Synopsis: Valeria and Hinote discuss fancy rich people things. Really, that's all that needs said.
Cast of Characters: Hinote Kagari, Valeria Barun

Hinote Kagari has posed:
Hinote Kagari is left to his own devices which mean Hinote, clad in an exact, mundane copy of his fancier form is strolling about town. There's a few guards shadowing him. Not for him, but to keep the swarm away of people that might crowd him. So far. That hadn't happened. Sometimes he has to ask the Guard a silly question. Sometimes he politely turns down a free gift.

He doesn't correct people calling him 'Sir Hino' however. He's grown numb to this, it doesn't even inflate his ego anymore.

Right now he's mulling over a vendors cart on the side of the road eyeing some wares. Should he get some travel things? It might make authentic props..he considers. He seems to be deep in thought about this.

Valeria Barun has posed:
Valeria Barun is wearing the dress Hinote has seen her in nearly every day on Earth. He'd likely have noticed by now that it's fairly ostentatious even for Waldian standards. It is, in fact, fit for royal audience. And that makes sense, because that's exactly what it was originally for. It might even be fancier or more expensive than Runealy's dress, and for a very specific reason. Runealy and her family have not just money, but power. Real, true power of the kind where every important decision in the Kingdom is in some way their domain, either to make it themselves or decide who is empowered to make it for them.

The Barun's have no such power, especially here in the capital. What they do have is money and a strong influence on trade, but all that could be taken away in an instant should the King or Queen snap their fingers and make it so. When one's only asset is riches, those riches get put prominently on display. The only thing that keeps her extravagant clothing from being garish is excellent taste, poise, and grace.

It is thus this same dress that she wears as she walks down the streets of the capital, enjoying the eminently fresh air that she hadn't realized she'd missed until her return. Her gait steady, even, and very composed, her dress swaying lightly as she walks while never quite brushing the ground despite it's almost floor length, her motions fluid and graceful. This is the way she always walks and presents herself, but it stands out much more starkly when there is more than just Runealy to compare her to.

She speaks to and greets people that approach her as they come, taking a few moments to chat with nearly every one of them. This makes her progress a little slow, but she hardly seems to mind. Calls of, 'Sir Vale!' are met with a soft smile and, "Valeria, please. Sir Valeria if you must; as I stand before you now I am merely a young Lady of Waldia." This isn't entirely correct, but the gentleness with which she offers her naming preference seems to be working out.

She notices a familiar face by one of the vendor carts, and is about to call out to him when a girl of five or six wearing commoners garb, approaches her and asks what it's like to be a Noble and get to wear fancy clothes and be around Princess Runealy all the time. "It is a joy and an honor to be so privileged. It makes me so pleased to look out upon a market such as this one and see the hard work and skill of the people. If it wasn't for everyone here doing their best a lifestyle such as mine would not be possible."

She lightly gathers her dress so she can crouch down in front of the girl and asks, "Do you want to be around such luxury when you grow up?" The girl gives her a quick nod, "Then you must remember the most important thing: Your manners. Be polite to people, smile to them, be kind and make yourself a delight to be around. Always practice your manners. If you practice enough you might become a handmaiden or sought-after lady in waiting." A warmer smile, "You might even find become an elegant Noble yourself."

She stands back up and ruffles the girls hair lightly, who shines a smile at her, only to look to a boy near her age standing close by, "And if you practice yours perhaps you'll be worthy of courting her."

This causes a light ruckus of good natured teasing amongst the kids, which Valeria uses to excuse herself before making her way over to Hinote, "Good Eve, Hinote. Are you finding your time here amongst the people as much a delight as I?" She turns her eyes to the cart he's at, looking faintly surprised at the wares on display. "Planning an excursion? And here I thought you were so excited to spend time in the castle." A small smile.

Hinote Kagari has posed:
Hinote Kagari grins. "I spent a whole day in the castle. I've talked to some historians. They have my story." he says softly. He looks to the wares. "I'm mostly pondering.. souviners I can pass off as theactrical props---as much as I want to buy a large diamond broach, or a braclet-- well I already have trouble passing the Guardian Relic off to my parents." he mutters.

He picks out a few things- mainly a waterskin, and a hide rucksack. Now he has things to carry other things! His inventory space goes up by four spaces.

Inventory now contains: Half-eaten breadroll, Fresh Fish, Longsword, Rucksack, Waterskin.

> Use Fish on Valeria.

"Gao and I bought a fish for later. I'm going to cook it, I want to try an exotic otherworld fish, you know~" he says.

He puts it into the sack finally with the other items and slings it over a shoulder.

She smiles. "You seem to be getting along good. I don't really know how to handle the attention. I /do/ know how to handle kids. But- ugh. Everyone throwing things at me for free. I bet this cart gets mobbed because I just bought two things." he says as he begins to walk away from it, motioning for Vale to follow.

"That dress looks really stunning you know." he says. "I mean. You can tell that more here." he asides. "Than usual." he smiles.

Valeria Barun has posed:
Valeria smiles as he mentions his time already spent in the castle and speaking with the historians. "I'm afraid that's something I've yet to do. I must, though, as I would not look forward to letting Runealy know I did not do the one thing wants me to do while I am here." She considers a moment before adding, "I do not wish to have as prominent a position as you or Gaofele in our histories. What I have done is important, but it pales in comparison to what the two of you have accomplished."

She briefly looks off towards the castle, "And there is yet much to do. Now that our world is no longer in danger we must face the consequences for our actions. If I am to be distinguished, let it be for the deeds I've yet to do, not arriving after you two, Runealy, and the wonderful Heroes of Tokyo have completed the most difficult tasks."

She pushes some hair back over her shoulder a breeze teases it out of place before looking at the rucksack and water skin as he buys them. "I admire your caution, but perhaps a word of advice? Get yourself something wonderful. Something you can't possibly explain away. Jewels, a bracelet, a broach... if it is jewelry you prefer I would even suggest approaching a goldsmith for a custom design. Get yourself just one something that is just for you, that you can always look to when we're back on Earth and tell yourself, 'This is my special prize from Waldia. There is nothing else like it in all the world, and I deserve it.'" She smiles again and leans in just a little, "Because you do deserve it, Hinote. Even if it's something you must keep hidden away in your wardrobe."

She looks at the fish and laughs softly, "It is a shame you don't have longer to try more of our dishes. Were we in my hometown I would simply demand you try fresh Lormian Oysters; there is nothing quite like them." She ponders a moment. "There may be some for sale here, but doubtful as fresh as at home. They sadly do not prefer the waters off the Capital."

She can't help but laugh a little when he mentions the attention, "That might explain your distaste for the gatherings your parents take you to. I'm afraid you might find one of ours equally as suffocating, especially considering your newfound status. The Guardian Knights will be the talk of the town for many months to come." She follows along with those same graceful steps as he leaves the cart, carefully placing her heeled feet away from obstacles. It's even harder than it looks with her feet obscured by her dress.

The compliment catches her slightly by surprise, but she's accustomed to them enough to react graciously. Her smile brightens and she dips ever so slightly while bowing her head, "Why thank you, Hinote. I thought perhaps it was too antiquated for such a modern young man as yourself." Her eyes twinkle a little, "But then you do have an eye for old-fashioned taste, so perhaps my assumption has been remiss."

Hinote Kagari has posed:
Hinote Kagari looks to Valeria and considers this. "Mmmm. The ocean here is a lot cleaner than the one back home. I could see the bottom to halfway down the pier. On Earth...well...." he says. "Our people have done a pretty cruddy job of taking care of it. But that's also because WAY more people live there." he says.

He softly, considers that. "I guess you're right. Just. I hate lying to my parents you know? But I already tell so many ridicolous lies. They think I'm at an acting camp!" he chuckles. "Instead of gallavanting on some bizzare crossworlds adventure." he says. "--but maybe I'll grab something at least. Not like I can't always just say 'I liked it so I bought it.' he says." he taps his chin.

"Eh, I wouldn't call it distaste it's---" she says. "Well my dad uses them to try to match me up with intresting girls." he says. "--but they're never /intresting/." he says. "-and I have to sit there and yes them and dance and---" he says. "One time I just straight up went to the bathroom, transformed and escaped out a window way up." he says.

"Dad spent the entire party wondering how I left. It was pretty funny." he giggles. "If completely and utterly rude of me."

"I enjoy them more when I can socialize freely or with someone I actually like." he mutters.

He grins. "I pretty much love..." he motions. "Dresses like this. Runealy's was nice and yours is like that times ten- it's antiquated where I come from, yes- but. It's.. well I love ballroom parties and masquerade parties." he admits. "-and that fits right in with what's in my head a lot of the time when I imagine the perfect one." he admits.

"Runealy says Ballroom parties like that happen here. I hope I get to attend one someday. Just. Well. I have no idea how Ballroom ettiquite works here. I know how it works on Earth- but not here." he grins a bit. He stops in front of another building as he taps his chin. "There a goldsmith in the city here?" he asks.

Valeria Barun has posed:
This is the first she's heard of the ocean on Earth not being very clean. "Is it?" Valeria asks. "Sea water is not known for being especially fresh, but I must admit I would never have considered calling it 'dirty'. It must be very difficult for your Emperor to maintain the cleanliness of the sea with so many people about. Your fishers must work themselves to the bone to feed everyone." She still has almost no idea how the actual government of Tokyo, Japan, or Earth works.

She gives him a sympathetic look when he mentions lying to his parents, "That is something I can understand. But it is also why I mentioned keeping it hidden away. You needn't comment on a thing they know nothing about." Valeria lifts her arms and places her hands beneath her elbows. After a moment she lifts her right hand, resting her thumb on her chin while in thought. "Hinote..."

She stops walking for a moment, "Have you considered the possibility of living alongside Gaofele, Runealy, and myself upon our return to Tokyo?" She makes a light motion towards him, "I know you have no need for it, but I wonder if you wouldn't be happier that way. You speak often of having to dance delicately around your parents, of concealing the truth from them against your wishes."

She looks again towards the castle for a brief moment before smiling back at him, "I've said nothing to Runealy of this yet, but I have no intention of allowing her to live in a sterile, barren apartment. When we return I want to make sure that, whenever we are, it will be a place she can return and truly relax and feel comfortable. A home away from home. I wish to bring what Waldian furnishings I can, even if that is merely some artwork and drapery, that lets her remember her home in a place other than her mind." That is a bit of a tangent before she adds, "I think you being there as well would be of great assistance in this. I would not have brought up such a large change in your life, but hearing you speak I can't help but wonder if that isn't something you would enjoy."

With her little pitch done she'll resume walking, "I see. It is merely company you do not enjoy being sent towards you by your parents." She is again briefly thoughtful before looking towards him with a nod, "I have two suggestions. The first is to attend such functions on your own. Without your father there he can make no such introductions. The second would be to arrive with a girl already on your arm." Her smile turns to something half teasing, half playful, "Myself, for example. Were I at your side am I wrong to think your father would hardly consider sending young ladies your way?"

Her smile is very warm as he compliments her dress once more. "My dress is was designed to place me at the center of attention, I will not deny it. It was my parents who had it made for me, but I must admit to finding it and the effect it can have on people to be very enjoyable."

Valeria is almost grinning when he mentions enjoying those kinds of parties, "Some day I will take you to my hometown, Hinote. Being so far away from the capital and the Royal Family we sometimes have nothing to amuse ourselves with but constant parties, balls, and gatherings. I have up until now led a charmed life of pleasantries and formalities." And by the way she says it she's loved nearly every moment of it. "The etiquette of a Ballroom party depends entirely upon whose Ballroom it is. Would you find it strange to hear that a party here for Runealy would have more lax standards than one for my Mother?" She looks mildly amused herself. "My mother is a very dignified woman." Emphasis on 'very'.

She then can't help but laugh softly, "I am sure there is one. Perhaps even more than one. All the finest Jewelry that is made in Waldia is offered to the Royal Family for purchase before all others. They are the very heart of our society, and have right of first refusal. The finest people should have the finest things."

Hinote Kagari has posed:
Hinote Kagari thinks on this. "Then maybe... one or two small things wouldn't hurt. Really. I'm going to have to explain this sword anyways. Though I'm intending to hang it on my wall on a plaque, really- and you know, never know when I may need a non-magical longsword." he grins.

He thinks. "Well. With so many people, we make so much trash and---" he mutters. "So.. things are messy sometimes. But we're not savages living in filth. We have 'Sanitation Services' that take care of like, garbage and street cleaning. All that." he says.

He looks towards Valeria and hehs. "Yeah It's the company it's--- you know--- I'm fourteen and they're worrying about stuff like--- that." he mutters. "Like I couldn't find someone on my own if I wanted---please." he says exasperatedly.

He looks incrediously at Vale as she gains a teasing gait, before tapping his bottom lip a bit and talking. "Well. You do kinda need to learn how things like that work on Earth and---- having you around WOULD stop my dad from trying to push random girls my way." he mutters.

He head tilts. "I'd love to go a really fancy ball! Maybe someday, when we come back for good-- we can do just that!" he says. "Or... come back for long enough to make a trip. How long is such a trip?" he asks curiously.

He finally ends on the other point brought up. "Yeah. I'm not letting Runealy live in some cramped apartment either--- or in a trash hole of a store ever again. Did... did Runealy ever bring you to the old store? It's my practice spot. Where I met them for the first time- and where we setup home." he says. "You'd-- understand a lot then." he says.

He head tilts. "That's-- going to be tricky. I mean. I have parents back on Earth. But... there's ways." he mutters. "Really... so I'll consider it." he smiles.

"Really, I don't think my parents would mind if I entered some sort of 'spoiled rich kid' phase really. At least as a ruse." he says with a smirk.

Valeria Barun has posed:
Valeria hums a little when he mentions the dedicated services to keeping the city clean. Mass scale cleaning is far from her forte, but she might have to look into it a little when they get back to Tokyo.

"I do indeed," she replies to his comment about learning Earth customs. "I'm afraid 'I'm from an entirely different world' isn't as acceptable an excuse for me as it is for you here. Even claiming to be 'European' doesn't seem to have worked very well for Runealy or Gaofele." Valeria then smiles warmly, "And I would be very glad to bring you to one. I imagine the presence of Guardian Knights in my hometown would be enough of a reason to hold one." A soft sigh, "Alas, the travel as I am accustomed to it requires a week each direction. My family makes several stops along the way so I faster travel is likely possible, but it would require a serious commitment of time. Likely not before the Princess decided an extended stay in Waldia was in order."

She reaches forward and lightly touches Hinote's upper arm when he speaks about not letting Runealy live in a simple apartment or worse, "I thank you for that. I have not seen the conditions she and Gaofele were suffering through but I do not envy their stay. If she can not be in her real home I hope Runealy can at least be made to feel somewhat 'at home' on Earth." A short pause, and she spreads her arms. "She has suffered greatly. I wish to see her happy again; to see her feeling safe again. It won't be easy. She hasn't even had time to properly mourn her mother... but even if it is difficult I will see it happen."

Then he comments about finding a way to convince his parents to let him move out. She laughs softly at his mention of acting the spoiled rich kid. "Perhaps not spoiled, but you would be moving to live with Royalty and Nobility. There might even be a shred of truth to such a ruse," she comments with a twinkle in her eye. Then, with a playful smirk of her own she adds, "Do consider that were you to live amongst Waldians you could keep whatever Waldian possessions you wished."

Hinote Kagari has posed:
Hinote Kagari hrms. "A week isn't /too bad/ from what I know of antiquated forms of travel. Land or Sea?" he asks. He assumes 'Air' isn't an option. Unless there's giant bird trams. He's pretty sure Runealy would had mentioned 'Bird Trams' in reference to airplanes by now.

He nods. "She's getting there. Slowly." he smiles. "She's been through a lot- but... the main concern that's worried her for the past most of this year is over and the world is safe." he says. "Right?" he smiles.

"Heh. Runealy said I'd be a noble when this was over. I guess I kind of feel like one. But- you know. No actual title..." he says. "I--well. I wanna talk to the king about proper 'citzenship', though Runealy said 'saving the world was enough'. I just. Even like a small token proclamation you know, even if it's made up." he grins.

He crosses his arms. "Yeah, and also I wouldn't have to hide and come and go as I please." he says softly. "Though my dad would still insist on going to the parties with the rest of the family." he sighs. "I honestly... well."

"I love my dad, I do. But when he's in town it's just... charity event after event." he says.

"I need to wear a tuxedo to most these events. It's.. a really 'classy' kind of suit with layers." he says. "I have like six. Then I have some more casual, but still formal suits for these things." he says. "It depends on the level of event. I'm able to get away with the formal suits more often usually." he motions to your dress. "That would be fine for most of the events I attend. You'd probably turn a lot of heads. There's not a lot like that on Earth. You'll be asked where you got it tailored- or what 'brand' it is, which is the same thing more or less. Just a 'company name'. So be sure to think up a reliable lie. Can't tell them it's from another world." he grins.

Valeria Barun has posed:
Valeria looks at Hinote with some surprise. "By land. But... yes, the capital and my hometown are both on the coast. A ship could make the trip faster, never mind a quick one." She can't be sure but she imagines the Runealy's family might keep such a thing for quick travel about the Kingdom. And if not they're certainly paid well enough to charter one.

There's a soft nod from her, "She must be feeling a great deal of relief now that the Barrier is restored. After what she's been through she will likely never be the same as she was before. To witness such evil and such tragedy." She is quiet for a moment before continuing in a more cheery tone, "But with our help perhaps she can hold close the lessons she's learned while healing from and moving past the pain."

Valeria giggles a little when Hinote mentions being a made a noble and wanting citizenship. "Sir Hinote of House Kagari, First of his name. That doesn't have such a bad ring to it, hm?" Another smile, "I imagine if they intend to place you among the nobility citizenship comes included. Perhaps you'll even be given your own little grant of land to look over and tend?"

With a soft hum Valeria considers being forced to go to various charity events. "Have you ever considered hosting one of your own?" she asks with an arched brow. "I think you might find such a thing to be a very enjoyable experience. If you've been to so many you likely know everything involved and what makes the fun ones fun, and the dull ones dull." She takes a few steps forward before making a sweeping gesture, "All the decor could be to your own tastes, and as the host you could mingle with whomever you please." A more mischievous smile, "And have the best of excuses to be unable to spend the entire night with a young lady of your fathers' choosing- far to busy entertaining your guests." Slightly more seriously she adds, "That, and I think you might take your father quite by surprise by such ambition and responsibility." A short pause and she makes a tiny frown, "Or... is that not something a 'spoiled rich kid' would attempt on Earth? It may break your narrative."

On the subject of her dress she raises her head and lifts her chin ever so slightly, "Why lie? I will simply tell them it is a custom design by my mother and was tailored by my families personal seamstress. Would that not impress them?" She holds her pose for a moment before giving him a wide smile, "Our seamstress has other customers of course, but she is sadly unavailable for commissions to the people of Tokyo."

Hinote Kagari has posed:
Hinote Kagari hehs. "I'm getting used to being called that. If a little weird still. I mean. It makes /sense/ here. Just not on Earth it doesn't and t----"

He thinks a moment.

He sighs. "When... I took the Oath... " he says softly. "Runealy asked me a question. It was..."

"'What do you want your home to look like'". He says softly. "See- initally. The idea was to take what we needed and run- and then close the portal behind us- I think I already told you that. But. Runealy wanted to know how I imagined I'd be living. I said that... I imagined living in the castle for a bit, until I was used to Waldian life." he says. "Then I said I'd imagine a small cabin somewhere." he laughs.

"And---here you are. Suggesting land to tend and people to care for? That'd be a little much for me right now." he grins. "Maybe when I'm eighteen." he winks.

"So yes, I will try to move in with you guys then. I can figure SOMETHING out." he says.

"--and..." he says. "That should work. Many people don't get that personal, but it /will/ be enough I think." he says.

"Come, lets find a jewelsmith so I can buy some fancy things." he says softly.

"...I'll need some help picking some things out." he insists.

Valeria Barun has posed:
"A small cabin, away from the cities?" Valeria gives Hinote a curious look. "I must say I find that surprising; but then I'm sure there is much I've yet to learn about you. It would certainly be a departure from living in Tokyo, however." She gives him a slightly teasing smile, "You might need to speak with Gaofele if that is what you desire; even I can not help you when it comes to rural living."

There's a quick nod then and she begins walking, once more maintaining her careful steps that keep her dress off the ground. "Yes, let us find you some finery worthy of a Guardian Knight. You are luckily in excellent company when it comes to these sorts of purchases."
