- Ayana has posed:
On a normal day, Tokyo's fabled Mitakihara district is full of shoppers wandering from store to store, partaking in the sights and smells of Japan's very unique culture on overdrive. Cosplaying girls stand outside every store trying to entice visitors inside to buy everything from anime and manga to rotten egg sandwiches and weird clothing. In Mitakihara, even the strange seems normal.
And in December, this charicature of all things Japan goes into overdrive as it prepares for the winter holidays.
That's why it's not terribly strange to see a black-haired girl wandering through the district; a little shy of average height, with brilliant blue eyes, dressed in a lovely red Christmas dress with high candy-striped stockings on her legs, and furry boots on her feet. She has a red headband in her hair that seem to be attached to a pair of fuzzy black fox ears? And because no cosplay is ever too much, she's even got a gigantic bushy black tail sticking out from beneath her dress!
Anywhere else in the world, Ayana might draw strange looks and confusion; mockery from those with open minds, and horror from those without. Here in Mitakihara, however, the Kitsune is free to look exatly how she likes. And if her ears flick to and fro, constantly alert for the various signs and smells and other sensations of the district, then who will notice? After all, computer-driven nekomimi are not too abnormal, in this place.
The foxgirl wanders towards a store with a faint skip in her step, then leans forward to peer into the window at the various clothing designs within, heedless of who might be watching or caring. She steadies her basket--already full of a few clothing items--then peers up at the name of the store. After a moment, she wrinkles her nose, and continues on her way towards hte next store.
- Kyouko Sakura has posed:
Just when Ayana leans over to peer into the window of that store... an arm lands around her shoulder. It's an arm in a white sleeve with an oversize black cuff. It appears to be a friendly gesture, but there's /just/ a little bit too much pressure for Ayana herself to believe that is the case. "Hey there, foxy." A voice all but purrs into one of those black ears atop her head. "You and I need to have a little chat."
Kyouko is in henshin. Luckily, her red and white outfit looks enough like a christmas outfit too that it shouldn't draw too much attention! The giant spear would, but for the moment that is not in evidence. Assuming Ayana does not immidiately freak out in any physical way, Kyouko will try to steer-walk her towards a nearby park bench in the shopping mall, a bit removed from the main walkway.
- Ayana has posed:
The foxgirl tenses immediately, ears flicking backwards to lay flat against her head. She turns and peers at Kyouko, then narrows her eyes. "I don't know you," she points out as she straightens up. Ayana tries to take a step away from Kyouko, just putting distance between them. "Until I know who you are I think right here is just fine a place to talk." She sniffs, faintly, and her ears return to upright alertness, peering at Kyouko. "What do you want?"
- Kyouko Sakura has posed:
Kyouko tightens her grip as Ayana tries to pull away, keeping her still unless she tries even harder. That, at least, makes it clear that this is a threatening gesture and not a 'friendly' one, although someone like Ayana would likely have picked up on that already. She wants to keep Ayana in her power, if she is able to do so.
"Who I am ain't important." She says, her blood-red eyes hard as she peers down at the shorter girl. "What's important is what you recently did to a very special friend of mine. Cute girl, blue hair, baseball bat, bit of a reckless can-do attitude? I'm sure you remember. She ended up in the hospital."
- Ayana has posed:
Ayana tilts her head a little at Kyouko, then narrows her eyes. She doesn't shrug off the hand a second time; certainly she probably could, but she's already figured out that doing so will likely draw unwanted attention to them both.
At the description, however, Ayana's ears perk up with interest, swiveling towards Kyouko. "She had a rattan sword," the kitsune replies. "I broke it. I didn't actually want to hospitalize her, you know. I was hungry, and frustrated, so I took some energy from her. If that stupid fire-girl hadn't intervened, she'd have had a nice nap and woken up wondering what happened."
There's a sneer from Ayana before she notes, "Now last night? Last night I intended to hospitalize her again, since she challenged me. She ran away like a coward before I could finish the job. Apparently someone gave her a little magic, but she's pretty dumb in how she uses it. Why, she your girlfriend?"
- Kyouko Sakura has posed:
Kyouko frowns slightly at Ayana's words, although she essentially already knew that. The reason she had approached in this manner, instead of with her spear-first, is that Sayaka had basically said the same thing- that her being so badly hurt was her own fault for rushing back in when she had a clear chance to escape.
The part about Sayaka fighting again, and with magic no less, is news to her, however. This is something she has to process, but she's not terribly surprised after that same conversation she had with Sayaka in the hospital. Either way, there's nothing she can do about it right now, and its irrelevant to the conversation, so she files it away to deal with later.
"If she challenged you to a fair fight, then that ain't my business." Kyouko says, narrowing her eyes slightly. "But I want to make something very clear to you. That girl is the reason I'm here, talking to you. Ironically, she is also the reason you aren't already dead." Kyouko has a very high opinion of her own abilities, though it's at least somewhat deserved.
"That girl is my conscience. What's done is done, but consider this a warning. If you hurt her again, I won't be so forgiving." She tightens her arm slightly, smirking in a way that bares a fang. "And you /really/ don't want to be on my shit-list."
- Ayana has posed:
Ayana sniffs disapprovingly. "Actually, she challenged me and Riventon to a two-on-" the Kitsune pauses and squints, and her ears twist outwards as she seems to be counting with little nods of her head. Not the brightest apple in the bunch, this one. "-five? Yeah, five," she says with a nod. "Not exactly a 'fair fight', but then ... magical girls never do anything fairly, do they?"
Ayana rolls her eyes, then smiles at Kyouko. "You couldn't kill me if you wanted to. But I'll remember to kick your ass before I kick hers, if we ever get in a fight. She's not really much of a threat, anyways. I can only guess you think you are some kind of badass."
Ayana's eyes are drawn to Kyouko's smile, and she grins in return, baring similar sharp-toothed fangs. "Honestly, it sounds like we've got more than a few things in common. Maybe instead of making threats with your face that your fists can't keep, we should try this again. I respond much better to being asked politely than I do being threatened. Especially when it's from someone dumb enough to get close enough for my gloom to drain them, if I wanted to."
- Kyouko Sakura has posed:
"Fair is for suckers. A quick stab in the back will solve a lot more of your problems than a duel." Kyouko notes, still smirking, although this is a sentiment that Sayaka would absolutely not share. The two have a lot in common, but combat etiquette is not one of them.
If Ayana is trying to bait her, it doesn't work- or at least, Kyouko seems to find the fox-girl's assertions more amusing than worrisome. She finally releases her arm from around the girl and steps back a foot or two. "S'all I ask, chibi-kitsune. You want to get to her, you come through me first. I'll send you home with your tail between your legs. And hell, if I don't, I'll be dead and won't be able to worry about it anyway."
She quirks a brow, her mind filing away what Ayana says about her 'gloom'. "Keep distance.. check. Little hint, darlin', it doesn't usually pay to tip off potential enemies to the way your powers work. Helps avoid 'em in the future." She starts backing away, towards the crowd. "But be careful what you wish for. Maybe you should do a little research of your own. Ask around about the 'Terror of Kazamino' sometime. I don't use that name much anymore, but there are still people around who remember it." She laughs, and then turns her back. "I'll be seein' ya, kid."
- Ayana has posed:
"Man, your girlfriend really is dumb," Ayana says with a snicker, but she does watch Kyouko go, ears alert until Kyouko is well and truly out of sight. And then, when finally she is certain the other girl isn't coming for her, Ayana bares her fangs in irritation and heads for an alleyway. Once out of sight, she jumps into the air and takes to the rooftops, hastily heading back towards Umbra headquarters to talk to her master.
