Cast of Characters: Unmei, Seth Locke

Unmei has posed:
Unmei Tama was sitting down outside the school, a drama book in her lap, mouthing the words again and again as she memorized her lines. It had taken her a while, but she... only had two lines so it would be pretty lame if she didn't know them by now.

'You could always just join a sports club. You'd do well in baseball. Mits and bats.' A voice said in her back.

'No, I'm not,' she mentally muttered back. 'Besides, I don't always... like those feelings. I want to do this on myo wn.'

She was a new girl, just arrived in class a few weeks ago. Hadn't been here long at all.
Seth Locke has posed:
After school, and most people have come out, headed home; only the last few are coming out, one of them being... Well, not from around here, that's for sure; facial features place him as a westerner, the very least. As he reaches the entrance, he takes a deep breath, composing himself as he adjusts his school uniform. He's just been to the infirmary, not feeling very well, and it shows some. Also, he massages his left arm, where he got a shot - it's sorta stinging, right now, but it usually passes.

He takes a moment to look around, and notices a student grabbing hold to a book. Casually, he decides to approch her.

"You know, studying is always better indoors, like a library, or your own home. It's awfully cold, out here."
Unmei has posed:
Unmei Tama jumps a little, startled. Or was it a hop? Maybe a skip? Either way, she was startled and looked up. She then glanced to the school, then back to her book. "Wasn't a lot of space inside and... I wasn't... feeling like going home right now," she mumbled, glancing off to the side.

She stared off to the side, before glancing back to him. "I ummmm... I'm Unmei. Nice to meet you," she said with a small smile, nodding to him. "I'm new." She nervously brushed her hair back, motioning to the seat besides herself in a silent okay for him to sit.
Seth Locke has posed:
Seth Locke backs away reflexively when the new girl jumps/hops/skips. "And I'm Seth Katsumoto Locke, 10th grade student." When she gestures for him to take a seat, he does so. "Well, I'm not quite as new, but I'm sure it still shows, the 'new' in me." He looks at the book, "Are you in the drama club, or meaning to go professional?"
Unmei has posed:
Unmei Tama turned red then. "W-what? Oh! Right! Um, Unmei Tama. Sorry, not used to the whole... giving full name thing. Eh heh." She rubbed the back of her head. "I'm in the drama club. We're having a play and... I'll do in it. Soon. When they get around to it, at least."
Seth Locke has posed:
Seth Locke ahs, and nods. "Well, I hope you'll do well in it." He changes subject, "You said you're new... So, you just arrived to Tokyo, I take it?"
Unmei has posed:
Unmei Tama nodded. "Thank you. It's only a few lines, though. So I probably won't fail." She gave nodded. "Oh, yeah. My new family moved here for work reasons and I've started taking classes just recently. I'll be honest, the systems you have here are so much different than the ones back home. A bit fun, though."
Seth Locke has posed:
The American boy chuckles, "I guess they are different, the systems; it's kinda like, the reason I got to be in the 10th grade, when back in the States I was a senior at school." He sighs, "Two years. And this was with me having a mother teaching me a number of japanese values and customs."

"So, where're you from?", he asks after this tidbit of info about him is offered.
Unmei has posed:
Unmei Tama opened her mouth, her eyes lighting up. "You're from the states? Which one? I'm from--" And paused. "Oh, right! Sorry! I'm from Italy," she said with a smile. Though her japanese accent was oddly almost perfect. "I knew a few people from the states, though. Idaho," she said with a grin.

"Did youm ove here recently too?"
Seth Locke has posed:
Seth Locke nods, "A few months ago, at the request of my father, I came with my sister to Japan. Oddly enough, though, I'm still to meet him face to face." He shrugs, "Must be all the work he's buried in, but I wouldn't know what could be so important he'd miss a family reunion, especially when it was him who called it." He smirks, "I guess I should've seen it coming."

He shakes his head, "Idaho? Sorry, no such luck. New Yorker, somewhat upper class."
Unmei has posed:
Unmei Tama blinked a few times and snorted. "That's just what parents do, isn't it? Make you do what they tell you to do, expect you to drop everything that makes you you, just so you can satisfy their hopes and desires," she muttered darkly, her eyes narrowed on the ground. "I'm sure once your father decides it's a good time for him, he'll call you. Regardless of what you want."

"Oh? New york? You must love pizza then, right? I heard the deep dish there is really good!"
Seth Locke has posed:
"Oh, sure... There's plenty of time for a get-together", he replies. "Just not on his end, it seems."

He nods a little, "I like pizza, yes." He considers, "Deep dish pizza, it really depends on the stores you go to, and the ingredient quality, but yes, it's rather tasty." He adds, "Some shops, though, they like to save up on the ingredients, and all you get is just a regular pizza on a deep dish. Stay away from those shops, they're absolut rip-offs."
Unmei has posed:
Unmei Tama nodded. "That's the way it always is."

She blinked and cocked an eye. "Really? I think I've had food like that. I'm used to eating a lot of fast food, though. So... I'm used to cheap ingredients, I guess. Heh heh."
Seth Locke has posed:
"Well, that's a bad habit you need to get off you, then", Seth remarks. "You should try the pizza shops here in Tokyo. They got their own types, but they got italian-styled pizzas, too. And way better than those rip-offs back in the States I just told you about." He smiles, "And what's best? They even make home deliveries."

He chuckles some, "Well, I guess putting off constantly might just bite him sooner or later...", he mutters under his breath.
Unmei has posed:
Unmei Tama nodded. "I guess. I usually eat at home though. Or cheap stuff. I don't really have a lot of spending money and most of my meals are supplied to me to ensure I don't starve."

'Could always steal~' pin offered mentally.

'No.' She then nodded. "That's just the way parents are. They always think about what's convenient for them, not caring how it affects their children."
Seth Locke has posed:
And then comes the big question, "So, what do your parents do, that got you so worked up about them?"
Unmei has posed:
Unmei Tama blinked and twitched. She took a long, slow breath. "S-sorry. I uhhh... I'm adopted. My parents recently..." She glanced off to the side. "Decided I wasn't worth the trouble. I guess. I'm still a... little... bitter about the whole thing. It wasn't particularly... pleasant for me. Nor was the lead up."
Seth Locke has posed:
Seth Locke frowns at that. "How awful." He closes his eyes for a moment, possibly in comparison to his own problems. "I'm sorry, Unmei-chan."

His cellphone beeps, and he checks for messages. He sighs, "Sorry, I'd like to stay and chat more, but I need to go. Kid sisters and all."
Unmei has posed:
Unmei Tama nodded. "Right. It was nice meeting you, Seth." She may have a good grasp of the accent and language, but she still never used the honorifics. She gave him a small wave. "Perhaps we can meet again later."

She got to her feet. "I should probably head home, too. My new parents might get annoyed if I'm out too late."
