What's in her Stars

Synopsis:	Norie comes over to help the astrology club, but finds that all that's there is Natsumi. They talk a little, and then Natsumi gives Norie a reading. It seems to bother Norie...

Natsumi Matsumoto has posed:
School has ended, but that doesn't mean the building has become hollow and lifeless. No, it simply means that it's become far quieter as clubs gather together to meet, and some poor unfortunate souls are forced to come for extended study time or helping the teacher clean the classroom.

Natsumi had come by to use the little nook assigned to her astrology club for a meeting, and was now the last one there. She usually was though, because she kept some of her astrology books at school and liked to stay after to read them for a little bit. Such time was past now, and she was standing outside the door of the nook, locking it up.

Norie Okana has posed:
"What!?" said Norie Okana to the teacher, earlier today. "You're going to help one of the clubs today, because it isn't healthy to be so isolated." the teacher said. "---but Sensei..!"

It was no use, she didn't have a choice. She looked so /upset/. She walked along the club rooms and picked the Astrology Club. Why?

Because it was occult-like. She'd taken an intrest in such things recently and perhaps she might find some sort of answers here. She doubted it. She'd still try.

She opened the door and stepped in. "Hello?" she calls out. "My homeroom teacher says I need to help with clubs tonight." she says a little dourly. "So I'm helping here." she says softly.

She smooths out her shirt, softly. She isn't a wearing a school uniform. Not this late in the day. Her usual floral shirt and red skirt--- short black hair and blue eyes.

Just regular old Norie.

Natsumi skipped down the hall from the nook, coincidentally just a closet a hall over from the actual club room, headed for the club room proper. She was a bit surprised to see the door standing open. She started to step-lightly towards the room... Jessica had went home early today, and Natsumi was sure she'd left the door closed.

Once she got to the door, she poked her head in and blinked at Norie for a moment. "Um... Hello? Are you here to join the Astrology club?". She figured this was the only reason anyone would remotely come over to this side of the school, except to maybe poke fun at the members of the club. Not that there were that many to make fun of.

Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana softly blinks. "Not...really?" she says softly. "I'm sorry, like I said, the teacher sent me to help with clubs tonight." she says. "I chose this club to help out with." she says softly.

"Astrology... huh?" she asks softly.

"What exactly do you talk about? Do you do readings...?" she asks softly as she places her hands against the front of her skirt softly. Perhaps feeling out of place.

Very out of place.

Ugh.

Why was talking to people so hard now...? "Um.. I mean. Do you.. just talk.. about things or.. do you.. have a telescope--wait.. no that's... Astronomy. That's.. a different thing. Right. Um.."

Whell now she's just nervous stammering!

Natsumi Matsumoto has posed:
Natsumi's buttons for social mode have been pressed. The words astrology, readings, telescope, and astronomy have all been said and now... "Well, actually I do have a telescope that I use for astrology readings.". She trudges into the room, smiling. "I like to do it based on the position of the stars, like they do in the West, you know? It's absolutely fascinating to me how detailed they can get.".

She sets her slightly emptier bag on a chair against the back wall and turns to Norie, looking her over with thinly veiled consideration. "You can help by finding a seat, there really isn't much to do at the moment. I've just put up most of the club stuff myself since nobody really showed up today but myself. We talk and do readings on each other. My friend Jessica, she's from America, and she does tarot and hand readings that she learned in this place called Lousy Anna. Personally, I don't think Anna was very lousy if she could do all that, you know?".

Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana blinks, 'Lousy Anna'? She purses her lips, she isn't making any connections to such a place in her head. Maybe it's the name of a Tarot Card reading school? Do they really have schools like that in America? She just bought a Tarot set at the conbenie when she looked into that to see if it could tell her anything about her condition.

You know you're desperate when you're searching silly cards for answers. She is desperate.

Well she's past desperate really. She still frowns a bit. But she frowns at everything. It doesn't seem pointed at Natsumi.

"My name is Norie Okana." she says softly. She walks over to a chair and has a soft seat. "I'm afraid I don't follow Astrology much. How does it work?" she asks softly to Natsumi. "What can you learn from it?" she asks.

Natsumi Matsumoto has posed:
Natsumi pulled up a chair herself and settled in it. "I'm Natsumi Matsumoto, but my friends call me Natsu. I'm the president of the astrology club.". She smiled a little bit, adjusting herself better on the wooden chair.

The thought of talking about astrology seemed to be making her up more and more, the original shyness gone like the wind.

"Well. There's all sorts of astrology. Personally I specialise in the star signs, despite them being a Western thing. Mine depends on the position of the planets and the stars in relation to the earth. It was sort of a logical leap since my mom is an astronomer and I'm into astronomy too, you know?". She smoothed out her skirt, having changed into a simple white blouse with bell-sleeves and a little ruby red skirt shortly after classes ended. "Well, they can answer questions in the case of like tarot cards. But a lot of astrology is sort of like a guide-line, or a mapping of the pathes. Like, it can tell you what to expect from your day. It's up to debate how accurate it really is though.".

Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana nods. "Natsu-san, then." she says softly. Since that seems to be the prefered name she wants, at least the one that she'd be more happy with. Wouldn't it be rude to use her full name after that?

Still, she talks.

"Just a day?" she asks softly. She purses her lips. "How about a month...or a year?" she asks curiously as she head tilts.

"Can you do me..?" she asks softly, as she places her hands onto her lap. She seems to be intrested. That's probably more than more passerbys have intrest in. Right?

"Tarot really didn't help me figure things out." she says softly.

Really. If it was eight or nine months ago, Norie would had called this a load of baloney. Except now she's also an actual Vampire and there's lots of other crazy things she'd had called 'baloney' back then too.

Natsumi Matsumoto has posed:
Natsumi Matsumoto chews her lip. "You can do both of those, a month and a year too. I could do you but you'd have to tell me your birthday, just the month and the day. That's how you find out what your star sign is.".

She lifts her wrist, letting the sleeve fall down to reveal a silver charm bracelet before lifting up the larger charm on it. "This is my sign, the Crab, or Cancer. My birthday is July twelfth.".

Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana purses her lips and thinks. "October 13th, 2004." she says softly. She gently closes her eyes. "...let's try. A month...? for now." she says softly as she narrows her eyes. Is this that easy? She's willing to belive, if it'll provide guidance for her.

Allow her to prepare.

Or is everything already written in the stars already? She's starting to feel uncomfortable with her inner thoughts and it shows, she's fidgeting.

"Can you do that for me..."

Then a pause. "Please?" she asks softly.

Natsumi pursed her lips, bringing Norie's sign instantly to mind. "That'd be Libra then.". She started digging around in her pocket, eventually pulling out a ratty notepad and flicking through it to a page that isn't extremely messed up. "Now to see what the stars are doing...".

She flicks her eyes around the scrap of paper, barely legible to anyone but herself for several moments before looking up at Norie.

"Did you feel a little disheartened on the first and second? Disappointed that things aren't working out the way you planned? That's because it's hard to get over an unfulfilled wish, but don't lose hope just yet. A new flirtation should have took mind off the heavy stuff on the third and fourth, and wow - the new person is really amazing! Sometimes the very best things in life happen when you aren't expecting them. There was a lot going on underneath the surface on the ninth and tenth, but you skimmed along the top of the water just fine. So what you need to figure out is whether or not you need to stop and take a closer look, or are you cool with not knowing the teeny tiny details? There are lots of people willing to help you out with a great idea on the fifteenth and sixteenth, but you might not want to mix business with close relationships. Trying to find a loan via a crowdfunding site is probably a better solution than asking parents or friends for cash. You rationalize things easily on the thirtieth, but the heart still wants what it wants. Very few people can have their cake and it eat too. How full is your plate?".

Natsumi coughs a little. "That probably makes like no sense, and isn't right at all. It's April, because I haven't mapped for May yet, so most of the stuff might have already happened or even just not happened.".

Norie Okana listens to this...

Did she feel disheartend at the begining of the month? Yes... yes she did. That's nearly when that girl hit her with that thing---- that raked her being off--- that instilled more horror into her than she wanted.

A flirtation? W..would she even know if someone was flirting with her...? It's--- it's not something she's /felt/ before. The only reason she knows how to interact with people is because she remembers how things feel. How can you 'feel' something you've never felt before....

How... how would she even know if she loved someone...? Oh god.. she'd... she'd never really bothered with pretty faces. She was too involved with her friends... how would she know?

Her eyes go very wide. Panic? A little bit...

She tries to loose herself into the rest of the details... don't mix bussiness and close relationships...

Riventon...? The Bussiness... Ayana.. the personal?

Rationalize things. She'd be doing that a lot.. rationalizing her condition to herself. But it'd been the only thing keeping her focusued.

A lot doesn't match up here. But. A lot of it does. Is it 'real'? Is she just finding the patterns? Or... or is it correct?

She doesn't know anymore. She pushes her teeth together and there's a silence.

"Thank you. Would you be able to do next months for me in the future?" she asks softly as she takes a bated breath. It's clear she's keeping composed by force.

Natsumi Matsumoto has posed:
Natsumi nodded a little bit, glancing at her watch. "I can do them, it's best to get them in the first week of the month. Does that work for you?". She seemed to be peering closely at her watch, her mouth twisting into a small frown.

Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana suddenly stands up. She more darts up-- "Y--yes that works good!" she says softly. She dusts herself off. "Ah- I should go it's getting late! Um... I'll make sure you mention you by name to my teacher on Monday." she says softly.

"So my teacher can mark me as coming her! As she said!" a little panicy, yes.

"T--thank you, for um. Reading!" she says with a best smile as she can. That smile seems forced a little wrong, but she still does it. She quickly turns and drops it. It feels bad.

"B--bye!" she says softly. She begins to leave, unless someone stops her.

She'll leave under her own power.

Natsumi rises up and grips her bag. "Do you want someone to walk with? I just need to lock-up the classroom, and it gets kinda scary in the halls on the way out. I usually walk with my best-friend, but she left early today.".

Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana sort of pauses mid walk out and she frowns...

"Sure..." she says softly. Not wanting to be rude. "Come on." she says softly. She gently waits for Natsumi to gather her stuff. She waits.. when she catches up... she continues on her way!

Natsumi Matsumoto has posed:
Natsumi rushes along, gathering her stuff and locking the clubroom before trotting quickly to keep up with Norie. "So, what sort of stuff do you like? I guess my interests are pretty obvious.".

Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana sort of pauses and takes a soft series of breathes. She hates these questions. They're terrible. They're terrible because she dismantled large portions of her life because she's a danger to people. To her friends.

She frowns and crosses her arms as she bites her lip.

"Dancing... but not so much anymore." she says softly. "...Used to be in the club. Not anymore, either." she says.

Natsumi Matsumoto has posed:
Natsumi isn't the sort to pry, so she just nods as they stop right in front of the side-doors out of the school. "Well.... Maybe you'll get to dance again sometime soon. I know I'd lose my mind if I couldn't do what I enjoy.".

She smiles weakly at Norie before placing her hand against the door and pushing. "See you again soon, right?".

Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana gets to the doors and watches Natsumi leave. She softly nods. "Maybe..." she says disheartendly.

"Yeah... see you soon. For the reading. First week of next month...!" she says with a soft series of slow nods.
