining crystal," Ikiko points out. "And he was sure acting vicious yesterday."

She gives her head a thought-clearing shake. "I don't trust him. He doesn't seem to be doing things to be Good."

Ayana has posed:
The fox-girl grimaces unhappily, then lowers her head. "I see," she replies, and falls silent, offering no further opinion on the matter whatsoever. Then, she gently places the rose back in her book, the book back in her bag, and moves to sit by the window, staring out into the night, thoughtfully.

Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama blinks and peeks after Ayana and peeks out up at the window. Is anything there?

"Are you okay? Why do you even care about a jerk like that!?" she asks with a huff!

Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Ikiko Hisakata puts the 'Werewolves of Kyoto' DVD into the DVD player, then walks over and gives Ayana a small hug. Sometimes there's not much you can say, but you still need to offer comfort.

Ayana has posed:
There's no one out there, beyond the window; at least no one visible to the naked eye. But then, Ayana doesn't really seem to be looking there, either. "Bec--" she starts to respond to Reiko, but stops when Ikiko hugs her, and instead just hangs her head. "Nevermind. It doesn't matter. Let's just watch the movie, okay?"
