Synopsis: | Lacrima meets Seth after some things have happened to him- such as youma attacks and a warning from a shrine miko about dark influences. He talks about something that happened to him when he was a child, Lacrima thinks this will end badly. |
Cast of Characters: | Norie Okana, Seth Locke |

Raining. In the evening. Night time. This is perfect weather for Lacrima. Rain is...peaceful. To her. That pitterpatter of thousands of little steps against pavement--- refreshing what smell of cordite from hot pavement being cooled rapidly isn't a concern.
Soon it'll be winter. Soon it'll snow. Snow is pretty too, in it's own way. This makes her think of the wintery girl she met.
She is thinking to herself as she walks under her umbrella, about things.
Her birthday passed. Jiaying did a thing for her. It..made her feel a little better about the confusion caused by the fight the other week.
She isn't out hunting. That much is sure. She's in normal clothes. She isn't paying attention too hard.
She looks at passing people also under umbrellas or in rain slickers or ponchos.
She stops under a street light and looks up at it a moment, perhaps in thought, as the light flickers a moment- like the power almost went out. It doesn't though.
Thunder echoes a little in the distance suddenly.
She frowns at this. Rain is peaceful. Thunder is... thunder.
- Seth Locke has posed:
Rain. Yes, it's peaceful. It's soothing. It's melancolic. It's nostalic.
Sitting on the bench of a bus station, Seth is waiting; maybe for a bus to arrive, maybe for the rain to pass; the latter seems unlikely, since he does have an umbrella with him. However, the focused stare looking at some blank point in space could make one wonder if he's not zoning out - how long has he been sitting there?
- Norie Okana has posed:
Lacrima looks back down, a little more coherent, the thunder in the distance is ruining her train of thought. She makes an annoyed face as she walks to the sidewalk and pass the bus stop---
And Seth Locke.
She stops a moment and blinks once before head tilting. "Seth." she says. She head tilts. She remembers. Something... or... other. Though remembering two parts of memories in the same place is confusing. Something about. That fight.
Still she purses her lips. "You seem like you're thinking." pause.
"Did you get hurt by the creature I summoned?" she asks.
- Seth Locke has posed:
When he hears his name, the only movement he makes is the motion of his eyes in the direction the sound came. He blinks once, and then his eyes are back into the stare. "I am", he replies, "and no."
A moment passes, and afterwards he asks, "Why did you call that thing anyways?"
- Norie Okana has posed:
Lacrima head tilts and purses her lips. "I'm trying to control my powers better. That involves doing things like that." she says. "I was trying to. Summon a particular creature. But that was not it." she says. "But it was like it." she says. "I.. lost control of it. And it escaped. It wasn't particularly my intention to-- send it anywhere." she mutters.
"I'm sorry." she says. "Did you not encounter anything major until that point?" she asks.
- Seth Locke has posed:
Seth Locke finally straightens up, and looks at the vampire girl. "Like what?" He shrugs, "Like, the crazy lady who had nothing but sweets on her head, and turned a whole theme park in candy land?" He shrugs again. "Or the girls out there who can go all powered up?" Again, another shrug. "Or the shadow things that attack you and try to devour your emotions?"
- Norie Okana has posed:
Lacrima head tilts. "Ah... you've encountered some denizen's of the Dusk Zone." she says. "And... other.. powered people. It seems." she says. "... The shadow things that try to..."
She taps her bottom lip. She remembers offhanded seeing a recent Eclipse report about Wraiths-- she was searching the keyword 'emotions'.
"I'm not personally familiar with the last. But I'd like to keep what little emotion I have left." she says curtly.
"I see then." she says. "So." she says.
"What has you...."
She grumbles a bit.
"I'm sorry. I have trouble...recongizing.. things..."
"...Depressed...?" she makes her best guess on memory alone. It may be wrong.
- Seth Locke has posed:
"Oh, just going through old memories that like to pop back up every now and then", he says. "They've been resurfacing more and more, now that I've come into contact with magic." He chuckles, "And then, I realized... I'd come into contact with it before, when I was very young."
- Norie Okana has posed:
Lacrima head tilts. "Oh?" she asks. "What happened?" she asks. "When you were young? Or. Do you not remember?" she asks.
"My first experience was not very pleasant." she says. "Sometimes I wonder if it was some god's way of punishing me because I didn't use the money on something else more worthwhile than a 'pretty necklace." she says.
"But that's a silly accusation to make. If there was a god to begin with he wouldn't let this happen to anyone like me." she also adds.
Cynical as hell apparently.
- Seth Locke has posed:
"I do remember", Seth says. "It marks me until this day." Instinctively, he raises a hand up to his chest.
"Don't", he immediately says when Lacrima brings about the subject of 'god'. "Don't bring that into the equation; this is not the classical idea of 'god'."
- Norie Okana has posed:
Lacrima raises her brows. "You have a mark? From magic?" she then furrows her brow. "So let me get this straight. You have a magical mark. And. You've been warned to stay away from dark influences." she head tilts. "What... what marked you?" she asks.
She frowns. "Why not? People often say things like. 'Oh my god.' , 'Gods, I hate this'. But if they were actually talking to anyone..." she shakes her head.
"Nevermind." she says sourly.
- Seth Locke has posed:
"Apparently", he says - (Apparently? Really? Geez, man! Get your head stright!) -, "my mother did, or at least was doing, something to me. I dunno what."
"But, I suppose, that it's because of either this, or me having had an encounter with magic back then, that I have somehow been able to experience magic more clearly than your average person. Like, being able to see what'd be otherwise unseen."
On the subject of 'god'. "You'll have to try and look at other sources for what you're thinking, I think. I just have no idea which ones."
- Norie Okana has posed:
Lacrima frowns. "You're going to end up in a bad place." she says quietly.
"You have too many questions. You've been...warned away from dark influences." she says. "You're lucky." she says.
"I never got a warning. Or a premonition. And I thought stuff like... being a vampire.. only existed in movies- and books and media." she says.
"If you end up... touched." she says. "By the dark." she says.
"It changes you. Pay attention to your... thoughts and-- feelings." she says. "And choose what you..channel.. lightly." she says.
"I am often channeling.. my... sadness and despair." she says. "Someone I know. Channels his darkness into anger. And he is often angry at things when he needs to use his power." she says.
"Regardless.. your choice will have...consequences." she says. "Some. Worse than others. Some acceptable. But.. you'll never. Use such power. To do 'good'." she bites.
"It talks to you. You know." she says. "Whispers. You'll listen it to it. Eventually."
"Of course. Right now. You seem... okay." she offers.
"Just..."
"Be..careful?" she asks. Like she was trying to go for concern but ended up confused and her face scrunched. "I should... go..." she says.
"I'm..depressing myself. I'm sorry." she says flatly. No she isn't. She's just saying it because it's expected. 'I'm sorry'.
Then a pause. Before she goes she produces a jet black card with a phone number on it. the phone number has five more digits than a normal phone number. It seems very odd. "That's a .... number. I can be reached. Or texted at. I know it...seems weird. But. That number will work. It's.. some sort.. of.. magic... phone thing." she waves a hand off.
"If you find yourself...lost..." she says.
"I have... a place. I stay. Two places. One more private than the other." she says. "and one of my friends-- who isn't. Like me... dark. Doesn't..mind. Things like me. She was. The foxgirl. I was talking to.. or think.. I was talking to. That night." she says.
"Anyways. I should..."
"Go. Like I said." she says before she calmly begins walking back off into the rain.
- Seth Locke has posed:
Lacrima's next sentence strikes Seth like he was right at the point of contact between two colliding planets.
'Going to end up in a bad place' is rather strong for someone who's in a crisis, right now. All this makes his head empty to the next things Lacrima tells him.
There's no 'see you later' that comes from him; his mind is racing, going over the events of that day...
'She killed herself', he thinks. 'She did it to save me. Me and Amy.'
He looks at his hands. 'Am I really...?' They start trembling. 'Does this mean I'll...?'
It's raining. It should be peaceful. It should be soothing. But it's not. Instead, it's a front for the storm that ravages his mind. It mimics the tears that are falling from his face.
The young man cries, the only person under that bus station light. At the border of that light, everything seem like solid darkness.
