Cast of Characters: Norie Okana, Jiaying Maki

Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana, in better days, would had been here with her two friends, excitedly discussing things such as dance club, going to see a movie, holding a sleepover- really countless fun things girls her age would do. Those days are over. Even if she could go apologize to her friends for the odd and sudden behavior when she became this.... thing. She doesn't think she'd ever really connect with them again like that. Things didn't excite her. Or make her happy. Or anything really.

BUT TODAY she's here alone, sitting in a booth in the middle of the side row in Frozen Beach Ice Cream. Sitting in front of her is a bowl of rainbow sherbet that's been partially consumed and she's sort of tapping the top of the uppermost scoop with her spoon, causing an indentation to form. She scrunches her nose a little as she seems kind of lost. She occasionally glances at the bangle around her left wrist, which rests against the table as she purses her lips with a sigh.

Why was she even here. This was stupid. All she's remembering is stupid things and bad things.

To finish off the oddity of this all, there's a single red rose sitting just beyond the bowl of sherbet. It seems perfectly ordinary. She seems to occasionally glance at it- and think deep in thought.

She seems kind of lonely, overall, it seems. Sitting alone , eating sherbet alone. Alone.
Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki is actually somewhat lost, annoyed and hungry. Figuring to fix both issues in one go, she makes her way into the ice cream shop. After checking into the windows to make sure she's not reading it wrong, which is pleasing on more than one level. Slipping inside, she hesitates to make sure she remembered her money and sort of fidgets about until she finds it in her bag. Holding that in her hand, she steps towards the line, bobbing from foot to foot in anticipation.

The grouchy one isn't immediately noticed, what with the prospect of bad for you sugary goodness. Though as she waits for her turn, her curiousity does manage to get her to look around all distracted-like. Beaches, palm trees, gaudy shirts and a gloomy girl with a rose. The combination being what really gets her wondering, luckily to herself for now.

After ordering (And confirming there's no chocolate) she makes her way over to sit in the seat closest to the other girl. Leaning back, taking a bite of her ice cream and considering quietly, she decides to maybe take a guess that she wasn't given the rose and asks curiously, hoping she didn't mix up words again, "Who are you giving that to?" before realizing it's probably blunt. And she didn't address the other girl before asking. She scowls briefly and quickly adds, "Sorry, just curious and... maybe wanting to help?" While forgetting that she's kind of being nosy and that's rude anyway.
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana is spoken to, she looks up and blinks once. Her expression is best described as neutral, she doesn't seem agitated right now. She sticks the spoon into the ice cream and then pinches the stem of the rose and drags it closer to her. Is she getting it out of the way--- is it so Jiaying can sit across from her? Or is she being possessive of the rose? It's hard to tell.

Oh, she's also, going to talk. Gloomy is totally a word that describes Norie in many ways. "There's a legend that says- that- if you give the rose to someone you like, they'll fall in love with you in turn. I'm going to test it." she says matter of factly.

She doesn't go onto why. Maybe it's private, or maybe Jiaying will need to ask why.

She looks up and down Jiaying with her eyes-- not moving her head as she purses her lips. "I don't recognize the uniform. Are you from around here?" she asks. She folds her hands , one over the other in front of her.

She head tilts.

"My name is Norie Okana. What is yours?" she asks.
Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki pokes a spoon into her own ice cream and swirls it a few times, somewhat amusing herself before taking a bite proper. Turning in her seat to face Norie, she smiles cheerily and says, "There's a lot of legends about love, a lot of them are..." she pauses, fingers tapping on her chair before she shrugs and laughs, "I find them amusing!" and relevant, not that she says that. Scooping up her bowl and setting it down at the other table, figuring if they're going to chat, to do it right!

Resting her chin on her hand, other hand playing with the spoon for a moment she asks, "There are shrines-" she hesitates, double checking her memory, then nods and continues, "Shrines for the same kind of stories right? With those little charms?" she holds her fingers apart about the size of what she assumes a charm would be.

At the question for her uniform, she looks down, tugs at the vest a bit and nods, "I am new here! My dad's been too busy to get the local uniform and I get distracted easily, I was actually out today to pick it up, but you know. Ice cream." At the offered name, she smiles happily and offers a quick bob of her head, "I'm Jiaying Maki. Nice to meet'cha Okana~"
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana listens and head tilts. "I know there's lots of signs not to pick the roses where this came from. I picked three anyways." because she was there while she was talking to Shiniko, about cursing people- and before Shiniko could potentially curse the lot of the roses. (She chose not to, luckily.).

She purses her lips.

"Yes, there's Shrines. The local one is Hikawa Shrine in Pikarigaoka." she says softly. "They do that sort of thing. I...." find them abohrennt and the priestesses and mikos there can hurt me plently, she thinks. "...find them not very pleasent to visit." she says. "Boring- but maybe there's value to other people in it. Not that I don't belive such things." she says softly.

"How about you? Do you belive those kind of things?" she asks, head tilting.

"Jiaying. That's Chinese. Isn't it?" she asks softly. She purses her lips in thought. "What brings you to Tokyo to live?" she asks. "I'm assuming you moved here, due to needing the new uniform." she says.
Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki tilts her head at that admission and says, "You just lead with that huh? Not.. that I'm not guilty of taking things" usually without thought mind. Mind you, she usually thinks it's for a good reason and that she's helping someone else. Always careful not to get caught though, because she doesn't see eye to eye all the time and not just because she's short. Still, the question gets a curious look from her, then she shrugs and says cheerily, "Never tried, especially not the local brand of them. Maybe?"

She fishes out a small notebook to write the name of the shrine, her notes a somewhat confusing mix of simplified and Japanese that probably isn't helping her bouts with confusion. She's curious to visit the shrines, they're something neat and she's hoping there's not-so-normal things about them.

With a quick nod she says, "Taiwanese, yes. My father wanted to return home, so here we are! I'm enjoying the excuses to see new places and meet new people." And dodge people that recognize her as an occasional source of trouble.
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana purses her lips. "If they didn't want me to take the roses, they could had worked harder. I was able to take them, so I deserve them." she says matter of factly. This seems to be said coldly, but in a stern manner that suggests this is just the way the world works to her. "I wanted them to test that legend." she says.

Because she never got to feel what love feels like before all these positive emotions were muted for her. Part of her is anxious about it, really- though she doesn't show it.

"I used to use them." she says. "I dunno if they worked or not. I haven't been this year." she says matter of factly.

She head tilts. "Ah-- Taiwan. Tokyo is a big city, you'll find a lot here. Be careful of a boy named 'Kukai Souma', he's a big lying jerk. He'll tell you things and they're not true." she insists.
Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki pokes idly at her ice cream, sneaking in bites of sugary goodness as she listens. At the blunt manner, she laughs and says, "I would think they'd notice someone with.." she frowns and seems to be trying to remember a word, then shrugs and says, "Shears, those things" She makes a scissor cutting motion with her fingers before continuing on, "I would've thought they'd notice someone picking roses." Though as she says that, she realizes she didn't actually look at the stems too closely. She doesn't now either.

"Maybe they do, maybe it's all in your head or maybe it depends on who's doing them eh?" She's never had luck with those kind of charms, but she never really was taught anything like that either. The comment about the boy gets a curious look from her and she asks after it, "How's he a lying jerk?" Stopping shy of noting that he seemed friendly enough, not that she had talked to him for too long.
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana frowns. 'He lied to me that he could make me normal again and not a vampire.' isn't exactly something you can say to someone openly. THERE is the other thing though. "He hurt my friend badly with his philandering ways." she insists. That IS something she can say. She purses her lips. "I didn't use shears." she insists.

That looks like a clean enough snap, if Jiaying WERE to look. But she doesn't. She head tilts. "I belive they work." she has to belive they work. She bought a necklace and it cursed her into a vampire. 'Lucky Charms' working are like the least unlikely thing to ever happen after that. "I belive things happen we can't explain." she says. "-but it probably depends what's wanted too." she says. "I don't think anyone's become king of the world by wishing for it on some sort of charm." she insists.
Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki would probably have been fascinated to hear the first part, what with her whole wanting to meet all sorts of spooky things. Mind you, she doesn't mention that she's afraid to try chocolate because she's not sure if she's allergic to it because of her ancestory, so they're even. All said though, she looks confused at the word philandering and after bouncing it around internally for a few moments, asks, "What does that mean?" Still, she gets the rest of the bit and scowls briefly, wondering what he could have done.

"You believe they work across the board, or just most of them? I mean, I'm sure there are some that work, they've lingered this long after all right?" And she totally has one sitting at home to confirm it. Still, she's curious now and leans forward to ask curiously, "What kinda charms have you had work? Were they the paper kind?" Maybe she can learn something new!

A few beats pass, then she suddenly asks, "Hey wait, you had three you said, what happened to the others? Did you give them out already?"
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana speaks. "It means he dated countless girls and never made this fact known, apparently hurting plenty of people in the process." she insists. "Including two of my friends." she says matter of factly. She frowns a bit. "I'm going to make him pay." she also insists cooly.

Well, that was foreboding at all.

She purses her lips. "There's all sorts of charms, but you're better off asking the Mikos at Hikawa, honestly." she says softly. "I haven't been in a while, but the paper ones were what I used. I used to ace most tests." when she cared about them. "Even though I should had failed outright. So maybe things like that." she says softly.

"But even if they did work, I would not abuse them. I did try to study." she insists. "So maybe it was my hard work, too." she mutters.

"Oh..." she says. "I have them someplace safe. I'm going to try one at a time." she says. "I dunno who I'm going to give the first one to..." mainly because it's hard to determine if she's attracted to someone in her mental state. She wonders if she can even love someone herself! She may just give one willy nilly and see what happens.

That won't start with Jiaying though. She slides the rose more over to her side. An unsaid 'don't take it. Get your own.'

Meanwhile her sherbet has slowly begun melting. She hasn't touched it much since she started talking. Not like she needs to eat anyways. She just came here to think and to try to make herself feel better.

"Are you intrested in the occult?" she asks curiously. "You seem to be intrested in such things, about charms and such." she says softly. Yes a change of subject from magical love roses.
Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki drums her fingers on the table, her ice cream pretty much finished off. Pushing it to the side, she notes the treatment with the rose, looks genuinely confused and shrugs it off mentally as her maybe thinking she'd try to swipe it. She shifts in her seat, about to say something, then realizes it's probably all in her head and instead notes, "I'll have to visit the shrine. I'm kind of curious to see what happens when I go." She leaves that as is, deciding to let it get taken however.

"I study a lot, had to. School was very strict and I had all sorts of extracurricular lessons. I couldn't fall behind in either you know?" Crossing her arms, she settles in to get comfortable, ignoring that voice in her head that tells her she can get away with another bowl.

"The occult is.. fascinating. So many stories and it's so hard to prove any of them, I love looking for haunted houses and weird stories. The spookier the better!" She offers the hint of a smile and adds, "I haven't really seen anything real though." Lying on that subject just so it doesn't bring up akward follow up questions.
Norie Okana has posed:
Cling! The spoon in the sherbet moves freely in melted mess and hits the side of her bowl. She doesn't respond to this. Her eyes go look at it a moment before they peek back up at Jiaying. "School happens. I don't like it anymore. But I need to attend." she says. She purses her lips as she places her hands back onto the table, one over the other.

"I've been studying vampires. Do you know anything about vampires?" she asks, seeming to want to drill Jiaying on the subject now.

"Specfically, about curing them?" she asks. There it is. The first glimmer of any emotion she's had this entire discussion besides her neutral tone, it sounds a little hopefully, a little sad all at once, but it's there.

As quickly as it comes, it seems to get extinguished back into that neutral tone.

"I find the subject facsinating, is all." she says matter of factly, as if she had to justify herself on asking such a question.
Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki taps her foot quietly under the able as she hears the question. She holds her arms out when vampires are mentioned and she mimics bouncing in her seat briefly and asks, "Do you mean like jiangshi or do you mean more uh.. western?" She does note quietly the actual emotion put into it and after looking around quietly to make sure she's not being pranked says honestly, "I don't know too much about them. I me-remember hearing stories about those kind of things, the hopping kind, but never any western style. They sunburn in the light right?" Close enough.

The follow up question is one she spends a few moments running around in her head, wondering how much to say or what to say even. Finally she shrugs and says simply, "I don't know how of curing vampires, but it would be neat to look into. What do you mean cure though? Like uh... not eatin-drinking blood or do you mean not stealing chi?"
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana listens intently as she purses her lips. She's done research into all sorts of vampires. She's familar with the term jiangshi. She purses her lips. What kind of vampire is she? Lacrima knows spanish. Spanish vampire? No- she'd done research into that and she isn't like that either. She has multiple teeth and isn't an old hag. Maybe she's something different. She has to think this over. ".....Not stealing chi." she says. Yeah. That's about right. She drains energy to live and remain coherent. That'd be the closest to that.

She's familar with western types. She's close to that visually- but she can walk in the sun. It doesn't bother her. She tried eating all the garlic before and all she got was a stomach full of fire and burning of garlic. No one's tried to stab her in the heart yet, but she wonders if that'd work. It's not like she has physical being for real.

She purses her lips a little again. She hasn't tried things like tags on her head yet. She bet's it'd hurt or make her immobile. Of course, that's why she stays away from the shrines.
Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki knows the immobilizing one! That isn't said though since.. this is all hypothetical right? Besides she's only tried that once and she had help and... before her mind wanders too far off track she looks at the other girl and asks, "What's not? The vampire?" She actually sounds excited herself this time, about the same level as usual, but there's something about her body language, how she leans forward in her seat, arms on the table that hints at the real level.

She glances around once more, still not sure if she's being pranked and if so, how she could... well she'll have her fun if that's the case. Still, back on topic she asks with honest curiousity, "Do you know a vampire? I haven't heard any weird stories like.. holes in necks or anything, but I mean, I don't know all the neat places for ghost hunters and the like."
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana head tilts. "As in. Curing a vampire to not drain 'chi'." she says. Chi... Human Energy. Energy. She doesn't know what to call it. "That's what I'm intrested in." she insists matter of factly.

Does she know a vampire? She narrows her eyes at Jiaying, a change again, from that usual neutral expression, but they quickly unnarrow.

If she even told her the truth, would she belive her even? Ugh of course she would. People like this just belive things.

So she gives the most confusing answer ever. "Maybe. Why?" she asks as she head tilts.

It's probably a hilarous change from the 'No' Jiaying might had been expecting.
Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki doesn't know a vampire personally! She totally knows other dead things though, she likes ghosts after all! Still, she listens to Norie try to describe what the vampire eats. The answer is confusing and she asks, "Human.. energy? Like heat? Or do they shrivel up or... is it all like, magic?" She scowls and tries to run myths around in her head, that sort of does sound like the hopping sort right? Or was she confusing them for something else.

Still, she would believe the other girl, but she's got a pretty good reason for doing so! Still, the answer she gets is legitimately surprising, mostly because she's not sure if she's just being teased now. Still, on the off chance it's true, "Are they.. huh. Are they like the plastic fang wearing weirdos or do you mean an actual vampire maybe? Because that's neat and maybe dangerous, but mostly neat."
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana purses her lips. "Drain energy. They tend to get tired and collapse and sleep for a long bit." she says matter of factly. "They're fine and wake up after." she insists. "Tired, but fine." she says matter of factly, that neutral tone.

"...weirdos..." she says with a sudden sharp strike, disdain, hate--- this comes more naturally to her tone and expression than the earlier small stint of hopefulness. She purses her lips.

"I'm a vampire." she says plainly. "That's what I come closest to, anyways." she insists. "I drain energy or I become mindless and feral." she says.

She waits to see Jiaying's reaction to this as Norie doesn't provide evidence one way or another of this. She narrows her eyes a bit. "I am /not a weirdo/." she says more sternly.

Seems she's taken some sort of offense to this statement.
Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki watches Norie curiously as she talks about what happens, especially the insistence that they're alright after. Oddly serious about that detail, kind of making the fox actually consider the ideas. Still, the sudden tonal shift gets her attention and she snaps out of her reverie. "Right, the kind that want to dress up." She holds up her index fingers and puts them over her ears and says, "You get them dressing up like they've got animal ears, or like cartoon characters sometimes too." She might mutter something about too many of them putting fox ears on and being weird, but that lapsed into Chinese.

The declaration is met with.. a decent poker face from the girl, or at least as good as she's going to get for now. She'll eventually learn the flat face thing. Or a proper mask. She considers quietly, watching the girl to crack up in laughter or something else. Then she gets a curious look and she asks, "Are you really? I almost want to throw rice on the table to see if that's true.. the rice thing not the statement."

She pulls her bag onto her lap and begins picking through it, curious to find something as she asks, "If you really are, can you sense others? Like... from distances? Scent or anything?" Hey, if she's being honest, she gets to ask neat questions. If it's not, she's having fun. Either way.
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana softly frowns a bit as she scowls now. "Rice? That won't work. I've tried lots of everything trying to 'fix' myself." she says. "I was foolish. None of that would've worked." she says as she frumps down into the both more properly.

"Sense others? Who? Other Vampires? I've never met another one." she says. "I can sense small sources of magic but they need to be very active and nearby. I'm not geared towards hunting those with magic, I'm geared towards hunting humans who'd have good energy levels." she insists.

She doesn't seem to mind talking about this openly. She finds people don't care. Or they think they're talking about a video game.

'People' are stupid, Norie finds, often.

"What are you looking for?" she asks matter of factly.
Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki is totally guilty of using the excuse of costume to go without disguises, but she's been chased by dogs and the odd cat and that gets old fast. She raises an eyebrow and says, "It's not a cure. It's supposed to be a way to stop a vampire because they have to count each grain of rice." She sits up and leans from side to side, one gets the sense she's trying to see Norie's neck and asks, "So how did it happen? Like.. did a figure of mist bang on your window and ask to be let in or.." She scowls and rubs her nose, that Chinese returning briefly.

She sighs and rests her chin on both hands now. "So I couldn't use you to ghost hunt or look for strange monsters and creatures in human form? That.. sounds wrong. I couldn't get your help in finding those things huh?" She sounds actually hopeful, like she loves the idea of it all.
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana blinks. What is Jiaying looking for? She doesn't have any neck injuries. She purses her lips. "What? No." she says. "I bought an antique necklace from a shop. It did this to me." she says with a frown. "I didn't ask for this in any way! Do you think I'd do such a thing!?" she snaps.

Well she's a snippy one. Though, she is wearing an odd red teardrop necklace. She head tilts.

"I'm not talking about that anymore." she insists, crossing her arms.

She hrmphs. "You may be better off talking to a Kitsune or a Werewolf I know." she says matter of factly. "They might be able to help you better. I'm afraid I don't sense 'ghosts' or things like that easily. Maybe I can learn though." she says.

"I'm trying to learn new things." she says frankly.
Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki raises an eyebrow at that and asks, "Wait so you know those things too?" She resists the urge to ask if Norie's those things as well. She's not that dense. Anymore. Still, she taps her foot on the ground, a tic as she thinks, properly thinks. She's already seen another weirder... thing. Something about heart eggs. Maybe Japan's a lot weirder than her home had been. "So you don't sense anything from me? Neat!" She sounds.. oddly happy about that statement.

Still, after a moment she sighs and says, "Sorry if I've been rude." Her bag is set to the side for now, her idea abandoned. "What do you want to learn? I'm the same way."
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana shakes her head. "If you 'have magic' it'd need to be 'very active' for it to get my attention." she says matter of factly again as she frowns. "I know of a few things. I've fought a few things." she says matter of factly. "There's those who object to my feeding harshly. There was a time I objected to feeding and I was wild eyed and filled with panic most of the time. I chose to give in instead. It's been better for me." she says. "But it doesn't make me many friends." she insists.

She purses her lips. "I don't like being called weirdo. I get that enough in school. I used to be much different, before all this. I ended up driving away all my friends I had." she almost scowls a little at this.

"I've seen things called Heart Eggs. A werewolf. A kitsune. There's mages." she says. "One's trying to teach me to channel my dark energy better, teach me how to utilize it beyond what I can already do." she says. "I trust him. He understands me, understands I'm not broken or need to be fixed." she says that scowl turning into a more demure frown.

"I guess it would be neat, if there was a way to fix me, but I know it's not possible. It still doesn't hurt to ask, does it?" she asks softly. "When you meet someone new who might know?" she wonders.
Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki holds a finger up and says, "You want to be cured, but you want to embrace that you're not broken." She leans forward, getting a better look at the girl, less a curious look and more about analyzing her almost. Rubbing her chin quietly, she shakes her head and says, "I"m not calling you the weirdo. I've known some weird sorts and I've been the weird sort because.. I'm lazy sometimes." Well at least she's honest-ish.

Still, she crosses her arms and says, "I've seen the first one, apparently I'm not allowed to have one even after he insisted it was all children. I think I ate it." She still doesn't say what she is, it's more fun to see if it's figured out. Still, she offers a genuine smile and says, "I like the... less friendly uh, supernatural? You'd be surprised what kinda things are misera-... huh. Right. I didn't like that stories as a little girl ended with defeated or punished monsters and not.. more. Or less?"
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana purses her lips. "There's lots of other unfriendly supernatural types here. Some are intelligent. Some will attack you regardless. Some don't care as long as you don't get in thier way. I know a Shadow Witch. She's like that-- she's not exactly talkative but she doesn't like it when others get in her way." she insists. "She curses people who deserve it. Bad people." she insists.

She doesn't seem to make a guess at what Jiaying is. Maybe she doesn't care.

"My Heart's Egg was snuffed out when I became this thing." she insists. "But lots of things were 'snuffed out' when I became this thing." she frowns.

"I used to enjoy dancing but that was taken from me too." she says.

She leans forward. "So you hunt things." she says matter of factly. "Is that it?" she asks. "--and you hate when bad things get punished?" she asks confusedly.
Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki considers things quietly, then says, "I don't like growing up and all of the stories paint some distant cousin as a bad guy. It's not fair. Not everything that mythology thinks are bad are going to be bad. So! I don't like seeing those things beaten up or sealed away or worse just because someone decided they shouldn't give them a cahnce." She claps her hands together lightly and grins, "I probably never had one according to him, but I still like the idea that I ate it. I mean I chewed on furniture and spell tags occasionally after all."

Though she frowns briefly at the note of things that have been lost. "Are they truly lost, or just muffled? I mean.. it's the same thing ultimately, but maybe there's a way to help even if it's not a cure? I mean I muffle all of my-.. everything."
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana purses her lips. "Sometimes those stories exist for a reason." she says matter of factly. She frowns. "You sound like the countless others who 'feel bad' for me, honestly." she says. She head tilts. "You chewed on furniture?" she asks. "Does that have to do with whatever you are?" she asks.

She frowns. "I don't know. You're better off asking Kukai Souma about that." she frowns.

"Another reason he's a liar is because he promised I could be fixed and he'd have the way. He lies. He's worthless." she says.

"I think my kitsune friend is right. Boys are terrible." she hrmphs!
Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki sighs quietly and rubs the bridge of her nose as she listens, then says, "You'd think that, but if you don't give everything a chance, you'll never know for sure." She carefully leans forward and takes her bowl and adds, "I think it's only fair. And yes, I did apparently.. not that I remember." She stands up, stretching and shifting from foot to foot.

She pulls out a spare piece of paper and writes a number down on it and offers it to Norie while saying, "I can't promise I can fix it, but I want to help. I need to go for today though. Give me a call when you get a chance maybe and I can try to do more."
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana looks at the paper and scrunches her nose. She frowns. Another one who wants to help. She sighs and takes the paper hesitantly and pockets it into the pocket on her shirt's breast pocket. "Thank you, Jiaying-san." she says softly.

"I should go." she says softly as she takes her bowl of not finished, now liquid sherbet and walks it over the trash can and throws it out.

Then she gives a final glance as she purses her lips, eyes tracing Jiaying up and down, before she leaves without too much other fanfare.
