Latent Potential
Date of Scene:	29 October 2015
Location:	Mitakihara - Infinity University
Synopsis:	Sailor Mercury is caught investigating a recent magical occurance by none other than Daisuke Hansuke--who was there for that very occurence. Through a long series of guilt, foolishness, and rash decisionmaking (Ami, really!), she reveals her secret identity to him. Luna reaches epic levels of cranky.

Ami Mizuno has posed:
"No, I don't know where he would have taken her," Sailor Mercury says to the cat beside her. The sun is still up, although it's rapidly setting to the west, and Sailor Mercury and Luna have come to Infinity University. "But I know that last time she was injured in his presence, he took her to Mamoru's apartment, and ultimately to us."

Luna hisses unhappily. "Yes, but what if she needs your help right now?"

"Then she will contact us," replies Sailor Mercury patiently. "Or else Tuxedo Kamen will find a way to do so."

The blue-haired senshi is perched on the edge of one of Infinity's buildings. A thin augmented-reality visor covers her eyes just beneath her tiara. "Which direction?" she asks the cat curiously.

Luna points her nose towards the yard where, only yesterday, a young boy was made into a youma. "Down there," Luna explains.

Sailor Mercury squints, then leans forward and reaches up to adjust her goggles. "There's some residue of dark energy," she notes thoughtfully. "I'm not detecting Sailor Moon's magi--wait, there it is. Wow, that's a lot more powerful than what I got from her before."

Daisuke Hansuke has posed:
Daisuke Hansuke has come back to the scene of the crime. He got to the hospital. He slept like a dog- ate and he felt a lot better. He got back on his feet, checked out and then started back to where everything went down. He started in that alleyway he found himself. He looked back and forth and summoned his staff. He wondered if he could....'scan'. This also probably spikes on Ami's scanning attempts somehow- though not as a 'dark energy' trace. He would try. His staff did nothing. He sighed a bit, and recalled it back into it's ring form as quickly as he could. So. He can't get to the bottom of this. He looked at a nearby fire escape and looked around.

He began to climb it slowly to work his way up towards the roof in a mundane manner- rather than try to staff teleport.

Ami Mizuno has posed:
"Mmm," Luna agrees with Sailor Mercury's analysis quietly. "I didn't realise she would be able to do that, but once Tuxedo Kamen mentioned it, I gave her the Cresecnt Moon Wand and told her the spell to activate it."

"Well it's certainly impr--wait," Mercury says, then turns her head suddenly to one said. "Did you--"

"--I felt it," Luna says, bounding over to that side of the building. She stares down in the alleyway, and spots Daisuke climbing his way up. "Aiee!" Luna hisses in surprise, then rushes back to Mercury's side. "It's the boy from yesterday! Why is he here? He'll recognise me!"

"Hide!" Mercury tells Luna, and the cat hastily looks around for anywhere to do just that. She settles for running behind an air conditioning vent, and just barely pokes her nose around to watch what happens. Mercury, meanwhile, straightens a little. Nervously, she waits for Daisuke to show himself.

Daisuke Hansuke has posed:
Daisuke Hansuke gets to the top and brushes himself off. He doesn't expect to find anyone up here-- and when he brushes himself off and looks up he acks!? and seems caught off guard a little! "Oh---didn't know. Anyone was up here." he squints. "You're dressed like Sailor Moon, but bluer. I----" he stops squinting. "You're not here to punch me or anything right? I got enough of that yesterday afternoon." he says.

He begins trying to walk to the edge of the building and peek down into the yard. "Bluh. Stuff is still messed up." he still says shaking his head.

Ami Mizuno has posed:
Much bluer. Sailor Mercury smiles, amusedly, at Daisuke's fumbling, but then his concerns reach her ears and she straightens a little, taken aback. "I won't punch you," she promises straight away. "That would be cruel."

Mercury frowns faintly, then introduces herself, "I'm Sailor Mercury. Sailor Moon is my friend, and leader. Who punched you yesterday afternoon? Are you alrigh--" her breath catches as a small glimmer of energy pulls her attention to his hand. "--sorry," she says, shaking her head. "Are you alright?"

Daisuke Hansuke has posed:
Daisuke Hansuke nods. "Sailor Mercury then." he turns a moment and bows. "My apologies. I'm Daisuke Hansuke." he says. He turns back towards the yard and crosses his arms in though, elbow supported. "A child got possesed- and it tried to hit me. Sailor Moon did something to stop that. She passed out from the effort, and Tuxedo Kamen swept her away. He asked if I was okay. I lied- since making sure she was okay, the kid was okay was more important- so I ended up fainting an alley over after I did what I could to heal the child and make sure he was someone visible- and made sure someone took care of him. There was... some jerk screaming about an experiment. The other two didn't seem to like him very much." he says.

He bites his teeth together to take a deep breath to calm down. "That angered me a little. People aren't experiments." he says.

"I was hoping I could come here and make some sense of some things- but apparently I'm just making myself feel more lost." he admits.

Ami Mizuno has posed:
Mercury listens to the story with increasing worry, but she can't voice it. Sailor Mercury has never met the boy before now. So she bites her lip and holds her thoughts to herself. By the time he's done, she desperately wants to give him a hug. But that would be inappropriate.

Instead, Sailor Mercury turns away to stare down at the grass where the boy was possessed, once more. "I ... heard most of that story from a friend who was here," Sailor Mercury says quietly. "She didn't mention that you were involved. Fights against Youma and Dark Magic are dangerous; we usually try to get everyone to safety in fights like that. I'm sorry you wound up in the midst of it."

Mercury takes a breath to settle herself, then looks towards Daisuke once more. "I ..." she starts to say, then blushes and looks away again. "Maybe I can help you make sense of what happened ... if you'd like."

Daisuke Hansuke has posed:
Daisuke Hansuke blinks. "I.. no. It wasn't like that." he says. "You're a friend of Sailor Moon, right? So I can trust you." he holds his hand with the ring out and closes his eyes and things a moment. There's a small flash of purple energy-and the ring turns into a metal rod, with a snake wrapped around it. It's silver- with the snake having purple gemmed eyes. It appears old. Sailor Mercury knows this as a 'Rod of Asclepius'. How could she not? As Ami- she's deep in this medical lore, right?

"Are you able to tell me anything about this?" he asks with a little bit of a hopeful tone in his voice.

Ami Mizuno has posed:
Mercury's eyes widen as Daisuke transforms. She stares at him, confused and uncertain and--

--"I KNEW IT!" Luna hisses, as she bounds around the edge of the air conditioner vent. Sailor Mercury jumps at the interruption of her wonder and uncertainty, but the cat doesn't seem to notice. "I knew that was you. Where did you get that?"

Sailor Mercury blushes all the more, but he's asked her a very important question, so she activates her visor and leans in to study it. "It's the Rod of Asclepius," she explains to him. "But you knew that, Hansuke-san. Your father's a doctor; you probably grew up knowing this symbol just like I did." She studies the readout her computer gives her, then explains, "It's charged with energy--I assume magical energy. I ... are you able to Henshin, as well? Or does it just transform its own shape?"

Daisuke Hansuke has posed:
Daisuke Hansuke blinks, he didn't transform- he did summon the staff though. It's just a thing he can do. Oh... talking cat. He seems unphased with this, though he still jumps because he didn't know the cat was there.

"I...yes." he says to Luna. He shrugs. "It came in a donation to the Verone study archives with a lot of other things. I touched it. I blacked out. I woke up in bed. The door to the room was still locked- so I never left it. They had to get a locksmith to fix it." he says.

"That was a little over a week ago. Things have been very strange me for since. I really don't want to talk about it..." he admits softly.

"Henshin?..." he asks. "Do you--- mean the costume? It lets me do that, yes." he says.

He thinks for a moment and does that. A little flash. And it's done. It's not fancy or elaborate.

But then he opens his mouth a moment when something hits him....

"How do you know my father's a doctor?" he asks curiously. His first thought is to peek suspiciously to Ami's equipment. Is---she a hacker!?

Ami Mizuno has posed:
Sailor Mercury takes a deep breath, then reaches up to touch her Tiara. "Mercury, don't!" Luna tries to warn her, but she's already transforming, in a flash of light and magic. Soon, a very blushing Ami Mizuno is standing where Sailor Mercury was a moment before, with the Mercury wand in her hand. "Because I met you yesterday, and you told me about him," she replies nervously.

Daisuke Hansuke has posed:
Asclepius blinks and sort of gives a very deadpan. "What." out when he watches this happen. Because of course, Sailor Mercury is also the girl that gave him a soft feeling of Deja Vu earlier yesterday. He takes a deep breath. "My apologies." he says, like the deadpan 'what' was meant as an affront of something.

"Mizuno-san. I apologize. I just. Been having really weird dreams. and nightmares. and.... feelings of deja vu-like... I've seen or heard something before." he says. "I've felt like something has been missing for a long time and I feel like a lot of this is connected to that feeling and--- it's just really confusing for me. I just want to help people- and instead I'm.. this. I don't even remember a name. Tuxedo Kamen called me Asclepius. He said it made sense. With the rod." he says.

"I guess that was better than well..." he glances at Luna. "Snake Staff?" he asks to the cat.

He just sort of looks low a moment.

"...You were looking after me in the alley....right Luna? Thanks." he says softly.

Ami Mizuno has posed:
Luna glowers at Asclepios, until Ami leans down to pick the cat up into her arms. "I was watching you, Snake Staff," says the cat. "I'm still watching you."

"Luna," Ami replies to her chidingly, then smiles at Asclepius. "Sailor Moon was right when she said that Luna worries for us. She's very overprotective, and seems to forget that it's our job to protect the Moon Princess, sometimes." She squeezes Luna gently, earning a yowl of disapproval.

"Anyways, you don't ... have to apologize," Ami says. "All of us have been having similar dreams. Not ... so much nightmares, but we've all been remembering the Silver Millenium." She pauses, then winces a little. "No one's explained that to you, yet, I'm guessing. And I guess I don't even know if your flashbacks are related to ours. But ... if you're getting these feelings when you see us, then it would make sense."

Daisuke Hansuke has posed:
Asclepius looks at Luna and closes his eyes. "That's fine." he admits. "You can come to my dorm if you want- whenever you want. I'll leave the window open just far enough. I would rather you be able to feel safe and make sure nothing bad is happening to me that'd cause me to hurt people or your friends." he says to the cat. He looks over to Ami.

"No.... I understand. It's fine. She cares. She has no reason to trust me. She doesn't need to. I can't make anyone trust me. I can just do my best to help when I am able." he says with a deep breath, trying to relax.

"I dunno if you call them flashbacks..." he says. "I feel a lot of deja vu. Like I've seen something before. I-- yes. I had that when I saw you... and Usagi and then Mamoru, but when it was you two girls, it was just a passing sense. 'Do I know this person?' 'I feel I do'. but... Mamoru felt like a kick in the gut a moment. It was strong. It was more-- 'I do know this person! But I don't know why...'" he blinks.

"Silver Millenium? I--- no one's told me anything about that- or anything like that.

He looks down. "I sometimes dream of being in a lovely place. I feel like some kind of... healer. or doctor. I imagine doing that. But I don't see faces. Voices aren't familar. I don't know this place. Some of these are good. Some are bad. But- the nightmare..... just one."

He just looks down. "I just feel like the worlds burning around me. That I'm trying to help, but there's nothing I can do- and I feel helpless and I just... want to give up. And then---I wake up." he says.

Ami Mizuno has posed:
Ami opens her mouth, but Luna stops her with a gentle, "Ami."

This draws a blush to the blue-haired girl's cheeks. "Right," she agrees, then gives Asclepius an apologetic expression. "I can't ... explain it all to you, but I want to. I .." she trails off, "can I give you my phone number? I need to discuss this with the other Senshi. It's really not my place to decide what I can and can't tell you on my own. I'm sorry."

Daisuke Hansuke has posed:
Asclepius goes ahead and lets his henshin drop and takes out his phone and hands it over to Ami so she can transfer a number and take his own down. She can also peek through his phone a moment. There's nothing bad on here. The smartphone's wallpaper is a fuzzy dog.

He also lets his staff flash away and back into it's ring form. "I'm sorry if this is an un-nessacry worry. It isn't my intent to worry you-or any friends or Luna, over there. You- and your friends feelings trump my own. I admit. I feel very lost. If there's anything you can tell me after you speak to my friends- I'd appreciate it. I just...."

He has to stop and take a deep breath to compose himself.

"It's just confusing. and hard." he admits silently.

Ami Mizuno has posed:
Ami grimaces unhappily, then admits, "I've already told you way more than I probably should have. I'm so sorry," she says, and she clearly maens it. "I ... please don't tell anyone what you know. I'm going to give you my phone number," she promises, "and if you just need someone to talk to, call me, okay?" She pulls out a slip of paper and a pen, and hastily scrawls her number on it. "It's really ... knowing that I am Sailor Mercury is ... was ... a big secret. Other than the other Senshi, there's only one person who knows that." Pause. "Two, now, I guess." She blushes and looks away from him.

Daisuke Hansuke has posed:
Daisuke Hansuke takes back his phone and takes the slip of paper. He puts it in himself and slips the phone away. He shakes his head. "I'm not intrested in telling anyone who you are. You can tell others about me if you want. I don't even know who I am anymore let alone protecting something I don't even know..." he says.

He looks over at Luna. "Luna. How can you talk anyways?" he asks. "You're like the second talking ... cat thing I've encountered in like this week." he finally asks.

Ami Mizuno has posed:
"Second?" Ami and Luna ask in parallel, then look to one another, then back to Daisuke.

"Ami, no," Luna reiterates, and the blue-haired girl squeezes her eyes shut briefly.

"I know," she says, "I know. I'm sorry. I will talk to the other senshi," she promises Luna and Daisuke both. "Call me this weekend, okay?" she tells him. "Or if you just ... need to talk. I should probably go before I say something else that will get me in trouble."

Daisuke Hansuke has posed:
Daisuke Hansuke nods. "Second. The first was...some thing.. cat thing. Traveling around with a boy. Yoru was the name I got." he says. He nods. He doesn't seem offended by Luna keeping Ami from saying things. In the end, he just doesn't wanna upset these people but he seems to be doing a good job of that by just....existing suddenly. He still remembers that thought he had last night---

That nothing would ever be okay ever again. He just takes another deep breath.

"I'll go ahead and leave now then. Luna, you can follow me around-if you like. I can show you were my dorm room is at least...." he murmurs. "But...that's your choice." he says as he begins to the fire escape he climbed up.

Ami Mizuno has posed:
Ami worries at her lip as Daisuke starts to leave. For the first time in her life, she understands how Usagi must feel. Slowly, she lets Luna back down to the ground so that the cat can make her own decisions, then raises her wand over her head. "Mercury Power, Make up," she decries.

Sailor Mercury doesn't watch as Daisuke leaves. She turns away and glances to Luna, who hasn't decided to chase him down (for now). "I think I have what I need here," she says to Luna unhappily. "I'm going home. And then I'll call the girls and ... figure out what to do." Luna nudges Mercury's leg gently, and she leans down to pick the cat back up into her arms. "Alright, then. I'll also call Usagi to come pick you up, I guess. I'm sorry I screwed up, Luna."

"Sorry doesn't fix the fact that you just revealed your identity to that boy," Luna hisses back at her. Ami winces, but nods her head. "I rely on you to be responsible, Mercury. This was not responsible."

"I konw," Ami says with a sigh. "I'm sorry."

"If he goes and tells the world, I don't know what we'll do."

"Me, neither," Ami agrees, then starts the long run home.
