Cupcakes make EVERYTHING better
Date of Scene:	10 December 2015
Location:	Mitakihara - Easter Stadium
Synopsis:	Fate has a promised talk with Nanoha- and answers some of Nanoha's questions, while Nanoha answers them when she can back! Then the two conspire to steal cupcakes before they get marked down for being day old!

Nanoha Takamachi has posed:
Nanoha was flying through the sky. She has no space ferret with her either tonight. Space ferret was off doing... ferret. Things. Maybe. Nanoha didn't really know. She was practicing her flight still, little pink wings on her feet keeping her aloft, as she attempted... another loop-de-loop!....

She lost control on the downwards loop, picking up too much momentum and coming up too hard causing her to flail about and crash STRAIGHT down into the ground. Well. Be thankful for Barrier Jackets.

Nanoha doesn't relent though. She gets right back up into the air to try again! She is determined! If she's going to get the next Jewel Seed- she has to be ready for anything!

She looks left and right again-- wait. Is her Area Search picking up something?

Hey! She's using it now at least!

Fate T. Waldia has posed:
Fate Testarossa's flight path is a bit more tightly controlled. She moves in straight lines or gentle arcs, her concentration less on practicing flight and more on studying the place around her.

She reaches behind her back, and winces with a hiss. It still hurts back there. It's a reminder to be more focused on her task, so she should be grateful for it.

Nanoha's Wide Area Search probably finds her before Fate finds Nanoha, but Fate does find Nanoha. For a moment, she's relieved to see her alive... but no, that isn't right. That girl is an enemy. Fate should treat her that way...

Still, she did make a promise. Regardless of what her mother or anyone else thinks, her promises have to mean something, right?

Fate's flightpath arcs towards Nanoha, moving to intercept her at a somewhat leisurely pace. Bardiche is out, held to Fate's side in a sort of casual way.

Nanoha Takamachi has posed:
Nanoha Takamachi is also holding out Raising Heart- else well. No spells!

She does blink and--oh! It's--- Fate!

Nanoha appears to be perfectly fine and recovered. She sort of hovers there and let's Fate come to her. Raising Heart is held to her side- non-threatiningly- as Fate also seems to have the same idea.

"Fate.. it's good to see you! Um---you're not here to..."

"Do... a bad thing. Are you?" she asks hesitantly. "I'm the only one here and... there aren't any Jewel Seeds here!" she insists.

"So..I hope you're here to talk to me!" she says with wide eyes at a Fate- and an even wider smile!

Fate T. Waldia has posed:
"There are no jewel seeds here, as far as I can tell. I'm not here for any energy, either. To say it directly: I'm really not in any mood for a fight."

Fate's tone is a little terse and unfriendly, and she's not really looking at Nanoha directly, but that's about as far as her unfriendliness goes. She's not here for a fight. She's just... here, and talking.

"... but I did want to talk to you. You kept your promise to me, so I should keep mine to you. I don't know what kind of questions you want to ask, and I don't really know every detail, but I'll answer as best as I can."

When Fate finally does look over to see Nanoha smiling, there is a flash of surprise on her face. How can she smile like that, after what's happened? Nothing between them has ever been friendly, but... here she is.

Once the surprise passes, her own face softens.

Nanoha Takamachi has posed:
Smiling is the best way to show you care! Or so Nanoha thinks so. "Well..I'm not some spoiled jerk you know..so. I'm going to be answering with my own answers to my own questions...." she says softly.

"A two way street means we both pass each other!" she insists. Well. Whatever that means!

She looks around. It's quiet up here. You can barely hear the roar of the traffic. It's just. The wind. It's sort of errie and strange.

"Well. I want to know.. why you're after the Jewel Seeds..." she says. "I'm after them... because they're dangerous and hurt people! They need to be put away before they can hurt more people!..." she says wringing her hand a little around Raising Heart.

"...and... if I remember correctly...." she says thinking. "You said that--- your mom is sad? That she doesn't smile anymore?..." she says. "Do you know why?" she asks.

She can't really give a 'counter answer' to that question of course.

Fate T. Waldia has posed:
A two way street? Fate looks at Nanoha for a moment before saying, "Oh... well I mean... you don't have to tell me, but... if you want to..."

The wind blows through Fate's hair, whipping her long blonde twintails behind her. Her black ribbons flutter rapidly. There's a sharp look in Fate's eyes, but that sharpness doesn't seem to be directed at Nanoha herself. It's more like something's bothering her.

"I'm gathering the Jewel Seeds for my mother. She needs them for something, though she wont tell me why. I'm hoping that she'll smile again if she has them... I mean... I think she will..."

The second question takes a moment of consideration. Fate thinks, and she tries to think hard, but her memories just confuse her. Someting's wrong. She reaches up to her head, cradling her forehead with one hand.

"I don't remember exactly why she stopped smiling. I know that she was... well you could call her a scientist I guess. There was an accident at her workplace and after that we moved away. I don't really remember the details, but she stopped smiling after that."

Nanoha Takamachi has posed:
Nanoha Takamachi frowns. "So your mother... a scientist wants the Jewel Seeds for... something?" she says sadly. "..and you're hoping they'll make her smile again..." she ponders on this.

"I will tell you. I will feel really bad now for every Jewel Seed I seal away... but. I can't just let them run wild and hurt people- and I most certainly can't let you have them until I know what your mother's doing with them!" she says with a furrowed brow! She doesn't look upset. Really. She looks sad, but- well determined too of course. Emotions are important! But you can't just sit back and let em drive you around ALL the time.

Right?

She frowns, "Is something wrong...? Do you have a headache?" she asks with concern. "Did something happen to you recently...?" she asks.

Fate T. Waldia has posed:
"They shouldn't be allowed to run loose, no. They are dangerous Lost Logia and they need to be handled with care." Fate at least agrees on that much.

"But I warn you, they're still dangerous." Fate's wine-red eyes flicker towards Nanoha for a moment when she says, "... and I will still want them. Make no mistake, I will fight you for them. You sealing them first wont prevent that."

She looks straight ahead, her own eyes showing a determination of her own, "We'll probably be enemies, regardless of your reasons. Don't expect me to hold back."

Then Nanoha asks a couple of... more difficult questions. Fate is quiet for several long moments before she answers. "Lately, whenever I try to remember something, I get confused. LIke... I hear names that I don't recognize, and there's other things that don't add up."

"... and lately, I made my mother angry with me... I guess I haven't been working hard enough." The sadness in her eyes when she shares that last detail is difficult to miss.

Nanoha Takamachi has posed:
Nanoha Takamachi places a hand on Fate's shoulder suddenly. "Just because... we're enemies. Doesn't mean I can't care about you, you know!" she says with a determined look! She lets go immediatly though, realizing the contact may be a bit much, she does blush at this a little and gives Fate just a tiny bit more space.

"--but I'm not just going to let you shoot or swipe at me either, so...!" she says more adamantly.

Then Fate gets more sad again. She hovers a little closer. "That's...what makes you sad, then doesn't it. It's your mother." she says softly. "---and you made her angry? Why? Just.. because!? You're out now, looking for them, right!?" she says. "Surely--- you didn't come here to see me!?" she asks.

"I mean I'm glad you did find me! We got to talk and---"

"I hope my energy helped your friend!" she says with another smile.

Fate T. Waldia has posed:
Fate winces as Nanoha places a hand on her shoulder, a small hiss escaping through her teeth. A little touch like that shouldn't have hurt, especially through a Barrier Jacket, but it very clearly did.

Fate glances at Nanoha, and her eyes are a bit pained, but there's no blame in them. She didn't know.

"Fine... fight back if you want. I wont take it personal, but it wont stop me either. I wont falter from my mission."

As for why Fate's mother was angry, Fate pauses, touching her sensitive shoulder again. "... Well, it's been months, and I've only found that one. You know, with the cat... you were there. Plus... I don't know. A friend of mine was having trouble in another world, and I went to help her out, but... I guess it was wrong to do that. I should've spent that time looking for Jewel Seeds."

Did Fate come here to see Nanoha? Well... "... I made a promise to you. I had to keep it. Otherwise a promise doesn't mean anything... but yeah, I mean... I'm looking for the Jewel Seeds."

The energy, as Fate remembers from a while back, was actually... "It... it helped. He did get better. It wasn't enough on its own, though. I'm not sure where the rest came from."

Nanoha Takamachi has posed:
Nanoha Takamachi sort of recoils! "W--what was that!? Are you okay, are you hurt?..." she asks softly. She frowns. "I'm sorry. I didn't. Mean to do that. But---it seems like you know that already." she says regaining her smile suddenly.

"You helped a friend, so that's good!" she smiles. "but... it's not like the Jewel Seeds are popping up like like fresh baked muffins.." she says.

She nods. "I'm glad it could help then, though I'm worried where the rest came from if similar methods were used..." she frowns.

"Well.. Fate! If you ever. Want to talk, I work at my family's bakery, Midori-ya sometimes in the mornings and after school! So if you want to drop buy for a muffin or a cupcake and talk over it, you can! But...."

"No fighting in the store. Okay?" she asks softly.

Fate T. Waldia has posed:
"Don't worry about it," says Fate. "I just... get hurt sometimes. It happens."

"... but yeah. The Jewel Seeds just aren't showing up. For a while I thought maybe someone was getting to them before I was, but... no, I don't think that's possible. There would at least be signs of Jewel Seed use, like a monster or something."

Fate looks a little guilty when the energy is mentioned, but she admits, "I don't really know where they got it from. They didn't tell me, but... did it hurt? Having your energy drained like that? I mean... I know it knocked you out. I guess I just wanted to ask what it was like..."

So, Nanoha's family has a bakery? Midori-ya... Fate's almost sure that she has seen that place before. Several times, in fact, though she's never gone in.

"I'm not going to drag your family into this. That's not how I do things, but... sure, if I need to find you again, I'll look for you there."

Fate takes a good long look at Nanoha while she says, "... but you shouldn't go around telling people that. Maybe you feel like you can trust me, and it's not like I would use that information against you, but I know several people who might if you got in their way."

Nanoha Takamachi has posed:
Nanoha Takamachi smiles. "I wouldn't had invited you unless I knew I couldn't trust you a little Fate..." she says. "Infact... I bet you really don't want to fight at all, right? You just want to see your mother smile again and--- if you could get that- you'd stop this, I bet, too. But that's okay. I understand that. There's people I want to protect and see safe, too from these awful things!" she says as her own eyes get a little sad.

"--and I'm not afraid of these other people." she says with a determined look. "I will always fight if they come for me!" she says. "We may not.. have fought properly before...!" she says. "But I know I can fight with Raising Heart at my side!" she says.

The device pings pleasently.

"You'll understand. If you ever have to see my fight." she says.

Fate T. Waldia has posed:
Fate listens as Nanoha responds. She seems a little worried for a moment. She finds it a bit strange, being worried for an enemy. On the other hand, like she said, the fighting wasn't personal. She can't really hate someone who's just trying to make things safe.

"Yeah, well, just saying."

Does Fate want to fight? It's not that simple, she doesn't think. "If I have to fight to obtain or protect what's important to me, then I will. Wanting to or not doesn't have anything to do with it."

Fate glances between Nanoha and Raising Heart. She raises an eyebrow. "... well, we might end up fighting sooner or later. I guess I'll see first hand if I should worry more about your safety or your ability to get in my way."

Nanoha Takamachi has posed:
Nanoha Takamachi grins. "Well you'll have to, because I'm not attacking you for no reason!" she says.

"Hey uh...wanna. Go get a cupcake right now? I bet we can snag one before they get marked down into day old..." she says.

"We can be sneaky and get one before my parents notice." she insists.

"-- besides, I think I had my questions answered! I thank you for keeping your promise!" she beams another smile!

Fate T. Waldia has posed:
Grab a snack? Right now?

Fate wonders, for a moment, how it is that her enemies seem to be nicer than her allies. Does her mother really want her to fight people like this? ... but even as well-meaning as Nanoha is, she's still denying her the Jewel Seeds.

Besides, she shouldn't be questioning her mother like that. She knows best.

... but a little cupcake couldn't hurt.

"... Alright, just this once. ... and thanks for keeping yours. That couldn't have been easy."
