Location: Plot Room #1
Synopsis: A very hungry, very irritable Ayana attempts to convince a very dutiful, very disbelieving Yomi to do her bidding. It definitely does not go as Ayana intended.
Cast of Characters: Ayana, Yomi Takanashi

Ayana has posed:
Takashi's refridgerator is empty. Takashi's lab refridgerator is empty. The company break room refridgerator is empty. The cupboards are bare. Ayana has eaten everything, and she's still hungry. The figure of the foxgirl stalking the halls is not a new one, but within the last few days her stalking has grown increasingly erratic. Like right now, she stalks back to the break room for the tenth time today, to check a refridgerator she knows is bare, just to see if she's missed a crumb or a morsel.

Yomi Takanashi has posed:
There's no crumbs or morsels in the break room, but there is a Yomi. Yomi Takanashi is sitting at the small round table in said room, a small bento box placed before her. This is not company food.. this is her lunch. The bespectacled, darkhaired girl is eating very neatly, with a napkin spread on her lap and her chopsticks held delicately as she conveys one morsel at a time from the box to her mouth.

The entry of the stalking fox gets her to look up, bright green eyes watching Ayana as she moves to check the fridge, but her attention is fleeting. There's food to be eaten, and her lunch break is only so long, after all. Another little wiener-octopus vanishes into her mouth.

Ayana has posed:
Finding the refridgerator empty, Ayana makes a noise of disgust. She slams the door and starts to stalk back out of the break room. She even makes it as far as opening the door, before her nose registers what her eyes ignored. She comes to a halt, then turns and peers over her shoulder.

Licking her lips hungrily, Ayana sidles up to the table, then leans on it and stares at Yomi in silence until she's done chewing that bite of food. "Hiiiiii," she says, drawing out the word just a little. "You're the girl that Riventon gave a crystal to after using it to steal energy from people, right?"

Yomi Takanashi has posed:
Yomi just continues to nom her lunch with patient dignity, not paying much further attention to Ayana, at least until the g irl sidles over to her and stares. Yomi meets the other girl's gaze steadily from behind her glasses, saying nothing until Ayana actually greets her.

"Good afternoon." She says, in pleasant but cool tones. She seems to have to think a moment to find an answer to that question, and while she's thinking she puts another bite into her mouth, chewing. Once swallowed, she says, "I believe the one you are thinking of is my Otherself, Deadmaster. But for all intents and purposes, yes."

Ayana has posed:
"Ugh, whatever," Ayana says grumpily, slashing her hand through the air in disdain at the concept of 'other selves'. "I can't keep straight who's who around here, I just read the report on it. Look," she notes, pointing a finger at the girl. But then there's more food, and Ayana's stomach growls loudly.

For a moment, she seems to have forgotten she's talking about any particular topic, and instead simply salivates at the sight of Yomi's lunch. THen she pulls herself together, "Look, I need that crystal. Actually I need the whole machine he was using that day. And then I need your help. I need to use it to steal a bunch of energy again."

Yomi Takanashi has posed:
Yomi continues to gaze levelly at Ayana as the girl grumpily dismisses the difference between herself and Deadmaster. In truth this is a little annoying to her, but she knows better than to openly display emotions like that in the workplace. She continues to eat one bite at a time. She does not offer to share.

"Well, I'm sorry to hear that." She says, not sounding sorry at all. "If you want those things, you'll have to talk to Riventon-san. He told Deadmaster to return the crystal to headquarters, and that is what she did. I left it in Riventon-san's lab as instructed. It's not like I had any use for keeping it."

Ayana has posed:
Ayana snaps her fingers at the news that it's in the lab, then starts for the doorway. Then she pauses and turns back and peers at Yomi. "That's a big lab," she notes. "Can you go fetch it for me from where you put it in the lab? I'm pretty sure he hasn't moved it since then, and this is pretty important, so I don't have time to go digging through the whole lab looking for one little crystal when you already know where it is."

Yomi Takanashi has posed:
Yomi looks at Ayana from where she sits, very deliberately putting another bite into her mouth and chewing it as she seems to consider the proper response to this question. She swallows, and then says, "I wasn't aware you were made my boss. I work for Riventon-san, and I'm on lunch break."

"However, I can /tell/ you where I left it, so that you do not have to go through the whole lab, although why he would have left it sitting around for a month or more is beyond me. If so, I will have to speak with him about organization." She points in a vague manner with her chopsticks. "I left it on the small table directly to the left when you enter the lab by the front entrance."

Ayana has posed:
"I'm his familiar!" Ayana says huffily, and just to prove her point, she allows the illusion concealing her fox-like ears and tails to fade. "See? Big fluffy ears, big fluff tail! Riventon is my master, and if I'm asking you to do something for him it's because he needs it done! Ugh, good help is so hard to find, these days," she grumbles, eyeing the food lustfully one last time before she turns for the door. "This will go on your performance review evaluation thing!" she notes as she pushes through the doorway and heads towards the lab.

Before the door closes, she's back through it again, holding it open and standing in the Threshold. "And when I'm back, I am going to need your help getting that energy he needs. Or are you gonna tell me that I can't tell you to do that, too?"

Yomi Takanashi has posed:
Yomi quirks a brow, eyeing the ears and tail without seeming impressed. "If Riventon-san needs me to find energy for him, why doesn't he tell me himself? I don't remember being told to take orders from you, Familiar or not. And you're not making a very good impression. Perhaps you should work on your management skills, if you are indeed working as his subordinate."

She sighs softly. "However, if I can find the time in my schedule, I suppose I can help you. But I can't let it make me fall behind in my work. I have important reports to file."

Ayana has posed:
Ayana eyes the food hungrily one last time, then wrinkles her nose. "I don't want to be a manager. But he is currently otherwise occupied, and sent me to get you to do this thing for him. So ... just stop being so difficult, okay? I'll be back," she notes, then finally tears herself away from the sight of food and stalks towards Riventon's lab.

It's nearly half an hour before Ayana returns, carrying a small black rod that in no way looks like the bauble Deadmaster left in Riventon's lab. By now, Yomi is probably done eating. By now, Ayana has probably managed to catch a mouse to tide her over. So she goes hunting for Yomi again, this time at her desk.

Yomi Takanashi has posed:
Yomi has indeed finished her lunch and returned to her desk, exactly on time. She has a half hour lunch break and it was 30 minutes on the dot when she sat back down at her desk and began typing away at her computer.

She looks up when Ayana comes back around looking for her, her eyes flicking to the small black rod the girl is carrying. "Were you unable to find the crystal, then?"

Ayana has posed:
"No," Ayana says with a grumble. "Apparently he used it already, according to his notes. It was just the power itself, anyways, condensed into some kind of ... thing. I don't know, science stuff." She waves a hand, then offers the rod to Yomi. "Apparently this thingie is what he made out of it, though. Apparently if you point it at someone and turn it on, it will siphon their energy directly into the repository it's got. I need you to fill it up and bring it back to me."

Yomi Takanashi has posed:
Yomi looks at the rod. After a moment, she reaches out and takes it. "Are you sure this is an approved use of my time?" She asks, holding it in her hand but not tucking it away or anything yet. "I may have to check with Riventon-san to make sure I'm allowed to divert from my previous instructions. He asked me to take an inventory of lab supplies, and that's very important."

Ayana has posed:
Patience is not Ayana's virtue. Kindness isn't it, either. In fact, at last tally, she really didn't have any virtues to speak of whatsoever. So this last little bit of 'second guessing' seems to have finally tripped her switch, because Ayana actually yells, "RIVENTON IS IN THE HOSPITAL AND NEEDS THE ENERGY, OKAY!?"

Then she has the good grace to blush, and those big fluffy ears fold back aside her head. She takes a deep breath, then explains, "I just ... need to get him some energy so he can get out safely. D'you think, maybe, you could help me out here, a little bit?"

Yomi Takanashi has posed:
Yomi blinks slightly at the outburst, which for her is a fairly extreme reaction. After a moment, she pulls the rod closer and then turns to tuck it into the small bag she carries to work. "Very well. I suppose if it's as important as you say, I can assist you. I will see about gathering some energy."

She then turns back to her desk, looking sideways at Ayana. "I am sorry to hear that Riventon-san is not well. I will do my best to help him recover. And get my inventory report done. I'm sure that will make him feel better, as well."

Ayana has posed:
"Thank you," Ayana says through gritted teeth. She champs her teeth once, then takes a deep breath. "I'm going to go find something to eat. When you're done, just put the device thingy on the same table in his lab. I'll get it from there and take the energy to him. Be quick! I need to get him out of that horrible place soon."

Yomi Takanashi has posed:
"Very well." Yomi says, already turned back to her computer and tap-tapping away with precise, rapid keystrokes. "I shall do my best to have it for you soon." She doesn't look up again, apparently having decided the conversation has reached its natural conclusion.
