A Spark of inspiration

Synopsis:	Spark gets a new idea after finding out Sakura was attacked. Training her! Hopefully she survives.

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto was walking down the street, no longer skipping. The recent events were still on her mind and was getting a little bit worse. She'd called the ECHF, but only gotten their voicemail. She really didn't know who else to call. She had a lot of friends, but which ones could she call on? What if they were all busy? Did she really want to bother them?

What could she have done, otherwise? That girl had come at her with an axe! She'd tried to cut her in half! If not for through and then little, she'd probably be dead now! Almost guaranteed! Even worse, she'd been alone. She didn't have any cards that could... hold up to something like that. Did she? She had some strong ones. But nothing that could stop an axe.

Naomi Yomada is rather quiet. She's decided on when she was going to drop in on Kami-sama. Tomorrow as it were. Today she just had way too much on her mind. Way too much. Between the thousand ideas of things that could go wrong with the looming fight with the Phantom Empire and the lunacy of fighting a bunch of magical cards that tried to ice over Tokyo, She desperately needed to catch her breath.

Quietly the young girl is making her way towards the ocean. Towards that nice peaceful spot at the Harbor where she can just sit and let the ocean carry away her worries. With her is Lilac who is looking a little under the weather today. The events of yesterday got her good and sick. Nothing can be done about it save for nursing her back to health.

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto froze in place when she caught sight of the other girl. Her eyes went wide and then... She ran up behind the girl and gave her a great big hug! "Naomi-kun! I am so, so, so glad to see you! I... I really need your advice!"

Oh dear. She had yet to notice how upset the other girl seemed. Otherwise she'd never have bothered her. But, it was a bit too late now.

Naomi Yomada has posed:
Naomi Yomada blinks a few times and whips around at the embrace. She isn't so far out of it that she whipped around swinging at least. She simply blinks and hugs the younger girl right. "Its okay, What is it Sakura-chan?" She speaks softly not drawing much attention to her own issues.

Naomi is actually happy for the distraction for a change. She doesn't say anything more then the simple question. She wants to help her younger friend out. Maybe that would help her with her own issues.

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto held onto her and then gulped. "someone... just tried to kill me," she said softly. "Again. but... but this time... they... they targeted me." She quivered just a bit, taking a deep breath. "I... I managed to fend them off and--" And then paused. Wait, what if they'd KNOWN her? What if Mara was someone from... before? From the year she lost? What if she was an old enemy? What if she? New panic began to rise in her, but she shook her head.

"I-I don't know why. I was in the arcade and... and she started... picking on me. Then she told me to run and... and I was going to! I thought I'd just use my magic and get away, no need for anyone to get hurt, but then she had magic too and she had this giant axe and...and she tried to cut me in half!"

Naomi Yomada blinks a few times. "Sounds like you have all the fun!" She giggles a little. Its not a usual laugh for her. Its a half hearted one. Like she's trying to push away her own troubles. Quietly she continues holding the girl. "You are going to need a way to contact some friends. As awesome as your cards are, sometimes you just need friends. Now I don't have a normal phone. I don't have a phone number." She giggles. This time much more authentic. "My moms tried to give me a phone and I took it apart to see how it worked. When I put it back together it went boom! Smoked up the entire classroom and caused us all to have to evacuate."

She pulls out the pink smartphone type device. She looks at it for a few moments. "This is not a phone." She smiles. "This is a Cure Line. I was warned by Blue not to take it apart. Its sorta magic. So if I take it apart it won't work anymore and I won't be allowed another. Anyway The catch is with these, If you have one you're expected to help out when its needed. Pretty Cures just work a lot better together." She giggles. "If you would like one, I can ask Blue to give you one. But thats your choice. Either way. Call for help. Always!"

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto nodded. "Uh huh. I called Mamoha-sempai and the others at the house once I got away. But... I don't know if Little is going to work a second time. I didn't... I didn't want to involve anyone else. I'm pretty sure I can... take her if I have to but... but..." She chewed on her lower lip for a moment.

"I don't want to hurt her. I don't think my magic is strong enough to bind her. But I... I have magic that might defeat her but it... might really, really hurt her and I don't want to do that either. I don't even know why she targeted me. She might have... known me... maybe."

She eyed the device. Then her eyes lit up. "Y-you mean... I'd... I'd be able to talk to ALL the pretty cutes?" Yes, she said it like that. "l-Like you AND Flora? That'd be amazing! I'd love that! I do have a cell phone, though. But a line with the pretty cutes... that'd be amazing..."

Naomi Yomada has posed:
Naomi Yomada smiles, "Well, Not ALL Precures. You see, These are things that Blue-sama gives out to the Precures he created. You know? The ones who are expected to fight the Phantom empire. So I don't think Cure Flora would have one. Not yet anyway. Eventually she might though right?" She giggles, "Keep in mind if you want one of these it isn't just Tokyo Precures you'd be helping out. There are Precures all over the world that are fighting with the Phantom Empire. The Amercian ones have a team called the Bomber Girls. There are ones in Hawaii, France, Australia... Its really cool to chat with some of them sometimes. Cure Southern Cross' accent is really cute!

She smiles a little and then frowns over the whole situation. "Well I hope they can help you more. What kind of magical girl was she? A Senshi? A Puella? I don't think there are any precures that carry an axe..."

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto blinked a few times. "Err... a... something? She said her name was Mara. But... I don't know what kind of magical girl she was. But she jumped onto the roof in like, one leap and then tried to cut me off. and even when I shrunk her down to ant sized she could still leave craters." She then clenched her fists under her chinand shook her head.

"N-no! I don't mind! I... I need to get strong! I need to be stronger! Like... like all of you! Like Flora-sempai and and Gull-sempai and Hannah-sempai and Yuuki-kun and... Err... e-everyone! You're all working so, so hard a-and you keep saving me so... so I wanna learn to help and save everyone else! To... to become strong like the rest of you!"

Naomi Yomada has posed:
Naomi Yomada looks at Sakura and smiles a little. "You aren't the only one who needs to get stronger." She gives a little weak smile. "We could train together a little bit. Sure we are different but, maybe having a friend who you can practice with will help?"

She looks towards the ocean which is still a good distance away. Her eyes close as she takes off her glasses and wipes them off. "Its really a lot to think about."

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto nodded and gave her a big grin. "I... I'd like that! Learning how to be stronger, how to fight better. How to better use my magic. How long have you been doing this for, Naomi-kun? Has it been long?"

She gave her a big, trusting spark. "I mean, you got a bunch of those cards, right? The... ummmm... cop one? and... and you're so brave, calling out those bad people! So... so you must be really experienced and strong, right?"

Naomi Yomada has posed:
Naomi Yomada smiles a little, "I've only been at this for a few months. I do have a bunch of cards. As far as being brave? Honestly I am a bit more curious then brave. Gull-chan came to me and said about taking the fight to the Phantom Empire. I thought she meant going to the Blue Sky Kingdom which is extremely dangerous place for Precures. Rumor has it there is a dark magic there that weakens Precures. She meant calling them out here. I don't like seeing people hurt. I don't want to see people stuck in mirrors. I started thinking what would happen if I really did call out One of them? Sakura-chan, my curiosity is literally part of what fuels my power. Its good but bad too. The English have a saying, Curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back. So yeah I sorta have a problem with just trying things and seeing what works."

She snickers a little. "Well I guess the best place to practice would be somewhere we won't draw so much attention! I know some of those people out there do these fancy barriers. I can't do them. I just fight when I have to. So... Lets figure a place out?"

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto nodded, taking it all in. "Wow. That's so brave. I... I wonder if I could do something like that." She gave a shudder. "Your enemies sound really scary, what with the... stuff you've told me. You... you know if you ever need help, you only ever have to call me, right? I... I know I'm not strong now, but... but Kero-chan says one day, if I can capture all the cards, I'll be the strongest living mage in the whole world!" She paused then. "I think he's exaggerating, though. But I think I will be strong. I might not be able to do much now, but eventually I think I'll be able to do a whole lot. so... if you need me, call me. Please."

She nodded and tapped her chin, crossing her arms and looking thoughtful. Then her eyes lit up. "We could go to one of the islands by the bridges? At night no one would be by them!"

Naomi Yomada has posed:
Naomi Yomada smiles and gives the girl a hug. "I will. Okay. As for the place? Maybe we could do that. As long as we don't draw too much attention to ourselves we should be good. I know that magic can be really flashy!"

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto hugged her right back before nodding. She grabbed her hand and started lightly running towards the bridge. "Want me to use my float card to get us there? It's really good. I... don't think we should swim." She glanced down at the piles of snow, most of which had melted but some stil lremained. "Not at all."

Naomi Yomada has posed:
Naomi Yomada smiles a little. "Okay, lets go there via float card." She giggles And gets ready to go for a ride. Usually she would go for a flight. That is the fastest way for her to get around. "So. Lets see what Float can do!" She states and gets ready to do this.

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto nodded and once they were on the beach and no one was around, she held out her key. "Key that holds the power of darkness. Reveal your true form to me! I, sakura, order you by our covenant! Release!" Her wand formed and she smiled, grinning. She then turned towards Naomi and took her hand. "Float!"

A bubble of magic surrounded them, gently lifting them into the air and then floating them through the air towards the small island, soon dropping them down. "So... how do we do this? I uhhh... I've never practiced with magic before."

Naomi Yomada has posed:
Naomi Yomada smiles as they float along. Its a really pretty way to travel. Maybe a little slow but definitely peaceful. She looks out across the water and smiles. "I love the ocean. No matter what is going on, You can look at it. Its so big. You could tell it anything and no one would ever about it."

As they touch down, she snickers to Sakura. "Well, First, I am going to do this." She gets out her prechan mirror, "Time to Change!" Immediately the area is flooded with violet light and yellow lightning bolts striking all around. Naomi's hair changes from its normal look to its long and glowing form, She is wearing a glowing purple slip. "Pretty Cure! Rolling Mirror Change!" Instantly her clothing begins changing turning into her Pretty Cure outfit. As soon as she is dressed, She pulls off that slip and tosses it revealing herself as Cure Spark. She draws the intersecting lighting bolts, "Curiosity, Sparking the fires if Creativity! CURE SPARK!" She poses quick and the light show fades. "There. Better. If we are playing with magic I want to make sure that I can do stuff!"

Cure Spark smiles to Sakura. "Okay first thing is first. You've got these awesome cards and stuff. But what can you do?" She asks curiously. "Remember you're the one calling the shots. You might not get the chance to tell your cards what to do. I know you've got a staff. What can you do with it?"

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto nodded, gasping and clasping her hands together. "Oh Spark-kun, you're so cool! I really wish I could do that. That's probably the only thing I am sad I can't do with my magic," she mumbled, crossing her arms. "I didn't even care about it, at first. But it seems like it'd be really, really useful to just be able to change into a battle costume like that!"

Then she blushed. "Though... I guess Tomoyo-chan always helps and when she has an idea of what kind of card or where it will be, she always makes the perfect out fit for me to ensure it works well. So I can't really complain too much. I can't imagine anyone else has friends so dedicated." She, of course, was in her school uniform today. "So, what do we do first?" She drew a card. "Ive never trained my magic before."

Naomi Yomada has posed:
Naomi Yomada smiles, "I could say you are lucky though. I don't have any power unless I transform. Plus there are ways a Pretty cure can be forced to power down. Its not fun. You can use your cards any time you want." She smiles a little. "Don't worry you will be fine!"

She takes a deep breath. "The first thing you need to do is call out your staff. You are going to need it." She smiles a little. "What can you do with your staff?"

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto shook her head. "Not really? I mean, I still need my staff for everything. Kero-chan says eventually, when I get stronger, I might be able to call on them without using the rod at all. Or bring them into their spirit forms. That... that'd be cool. I'd like to be able to summon flower..." Her cheeks went a little red.

She held it up. "Well... the only thing I can do with it is bring out the cards. Kero-chan says it's kind of like... a magical focus? That it allows me to send out my magic to... trigger the cards."

Naomi Yomada has posed:
Naomi Yomada smiles and shakes her head, "Its also a staff. Just one that is useable to focus magic. So I guess I need to come up with a staff so we can both do this." She smiles a little. Spark closes her eyes and thinks a moment. Then with a quick turn of the dial on her prebrace, "Spark Glittering Staff!" Immediately she reaches upward and a glowing staff, shaped almost like a lightning bolt forms in her hands. It shimmers brightly. "I think this will work!"

She quickly gives the staff a quick spin. "Alright. Call out your staff. We have stuff to do with it. Stuff that doesn't exactly involve calling out cards!"

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto gasped, her eyes sparkling. "T-t-that's so cool Spark-kun!" she squealed, before lifting her wand up with a big grin. "O-okay! Let's do this!" Her wand was out. Had been out.

"What are we going to do? I-I can do lightning magic now! Like you! W-well. Not as cool as yours. But I can do it!"

Naomi Yomada has posed:
Naomi Yomada smiles a little. "Perks of the magical girl type. Our attacks are pretty much, turn the dial and call out an attack." She gets into a fighting stance. "Not magic right now. Sometimes ya just gotta hit someone. SOmetimes you can't use magic. Sometimes you don't know what to use for magic. So, use what you've got. What you've got right now, is your most dependable weapon. YOu've gota staff. Yes its a focus. But its also a weapon. Watch." She quickly twirls her staff and smacks a dead tree with it. She is being careful not to use too much strength lest she take the whole thing down the hard way!

"Now you try. Use your staff as a weapon. Remember you've also got other weapons too. You've got fists and feet. Both can be used to kick butt!"

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto blinked a few times, her mouth falling open. "w-wait, you want me to hit it with... with my wand? but... but..." She stared at her as if she was mad. But then looked down at the weapon. Well, she supposed it was true. And when fighting an axe like that, there was no telling what she might have to do.

She gulped and stood in front of the tree. Her stand was horrible. she completely squared herself, left herself open in half a dozen places, didn't keep any of herself out of reach. She lifted her wand and then... brought it down as hard as she could.

There was a thunk. The wand was unhurt. The tree was mostly unhurt. But Sakura? The wand vibrated, making her eyes go wide as it vibrated and oh my gosh that hurt. That hurt a lot. She dropped her wand. "Ow ow ow ow owieeeee!" She whined, shaking her hands.

Naomi Yomada has posed:
Cure Spark giggles, "Sorry, probably should attack something a little softer. Sometimes its easy to forget when I'm powered up that things can sorta hurt when when you're not powered up." She smiles, "Pick it up, target me." She smiles. She is pretty darn sure that she can withstand a hit or three and even more so that she can block and handle things well enough. "Don't worry. I will be okay. I've nearly been squished by Terribads and ganged up on by kindabads. So it should be alright."

She gets ready to defend herself. She gives a warm smile. "Come at me. I am that girl with the axe. Do to me what you should have done to her. You can do it!"

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto gulped and picked it up. She then looked to her friend, then the wand. "If... if you're sure. She faced her and did it again! Bringing it down on her shoulder! Well, a number of things. One, when she struck, she closed her eyes. Two, she really did square up, not a good fighting stance against ANYTHING that was moving. And three... she hit like a ten year old girl. For obvious reasons. "How, ummm, was that?" at least it had a pointy end.

Naomi Yomada has posed:
Cure Spark quickly react using her staff to block the incoming strikes. She can definitely move, still she is doing this for Sakura. Not herself. "Good! You did alright. Do it again. Think about why you are doing this. That girl was trying to really hurt you with that axe. Don't hold back." She holds her staff at the ready. She doesn't move to attack or anything just letting Sakura do her thing.

She speaks up again, "Just take a deep breath and focus. Whenever you get ready to fight, remember what you are fighting for. When you fight, you aren't just looking for trouble. You aren't doing this because you want to hurt someone. You are doing this because if you don't they are going to hurt you. They are going to hurt those you love. Everyone!" She's glowing just a little as she says that stuff...

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto blinked a few times, slowly nodding. That's right. And Spark was blocking, so she didn't need to worry. But she was right. That was why she did it. The reason she didn't call for help. she hadn't known who this girl was, why she was targetting her. She'd known it would have been smarter to call for help. But... but she hadn't.

She thought about tomoyo. Her friend. Who'd been caught in this. She did have power, she knew that. The bridge was proof of that. But she didn't know how to use it. What she COULD do. She struck again. And again. She pushed in. And kept striking with her hands, swinging the wand. The extra give of Spark made it not hurt her hands as much and Spark might notice something else.

Sakura had no sense of combat experience. She needed direction on her stances and everything. But she had good footwork, all things together. and her grip was excellent. She'd obviously used a wand before. Or rather, her baton. Just not to fight with. Almost perfect balance. Even if Spark tried to push her back, she'd move back rather than stumble. And, if spark didn't go super fast, she could even dodge back. She had agility, a little bit of strength, endurance, good hand eye coordination. A natural born athlete. Probably why she had SURVIVED the clow cards up to this point.

"Can we start meeting up? After school, sometimes? If... if that's okay? To practice? I think you're right..."

Naomi Yomada has posed:
Cure Spark smiles and can feel the force of those strikes. She can feel the impact of each strike made against her magic staff. The vibration of each strike is felt in her hands. She smiles a little and nods. There is pride in her eyes as she sees how quick her strikes are. Even if they aren't very she can feel the difference in the attacks. "Good! GOOD!" She cheers with a huge smile.

She quickly makes a move and brings her staff down on Sakura's, pinning it on the ground. "Good work!" She smiles and lets her up. "That is what this is about. You can do this. Remember whenver you call out your staff. Whenever you call on a card. You are doing it for yourself and those you love." She smiles a little.

Idly she nods, "Absolutely. I would love to train with ya some more. Its fun!" She smiles. "For now, Lets head home."

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto preened under the compliments, then, as they fought, she was starting to feel a bit more comfortable. Slowly, inch by inch, she was making a little bit of headway. she'd need more practice, but she had a training buddy now, yay! And then it got pinned.

She nooded and then got ready to use the float card, but then paused. She lunged forward and hugged her around the neck. "Thank you, Spark-sensei." Ohhh, she was sensei now! "I... I'll be honest. I really wanted to ask someone to teach me these things. But... but I didn't want to be a bother, since I know I'm still kind of... bad at this," she said with a little blush. "So thank you. For helping me." Finally, lets her go and, with the float card, they can head back to shore.
