Cast of Characters: Norie Okana, Natsumi Matsumoto

Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana was out-- her disguise was down-- revealing that purple long hair, those eyes the pale skin that seems off for the time of year-- those slightly pointed canines. There was no reason to keep it up in a setting like the park and waste energy.

She's sitting under a tree, knees up to her chest as she stares hard at the ground. In the ground, a big ol' beetle crawls in front of her across her path. She seems to be staring at it intently, like she's waiting for it to burst into flames from her hard stare.

This doesn't happen of course. She seems lost in gentle thought, keeping to herself, a decidely neutral expression on her face. She's easily spotted at least. Not hiding in a tree.
Natsumi Matsumoto has posed:
Natsumi Matsumoto stepped lightly up behind her friend, tapping her ever so gently on the shoulder and briefly following her line of sight. She gave a low giggle, seeing the beetle that Norie was so attentively watching watching.

Of course, Natsumi hadn't actually come to see Norie or even knew Norie was there. No, she'd come for something critically important to her life. She'd come to lay in the grass and watch the stars appear as the evening sun vanished over the horizon. Now she saw a chance....
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana huhs as she's rousted from her reverie of beetle watching. It's not quite a jump, it's something more demure, her head twitching a bit upwards as she looks to her side. Her expression change from neutral to mildly annoyed, to neutral again when she focuses her eyes on Natsumi. "Hello Natsumi-san. How are you?" she asks softly.

She looks back to tbe beetle. "I'm just watching this bug." she says softly. "I dunno why. But it seems to be struggling in the grass, don't you think...?" she asks as she watches the beetle.

"..like it's used to flatter surfaces..." she says softly.
Natsumi Matsumoto has posed:
Natsumi Matsumoto crouched down beside Norie and nodded as she looked towards the bug. "I'm okay. How about you, Norie-san? It's safer for him here though, because if he was on the sidewalk the people would step on him.".

She looked back up at Norie, resting an elbow on her knee and cupping her chin in her hand. "Just came to the park to watch beetles then, Norie-san?".
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana thinks. "I come to the park because many of those I know consider it neutral ground. No one attacks me here if I don't feed here. So I come to think and no one comes to bother me I I keep off the main path and I can keep my disguise down here because no one looks for 'Norie Okana' here." she says softly.

She looks up from the beetle. "But. If it can't make it to where it's going..." she says. "Does it deserve to remain stuck? Does it deserve to get stepped on?" she asks. "Is it weak so it deserves whatever happens to it because it isn't used to the grass?..." she asks quietly.

She bites her lip a bit, no breath. It's like Norie really breathes. She just pretends to-- and some human ticks still remain-- but not the long esasperated sigh that should fill the void of quiet she bleeds a moment.

"Why are you here tonight, Natsumi-san. You're certainly not looking for me." she says matter of factly.
Natsumi Matsumoto has posed:
Natsumi Matsumoto replies automatically to the question asked of her. "Habit. I've come to lay in the grass.". She tilts her head a little as it rests in her hand. "So you want to lay in the grass with me, Norie-san? We can be like beetles flopped on our backs, but resigned to just gazing up at the sky.".

She reaches out and gently pushes the beetle to a small blotch of dirt on the other-wise grassy spot where they were. "Nothing deserves to remain stuck, Norie-san. Everything can get where it's going if it tries hard enough. It's the people that might step on us that we have to avoid.".
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana head tilts. "I guess so." she says softly. It's not like she has anything better to do. Riventon won't come out of his lab to give orders. She lifts her left arm and runs her fingers over that crystal braclet a moment, over those midchildian runes and other weird magical symbols. She sighs a bit and stands up as she moves forward a bit so she can lay properly in the grass when the beetle has been moved. She doesn't seem particularly intrested in squishing it on purpose.

She sighs a bit and just shakes her head a bit. "I dunno." she says softly. "I dunno if I wanna be human again." she admits. "....things feel right again. I mean. Not normal. I don't think I can ever feel like I used to..." she says a little quietly.

"...but I don't worry anymore. Things feel 'routine' again, stuff like that..." she says quietly as she stares up at the dark starry sky.

It kind of reminds her of looking up into the Dusk Zone. A pitch black void with pinpricks of bright light in the distance.
Natsumi Matsumoto has posed:
Natsumi Matsumoto folded her arms behind her head, making a sort of pillow for her as she gazed up at the sky. "There's nothing wrong with wanting to stay who you are. If it doesn't hurt anybody, I don't see what it really matters at all.". She sighs a little, unsure if she was saying any of this right.

"I just know that things happen, and the best we can do is find out how to deal with them. We can look at them from afar, but even forecasting the future doesn't help a lot. There's too many ways things can happen to change anything, you know? So the best we can do is just go with it or have some sort of hope about it. Nothing wrong with either one in the long run.".

She lifts one hand from behind her head, tracing out a rough shape in the air with her finger. "See that? That's the Crab.".
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana seems guilty. Of course she /hurts/ people. She has to. She has to eat energy. That hurts to take. It's unpleasent. But she doesn't relate that right now. She sighs a bit. "Yeah..." she says. "I just miss... my friends. And dancing. But I'm not that person anymore. I could try to apologize, but what's the point if I've changed anyways." she says silently.

She blinks a bit and head tilts up at the sky. Crab? Where? All she sees is a cluster of stars. "Huh?" she asks at Natsumi.
Natsumi Matsumoto has posed:
Natsumi traces out the shape again with her finger. "Right there. That's even where it was when it spoke to me, and made me like I am now. I mean, the magical stuff. I was always a star nerd.". She blushed a little bit.

"Can't you have the things you miss, even when you've changed? I don't think anybody is really stopping you from doing it, Norie-san. You just have to try.".
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana closes her eyes and shakes her head. "No one wants to dance with now... and I kind of screwed up my chances in the Dance Club at school." she says softly. "I guess I'll figure it out..." she says. "Eventually. Riventon-san tells me the same thing sometimes. But..."

She pays attention better this time to the star cluster and it takes her sometime to put it together. "Oh.. you're.... like. Connecting dots! Oh, okay. I see now." she says softly as she purses her lips. "Huh..." she says. "I wonder if I can do the same in the Dusk Zone..." she says quietly.

She closes her eyes again a bit. "I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I was a dance nerd." she insists softly. "I guess I still am?" she says ever so softly.
Natsumi Matsumoto has posed:
Natsumi rolls over to rest her elbows in the grass and fold her hands daintily under her head as she peers inquisitively at Norie. "You could dance with me? I mean, you put up with my star readings and you're sitting here star-grazing with me. It's only fair if I help you with what you love, right?".
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana blinks and opens her eyes and tilts her head over. "But you said you didn't know how..?" she asks. "Dancing isn't hard though. Just basic dance." she says as she looks back towards the sky. "It gets hard when you're talking more advanced show dancing. I like both a lot." she says softly.

"I like show dancing." she says softly as she purses her lips a bit and bites her bottom lip with those sharp fangs.

"I need to come into your club for my reading this month." she muses. "Not right now. Later." she says softly.
Natsumi Matsumoto has posed:
Natsumi Matsumoto nodded as she listened to Norie. "Show dancing huh? Maybe you could show me some show dancing sometime?". She giggled at her own cheesy joke, but her eyes were bright with genuine interest. "And you can show me how to do the other sort of dancing.".

She looked like she was pondering something for a moment before she spoke up again. "Consider it payment for the readings.". She looked quite pleased with herself for that bit of maneuvreing.
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana nods. "Okay." she says without worrying or pause, afterall, if there's one thign Riventon taught her, it's that things aren't free and everything has a price. Sometimes that's money, sometimes that's services, sometimes it's favors.

She purses her lips a bit as she thinks. "I can teach you to dance easily. At least the kind you'd see at a school dance. Basic floor dancing." she says softly.

"No reason to teach you ballroom or anything like that...unless you wanted to learn that." she says quietly.
Natsumi Matsumoto has posed:
Natsumi pursed her lips. "Silly Norie-san. It's entirely up to you. I'm just trying to find a way to coax you into doing something you enjoy, but say you can't do with the people you used to. You don't have to at all, you know.".

She tilted her head a little, green hues peering intently at Norie.
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana looks back with those unnaturally colored purple eyes. She seems to think a moment before she answers...

"Thank you, Natsumi-san...." she says silently.

She seems to have an unsure face about her, like she doesn't know if she should had said thanks or if she's remembering to feel the right thing. It's awkward from her angle.
Natsumi Matsumoto has posed:
Natsumi Matsumoto smiles warmly as Norie and holds out one of her hands, snaking it out across the grass and holding out her pinkie from her hand. "Make it a promise? That we'll do stuff for you. I'd say each other, except the thing you're doing for me is actually for you and you're very welcome.". She smiled ever so warmly at her friend.
Norie Okana has posed:
Norie Okana gently sticks her pinky out-- she remembers these at least and offers the shake. Even her pinkie touch is cold, though- but not ice cold. Cool. On a warm summer night. Like she'd been out on a colder evening.

That's just how it is.

She offers the little shake as she releases softly.

"I promise." she says softly as she tries to manage a bemused small smile. Which she succeeds at.
