I Missed You

Synopsis:	Sayaka and Madoka go to visit Kyousuke Kamijou in the hospital after his surgery. Meanwhile, Ayana is on a mission.

Madoka Kaname has posed:
    Madoka had said she wanted to meet Sayaka's friend Kyousuke and she meant it. Fate had conspired against them however and most of the few times she'd made plans to go meet him something had come up, with something even crazier happening the one time they'd actually set out. And though she was continuing to volunteer at Mitakihara General she hadn't yet met him there by incident.

    So today she's going to make sure that all changes! She had made sure most of her other friends knew she wasn't going to be available, and her parents too, so that she wouldn't be interrupted. Skipping out on her club activities she had approached Sayaka right after classes and asked to go meet Kyousuke. It is very important to her that her friend knew that she really did care about the people in her life!

    Once there and checked in as visitors Madoka cedes the lead to Sayaka. She may know the hospital itself better than her friend as a whole, but this particular part is visited far more often by the blue haired girl. "Now that I'm actually about to meet him I'm a little nervous!" Madoka comments in a cheerful voice, keeping her mood happy and slightly playful to try and keep the spirits of her friend up.

    As they draw closer to the room itself Madoka pauses before suddenly taking a quick step forward and taking onto Sayaka's hand with one of hers. "Sayaka-chan! Before we go in... do you want to borrow my ribbons for a little bit?" She gives her a bright smile and a playful wink, "They've been very lucky for me."

Sayaka Miki has posed:
    Sayaka hadn't had much time to see Kyousuke since the accident, so she's pretty excited - and maybe a little nervous - herself. But, she's sure she can cheer him up and maybe help him heal a bit faster if she's there with him. Of course Kyousuke still doesn't know about her little crush, but maybe it's better that way. For now.

    Sayakas follows after Madoka with a slight smile on her lips, still carrying the bag of music CDs she had bought specifically for Kyousuke, hoping to cheer him up. "Awwe, dont worry, Madoka-chan, he's a sweet guy. No reason to be nervous at all.."

    Then Madoka offers her ribbons and Sayaka blushes. "Oh...Really? For me? You think he'd like them?" Hmmm he might, although Sayaka really is a bit of a tomboy. But if it made her more attractive to him..

Ayana has posed:
Ayana should have gone to school today. And yesterday, and the day before that. She didn't, and when pressed by Takashi as to why she explained, "Special project for you. You'll have to wait and see." The kitsune is given an extreme amount of leeway by her master, and she's even managed to call in sick for herself every day (pretending to be her own mother; for shame!) so the school hasn't made too much of a fuss. Yet.

In truth, she's been hunting for the pink-haired girl Takashi danced with, catching her only periodically on her way out of school, and stalking her here and there, as a fox! This has proven a most effective tactic, at least fifty percent of the time, since foxes are cute, cuddly, and generally blend into the background unless people take special notice.

As Madoka approached the hospital, however, Ayana realised the one problem with her chosen form of stalking: Foxes are not allowed in buildings; particularly buildings with decent amounts of security. Hastily, she found an alley to hide in, then transformed back into a normal girl. Rushing inside, she glanced hither and yon--drat, she's lost them!

Trying not to look too conspicuous, Ayana makes her way up to the visitor's desk and writes her name down, along with a justification of 'bad case of heartache' as her reason for visiting.

Then she glances at the name Madoka and Sayaka wrote down as their reason for visiting. Kyouske Kamijo. Squinting, Ayana smiles at the lady behind the counter, then skips off to the bathroom.

Madoka Kaname has posed:
    "You know him better than I do... but I think so!" comes the reply. Madoka smiles to Sayaka and reaches up, pulling the ribbons out of her hair. She steps closer and takes off Sayaka's hairclips before tying the ribbons into her hair to serve the same purpose, one at either side of her head, though she made sure the bows are a bit smaller than she usually wears. It's a fairly cute look, and surprisingly more girly. For her part Madoka uses Sayaka's hair clips to hold back a bit of her hair out of her face, now looking significantly more bland than when in her signature twintails.

    To be honest, that's almost half of the reason she's doing this; she wants Sayaka to make a good impression, but she does not want to make -too- good of an impression herself. She did recently realize that boys actually look at her from time to time after all, and Sayaka has told her about her crush. With a giggle she gives Sayaka a quick hug, "You look great! Take me in to meet him now."

Sayaka Miki has posed:
    Sayaka giggles, "Oh, I hope you're right! I mean, I've never worn ribbons before...How do I look?" She strikes a pose, trying to have fun, and blushes and giggles a bit more as Madoka compliments her. Well..She's not one for ribbons, but maybe Kyousuke'll like it! Only one way to know for sure!

    "Okay then, let's go!" She runs down the hall towards Kyousuke's room...Only to find it empty! "Oh no, did they move him? Ugh, I wonder where he is..Aren't there any nurses around? Hmmm.." Sayaka peers down the hall, searching for a nurse. Maybe she should have asked at the front desk. Oh well, too late now!

Ayana has posed:
In the bathroom, Ayana transforms from the adorable long-haired schoolgirl into someone three inches taller, with much shorter, business-professional hair for a woman, and more ahem curves. She glances down at her outfit, then wipes her hand over it, and the whole thing transforms as well, into the uniform of one of the hospital's nurses. Walking up to the mirror, Ayana inspects herself for a moment, then snaps her fingers. "Right," she says, then reaches up to frame the place over her heart. A little namecard affixes there which reads, 'Manami Moriko'. Only her brilliant sapphire eyes remain, a constant reminder of the Fox's true form.

"There," Manami says to herself with a smile. "That will do." Then she turns and struts out of the background, trying to impersonate all the older women she's ever seen as she walks down the hall and into the 'Employee Only' area, with hardly anyone paying too close of attention. She finds a handy computer at a nurse's station and looks up Kyousuke's room number, then makes her way in that direction at an easy pace. No need to rush; she knows where Madoka is, now.

Madoka Kaname has posed:
    Madoka smiles brightly and claps for Sayaka as she poses, though keeps it subdued and quiet because this -is- a hospital. She puts on a smile as she starts to go into the room- only to look embarrassed as they find it empty. "Oh! Um, we didn't come when he had something scheduled, did we? If they're running some tests on him he might be back in a little bit?" Though the way Sayaka is acting he might have completely changed rooms; she can't be very sure herself! "If that's what it is, I'll stay here with you until he gets back, okay Sayaka-chan?"

    She puts her finger up under her lip as she tries to think of what to do. Suddenly, a nurse appears! Madoka walks over briskly and stops in front of the new arrival, "Moriko-san, my friend and I are here to visit a patient; Kyousuke Kamijou, but he isn't in the room we were told he would be in. Could you please help us find out if he's moved or in the middle of a procedure?"

    This is a very comfortable environment for Madoka, so she has no problems being direct when interacting with the nurses here, even ones whose names she has to get off of their nametags.

Sayaka Miki has posed:
    "Hmmm..." Sayaka's brow furrows with worry. He was supposed to be prepped for surgery, maybe he's in the recovery room by now. Though she still has butterflies in her stomach. What if something went wrong? What if the surgery didn't work? What if...?

    She shakes her head, trying not to think too much. Gotta stay positive, right? Then a nurse appears! But it seems Madoka's already got the nurse's attention and so Sayaka follows after her, awaiting impatiently for the nurse to tell them where Kamijou is. "Is he better now? Can he have visitors?"

Ayana has posed:
Manami twitches in surprise as she is caught by Madoka, and for a moment she just stairs at the pink-haired girl confusedly. Didn't Sayaka have the hairclips, and Madoka the ribbons? She looks between the two for a long moment, then suddenly remembers: she's a nurse! They're asking her to do nurse things! Oh no, what do nurses do?!

"Uh," Manami replies, then clears her throat and straightens a little. "We have a lot of patients here, Miss," she explains to Madoka in her best impression of an adult voice. "I don't keep track of all of them, but I'm sure we can figure out where he's gone off to."

Somehow.

Gulp.

Manami leads the pair of girls back to the very same nurse's station she was at only a few moments ago (bypassing two much closer nurse stations along the way because she doesn't notice them), and then sits down at the computer. "What did you say his name was again?"

Madoka Kaname has posed:
    Madoka is in focused mode! Right now Sayaka is probably counting on her to find a quick answer to their dilemma, and it's not very often that Madoka feels like she can be the one being relied upon so she's going to do her best. That said Manami's reaction isn't exactly what she was expecting, but it starts to make more sense to her as they're led past other stations; she wouldn't know the patients that weren't in her area.

    "Kyousuke Komijou," Madoka replies, helpfully adding the room number he was supposed to be in, not realizing Manami actually already knows it. But then why would she? A moment of pause, "Sayaka-chan, were there any important procedures he was supposed to be having in the next few days? If his situation changed they might have moved them up." Which would help narrow down the search for the oh-so helpful nurse! ...if she knows how to use the patient finder program correctly.

Sayaka Miki has posed:
    Sayaka lets Madoka do all the talking as she peers around. Frankly, she never really liked hospitals, although being pretty super healthy and tough, Sayaka never spent much time in a hospital herself. Maybe it has to do with the fact that her first magical adventure took place in a hospital...Wait, was it this very hospital?

    She shivers, suddenly feeling very cold. She's still not entirely clear on how the whole labrynth thing works, and is hoping there arent any stray witches left behind or something.

    Glancing back at the nurse as she finds herself daydreaming, Sayaka scratches her head thoughtfully, "Hmm, important procedures? Well he was booked for surgery yesterday. I just remembered that. They had to operate on his hands which were injured in the..Ahh...Fire.."

    She peers at the nurse curiously, "Hmm, is there a problem?"

Ayana has posed:
"No, no, no problem," Manami says. Except for the fact that she has to figure out a computer system she's never really used before. Worse still, getting more than 'current room number' requires a password. "Ahehhhh," she starts to try and think up a lie, but is saved by another nurse coming by.

"What, who're you, then?" asks the taller, slightly rounder nurse whose nametag is obscured by long blonde hair.

Ah, here is an easier lie! Manami stands up from the station and points to her nametag. "I'm Manami," she introduces herself, "and I just started today. I still haven't figured out how to use this whole computer system, but these two young ladies came to visit a dear friend. Can you help them?"

A few minutes later, the dumpier nuirse has pulled up Kyousuke's file, and is reading it over with Manami over her shoulder learning how to use the program. "Ahh, he's actually been transferred to the PT ward," Manami says once they've figured it all out. "Thanks, I'll take them," she says to the other nurse, before winking to the girls. "Come on, this way. He's doing physical therapy to rebuild his hand strength after the surgery. I'm sure he'd love to see you." And off she goes, leading the pair on a merry adventure!

Madoka Kaname has posed:
    Madoka gives Sayaka a look as the nurse fumbles a little with the program, only to blink when the actual nurse on staff comes by and questions Manami. The explanation is actually what she was starting to think herself, and so she buys into it fully when the older nurse goes along with it. Soon they know where to go and Madoka is giving Sayaka a bright smile as they follow Manami towards the Physical Therapy ward.

    "If they moved him over it probably means he doesn't have any dangerous injuries left, Sayaka-chan. That's really good news!" She's not just putting on a strong face for her either; there's all kinds of complications that can crop up after serious injuries and they'd have kept him where he was if they suspected he might have an infection or something else.

    "Thanks for helping us, Moriko-san," she offers as she follows the nurse. "I'm sure you'll be really happy working here. Everyone is so nice, and everything is state of the art!" What is she, a pint sized HR director?!

Sayaka Miki has posed:
    Sayaka seems to relax a little. Yay, he's out of surgery! Maybe he'll be okay! "Yes, thank you so much, Moriko-San!" Sayaka doesn't really notice anything strange about the young nurse, but then again she's not terribly used to proper hospital protocol herself. She hurries after the older nurse, ever anxious to see Kyousuke.

    Glancing over at Madoka as she makes small talk with the nurse, Sayaka smirks. Always making friends with total strangers! Yup, that's so like Madoka!

    As they near Kyousuke's room, Sayaka cranes her neck to peek inside. Seems Kyousuke's sitting on his bed, staring out at the window. His hands are all bandaged up. Probably just finished his physiotherapy exercises for the day, or maybe he's taking a break.

Ayana has posed:
"Oh?" Manami asks of Madoka, humouring the girl's explanations with a smile. "I'm sure I will, if they keep me. I guess we'll find out, though!" She leads the pair into the physical therapy ward, to the room that the chart reported. Checking the physical sheet outside the room, she nods her head once, then motions. "Here you both are," she says with a smile, then replaces the chart in the little holder. "Good luck," she whispers to them both, then motions them inside.

Madoka Kaname has posed:
    "Hm?" They hire nurses they might not intend to keep? Odd. "If they do you might see me around; I volunteer as a nurse's aide a couple times a week. My name is Madoka Kaname," she offers with a friendly bow.

    She peeks inside the room herself, seeing Kamijou laying there in the bed. It'd be a lie if she said it didn't give her a pang of sympathy, but it is a hospital. She subdues herself a little and puts on a soft smile, giving Sayaka a light half-hug from behind, "Will you introduce me now, Sayaka-chan?"

Sayaka Miki has posed:
    Sayaka murmurs a thank you to the nurse before hurrying into the room. Kamijou's not sleeping, but...He's sitting so still. Sayaka blinks. "Kamijou-kun..? Heey! I brought you some music CDs, thought you might like to listen to them, help you relax.." She puts on a cheerful smile as she empties her bookbag full of CDs onto his bedside table.

    "Oh yeah, I brought a friend to visit too. This is Madoka Kaname. She volunteers at the hospital sometimes. You might have seen her around once or twice. She's a real sweet girl! I...I was really worried about you..I missed you..."

    It's strange, her last few words are almost identical to the words she uttered to Kyouko after she became Apatite. It briefly confuses her, but not nearly as much as Kamijou's sad, hopeless expression as he turns to see her. A glance is given towards Madoka and he smiles faintly, although it's a hollow smile. "Kaname-san. Nice to meet you. Sayaka's talked about you before..."

    The CDs do cheer him up a bit however, and he awkwardly attempts to pick them up with his stiff, bandaged hands, but ends up dropping them clumsily on the ground.

Madoka Kaname has posed:
    Madoka is very good at concealing the stab to the heart she feels upon seeing that kind of expression from someone in a hospital. She has to be, because the last thing someone who feels bad about their health wants to see is someone giving them a ghastly, horrified look. It's not the injury she would be reacting to, of course, but to him it might seem that way.

    So as she steps into the hospital room her soft smile stays on her lips, "It's nice to finally meet you, Kamijou-san. Sayaka-chan has spoken about you a lot; she's been very worried about you." She gives him a small bow as she introduces herself.

    She resists the urge to go look at his chart for now; she probably will, but not when any attention is being paid to her. Instead she walks closer until she's a few steps from his bed, standing nearer to the foot of it so that Sayaka can remain closer. "I felt so bad when I heard you were injured, Kamijou-san. I'm very sorry you have to go through this; if there's anything I can do to help, please let me know."

Sayaka Miki has posed:
    Kamijou curses softly under his breath as he stares at the fallen CDs. Sayaka gasps, rushing to try and capture the CDs and protect them from getting scratched. Unfortunately, some of them do end up getting damaged, and Sayaka can only hope that they're not significantly so. "Oh, Kamijou-kun, don't worry about it. Just take it easy. Hey, they even have a nifty CD player in here, let me play some Mozart for you!" And she fumbles with the CD player in silence for a few minutes as Kamijou turns and peers at Madoka.

    "Kaname-san. I've seen you around the hospital I think. Thank you.." He sighs, "My hands still hurt and they're stiff. Doc says it'll be a long time before I can even write with them, if ever. But it's too soon to tell if the surgery was a success or not." He closes his eyes as he listens to the beautiful, relaxing music, and it seems that for a moment it works magic on him, causing him to even smile a little as he imagines himself playing the violin like that..

    He glances over at Madoka, "Those pills over there, can you reach them for me?" He points to a half-empty bottle of sleeping pills next to the CD player.

Madoka Kaname has posed:
    Madoka gives a sympathetic look as the bag of CD's are dropped, Sayaka being much quicker in any attempts to recover them. She feels a little bad- maybe she could have helped catch them before they fell? But she tries her best to focus on the positive- that's very important for healing!

    She is a little surprised when he mentions he's seen her before, smiling a little, "You must have seen me when I'm wearing my volunteer scrubs." Then she listens to his concerns about his hands, nodding a little. "It might take a long time, that's true. But the important thing is to focus on healing. With a things like this you have to do your best not to get discouraged; even a little progress means a lot and is something that can be built upon. There are many stories about people who are told they'll never walk again, for example, who try as hard as they can and prove all their doctors wrong. From what Sayaka-chan has told me about you, you definitely have the heart to be someone like that, Kamijou-san."

    She quiets down once Sayaka gets the music playing, her smile warming a little when she sees the way it relaxes him, how much he enjoys it. It's not hard to see what her friend sees in him- she hopes he noticed her ribbons!

    As he points to the bottle she nods, reaching over and picking it up. Not just that but she reads the label too, because she's trained herself to do so. "Would you like me to get you some, and a cup of water?" Trained habits die hard.

Ayana has posed:
Outside, in the hallway, Minami is busy trying to figure out what she's supposed to do as a nurse that will avoid her being noticed and ordered to do things. Mostly because she wants to stick by the girl she's stalking, but also because work is boring. After the third time being asked to help a doctor do something that she doesn't really know how to do, the false nurse rushes to take a bathroom break. Hiding in a stall, Minami becomes Ayana again, panting worriedly to herself. "This is way harder than anything else I've done," she mumbles. "Taka-kun better appreciate this girl a lot. At least at school I could be sleeping."

Sayaka Miki has posed:
    Kyousuke peers curiously at Madoka and her cheerful attitude. Honestly, he cant help but feel just a bit encouraged by her upbeat attitude. It causes him to smile faintly, as he stares down at his useless hand. "Yes...I suppose you might be right. Afterall, it's too soon to tell for sure just yet. I just have to hope for the best. Thank you, Madoka, and..thank you, Sayaka, for the music. I really appreciate it.."

    Though as he looks down at his hands again, he suddenly winces. The surgery must have been painful as he grits his teeth, staring at his bandaged hands with a look of torture in his eyes..Looks like he might need some painkiller too as his last bottle is empty. And where'd that darn nurse go?

Madoka Kaname has posed:
    Madoka nods happily, "Yes, exactly! Let me tell you a secret, Kamijou-san. Being happy and comfortable can sometimes be just as important to healing as all the difficult exercises they make patients do. Not many people realize just how important it is." Her smile turns knowingly sympathetic, "But even knowing that, it can be even harder trying to be happy when you're stuck in a place like this, isn't it?"

    She leans in a little closer and says quietly, "You're lucky you have someone who cares enough about your happiness to visit you, Kamijou-kun!" Madoka pointedly turns her head towards Sayaka before looking back to him and smiling again with closed eyes.

    Then she'll move away and go get his glass of water, even helping him with the pills if he looks like he doesn't look ready to try holding them with his clumsy fingers. Once he's taken them she'll quietly excuse herself, both to let Sayaka and Kamijou spend some alone time together, and also to go let the nurse assigned to his room know he'll likely need a refill on his pain meds.

    "Get well soon, Kamijou-san..." she says softly after she exits the room, both for his sake and Sayakas.
