Broken Crown

This is an arc page for five closely-linked scenes, covering the change of the year from 2015 to 2016, the fracturing of the Dark Kingdom's hold on Jadeite, and his subsequent flight to a new year and new beginning.

• Prelude: How Dare You Speak Of Grace - two and a half weeks earlier: the kidnapping and replacement of Mamoru Chiba, in which Jadeite participated much more closely than he finds out he really wanted to, and in the course of which he discovered that some things were much worse than losing his brothers. (Content warning: horror, torture, basically grim.)

• Your Values Are All Shot - December 30. Jadeite's world is going slowly to pieces. Again. Kunzite makes a try at catching him; in the end, it's more that Jadeite finally finds a reason to catch himself.
• In This Twilight - December 31. Dark Endymion finds Jadeite. Jadeite finds Dark Endymion not to his liking-- and the cracks begin to show.
• Our Choices Seal Our Fate - Immediately following "In This Twilight," and crossing into January 1. Kunzite seeks out Jadeite once more, possibly for the last time. Questions are answered. Choices are made. And endings are always beginnings.
• An Unexpected Guest - Fleeing from the Dark Kingdom, Jadeite visits the Hikawa Shrine, where a previous youma attack had shown him a connection between a certain miko and the Senshi. He finds Rei and Ami, who eventually swap out for Mars and Mercury. Agreements are made to help Jadeite break free of the Dark Kingdom.
• Strength In Pain - Mars and Mercury take Jadeite to meet Moon and Venus - and the Senshi fight... but, uh, they don't fight Jadeite. Or a monster. And at the end, for the first time in years, he's free.
