Unlock My Heart: Amulet Heart Awakens!

Synopsis:	Tadase's just trying to have a nice conversation with Amu Hinamori, the girl with three Guardian Chara eggs. And then that thieving cat Ikuto just HAD to get involved! tha'ts okay though, Amu and Tadase gave him what for!

Amu Hinamori has posed:
    What a strange day-and-a-half it's been.

    Unlike Daffy Duck, we can't all be as nonchalant when we wake up in the morning to find not just one, but three brightly coloured, patterned and most importantly rather genuinely /alive/ eggs in the same bed as us.

    Unfortunately for middle-schooler Amu Hinamori, being nonchalant is kind of her thing; her attitude which has given her the reputation of being one of the coolest kids at Seiyou school.

    Therefore, it is with great care and while wearing a large, wide-browed hat that she... is outside of her school and in one of the Pikarigaoka shopping arcades, currently standing around and trying to look inconspicuous. The reason?

    Baby supply shop.
    Pet shop.
    Baby supply shop... pet shop...

Just where exactly does one GO in order to buy something to keep eggs warm, anyway? Where's a chicken when you need one?

Tadase Hotori has posed:
Tadase Hotori is out in the same shopping arcade, by random chance, looking to pick up some things for his grandmother. The fact of the matter is, he would've passed right by Amu and never noticed her, were it not for the tiny king grabbing on his hair suddenly. "Tadase! That's her!" he says. Tadase blinks, and looks sideways at Kiseki, his eyes showing an obvious confusion. "Who is her?" he asks, his voice low.

"That's the girl from yesterday. The one you saw with the eggs? The one who shouted during the assembly?" Kiseki says, his voice full of exasperation. "I can sense those eggs. She has two... maybe even three! And if she has three, you know what that means!" he says, excitably. Tadase nods. "So... go talk to her!" Kiseki demands.

So Tadase does try to move closer. He's going to try to get her attention casually, delicately, politely. And that's when a housewife, hands full of groceries, pushes him aside, on her way to some sort of sale most likely. Whatever the intent is, though, it sends Tadase into Amu sideways, and basically ruins his chances to approach her in some sort of normal way to talk to her. All he can get out as they collide is "h.hello!"

Amu Hinamori has posed:
    Random chance: the thing that stops us from wandering aimlessly into construction sites. Well, no, proper municipal funding and adequate public security measures are what stops us from wandering into construction sites, but random chance probably had something to do with how things got to this point, somewhere. Maybe a butterfly flew into a construction worker's face, and because of this all butterflies have to show proper credentials when entering. I'm drifting.

    Amu has three eggs, currently in a backpack full of old newspaper, but one of them is definitely a little more active than the others...

    And just as if she was given a kick up the backside, Amu Hinamori- quite without intending to do so- yelps and suddenly takes off towards one of the two stores-

    And crashes directly into the last person she wanted to see here. Hello!
    "Ah-ah-ah..." Yep, that's right, hi Tadase!

Tadase Hotori has posed:
Tadase looks up at Amu. "Sorry... my apologies. Someone bumped me!" he adds, hastily. "Hinamori-san, right?" he says. He's really not sure what else to say. And situations like this, frankly, are why he has Kiseki. Who promptly appears from behind Tadase and almost demands answers.

"You! Commoner! Did you recently come into the posession of two eggs? Or even three?" the little king demands. "This is very important and you WILL t..." and that's when Tadase, eyes wide and face blushing, grabs the little King with one hand over his mouth. He's quite shocked Kiseki would just start yammering like that out in the open!

Amu Hinamori has posed:
    "Feels like... someone bumped me, too..." Amu begins to say, because in a way she's actually struggling for something else to /say/, considering what she's actually thinking right now is 'zomg it's Tadase managed to escape him yesterday but BUT is he FOLLOWING ME????! (could this be good or bad) what do I DO WAIT I KNOW I'VE GOT A PLAN wait I don't usually think like this'

    'who are you'

    And suddenly there is a small thing all up in her face! He is making DEMANDS of her! Amu just stares at this fairy...

    And that's when a little red glow shimmers inside her backpack! And all of a sudden...

    There is a second, identically-sized little fairy girl right in front of Tadase and Kiseki.

    "I have arrived! I think you're talking about me?! You must be talking about me! Or at least one-third about me?!-"

And that's all she gets to say, as Amu likewise shoots out and scoops the little thing up with one hand over her mouth as well.

    Well, she thinks. It was a good reputation while it lasted.

Tadase Hotori has posed:
There is a lot of rapid eye blinking going on between the two elementary schoolers. "I uh..." he thinks. Then he states the obvious, because Tadase is smooth. "I see you have a guardian character too." That was really dumb, Tadase. He doesn't even need to have Kiseki talking to hear his criticisms in his head.

"Look... we should probably have a talk about this. About all of this. And not here in the middle of the street." he adds, as he's keenly aware that all of this is going on IN PUBLIC. Thankfully, nobody has paid the two any attention (nor can they see the Guardian Characters.)

"Why don't we go have lunch and maybe I can explain all of this? You're probably pretty confused about it all."

Amu Hinamori has posed:
"A...ppa...rently I do! I mean what?"

    It takes Ran a moment before she realizes that although Amu's hands are indeed large and mighty compared to her in size, the important thing is that she can fly! Both under and over them.

    And so, as Tadase talks to Amu, she proceeds to do so, flying in circles around Amu's head, with her arms out like a bird.

    And so, off we go. You would assume that what Amu is thinking /now/ would relate to the tiny, excited nendoroid that just hatched, but it is mostly 'is this a date is this a date is this a date is this a dateis this a date'

    And so, the two (four) of them find themselves sat down in front of a patisserie, Amu holding her backpack on her lap. The top is unzipped, so Tadase can see- yes- not just the one red egg which is currently split in two, but two more- green and blue. And yesterday's newspaper, too. Hey, a baseball player is working to help kids who stutter!

Tadase, ever the gentlemen, has of course demanded that he be allowed to pay for both of their pastries. Kiseki wouldn't let him hear the end of it if he didn't, after all. A true King doesn't force commoners to pay for their food when in his presence! He pops a small cake into his mouth, chews it, and then begins. "Three! I honestly thought three was just a legend. Everyone I know only has the one." He says. Kiseki chimes in "You only NEED the one, Tadase. I am the best Guardian Character you could ever ask for." He is very firm about this.

"Anyways - looks like the other two haven't hatched. Kiseki, and your ran - they're Guardian Characters. They're the personifications of your hopes and dreams. They also represent that person you want to become - or at least, your potential." he begins.

Amu Hinamori has posed:
For her part, Amu has a muffin. Except Ran's eating it, which is kind of strange because everyone else who's sat around probably thinks she's taking really, really tiny bites out of it whenever they're not looking. She would actually try and eat some of the muffin herself, but it's actually strangely soothing watching this.

    Certainly, the overall shock of all of this happening- having these eggs, finding out there are tiny people inside, DATE WITH TADASE ZOMGBBQ,,,, and so on- is mitigated quite a bit by the fact that Ran is just so darn cute.

    The only downside is that she can't decide if she wants to pay attention to her more, or to hang on Tadase's every word. After some reflection, she goes for the latter, because...

    "E-eh? My potential?" Amu echoes, surprised. "So this is like..."

    She briefly flashes back to her 'cool and spicy' dismissal of antics earlier in the week, and reflects on her desire to show what she's really like.

    "I like being assertive! Go get 'em!" Ran says, waving a pair of pom-poms she acquired from nowhere in particular. "You just need a little push sometimes, right? <3" "Ah! So it was you who..." That heart-shaped hairclip, and that impressive confession.

    "So you're like a magical fairy..."

Tadase Hotori has posed:
He nods. "I guess that's a close enough way to think about it, sure!" Tadase adds. He puts a finger up pre-emptively to stuff Kiseki's complaints. "Kiseki is like that for me. He's the reason why I can do things like the assembly speech - it's not an easy thing in the world to be the King's Chair, but Kiseki makes it a lot better."

"But I'll admit, I don't know anyone who's got more than one. That's actually pretty special." he says. "Since they're based on your potential, and the person you want to be, you must have an awful lot of potential!" he adds, smiling. He goes for another bite. Kiseki looks up from his bite to add "...or she's very confused about who she is and who she wants to be."

Amu Hinamori has posed:
"So, that was Kiseki talking, rather than you..." says Amu.
So, this means I still have a chance!, thinks Amu.

    She looks down at her backpack again, then to Ran. "And it was Ran talking rather than me. I guess? But..."

    She wrings her hands a little. "I just woke up one morning with these three eggs. I don't know if anything made it happen. And ... I don't know who these other two are? I mean, do you know when they'll hatch? What should I do? I don't know what any of this means for me... I mean, what's gonna happen if my parents see me? With a chicken coop or something!?"

Tadase Hotori has posed:
He holds up a hand. It's a small gesture, and it's met with the most fabulous, smiling bishonen boy look he can muster - the same one he gives when he's asking people to do things for him "It's alright, Hinamori-san. Please calm down." he adds. Kiseki chimes in get again. "They'll hatch when you're ready, and they're ready. When you need them. Right now just try not to break them." he says, between mouthfulls of sweet pastries.

"He's right, though. Don't worry about them. You're not a chicken. Just be careful with them and they'll hatch in time." Then there's a pause. "But since you have three, that means... among other things... that there are some things we have in the Royal Garden that belong to you. Because we've been saving them for you. For a girl with three eggs."

"As long as none of them are cats. If any of your charas are cats, we're not giving you anything!" Kiseki adds, adamantly. Tadase laughs uncomfortably, and thumps Kiseki in the back of the head. The soft thump sends the little guy tumbling through the air.

Amu with her backpack on, slipping on a banana peel and falling over backwards.
Amu leaving her eggs on the kitchenside table, and her mom deciding to make omelettes.
Amu going to bed with the eggs again, and rolling over during the night.
Amu taking up juggling, only to find out she's not very good at it.
Amu walking along, only for dozens of hungry birds and cats to divebomb her.

    Hmm, that last one seemed strangely prescient. Amu shivers a little bit.

    "For me...? D-don't tell me I'm some sort of 'legendary hero'..." Amu replies. She's heard about this sort of thing in strange whispers and overheard conversations of dream-like memories, but this is really turning quickly into some sort of strange story like a manga or something...

    "Ah, but to visit the Royal Garden..." It /is/ a very nice place, or so she's heard, and the cake and tea is delicious. "This seems really strange, but if it's with Tadase, I'll go!"

Tadase Hotori has posed:
Tadase smiles. He gets up with Amu, and they make the trek back through town to the school. It takes a little bit of time, during which while Tadase himself doesn't say much - and certainly does nothing to dispel Amu's nervousness - Kiseki and Ran talk. A lot.

"How long have you been hatched? What was the first thing you did? That was you I sensed in the auditorium, right?"

As they get onto campus, though, Kiseki stops being so jovial and talkative. "Tadase, there's something wrong. I can sense something. Someone's here that shouldn't be!"

Amu Hinamori has posed:
    "It's been a few days!" "I helped Amucchi confess her BURNING FEELINGS!" ("oh god why") "Yeah, yeah! That was me!" "Can we swap hats?" "Are you on instagram?" "What's Tadase's favourite color? IS IT BLUE?"

    Indeed, many questions are indeed asked and answered.

    "What are your thoughts on windmills?" "How do you spell swole?" "Can I wear your coat?"

    Thankfully, eventually this madness comes to an end when we reach the campus and something helpfully bad happens! And Amu is able to put that tiny little soul which has been seeping out of her mouth as she dies from embarrasment back in her mouth as she snaps to attention. "A sneak?!"

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
-= A FEW MINUTES AGO =-

A tiny cat-fairy like thing floats through a place where it's clearly not supposed to be. If there's nothing else to note that, the way he looks around him is enoguh to tell of that. But suddenly his gaze falls on something and his golden eyes brighten. "Ikuto! I found it, nya!"

"Shh." This from a voice behind him in the hall. "Someone will hear you." Nonetheless, the blue-haired catboy-- this one human-sized-- goes to join the smaller cat-fairy at the area that's attracted him.

Ikuto nods. "...This is the Lock." The other piece to the key he owned. What would they unlock if he put them together? Enough power to locate the Embryo perhaps? He had to find out. First, though, he had to get out of here.

Preferrably without getting caught!

-= PRESENT TIME =-

Ikuto and Yoru exit the doors of the Royal Garden. He has not Chara Changed, though, as he's hoping to get out of there unseen. As he pushes the door open, he looks first one way and then the other. Humorously, so does Yoru, each one looking the opposite way as the other. It's also worthy to note that Ikuto has his hand closed tightly around something, as if he's trying to hide it...

Tadase Hotori has posed:
Tadase and Kiseki both point at their respective cat-styled counterpart. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" they ask, in offended unison. "You don't belong here!" Tadase begins, walking towards Ikuto. Kiskei's floating right above his shoulder, headed for Yoru. That's when he stops dead.

"Tadase!" Kiseki begins. "What's in his hand?!" he points at it rapidly.

"You... what did you take, you theiving cat! Everywhere you go, all you do is bring trouble and misery!" Tadase has, to a small degree, forgotten entirely about Amu - but only for the moment. The object of his anger is standing too close, though, and just walked out of a space he considers his while clutching something. There are some eerie similarities.

Amu Hinamori has posed:
    Amu and Ran are standing there!

    Amu looks at Ikuto. "Oh no," she thinks to herself, "He's smooth, dark and mildly threatening-looking! And I think I saw the human sitting in a tree a few days ago." That's about it though. There are no dokis here, and we're not even talking about next season.

    So since she has absolutely no idea what's going on, Amu just tries to help. "Stealing things is wrong! You'll get in trouble with the police!"

    Ran shakes her pom-poms.

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
Yoru realizes Kiseki's heading for him, and in the air the tiny catboy curls, taking a pose similar to an agitated cat. His tail stands straight up, fluffed out like a bottle brush, and he hisses angrily. "You royal pain in the butt! Get outta here, nya!"

Ikuto's face has been unreadable throughout Tadase's tirade, only showing some annoyance when it was pointed out that he held something. "Ch'," he hisses, turning his head in a dismissive movement. "Don't bother. It's not yours anyway."

...Uh oh... That... might be a clue...

Tadase Hotori has posed:
Kiseki stops short, tilting his head. He doesn't even respond to Yoru's insult. Is it because someone said anything wasn't his? Or is he just trying to figure it out?

Tadase, though, gets it instantly. "..! The lock! You theiving cat, you haven't changed your ways at all after all these years? Just because you want something doesn't make it yours!" Tadase suddenly has a small golden crown on his head, and a scepter in his hand. He points it at Ikuto. He's now very stern, very commanding - almost royal, in his Chara Change. "Unhand the Humpty Lock, you alley mongrel. I'm not going to warn you again!" There's a small charge of silvery-golden energy already collecting on the scepter!

Amu Hinamori has posed:
    OK, now things are getting really weird.

    Amu is very much perturbed- especially, ESPECIALLY when Tadase suddenly makes a magical boy transformation, suddenly defying the laws of science by getting himself a crown and scepter out of nowhere, and- is that thing a weapon? What's the Humpty Lock? What's going ooooon? ;_;

    And then Ran decides to cut the gordian knot.

    "Alright, alright, alright, alright, alright! AMUCCHI ACTION GO GO GO!"

    "Wh-" And before Amu can get another syllable out, Ran has vanished and Amu Hinamori is going full bore rugby-tackle-leeroy-jenkins at Ikuto, heart-shaped-hairclip aiming right for- oh my goodness she's going to headbutt him.

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
Ikuto doesn't respond when Tadase picks up on it. But confirmation comes with the narrowing of his blue eyes. Yup. He's got the Lock. Now, Ikuto's never been one for long explanations. Or any explanations at all, really. And with Tadase now Chara Changed, he's not going to stand around and explain why he needs it.

Besides, that's what he's supposed to be doing-- making Tadase hate him. If Tadase hates him he won't try to help him... and then he won't get close to him. That way Easter won't hurt him. Well, as long as Tadase stays out of the way. And really, what's a kid going to do against a corporation like Easter?

Except all of a sudden Amu is running at him to HEADBUTT HIM and WHAT THE HECK?! The Chara Change is reflexive-- blue-furred ears and a tail appear. Though the suddenness of the the charge takes him off-guard either way, and ultimately Amu collides with his chest, producing a pained "Oof!" as the air is knocked out of him. He does, however, manage to hold onto the Lock. Though the shiny, pearlescent surface of the Lock does peek out of his hand as he falls back.

Ikuto won't stay down long though. Like the cat he has the ears and tail of, he is agile and quick, and kicks-up to his feet. "Ikuto! Let's get outta here, nya!" Yoru calls to him. Ikuto doesn't wait to be told twice. Sure he wants Tadase to hate him... but Ikuto doesn't actually want to fight him. Tadase might get hurt, and that would defeat the whole purpose.

Cat is turning around to run, it looks like!

Tadase Hotori has posed:
Everything happens so fast. He wasn't expecting Amu to dive in like that. And from the looks of it, neither was Ikuto. And... well, she might not be practiced at this, but there's no denying that though that escapes Tadase's lips. "Whoa." And she collides with the catboy, but she fails to dislodge the lock, and now Yoru's telling him to get out of here!

"Don't run, you cowardly cat!" Kiseki shouts, more at Yoru than Ikuto. "You always run away like a coward! Not this time! You're not picking on a confused little kid anymore! I know what you are now for sure! And I won't let you do whatever you like!" Tadase says. The anger and indignation in his voice has a clear undercurrent of sadness. And as Ikuto leaps, Tadase unleashes the energy from his wand. "HOLY CROWN!" he shouts, hoping the burst of golden energy slams into the escaping cat.

Amu Hinamori has posed:
    Amu is going to have to learn to have a talk with Ran about impulsive, physical actions. This will be hard, as a defining concept of Ran is impulsive physical actions. Maybe she'll do it when she can see straight.

    She didn't quite know why she launched herself headfirst at Ikuto, but it seemed like a smart idea, because if he was concentrating on Tadase- and indeed, both of them seem to have forgotten she was there- then it makes sense that no one would expect it. She gets a momentary glance at something in his hand, and she feels something very /right/ about that-

    And as Tadase, who she now has her back to, unleashes his golden attack it whips past her in a flash-

    And she sees
    For the first time
    Something
    She is meant to hold

    And so, she holds it.

Amu's hand reaches out and plucks the Humpty Lock out of the air as if it was a berry standing on a bush, like it was simple and meant-to-be.

    And then she says, "Huh. A padlock."

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
Ikuto slips up too. He makes the mistake of looking back at Tadase. In that moment the royal Guardian fires that beam at him. It does indeed hit him, right in the shoulderblade. Of the arm he's holding the Lock in. Predictably this sends the Lock into the air... just in time for Amu to grab it out of the air.

Catboy ends up sprawled on the ground-- again-- and minus one lock. He's still got fight in him though, evidenced when he gets to his feet agilely again. And he also appears to be displeased, as his cat-ears lay back angrily. If Amu was upset about Ikuto ignoring her earlier? Now ALL his attention is on her. And he looks ticked!

"One chance, girl," he says, his voice low and dangerous. "Give me the Lock." He extends a hand out, and a LARGE blue cat's paw, with long, sharp claws extended. "I won't ask again..."

Tadase Hotori has posed:
Tadase watches everything that goes on with a real rollercoaster of emotions - he successfully strikes Ikuto! Which is great! But then the lock goes flying! Which is the opposite of great! Tadase has no idea how fragile it is, or isn't, but beautiful things can certainly often be! And then relief, as Amu grabs the lock, and holds it close to her. And then PURE ANGER as Ikuto /threatens/ her over it.

Tadase runs up to try to be in position to intercept that paw, by magic or by his own body if need be! "Hinamori-san, don't give it to him! It doesn't belong to him - he's just a thief. It belongs to YOU!"

Tadase's intervention may, however, not even be neccessary...

Amu Hinamori has posed:
Amu Hinamori's world shrinks massively.

    Several days ago, Amu was a normal child, having just about reached the point where she had begun to question her future and think about her life. Then, came the eggs. Then, came one of the eggs hatching, into a small redheaded fairy.

    Then, her crush object told her that this was a matter of /destiny/, of /magic/, that there were other people in the world with fairy companions. That there was something special about her.

    Then- now- she found out that this is not just a world with magic, that it is a world with /danger/. With threats, with--

    She freezes, her eyes turning into tiny points. Her heart is pounding in her head, her muscles are tense, her soul is shivering.

Who do you want to be in this world, Amu Hinamori?
"Believe in who you want to be, Amucchi-!"

    She needs, she needs-

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
For the time being Ikuto ignores Tadase. He's concerned with that lock, and getting it back. He doesn't want to hurt Tadase. Please let him not have to hurt Tadase Move you stupid kid, don't risk getting hurt over some girl you don't even know...!

And then suddenly the Lock... reacts to Amu. The spectral paw disappears and Ikuto starts to back up, shielding his eyes from the light. "What's happening, nya?! That light.. is it...?!"

Ikuto doesn't answer... but then again, he doesn't have to...

Tadase Hotori has posed:
The brilliant pink light radiating off the girl he'd only just truly met is amazing. Both Tadase and Kiseki have looks of amazement and shock. Sure, the lock belonged to her - the Founding King said to give it to someone with three eggs. But... with it in her hand, for scarecly two minutes, she's already doing... there's no way.

Yep, nearly instantly, Amu is showing that the lock belongs to her, by using it to open her heart and merge with one of her would be selves.

For once, even Kiseki is speechless.

Amu Hinamori has posed:
    Amu Hinamori feels a name in her mind, a name she didn't know before, words- "Chara nari- Amulet Heart!"

    Yes, that is definitely what she said. Ran is gone, because Ran is in her egg, and the egg is inside of her, and - and she has a new outfit now, and a new power, and a chain for the Lock which has found its way around her neck, and-

    "Ahhh?! What is this? This isn't what I expected at ALL!"

    And she's still Amu.

She shakes her head. "Listen! I still don't know who you are or what you were trying to do, but this is /my/ Lock!" Wow, she's saying things even she didn't think about. But yes, this /is/ her Lock, isn't it? Yes, that seems right.

    "Skat, cat!"

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
She did. that girl... actually Character Transformed. The Lock was in her hands less than a moment and she already figured out how to use it. Does that mean it's claimed now could never be used by anyone else? Ikuto hopes not. He still needs to find the Embryo. He needs to get out of Easter.

But then he realizes. If this girl can Character Transform... then she must have inner strength much greater than she appears to have.

He can use that strength.

His posture changes then, from confrontational to nonchalant, and he slides a hand into a pocket. The other he waves in a dismissive manner as he turns his head to one side as if looking completely disinterested. "Fine, fine... have it your way. I guess I can let you play with the Lock for a while, little girl." ...What? The NERVE! He looks back at Amu. "Keep it safe. I'll be back for it." He looks to Yoru, and makes a quick movement with his head, indicating they should leave.

But he turns back to them before he does. Even as Yoru is starting away, Ikuto hesitates. And locks gazes with Tadase. He says nothing, and his expresison is nigh-unreadable. Though if Tadase is particularly observant he might notice shadows in Ikuto's blue eyes...

And then Ikuto's leaping up and away! He is quite acrobatic, and quite fast. But if Tadase or Amu still have business with him, there's still a chance he can be caught, if they act fast!

Tadase Hotori has posed:
Tadase's 'business' with Ikuto is the same as usual. Yelling at him. "That's right you cowardly flea bitten mangy alley cat! Get out of here!" he says, shaking his fist as Ikuto jumps high and away. Kiseki is miming him, shaking his fist as well. Then, he turns to Amu and smiles.

"Hinamori-san, that was fantastic. You were able to perform a Character Transformation so fast after touching it. That was amazing! That lock really does belong to you... and you belong... in the Guardians!"

    Whaaaat was thaaaat?
