Synopsis: | Immediately following 'Shadows of Justice: Shadows over Tokyo' the group discusses what is to become of Shiniko's magical diary tome. |
Cast of Characters: | Norie Okana, Kunzite, Kukai Souma, Jiaying Maki |
- Norie Okana has posed:
Twitch. Twitch. Purifying humming. It doesn't quite affect her as heavily as say--- bright pink washes of hopeful energy after pink hair girls yell 'Open Heart' or things like that. But it does make it twitch and react in a not particularly nice manner internally. She's pleased when it's over- because that was making unpleasant visions in her head-- perhaps not the kind Ikiko had hoped.
Sometimes it's a crapshoot with that sort of thing. At least she didn't go off her rocker or begin to dissipate.
The book has hit the ground. Ikiko seems off with Sora. She frowns and points to the book.
"/Don't/ /Touch/ /IT/." she mutters as she begins to float downwards to it.
"It probably whispers sweet nothings about fixing the world to you I bet." she says. "Given what we saw."
- Kunzite has posed:
Not all the shadows are gone. Some of them belong to Kunzite; the sphere cradling him drifts in that direction, too. He draws his hands back in for a moment, cracking the ice from his cape, folding his arms as much to warm his fingers as anything else. Shiniko's fire may not leave burns behind, but its victims don't go unmarked, either.
"Been there," he says, his tone dry. Been there at this tower, in fact. "There are ways to deal with such things."
- Kukai Souma has posed:
Sky Jack is still glowing like a lightbulb filament, teeth gritted. His hands clench around the handle of his electrified cricket bat, staring down at the spellbook. Little sparks are flying off the flat blade as he breathes heavily, staying precariously balanced on his hoverboard. "Can I hit it? I really wanna hit it. Stupid thing..."
- Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki holds Sora tightly for a moment in a hug before gently helping her to the ground, what with Ikiko there and all. She spares a moment to look at the book. There's a quiet moment then she says, "I think we should burn it. It likes throwing fire around, it's fitting." What, super evil books don't get the same treatment other things do. She may have a grudge against it too.
Looking to the others, she says, "Uh..." hesitating, "Thanks." she says simply enough. Looking to Ikiko, she hesitates before asking, "I can visit right?"
- Norie Okana has posed:
Lacrima lands next to the book and surprisingly doesn't go to grab it. Not yet.
"Okay." she says.
She looks up to Sky Jack and then Jiaying and blinks a bit. "What? No." she says. "That's stupid. What if that releases something worse from it?" she snaps.
She huffs. "I suggest you let me take it and have it stored in a secure facility."
Which translates to, Kunzite probably as 'I want to take this back to Eclipse and/or Riventon'.
"Where it can be locked in a box like that big gold chest at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark."
"You know, top men and all." she says.
- Kunzite has posed:
Kunzite drifts to the ground as well, opposite Lacrima, and lets his shield dissipate. "Much as I might personally be in favor of hitting and then burning it," he says, "the lady has a point. We don't know whether the book contains inimical information -- or whether the book is in itself a containment system."
He pauses for a moment, and then adds, "Doesn't Tsukiko have something of a specialty in figuring out which?"
- Kukai Souma has posed:
Jack finally growls and lowers the cricket bat, which vanishes after a few moments, its purpose finished. The electricity held within it dissipates as he looks over at Kunzite and the others. "No, Lacrima. I'm not going to risk it falling into Eclipse's hands, and then back into Sora's." He pauses for a moment. "....So that does explain why Shiniko hated me."
- Norie Okana has posed:
Lacrima frowns and crosses her arms and leans forward. "Oh, and we should leave it with your friends. Virtue?" she asks.
"The way I hear it..." she leans forward. "You already can't protect one book, let alone another." she says sourly.
She frowns. "Regardless. The first step should be to seal it." she says. "Sealing it shouldn't harm it... at least. According to my studies." she says. "I mean. It'll hurt it mentally if there's an intelligence in there."
"But to be honest I don't care about that given what it did to my friend." she frowns even MORE sourly.
"Oh, gee, you think!?" she says.
She crosses her arms and looks pointedly at Jiaying. "Can you...tag it?" she asks. "I'm sure Ikiko is fine with you visiting." she says. "I mean. Sora... she's still.. your girlfriend. Right?" she asks deadpan.
She looks back to Kunzite. "What do you think Kunzite?" she asks with a frown.
"I'd ask you and your Prince to hold it." she admits. "But I also don't think you want some sort of forebidden dark magic tome in your penthouse apartment there." she says.
"Is there someplace /really/ safe to keep it?" she asks.
- Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki looks between the lot of them and says, "We could wrap it in seals, stick it in a box, seal the box, then dump it in the ocean maybe." There's a few moments of thought, "Or we could take it to a temple. I'd recommend one out of country-" she holds up her hands, "But maybe a slow purification might help?" She doesn't like the idea of giving it to either faction really. "I don't think it should go to the guy that tried to explode orange... either way."
She looks down at the book and pulls a few tags free, all blank. Then down at the book. "I could tag it though, yes." She considers the slips of paper quietly, eventually settling on one that she sets at the center of the book, draped in a way that the loose side of the tag can be folded under the other side. She does this carefully, not wanting to touch the book though, not directly.
- Kunzite has posed:
"I don't think we need to risk Riventon being touched by the same entity, no. He's most likely stronger-willed than Sora, but what it offers is something he's vulnerable to deceiving himself on." Kunzite reaches up and undoes the brooches that hold his cape in place, then kneels and uses the cloth as a barrier between his hands and the book -- angling it for Jiaying's manipulation of her tags, then wrapping it carefully in the cape. It's not much of a safeguard, but it'll hold the spell in place for the time being, and keep skin-to-skin contact away. For now.
"There's a place it could be kept temporarily," he adds, somewhat reluctant. "The guardian there doesn't have fingers to turn pages, or eyes that function properly for reading, so curiosity couldn't tempt it; and it's not human enough to be tempted by other things. It wouldn't be safe to leave there for more than a day or two. But that might be enough time to investigate longer-term possibilities, and to give Tsukiko a chance to see if she can tell what should be done, and then to reconvene."
- Kukai Souma has posed:
Jack sighs and shakes his head. "I have no idea what's going on with the other book, but... And honestly, keeping it away from Riventon is also a bonus. I don't know -who- can keep it sealed away. Ikiko might know - isn't this sort of thing up her wheelhouse?"
He watches Jiaying set the seal onto the book and nods, then sighs and looks at Kunzite. "Oh? That... well. Maybe that'd be better than standing here staring at it. This just makes me want to hit it more."
- Norie Okana has posed:
Lacrima head tilts. "Riventon-sama's already handled the book before." she says softly. "Sora asked him to look at it in the past." she says. "I wouldn't be worried about that. I'm not sure if it'd affect me. I honestly would not want to find out. I have...."
"Enough trouble. Keeping control as it is." she says "Without some sort of third issue." she asides.
She frowns at Kunzite. "I'd rather something more longer than 'a few days'..." she says.
"...and I'd rather. not....." she sort of bites her teeth. She wants to say 'rather not see you hurt by it', but... ugh. Dark Energy makes it /so hard/ to say. "Nevermind." she mutters.
"Riventon would be pleased with me if I brought it back with me. But I also would rather not have it get back to Sora-chan... or end up doing that to someone else." she frowns.
"But at the same time."
"It could have useful things in it." she says. "That are worth keeping it around for at hand on some level..." she says.
"Ugh." she mutters and taps her right foot.
"Temple might be safe... but. I don't really. Go to temples." she says. "They make me feel... wrong." she says. "At least. Proper. Temples. Like. The Shrine in town..." she says.
- Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki looks to Norie and says flatly, "I... that's kind of the point. Sadly." She shakes her head and adds quickly, "Not you specifically Norie, but in general I mean." She pulls her next tag out and creates two copies, sticking one to the cover, then carefully flipping it over by only touching the first charm and sticking it to the back. Sort of like someone adding more tape after the fact. "I don't like it." She offers as an explanation.
Standing up, she brushes herself off and looks to Kunzite, "What place is that?" Curious, since she isn't immediately aware of sentient and thumbless. Eventually she murmurs, "Maybe we should just burn it anyway." Looking around at the others, she says, "Hey so... let's not linger. This thing gave off enough bad magic to draw the attention of everything basically. Probably shouldn't wait for something to try and steal it right?"
- Kunzite has posed:
"Pocket dimension," Kunzite answers Jiaying. "Guarded, both locally and remote alarm. Accessed through another pocket dimension which is also guarded, again, locally and remote alarm." He settles back, still down on one knee, and glances between the other three. "I can't keep it there long. But -- presume tomorrow will be spent dealing with Sora. If we reconvene Monday, that gives us two days to find possible long-term locations, and one day for Tsukiko to figure out what she can."
His voice turns dry. "And if I don't turn up on Monday, you all know where to find someone who can track me down."
- Norie Okana has posed:
Lacrima frowns and purses her lips. "Fine." she suddenly spits out between Jiaying and Kunzite's urging.
"But if that ends up in someone elses hands I am going to be VERY cross and hold it against you people." she says sourly.
She looks around and frowns.
"Fine then. I'm going. I need to go over what happened to my test crystal anyways." she says as she turns around. She frowns back at Kunzite and Kukai and Jiaying.
"I'll try to visit with you Jiaying.. if I'm allowed." she says softly as she begins to walk away from the group.
- Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki scowls and says to Norie, "Stop that, you know what we're worried about and it's not you." Standing up, fighting yet another desire to just burn the stupid thing. "Hide the book away for now. We'll deal with it as soon as possible. I still think we should be burning it though." Before turning to follow the vampire.
