Cast of Characters: | Ikuto Tsukiyomi, Ayana |
- Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
It's right after school on Saturday, and while the people below are probably messing about with club activities, Ikuto's up on the roof of Seiyou Public School. He's still in his uniform, so he's unmistakeably a student there. He's not really doing anything. He's just sort of ... hanging out.
He's lying down on the roof, arms folded behind his head, looking up at the sky. And beside him, Yoru is having the time of his life pouncing on a yellow ball, rolling the thing around next to Ikuto. Quiet time is quiet! There's almost a smile on Ikuto's face.
Almost.
- Ayana has posed:
Quiet as a fox, Ayana makes her way through the halls of Seiyou Public School, drifting from hallway to hallway as her curiosity compels her. The school being one of the larger ones, it isn't an easy place to explore--particularly when she has no idea where she's going or what she's looking for. Consequently, when the black-haired girl emerges onto the roof, she pauses and widens her eyes. "What?" she says confusedly, then looks back the way she came. Her black dress--definitely not regulation schoolwear--flares out at the hem as she makes a complete turn, then furrows her brow. "How did I wind up here? Hey," she calls to Ikuto. "How do I get out of this place?" Ayana stalks her way towards the boy, sandals making hardly a sound.
- Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
As soon as he hears someone on the roof with him, the almost-smile disappears from his face. He sits up, looking flatly in the direction of the voice. When he realizes she's heading in his direction, he stands. "...You're lost?" he inquires. His voice is quiet, almost hard to hear over the wind up here. "...Where were you going?"
In the meantime, Yoru quietly flies over to where Ikuto's left his bookbag. It's a handheld bookbag, not a backpack, so the flap has an opening in the side where the top flap is taller than the side. This is where Yoru's trying to push the ball he'd been playing with through. "Nnnnnngh... Get in there, nya..." When pushing with his front paws doesn't work, Yoru turns around and starts to push the ball with his back, paw-feet scrabbling against the roof. finally he manages, and tumbles back with an indignant "Nya!"
Ikuto pretends not to notice, but his lips twitch a little in the direction of a smile.
- Ayana has posed:
Ayana blinks at the response, and in fact takes a step back. Or maybe it's the sight of Yoru that has her stepping back. She certainly glances towards Ikuto's bookbag, but if she does notice the little cat familiar, she doesn't say anything about it. "Uh," she says, then looks back to Ikuto. "I don't know, I was just trying to meet people at the school. My parents told me I can go to any school I want, and that I should explore the schools and meet people to find out which I like, but no one's here and I wound up on the roof instead of the front door and ... hi. I'm Ayana Moriko. Do you know the way out?" Pause. "Actually, do you know where I can get some food?"
- Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
Ikuto raises a brow when she looks at his bookbag. But until she says anything, he's not going to blow his cover. Maybe she just noticed it shifting around weirdly, maybe she didn't see Yoru. Who knows? Hard to tell.
Either way, Ikuto looks back to her as she turns her attention back to him. He stays quiet while she speaks, and asks her question. In fact he stays quiet a few moments longer than that. Might be long enough to fear he's not going to answer.
Ordinarily he'd have just Chara Changed and hopped down from the roof, but he couldn't do that with her here. But if she's lost, then...
Fortunately for Ayana, Ikuto is not as much of a jackass as he wants people to think he is. He heads over to his bookbag and picks it up, then loops the strap over his shoulder. Yoru floats up to Ikuto's shoulder in the meantime. As he starts to walk past Ayano, he pauses, then turns and looks in her direction. "This way. Cafeteria's closed, but there are vending machines outside." And then he makes for the stairs leading back into the building.
- Ayana has posed:
Ayana watches Ikuto as he stares at her, then worries at her lip with a fang when he wanders towards his bookbag. She tilts her head faintly at Yoru, but still says nothing. Then she looks back to Ikuto once more when he finally turns back to face her. "Oh," she says, then hops a step forward to get her feet moving as she falls in line behind him. "Uh. Thanks! That's great!" Beat. "So do you go to school here?"
- Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
"Mhm." That's about all the answer Ayano gets to her question. But as if he'd remembered that he actually DID have some manners buried somewhere in there, he speaks up in the next instant. "I'm Ikuto." He pauses a moment, turning just enough to send Yoru a glance out of the corner of his eye.
As if in reply, Yoru nods. Still clinging to Ikuto's shoulder, the little cat familiar turns around to fix a look at Ayana. And then he reaches up... and pulls his lower eyelid down, sticking out his tongue at Ayana, with a distinct "Nyaaaa~!"
Yes, Ikuto told him to do that. Because Ayana keeps looking in Yoru's direction. Ikuto wants to know if she can see him or if the physical disturbances are just attracting her attention. If she reacts to an akanbe being aimed at her, then it'll be clear proof.
- Ayana has posed:
Ayana blinks just a little, but as reactions go it's not much of one. Instead, she folds her hands together and says, "It's very nice to meet you, Ikuto-senpai. Thank you for showing me the way out. What's it like here at Seiyou School, anyways? Is it a nice place to go to school? Should I think about coming here?"
- Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
So she doesn't seem to react to Yoru's rudeness. Ikuto turns his head to look at Yoru again, and then tilts his head to the left in a quick gesture. Understanding it, Yoru flies down to Ikuto's bookbag and squeezes in as Ikuto lifts the flap just enough for him to squeeze under it. There. Now he won't cause any physical disturbances that Ayana can see.
Ikuto heads to out to the PE yard near the gym, where the vending machines are. He doesn't repond to the thanks, but to the questions he pauses. "...It's a school." As for whether she should come to Seiyou? "Depends on what your parents want. And whether they can afford Verone or not." Oh he totally knows about that place.
- Ayana has posed:
When they reach the vending machines, Ayana pokes her nose against the glass and peers at the food inside, then frowns just faintly. She pokes her finger at the glass, then takes a step back. "Hey, can I borrow some money? I forgot to bring some, and I'm /really/ hungry." She glances towards Ikuto, then asks, "What's Verone?"
- Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
Ikuto pauses, looking at Ayana flatly. It's not that he doesn't have it. It's just a bit awkward. Still, maybe he's feeling particularly charitable today. "...What do you want?" he inquires. Stuff costs different amounts after all.
The question of Verone gets an answer! "A school. An elite private school. Very expensive to go to."
- Ayana has posed:
Ayana points at the vending machine, towards a beef stick in the top left corner. "That looks super tasty," she says, grinning at him broadly. Those little fangs of hers are all too visible in her smile, and more than a little bit weird. "Thank you so much, Ikuto-senpai! I don't know if we can afford an elite expensive private school."
- Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
Ikuto reaches into his pocket and retrieves the necessary amount from his wallet, then goes over to the machine. Insert money, punch in the number, and the requested treats should fall down into the catcher. "If you're talented you could try Infinity," Ikuto suggests. "Seishou's a public school, but they don't have an auditorium. They use ours. And Seiyou's been around longer." He knows the schools, overall.
- Ayana has posed:
Ayana wrinkles her nose in disapproval at the suggestion. "I didn't like Infinity when I visited," she admits. "Too many weirdos. And the teachers are all really mean." She reaches for the meaty treat, and peels it open quickly. "Ahhhhmp!" she says as she takes a bite. "Mmm. Thank you!"
- Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
"Mn." Makes sense. Most of the people are in infinity because they're talented. The teachers may have thought Ayana wasn't worth their time because she didn't immediately present herself as massively talented. Who knows? "Verone's expensive. I'm told it's worth it. But if it's between Seiyou and Seishou, it depends on what you and your parents want. Anything in particular?"
- Ayana has posed:
"Friends," Ayana says with a faint shrug, and a smile towards Ikuto. "That's all I really want. And teachers who are nice and will let me eat in class because I am /always/ hungry." She takes another bite of her meat stick, but doesn't really bother to chew: bite, swallow, smile.
- Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
Friends. The one thing Ikuto doesn't know how to obtain in school. There's a somber look from the boy as he considers this. Though he's not voicing what thoughts cause this somber look. Leaning against the wall next to one of the machines, Ikuto crosses his arms over his chest. "...I guess you'd want to find out what clubs a school had, then. See if they align with your interests." That's how you make friends, right? Hang out with people who like the same stuff you do?
- Ayana has posed:
Ayana makes a face, then shrugs. "I guess?" she admits. "I've ... never really had any friends, so I don't know. I think I've talked to you more than I've talked to anyone even close to my age, before." She smiles a little self-consciously, then shoves the rest of the meaty treat in her mouth. This time, she's forced to at least chew it twice before she swallows. "Are you in any clubs?"
- Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
That's sad, it really is. Ikuto shaes his head a little, as if in marveling at that. Honestly he figures himself to be the absolute last person anyone wants to call a 'friend'. As for if he's in any clubs? He shakes his head again, this time as a negative response. "No."
- Ayana has posed:
"... oh," Ayana replies, then frowns a little. She curls the empty wrapper around her finger, then clears her throat. "Uh ..." she starts to say, then trails off. Awkward, much? "Well ... if I joined Seiyou, maybe we could start a club for people who like to hang out on the roof?"
- Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
"If there were enough people who liked to hang out on the roof of the school to make a club, there would have been more people on the roof," Ikuto points out. Unspoken is, of course, that he probably wouldn't have been there himself. "I work, I don't usually have time for clubs."
- Ayana has posed:
"W...well," Ayana tries, but manages to come up with absolutely nothing else. "Uh." She starts, then falters once more. "Well it was very nice to meet you. I guess I'll be on my way. Thank you for buying me something to eat. It was very nice of you."
- Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
Ikuto gives an affirmative sound. "You might want to start carrying change to school if you can," he offers. "Some students buy their lunches from the vending machines, some bring them from home." Surprise, surprise-- something helpful! Also? "Good luck on your search for a school. I hope you find what you're looking for." Gadzooks, something POLITE too!
- Ayana has posed:
"Thank you," Ayana replies with a smile. "I hope you have a nice day." Then, she turns and walks towards the field, heading for the nearest visible exit from the school.
