Cast of Characters: Ami Mizuno, Daisuke Hansuke

Daisuke Hansuke has posed:
Daisuke Hansuke sounds out a text to Ami.

'Hey, I wanna take you up on your offer last night and talk a little, also. I am hungry. I know a place.' he says. Also, you know, he gives the location of said place and how to get there!

It's a little small tiny curbside cafe that seems to be one of the 'Mom and Pop' type Cafes. Daisuke Hansuke is sitting there with a large cup of something that smells like coffee- but also chocolate- and sipping it.

There's no one else here. It's never busy this time of day after school. It's mostly a breakfast and lunch spot- not a dinner spot.

He has a buttered crossaint because of course of he does. It looks delicious and seems to be iced in some manner in a pink frosting lightly drizzled. It has a bite taken out of it.

Daisuke is reading the newspaper.

'Gas Leak at Frozen Beach Ice Cream Raises Safety Concerns'.

"Heh..."

Ami Mizuno has posed:
Ami Mizuno texted back that she had swim practice, but would come by after. This set the meeting just into the 'after dark' category, but not too terribly late for dinner. She arrives dressed in a fuzzy white sweaterdress and black tights, warm looking furry boots, and still-wet hair.

"Isn't it funny how everything is so easily explained away?" Ami asks as she slides into the seat next to Daisuke. "Is this an 'order before you sit' kind of place?" she asks, eyeing his food and coffee. "Or do they actually come and ask me what I want?"

Daisuke Hansuke has posed:
Daisuke Hansuke hehs. "Yeah, it is..." he says softly. He folds the newspaper and places it down as he smiles. "Someone will come out after a while. They usually do, anyways. It depends. I like this place. It's quiet. I come here when I need to think." he says.

Indeed, a flustered younger waitress comes out the door and bows apologetically and begins asking what Ami would like. Indeed, it's a lazy night and she was probably almost asleep to notice the new arrival!

Daisuke lets Ami order- the place appears to be small fare- pastries, coffees, easy sandwhiches. Then he continues when the server is gone as he bow politely.

"I want to thank you... first of all, for trusting me with all that last night. It-- helped fill some blanks for me." he says. "At least in how I feel."

He takes a longer sip of his drink. "Secondly..."

"...aren't you afraid of catching cold with wet hair?" he asks softly.

Ami Mizuno has posed:
Ami orders a coke and a sandwich for herself, smiling to the waitress, before she turns to regard Daisuke beside her.

The thanks doesn't go unnoticed, but neither does she make a big deal about it. Just a small smile and a shrug before she reaches up to squeeze at her hair. "I mean, I could have used a hair dryer," she says thoughtfully, "but no I'm not really afraid of catching cold. I don't really have that problem, anymore," she explains. "And besides, hair dryers take too long, so I just towel off and then get dressed. It's easier that way."

Daisuke Hansuke has posed:
Daisuke Hansuke takes a bite out of his crossaint. Sandwiches don't take long and that comes out shortly after as he swallows.

He finally goes on. "I wanted to talk to you about some related things. Because... well. Now I have puzzle pieces, I guess and some stuff is fitting together, I suppose." he says. "---and you seem to be the one with the big picture." he smiles.

"....for a while. I've been feeling like I need to seek out someone 'important'. That, feeling became more like a 'need' when I found the staff." he says softly.

He pauses a moment. "Chiba-san was familar. And felt important. I'm pretty sure now it's him I was looking for." he crosses his arms and looks down. "I don't know what's supposed to happen after that though. If it's to help then. I'm doing that. So. That's all I can do." he sighs.

He uncrosses his arms. Takes another bite.

"Ami, can I ask how you've found out as much as you have about this... past time?" he asks. "Is it from these dreams? Or... I mean. Is there anything I can do to help find out more?" he asks softly.

Ami Mizuno has posed:
"I don't even have your dreams," Ami reminds Daisuke with a faint shrug. "As far as I can tell, it's only you, Mamoru, and Usagi who do." She sighs just faintly, then admits, "And I'm not sure what the correlation is between you three that makes you different from the rest of us."

She squints at Daisuke a moment, then shakes her head, "Honestly, it's mostly time. If you haven't noticed, I take a lot of pride in being the smartest girl in my school. Call it vanity, but it does have the added benefit that I am well versed in taking notes, paying attention, and picking up details other people miss. The reason I seem to have the big picture is that I've spent more time trying to put all these puzzle pieces together than any three others put together, including Mamoru."

Ami pops the top on her coke and takes a drink, then sets it back down on the table. "Patience, attention to detail, and stubbornness. That's how I've found out as much as I have."

Daisuke Hansuke has posed:
Daisuke Hansuke shrugs. "I wouldn't even call them dreams. It's like.... dreaming in ... vibrant color with feelings and a swirling vortex of.. something." he looks down and sighs, crossing his arms. "I only started having them when I had the staff. And they haven't cleared up any at all. Sometimes they feel familar to a situation I've experienced."

"Sometimes I feel like I'm trying very hard to convience someone of something and it isn't working. Sometimes I feel like I'm pleasently ignoring something obvious for the sakes of someone else. Sometimes I have what I call a nightmare, and I feel hot and I feel shaky and there's something unfamilar and cold in my hand- and that I'm failing someone. Sometimes I feel like I'm experiencing a warm summers day and I feel lightheaded. Sometimes I feel like I'm scolding someone but also keeping a secret." he sighs. "Sometimes the swirls are figures but no one I could recognize."

"I wish there was a way for me to share these with you besides just talking about them." he says.

"I mean most of these are in that journal I'd been keeping anyways and I'm sure she's been peeking at it anyways." he says throwing his head back.

"I'd tell you Queen Beryl makes me feel... 'slimy' but. Obvious. Very obvious." he says.

He leans forward. "Ami you are probably the smartest person I know. Brag about it from the rooftops if you want." he chuckles. "If anyone challenges you. Outsmart them back." he grins.

Ami Mizuno has posed:
"I generally do," Ami replies with a faint shrug. "But I don't like to brag about it from the rooftops. Mamoru-kun is still smarter than me, at least," she points out, "although I like to think that's because he's several years ahead of me."

She takes a big bite of her sandwich--so unladylike--then chases it with more coke. After swallowing both, she looks up at him and admits, "Honestly, just telling me about it is often fine. I've put most of my information together based on hearsay and feelings. It's terribly unscientific, but it's the best I've got."

Daisuke Hansuke has posed:
Daisuke Hansuke finishes his frosted crossaint. He still has plenty of coffee though. He smiles.

"That's all you can do in this case. It's not like any of us actually remember anything..." he mutters. "I just hope that whatever is going on we can bring it to some sort of happyish ending. I don't even know how'd you begin to take down something like Queen Beryl. I mean. Just her prescene made me feel ill." he says.

"But---fighting. That's you guys do best." he smiles. "I just hang back and support."

"..and you guys have that if you ever need it. Just call. Ask me. That's the least I can do." he says.

He closes his eyes.

"A lot of this does scare me though." he admits silently. "But that's always been the case I think. Even in.. whatever past life I lived." he says.

"Heh."

"Like I doubt myself a lot for no reason. Did you know I was gonna ask you to scan me after that Ice Cream Place situation to find out if it was me or not?" he asks.

Ami Mizuno has posed:
Ami doesn't respond, right away. She instead focuses on her sandwich and coke for a moment, until both are nearly gone. She seems to be thinking, however, as she eats.

Eventually, she notes, "We're all scared, you know. I faced off against that witch and nearly died. Technically I think I did die, cryothermically. I'm terrified of what we're going to be doing at the orphanage, Daisuke."

Here, she turns to regard him directly, shifting in her seat so her knee is actually touching his leg so she can face him. "But do you know what happens if I don't get over it and do my best?"

Daisuke Hansuke has posed:
Daisuke Hansuke also turns to face Ami. "Well I know what would have happened if I let it control me that night, too..." he mutters.

"Venus'd probably be dead. I'd probably been dead. The Priest would had been dead. Instead I just teleported us all away." he says.

He closes his eyes. "So yes, I know what happens if I don't get over it." he says as he sighs.

"I die." he says. "I just need to do my best." he says. "And maybe that won't happen."

Ami Mizuno has posed:
Ami leans forward and presses her finger to Daisuke's nose, a sharp expression on her face. "Wrong," she tells him faintly. "It's not you that dies if you don't get over it, although maybe that happens, too. But if you show up at a battle like the one we're facing and you're not one hundred percent on your game, you risk all of us dying. Or worse, everyone dying. And I don't just mean the eight or ten of us; I don't even mean the eight or ten of us and the orphans. I mean everyone that is alive today, across the world. That's what happened last time, Daisuke. Everyone died."

Daisuke Hansuke has posed:
Daisuke Hansuke looks cross-eyed when his nose is poked. This does cause him to smirk if just for a moment- a half smile, but the message is clear to him as she finishes. "Yeah... everyone died." he mutters. He just takes another sip of his coffee cup.

"I'm going to do my best. That's all I can promise- and I can promise that." he says. "I already have arrangements in so I can be there before things go down. It isn't really hard to get in places when you want to help." he says softly.

"You've helped me a lot, Ami." he says softly and quietly. "I usually listen to others. That's part of my 'job' as it were. I listen, I try to help when I'm able, and if I can't---I know someone who can."

"But this-- anything so far removed from that and it's just nice to have someone to talk to like that. I've never really had to-- talk to anyone before, I suppose, myself." he mutters. "Or ask for help or to ask if anyone knew anyone who could." he says.

"No one will die if I have a say in it this time." he finally resolves. "..not if I can act quickly enough."

Ami Mizuno has posed:
"I'm counting on you to act quick enough," Ami tells Daisuke plainly as she turns back to her meal. "I saw your speed with getting Venus to safety, the other day," she reminds him gently. "I know how fast you are. I don't know anyone faster. If you see someone in danger, don't hesitate to jump in, grab them, and jump out ... unless I've given you something else more important to do already. Okay?"

Daisuke Hansuke has posed:
Daisuke Hansuke smiles. "Well, the teleporting does make me fast. It's easy if I can see the place. Not as fast if I know it's there.. faster if I know it before. I'm pretty sure I can't force myself into objects by accident or otherwise. It's why I'm going early, so I can learn the place's layout. I'll be able to skip around easier that way if I have to." he says.

"As I said. My best." he manages to say forcing a smile.

He finishes his coffee.

"Furthest I've gotten teleporting is about from here to.... well Midori-ya's roof." he says.

Ami Mizuno has posed:
Ami smiles at Daisuke, then finishes her meal. She wipes her hands on a napkin, then finishes her coke as well. "Just remember that distance isn't as important as safety. If you can get them twenty meters and then right back faster than you can get them a thousand, then choose the twenty." She leans back in her seat and wrinkles her nose a little, then asks, "That all you wanted to talk about?"

Daisuke Hansuke has posed:
Daisuke Hansuke smiles. "I think that's it. I think I'll look into some form of dream interpertation later and maybe see if that leads anywhere." he says softly.

He begins to stand up. "---and this was on me." he says with a grin. "You can get the next one." he says as he begins to walk toward's the store.

"I'll be ready when things go down. Don't worry." he finally says. "I promise you , that."

Ami Mizuno has posed:
"Good," Ami replies to Daisuke with a faint nod. Then she smiles. "Thanks for dinner. Take care of yourself," she says, before sliding back out of her seat. She grabs her leather satchel, and turns for the door.
