TXT: Romance Advice
Date of Scene: 11 November 2015
Location: Text Messages
Synopsis: Suzuki needs some advice in how to actually date a cute girl and be romantic. So she turns to her friend Mamoru because she knows he's thorough. ...at least there's that.
Cast of Characters: Suzuki Natsume, Mamoru Chiba

TXT from Suzuki Natsume: Do you know much about romance and dating? I don't know much about it and ended up with a date with someone. I don't know what to do. Is there a guide to it somewhere?
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: I've read a lot of books. Are you on the date already, or preparing? I can give you a reading list.
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: Not on it yet. I think texting mid-date would be a terrible idea? Probably? The reading list would be helpful, thank you!'
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: It would be a terrible idea, unless you ran to the bathroom and texted in a panic from there. Give me a few and I'll get the list together for you. Also, congratulations!
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: Er, provided it's someone you like.
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: Thank you! And yes, true. I guess there are some exceptions. I think I like them! I am intending to get to know them more and go from there. They're a nice person though! We intend to teach each other our sports of choice, which should be fun... my kendo practice might be helpful in learning how to play tennis.
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: ...tennis, EH?
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: Yes! ... Why?
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: Well as long as they're not the Infinity tennis instructor-- who's both spoken for and missing-- I wish you all the victory in the world. A bit of romance is an excellent cure for the dreariness of school life, after all.
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: Uhm... nope! I think that would make the tennis instructor lose their job if I dated them. ...I have this strange feeling like I should be getting something from your text that I'm not, though.
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: Ah! Never mind, then, I was fishing.
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: It's Katsu-san, from Verone.
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: ...Don't let my parents know, I think they'd be livid.
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: Oh don't worry, I won't. Even aside from not generally speaking with your parents, if you ever need a cover story or an enabler, let me know.
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: Thank you, I will! Luckily my parents have just given up on trying to convince me to stay home more than I do, I've honestly been avoiding it wherever I can ... they take the excuse of me going out to help people pretty easily now.
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: Excellent! Parents /can/ be taught, this is also good to know.
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: My parents are so stuck in their ways I think it'd be easier to teach them german.
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: Aahahaha. That's cruel and unusual!
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: The point was more teaching them something I don't even know would be easi... well... I guess arguably I don't really know anything about romance or anything like that either, so maybe not.
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: Do you want to know a secret?
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: Is it one that would endanger you or anyone else you know?
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: No, just get me in trouble with a cat.
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: Well... cats can be pretty vicious... <insert bandage emoticon here>
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: So arguably yes but I think I can handle the scratches.
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: Hahaha
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: I'm semi-secretly dating Tsukino-san from Seishou.
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: The scratches hurt so much worse than they actually are. T-T But anyway! I won't spread it around, so hopefully you won't get in that much trouble!
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: ...OMG! That sounds so cute! A secret relationship with someone! I... uhm. I don't really know Tsukino-san, but I'm sure they're a lovely person if you like them!
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: [this pic minus forehead moon]
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: That's from the dance at Infinity last Thursday. :)
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: ...The imposter nurse! ... I guess she really was just there to look after you because she was worried though. Are you happy with her? <catface emoticon here>
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: Hahaha, yes, her! And yes-- so very, very happy.
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: Congratulations! I'm glad! You seemed like you were maybe a little lonely sometimes.
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: Thank you! I think I was. I just didn't notice it until it went away. --let me get that list together for you, though.
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: Thank you again. My parents had me training so much I never really had time for romance or dating... now I guess nothing has changed, but I've started having to make time for a lot of things, so I'm getting better at making time! (...10m later he texts her a link to a pastebin of books ranked in order with what specifically they're useful for, with page numbers and/or chapters noted down.)
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: No problem, and yesssss goooood. Hahaha. Have fun! And tell me how it goes.
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: Oh wow, that's even better than I expected! I'll try to! She already showed me how to play some video-games the other day. I kept wanting to try to do the actions of the characters themselves...
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: It sounds like you're doing pretty well without the reading material, to be perfectly honest. Also: if you went to the arcade, you might enjoy some of the videogames that require full-body coordination. Ask Motoki Furuhata about it, tell him I sent you -- he's usually on duty there in the afternoons.
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: Oh marshmallow goodness, actually she took me back to her house for it! I was so nervous. o_o;;; Anyway! Maybe taking her the arcade for stuff like that could be fun! I imagine just playing tennis or having a kendo match wouldn't be a very good date, huh? ^^;
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: Why not? If you both enjoy it and get to know each other better through it, it definitely counts. I think, though, you should ask her what she thinks.
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: Probably a good idea! Hmm... though I think that might be a normal spending time together thing than a date! Like sparring with Hannah, or you!
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: A lot of dates can be like that, though. After all, you should be friends with who you're dating, too!
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: Well... I mean... you call them a boyfriend or a girlfriend. It seems very common sense that you should be friends... right? Are there couples that aren't friends with each other? That seems weird.
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: It's weird and unhealthy, but pretty common.
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: I guess I'm not one to judge since I'm completely inexperienced, but that really does sound weird. I hope that they can at least become friends later!
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: I hope so too!
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: Also, definitely take her to the next dance. :3
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: Oh marshmallow goodness I think I would get so embarassed I would pass out!
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: Plenty of girls dance with other girls, or go to dances with other girls, and aren't dating. You won't even get looked at funny.
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: Everything will be lovely, Suzu-chan. Don't worry.
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: I'm not so worried about that! There's just ... so many people! I wouldn't even begin to know how to handle it! ... A-anyway, when is the dance?
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: However! I have to get some work done on this project because -- haha -- I have a date tomorrow! --oh? In a month, you have plenty of time to think about it.
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: Oh! I hope that the project goes well! If you need any help with it, feel free to text me! Enjoy your date!
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: I will! It's an ethics project, my partner's a friend of mine, new-ish transfer student. Actually if you want to get the study group going again, we should do that-- he needs more friends, too, I think.
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: The study group sounds like a good idea. I still am bad at english... I just can't grasp the grammar, and it's just as bad with german, too. T_T
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: Study group it is, then! I'll work out the details with you later.
TXT from Suzuki Natsume: Okay! Talk to you later!
Mamoru Chiba TXT to Suzuki Natsume: ^_^b
