Ribbons

Location:	Uminari City - Game Center Crown
Synopsis:	An evening at Game Center Crown is interrupted by a strange woman who feeds on dreams!

Yuuki Oshiro has posed:
It's friday night and the air is getting a little colder. A number of people are making their way home while others are just enjoying the evening. Like those who are hanging out at Game Center Crown. Numerous kids are in there. Several parents can be seen as well. Everyone is enjoying themselves.

Amidst the bustle of the Game Center, Yuuki Oshiro is playing a sailor V game. She's distracted and it shows as she manages to just make mistake after mistake. Still she isn't doing terrible. Its almost like her mind is someplace else though. This actually is not far from the truth.

Unheard to others, Yuuki is having a full blown conversation with her device. Its all done through mental speaking but its definitely distracting her from everything else. She just continues going, paying no mind to the several people who are interested in playing once she's done.

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto was in NORMAL clothes for once. Thank goodness. Of course, Tomoyo wanted her to be in her special clothing, but Tomoyo wasn't here today! there wasn't a clow card or anything. Just her today, even Kero was back at home. Granted, the cards and wand were with her, but of course they were. She had to keep them close, what if something bad happened?

She was just walking inside when she caught sight of Yuuki. Her eyes lit up and she walked up behind her friend. "Hey, Oshiro-kun!"

"Hey, no cuts!"

She eeped. "I-I'm not playing, I'm just watching," she mumbled softly, before glancing back to her friend. "Oshiro-kun? Is everything okay?" she asked, looking a little worried.

Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki is in normal clothes for her, loving the cool weather for letting her just go with minimal magic output because she's getting lazier. Which means she's in a hoodie, a pair of cargo pants and a comfy pair of skater shoes. She's also at one of the arcade machines, a fighting game of some kind to which she's currently trying to grind her way through the single player portion while waiting for other players to show up.

The sound of someone yelling no cuts gets her attention and she glances over at the two, finding herself not too far away. "Settle down." She offers flatly before going back to chip damaging a bot.

Yuuki Oshiro snaps out of her dazed like state and looks up, "Oh umm, Hey Sakura." She quickly steps up her game and racks up a little bit of a score before she finally dies off in the game. She gets up and gets out of the little box and makes her way to a less popular game.

"I may have umm outted myself to a less then nice person. I feel really bad about it. It sucks." She shrugs and smiles, "No Tomoyo today? No Kero either! Wow, a peaceful day for you huh?" She giggles a little before popping a coin into the machine and starts a game of pacman.

"It's time to go. Daddy will be home soon!" A kind mother states to her kids. One of them begins crying loudly. Half screaming. It is a kindness when she finally gets the child out of the place. But unseen to everyone, Something is amiss. A form of dark magic is released from the child. It floats its way through the arcade and settles on a bunch of ribbons that are available for Tokens.

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto nodded, walking with her. "Yup! Well, it's not so much peaceful. I mean, Tomoyo-chan is my best friend, it's always nice being around her! But her mom needed her for some business so I couldn't see her until later today." She gave a little smile. "But I had to promise not to catch any cards unless it was absolutely necessary. Daddy gave me a few coins to have fun with today so I decided to see the arcade." She moved by the girl.

"So, who did you out yourself to? Are they really that bad? Are you in trouble?"

Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki looks over at the two, then back to her game, wondering who a Kero is since that sounds like a funny name. The dark energy gets her attention though, head tilting back to try and pinpoint it, abandoning her game with a mutter while looking around. One could swear there's something in her shadow doing the same, with her shadow not always following her movement. That's just the crowd though right?

Yuuki Oshiro has posed:
"Oh this older girl. She's American. Blonde with red eyes. She's umm... intense." She sighs and then suddenly makes a strange face. "Umm, Something is off." Yuuki states as she backs away from the game letting it finish on its own. "Do you feel that? Its really odd!"

She begins looking around the room. Trying to see what the heck is causing these sensations. Idly she pulls the little string bracelet off her wrist and gets ready. Its a subtle thing, the way she's moving. Its as though she didn't even realize that she took the device off her wrist.

The dark energy infused ribbons fall to the floor behind the counter. They begin to blend together, forming into a human shape. Magic fills in the blanks as a dark haired woman with green eyes rises from behind the counter. She is dressed in a schoolgirl outfit. The type of which is from nowhere in Tokyo. The woman smiles and walks up behind kid. She touches him and something happens to him. He simply drops to the floor and seems completely exhausted.

"Whats the point. I'll never ammount to anything." He goes on speaking.

Meanwhile the woman just smirks. "Mmmmm, delicious."

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto looks around. "No? I ummm... can't really sense anything?" She paused. "Is the heater off?" She glanced to her device and gasped. "W-wait, what are you doing? Are you going to use magic? But what about--" Then her eyes are drawn to the weird woman. She stared. "Oshiro-chan? What's... what's that? Is that a clow card?" she asked, nervousness beginning to flow in. The drain card? Was there a drain card? She grabbed the wand but then froze. There were so many people here, she couldn't-- "Oshiro-chan, can you make a barrier?"

Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki rolls her eyes and says, "Hannah's nice enough if you're not fighting her." Not bothering to introduce herself, she's just close enough and recognizes the description. "You two are really bad at subtle. Duck out of the way and I'll see what I can find." Whether they acknowledge her or nt, she pushes into the crowd, literally sniffing at the air, relying on the hood to mostly hide it and the whole crowded area with lots of people to hide the other.

She misses the dark haired woman, though the kid falling probably will get attention soon enough. Any kind of murmuring would get her attention immediately. Pushing her way that way.

Yuuki Oshiro has posed:
Yuuki Oshiro looks up at Jiaying. They've met before. Still she does look annoyed. "I was keeping my voice down!" She snaps back feeling a little flustered. When Jia comments on what she is doing, Yuuki smiles a little. "I will help."

She quickly moves somewhere quiet. Somewhere away from other people and away from prying eyes. Quickly she speaks, "Radiant. Magical!" The Midchildan circle begins dancing under her as she speaks the final word. "BARRIER!" Immediately, the spell extends outward from her, encompassing the arcade and several city blocks preventing common people from seeing whats going on and drawing in those touched by magic.

As things take a more greyish appearance, The creature begins, the strong woman is suddenly pulled away from those who aren't magical in nature. "What?! no. NO! Where are the dreamers. I need to feed! WHERE ARE THEY?!" She screams. Immediately she starts destroying things sending ribbons out of her hands and tossing things around. Looking for someone, ANYONE to feed off of!

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto blinked, following her. She then gasped, "Wait, hannah? Oh! Don't worry then! I know Sharpe-kun. She's a good friend of mine. I can talk to her about it, okay?"

She moves with the other girl and holds out the key. "Key that holds the power of darkness. Reveal your true form to me! I, Sakura, command thee under convert! Release!" He wand formed in her hand. Then the woman started doing... well, that.

"Windy, bind her ribbons and protect those around us!" she yelled, before tossing the card, spinning the wand and tapping it. The spirit of windy flowed out, sending powerful gusts through the air and circling around the woman, forming a barrier of wind to tangle up and bind the assaulting ribbons.

Fortunately for the woman, Sakura was a dreamer. Unfortunately for her, she was an ARMED dreamr.

Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki has no idea what a dreamer is! "Not that low, even without my ears I'd probably have heard you talking about ooga booga magic!" there's a beat, then she says, "And uh... not that I have a lot of room to talk, but I don't care as much!"She does note the dome going up, something she's seen once before, with Hannah. "This is one of those things that means I can break things, right?" Referring to both the youma and herself.

Looking to the new girl and her staff thing, she once again wonders if she should get more a more flashy change thing. "What can you do?" she asks the new girl, then as an extra thought, "What can you do? I mean uh... fighting-wise?" to Yuuki even as she dispels her illusions, revealing her foxy features while drawing what looks like pale green mist around her. Her hoodie's changed to a set of Chinese style robes, though whether she was hiding that earlier or she conjured them is the real question!

Calling out to the rampaging creature, she says, "Over here! Come on, I've got some dreams!" ... she scowls, that was cheesy. Charging forward though, the mist coalesces around her arm before forming into a polearm, which she slashes at the creature, the guandao disappears not long after the swing.

Yuuki Oshiro has posed:
"Yes it is! Have at it!" Yuuki comments as she get herself ready. "Ready to do this Shining Star?" She smiles "Shining Star, Set Up!" They speak the last two words in unison.

Immediately the world around Yuuki shifts being replaced with violet light and falling stars. Her clothing vanishes only to be replaced by a set of violet, pink and white robes that look almost like a dress. She reaches out as the cute star shaped stone changes to a full on staff. Finally the transformation ends and the girl actually looks like she is ready to kick some butt!

Quickly she is over beside Sakura and is staring down the human looking youma. "I can do enough." She comments and looks around. "SHining Star, Melee Mode!"

< Melee Mode. > The staff quickly changes, taking the form of a naginata.

The redhead looks at the creature and gets ready. She charges at it. "Stellar Slash!" Shining Star echos and magic begins to flow. She quickly twirls around and brings the naginata down sending a surge of magic into and through the creature.

The woman glares, looking at Jiaying and then Sakura. She sniffs at the air and her gaze locks onto Sakura! "Dreamer... Feed me." She begins moving towards the girl to attack her. Then she is hit with with the nasty slash from Jiaying. She whips around, trying to use her ribbons to attack Jia. Sadly Windy is keeping that from happening. She does the next thing. She begins attempting to draw the dreams out of Jiaying. Suddenly she is rocked by another nasty Slash by way of Yuuki. She whips around and decks Yuuki hard enough to send her flying backwards into a bunch of Pachinko machines.

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto gasped and was distracted. She stared at Jiaying, her eyes wide.

"You... you have... are those real?" she asked, pointing at her ears. Oh gosh she wanted to pet them so bad, she--

And then Yuuki was sent flying. She yelped. "Umm, windy! Help her!" Windy surged forward, swirling around Oshiro, ready to catch her if she flew again and knocking the debris aside. She then looked to Jia. "I uhhh... this is really all I can do, right now. I'd need a lot of water to do anything else. Sorry," she said sheepishly, her eyes lowering and hugging her wand to her chest. "Sorry..." she said again, taking a step back.

Unfrotunately with windy distracted, it left Sakura unprotected. Fortunately, she was in the back of the group, so jia was closer and likely could keep the young mage protected while Yuuki regathered herself.

Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki kicks away from the woman as she starts t ocome towards her, a hand darting into her sleeves to pull a blank piece of paper. With a soft chant, the paper stiffens and floats before her. Hitting it with the palm of her hand, somethign is burned into it. Grabbing the charm after, she throws it at the demon, the charm bursting into flame, a fireball almost as she follows right behind it to follow up on the attack, hoping to keep it off balance. As usual, she leaves herself open for any attacks while doing this, but she is getting better.

"Yes they're real, I'm not normal, later though please?" she calls out to Sakura, though there's a mention of needing water. "What do you need water for?" as she tries to pull another charm free, trying to remember the necessary marks to conjure water. Would rain count? Can she even do that? She's never been a water type really." Looking from Sakura to Yuuki she calls over to her, "You've gotten better! Or uh... you've learned? I don't know!"

Yuuki Oshiro has posed:
Yuuki Oshiro winces. That could have really hurt had She not been in her Barrier Jacket. Quickly she gets up and a set of wings appear on her feet. She lifts up. "Ranged Mode!" She exclaims as Shining Star Echos back to her. Quickly the Naginata changes shape to look like a bow.

"Thanks. We can talk about it later." She looks at Sakura, "Cover yourself! I'll be fine." She quickly turns her attention back to the creature and calls out, "Shooting Star!" Again the device echos. QUickly she spins in the air and draws the bow. Upon releasing a bolt of magic is released which takes the form of a large violet star which goes sailing smack into the creature. "Anyone got any purification magic?!" She asks the other two?

The Monsterous woman laughs! THen she is kicked back away from Jiaying. It doesn't take much from that point to realize that she is weakened. She turns from Jiaying and starts moving toward Sakura again. "Come Dreamer... FEED...." She growls. She almost gets close enough to touch The girl before she is slammed with a violet star which sends her flying backwards. She doesn't get up just yet. Its like she's having trouble keeping her form together.

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto nodded. "R-right, later, sorry! I ummm... water. Like, a whole lake of water. It's, well, it's not really useable here. I just have windy for now. I'm sorry. I'm not... as good at this as Oshiro-san is..." She then yelped as the woman suddenly started shooting arrows. Her eyes went wide. "O-oshiro-kun... you're so... cool!" she said excitedly. "Windy, I--" And then windy disappeared. "Ummmm... Windy?" Ah. Right. Her cards didn't last forever. She drew it again and, after a few more moments... "Windy, try to bind her up!" she yelled. The windy card shot out, once again trying to form chains of wind and bind the woman thing.

Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki slides to a stop over the woman, catching herself at the last moment before she goes tumbling. As the creature struggles to stand, she slaps her hands together and says, "Purification is easy!" not that she's always comfortable handling that sort of thing, but it is an excuse to do so for once. Separating her hands she begins to generate a blue-white flame between her hands. She then plants her hands into the back of the youma, pushing the flame into her, the energy positive energy!

She hops back right away, making sure that it's working, not having actually had an excuse to use her fire this way in a long time. She usually uses charms and... less final and more usable and... she's nervous.

Yuuki Oshiro has posed:
"Not the time to gush Sakura-chan!" She giggles a little and looks over at Jiaying. "Awesome! Have at it. Time to shut this girl down!" She states as she takes hold of her bow. "Shining Star, Standard Mode."

< Base Mode. > Quickly the bow shifts turning into its base staff Form. Quickly she begins spinning her staff and then calls out. "Heavenly Bind!" Then with a quick motion she points the staff at the creature and a number of tendrils of magic go flying toward the creature. Wrapping her up, binding her.

The creature writhes against Windy first. It tries to make headway but it doesn't get too far before it is met by a solid binding spell. Then there is Jiaying purifying her. Moments later, the creature explodes into an array of ribbons. No more youma.

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto eeped. "S-sorry." And then, they exploded the beast. Windy disappeared, returning to card form and landing in her hand. She eyed Yuuki. "Wow... you have so many different kinds of attacks, you're so amazing, Oshiro-kun!" And then she looked to Jia.

She gulped and held out her hand. "I ummm... I'm... I'm Sakura Kinomoto. Nice to meet you. T-thank you for your help." Though her eyes were focused on those ears. She wanted. To pet them. So bad. Every fiber of her being. So bad. "So... ummmm... what exactly was that? It... didn't seem to be a card at all..."

Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki looks over the scattering of ribbons, grabbing at a few just to see if they're real or something else. Maybe they'll make neat souveniers or she can find something else to do with them. There's a confused look as she watches Sakura, offering her a smile, a fang-y one! "I'm using Chinese magic? You're using something kind of similar aren't you?"

Then she looks to Yuuki and asks, "Are you okay?" Brushing herself off a few times. Pointing up, she asks also, "How long does this last?" not worried about Sakura at the moment, leaving her ears open for petting. "Uh... you too Kinamoto. You're alright?"

Yuuki Oshiro has posed:
Yuuki Oshiro lets out a soft sigh of relief. "Well that was fun!" She laughs a little and leans on her staff. Her gaze goes to Sakura and she gives a smile, "Seriously I'm just trying to figure things out as I go along. Shining Star has been teaching me a lot in the past few days. The Bind thing was something she told me about earlier." She blushes a little though. Being called amazing is definitely something she needed to hear given that earlier she was doubting herself.

Then Jiaying speaks to her and she quickly perks up. "I'm alright. My Barrier Jacket took the brunt of the hit." She smiles and looks around. "The Barrier? Well I am sortof Fueling it. It will stay up until I take it down. So we are free to talk and stuff. No one will notice."

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto nodded. "Y-yes. The cards are chinese and european magic. The windy is... ummm... eastern magic. Windy is chinese magic, yes. I think. Sorry, Kero-chan knows these, I don't." She then gulped and... "C-can i pet your ears, please?" she pleaded, clasping her hands together.

With permission, she'd totally stand up on her tippie toes, reach up and happily pet the cute lil ears with a big smile on her face.

"Well, I think it was really amazing, Oshiro-kun! You can make barriers, protect yourself, all those different types of attacks and even bind things! You can do everythign! Oh, and fly!"

Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki rolls her shoulders back and forth a few times, reaching out with both hands before swinging them back and forth and in general regretting not stretching out earlier today! Even if it was a short and simple fight. "Barrier jacket? Who was it that was talking about their coats or jackets or-... was it the knife lady? Maybe it was someone else other than Hannah." She screws up her face, trying to remember before eventually just shrugging it off. "You seem more comfortable than you did on Halloween at least."

There's a beat and she flicks her ears back, both at the question from Sakura and a sudden realization. "I'm Jiaying Maki by the way Kinomoto." Beat, did she say Kinamoto earlier? She'll blame the language barrier if anyone asks. Beat again, "You want to pet my ears?" Sounding really confused by the request. She tilts her head to the side, then to the other side before just crouching down with a sigh. "Sure. Just don't pull on them please."

Yuuki Oshiro has posed:
Yuuki Oshiro smiles a little and nods, "There are a few people I've met that have devices and use a barrier jacket. Its sorta how the magic I use works. A lot has happened since Halloween. I found out that I am sorta... Strange?" She blushes a little bit. "Shining Star has been teaching me how to do stuff. Well Most of the time. It wasn't til a few days ago until she actually started really teaching me stuff without trying to kill me." She blushes a little.

Her attention goes to Sakura and she winces, "It takes a lot. This magic is really weird. Like learning it and stuff. Shining Star does a lot of the calculations for me so I don't have to. When I cast a spell that doesn't depend on her, it takes more time and stuff. The Meteor spell that I showed you a few nights ago. Its not too difficult and I can work out the spell to cast it in my head. Things like the Shooting Star attack though, I know what I want to cast but Shining Star works out the ins and outs and then draws off my magic to cast it. She's Syncronized to my mind. Weird huh?"

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto nodded, listening to all of it. "It's wonderful to meet you, Maki-kun!" she said happily, stil lgently petting and gently scritching the ears like she would a puppy. There were practically little hearts over her head. She just loved animals. And she made absolutely certain not to tug or hurt on them as the key turned back into, well, a key.

"Wow, you have to do all that, Oshiro-kun? You must be really smart. I'm lucky, the cards only need me to tell them what to do and then they do it for me. I don't think I'd ever be able to figure all that stuff out if I had to."

Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki twirls her finger past her ear, where a human's ear would be. What, she's learned mannerisms! "You're talking to a girl that chewed on furniture as a small child Oshiro. I think weird is a standard thing at this point." She's sitting there crouched, robes pooled around her, mist rising from the hems, hinting that the whole thing is illusory, or at least comprised of her magic more than anything else. Maybe it's a practice thing?

The petting, that's a weird thing. It's one thing when it's your mother and you're tiny, it's another when it's a stranger. She's not sure what to think about it and it may show on her face for a moment. "That stuff is easy-" she scowls, "Well not easy, but you get it better the more you work on it right?" She looks over at Sakura and asks, "What are the cards exactly?"

Yuuki Oshiro has posed:
Yuuki Oshiro nods, "You have a point. Your version of weird is a little different then mine. I've got a small machine that whispers stuff to my mind whenever am in a crowd. I was at Midori-ya cafe and I was getting a lesson about different types of spells. There are a bunch. Attack, Defense, Capture, Forcefields, illusions Summoning Manipulation, and then a lot of those are broken down further. Its really a lot to take in."

She looks at her Sakura and smiles to her. "Ummm. Playing music helps. I play the cello. Music is a lot of math. Midchildan Magic is a lot of math too. So it balances out. I am still trying to figure it all out though. Its fun though! Flying is fun. Plus there are some spells I don't have to cast when I am like this. Shining Star casts them automatically. Like my Light Shield and the Flight Spell."

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto nodded and kept scritching the ears. "Really? Oh, ummm... wait, you can play the cello, too? Wow, you're so talented, Oshiro-kun! I can't do anything like that. I'm only any good at sports and cheer leading."

She smiled at Jia none the less, happily petting her forever. "You're just like a bigger Kero-chan. Oh. My magic? Well... it's not so much my magic as... apparently there was this really, really, really amazing wizard hundreds of years ago and he gathered up a bunch of spirits into these cards. The wand I have is the only thing that can capture them and activate them once captured. I don't actually do the magic myself, though Kero-chan says some people still can, the cards do the magic for me."

Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki rubs her chin for a moment and pulls out a slip of paper, trying to do this with dignity that her current position wouldn't really allow. She begins to manually draw the spell out, not using a magical etch this time. While she's working she looks to Yuuki, "I live with a trio of ghosts, a vampire and my dad." Sketchsketchsketch, "It sounds like your magic is... a bit more varied than mine is though."

Her head cants back briefly and she holds the completed charm up and asks, "Can you focus on activating this for me?" Waving the piece of paper around. It's not the first time she's just used a charm rather than trying to ask the right questions! Should Sakura be able to activate it, all it would do would start to glow like a torch. What, a light spell is useful! And sure it's green and kind of creepy, but that lets her know if the girl can use her own magic too!

Yuuki Oshiro has posed:
Yuuki Oshiro giggles and smiles to Jiaying. "My daddy passed away and never told me just who or what he was. Shining Star told me. I'm half alien. My daddy crashed here on Earth. He was born on a world called Mid-Childa. Because of the way Earth is and the fact that it can not be accessed without people getting stuck here, I will never know the rest of my family." She blushes. "Sorry."

Quietly she takes a seat and watches the events transpiring. What is that thing that Jia just drew? Can Sakura activate it? This could be really cool!"

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto nodded and finally stopped petting. She picked it up and gasped as it began to glow. "Wow... it's so pretty," she said softly. Then the other things seemed to click. She moved back. "W-wait. Y-you live w-with a ghost? And... and a vampire? Y-you actually... l-live with them? B-but that's so... that's so scary!"

She glanced to Yuuki and blinked. She then nervously put a hand out and held her shoulder. "I... I'm sorry to hear all that," she said softly. "I'm sure eventually they'll figure it out, right? So they can meet you?" She couldn't help but feel a bit of a... connection to that. What with her mom passing away and... really not having any family on either side that she knew about.

Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki drums her fingers on her cheek and says, "Just be glad Meifeng doesn't speak more than very basic Japanese or you'd get to meet one today Kinomoto." Her shadow's acting strange again, it's making a face at her, when the name is brought up. She doesn't comment on it though, not right now anyway. "Ghosts are fine. Most can be talked to- eventually. I'm supposed to figure out how to help them move on, got in trouble for not doing that. I don't think the one I've known longest will go for a while though."

To Yuuki, she says, "I guess you've got me beat being from Taiwan. So are we talking like... the big eyed aliens or something like magical aliens? Because I could see something from Enma's realm being alien-ish. That's kind of another world right?" Back to Sakura and the glowing tag, she reaches up and pokes the back of it, "Takes a minimal amount of energy to power, but it's there. Making them- I don't know actually. I think they require magic? I've never asked."

Yuuki Oshiro has posed:
Yuuki Oshiro smiles a little, "They are human. Its really cool. They are just very big into blending Technology and magic. My daddy, He was a Device Meister. He created devices. Apparently it takes a lot of math and science to be able to do. He created Shining Star. She is supposed to be a prototype. I really don't know what that means though.

She looks to Sakura and frowns. She shakes her head. "Earth is considered a backwater planet. Way too dangerous for the TSAB to tangle with. They have lost a lot of people here. They tend to avoid it no matter where they go in time and space. The TSAB is the Time and Space Administration Bureau. They can travel through time, space, and across different dimensions. I think its kinda cool but... yeah stuck here."

Sakura Kinomoto shuddered and hugged herself. "M-m-my big brother used to talk about ghosts all the time... he said mom's ghost used to be there, watching us. And then... other ghosts... too..." She shuddered. "It was so scary... I've never... seen any though."

She frowned. "Wait, really? So they can't EVER? Like, even in the future? Even as things change? That's... that's so sad... I'm so sorry." And gave her a hug.

Jiaying Maki tilts her head from side to side, considering. "I don't see any around you right now, but then again, you don't see mine." She shrugs and adds in an undertone, "I won't try to poke at that one either." Then again, there was the other kid's mother's ghost being all weird and creepy. She should have done something more about that. She'll try later. "Ghosts aren't so bad, they're people too. Kind of." They are when they're tangeable and talked to at least.

There's a few moments of thought, then she asks, "Why is the story always that this planet is backwater? That always made me laugh- I mean sure there will be more advanced stuff right? Still. "I don't know if it's that dangerous here, is it? Even when things get bad, there's a lot out there to help."

Yuuki Oshiro frowns, "Not ever. Its not the planet itself. Its the area around it. This world is sitting in the middle of a magical mess that really messes with ships and stuff. It messes with their instruments and everything. The result is they can't control their ships around here and come crashing down onto the planet. They conceal their ships and start new lives because they can't leave.

She sighs and shakes her head, "The TSAB monitors Time. They would likely know if there was some point in the future that they could actually get to this world."

She laughs, "I thought it was rude. Even Shining Star called Earth a backwater planet. Its because its so avoided that it's gotten this reputation. Not to mention most people on Earth have no clue about magic."

Sakura Kinomoto has posed:
Sakura Kinomoto nodded, letting out a sigh of relief. "O-oh, good. Really? But they're so... I mean... it's just... what if they're not nice? Y-you can't... do anything to stop them and..." She shivered. "So scary..."

She frowned then. "Really? That's so sad... Why's our planet so ignored? Does that mean we'll never get really far space travel, either, because we just can't do it due to this... magic stuff?" she asked, cocking her head to the side.

Jiaying Maki has posed:
Jiaying Maki tilts her head back and looks up to Sakura, "We use science, not magic to fly here." There's a pause and she adds, "There was a neat thing about.... impulse drives? Was that it? Neat stuff, really." Looking to Yuuki, she holds a finger up and says, "That kind of problem is probably why my family insists I don't rely just on one set of skills. And not just because I'm terrible with magic focus apparently." Beat, "I try though. Really."

She takes a proper seat and asks, "Is this shield thingy still draining? We could find somewhere quiet to keep talking if you're running low?" It sounds like she's concerned

Yuuki Oshiro has posed:
Yuuki Oshiro smiles, "I'm fine. No problem at all. I was training with a friend and she used a spell on me. It was really powerful. Shining Star said it was a Rank S spell. I sorta used a spell to protect myself but even that wasn't enough to soak up that attack entirely. Plus by the time it was done, I passed out because my own spell drained me so much. I think if we were actually fighting and not in Virtual mode, She would have obliterated me with that attack. Goodness was it strong." She blushes.

She turns to look at Sakura and smiles a little. "Well, ummm. Because they can't exactly come to Earth without getting stuck here, they can't really judge where Earth is technologically. So We could possibly find a way to do things. Maybe we will find a way off this planet and be able to meet up with them and go visit Midchilda. I hope so. I'd love to get to know more of my family and more about that world."

Sakura Kinomoto nodded, crossing her arms and sitting down. "Wow. A rank S spell? Is... that high? S is the highest rank, right? Oh, I wish Kero-chan was here. He knows how all this works!" she said with a sigh.

"That's so sad. Imagine going somewhere and... just being stuck there. Forever. I couldn't..." She shuddered and shook her head. "Who knows? Maybe one of the clow cards will be able to get you home? KEro-chan says there's all kinds and they're really powerful!"

Jiaying Maki looks over her shoulder to Sakura and say, "By their ratings? Probably? I don't know. I've never heard spells given that kind of rating." Mind you, she learned from traditionalist sources too! "Who is Kero-chan anyway?" Then she catches herself and drums her fingers against her chin, "Kero. Kero." Beat, "That's Jiro isn't it." Before shrugging.

To Yuuki, she says, "It's a one way trip so they don't come here. It's a reliance on magic, they're leaning too heavily on it." There's a few moments, then she just buries anything else. "I'm sure there's a way to do it."

Yuuki Oshiro smiles and nods. "Maybe, someday I can go see where my daddy grew up. I think it could happen. Then maybe I can learn even more. Magic is really cool but its overwhelming.

She lets out a soft hmmm. "Shining Star, What is the deal with the ranks."

< The Ranking System was devised by the TSAB to judge the power of each mage. Rankings are as followed from least to greatest. F, E, D, C, B, A, AA, AAA, S, SS, SSS. Like school grades in some parts of this world, these can be plus or minus. Like the mages themselves, Spells may have a rank as well. You are currently a rank C mage, Sister. You've got the potential to become a much higher rank. Remember you are still a rookie. Your basic spell, Meteor, is a rank D spell. Is not very strong But can be effective. Your Shooting Star is a B Rank and Your Stardust Shower is B+. Give yourself time to learn. >

Sakura Kinomoto blinked, staring at them. Wow, it all sounded so official. She then held up the windy card. "What rank would this be?" She then glanced to Jia. "What? Oh! No, Kero-chan is... well, he's the guardian of the cards. He'll be a lot bigger eventually. Right now he's really small, though. Poor guy... He says once I capture earthy and firey, he can grow to his full size and be my bodyguard, hee hee."

she glanced back to Yuuki. "Wow, and you just started, righ?T But you can already use some super powerful magic?"

Jiaying Maki looks up at the card curiously and says, "It's beyond my ability. My charms burn out after a while." She tilts her head at the explanation she gets though. "And what... he's a short guy?" She holds her hands out, just barely apart. "Like the uh... Arietty? Is that right?" Beat, "I think it was. Tiny people right?"

Looking to Yuuki, she stands up, winces and brushes herself off, then hops from foot to foot to loosen up after crouching there for so long. "How is the magic measured by your coat?"

Yuuki Oshiro smiles and blushes a little. "I'm not that high ranked. I'm just a rookie. I'm still learning a lot and its taking a lot for me to remember it all. Its just really tough you know?"

< A mage's Rank is determined by a number of different points. One of them being their Raw Mana Output. Another is their their strength compared to other mages. It measures a Mages ability to achieve the task they are assigned. As for the Card I can not measure that. I can measure Sister's magic because we are synchronized. >

"Shining Star can measure mine. I don't think my Barrier Jacket is very high level. Probably F rank because most every device using mage can use that spell."

Sakura Kinomoto nods. "Ohhhh. i guess that makes sense. Different types of magic, I guess." She looked to Jia. "He is tiny and so cute! He also loves sweets. If you want, I can introduce you. If you know about chinese magic or wanna learn more, he might be able to teach you."

She then looked back to Yuuki. "Also, you said you told Sharpe-kun? She knows about me, too. If you want, I can talk with her about it?"

Jiaying Maki drums her fingers against her arm now, what with her arms crossed now that she's standing. "Maybe I should. I want to meet any other Chinese practicioners, it means I'll have someone I can bounce ideas off of." Shifting from foot to foot she adds, "I want to meet a tiny person too. Is he like a... what are the western ones? The cookies?"

She tilts her head and asks, "What spell? Because casting a spell isn't the same as storing it and reusing it right? If there's more to it, it may be even higher right?"

Yuuki Oshiro smiles a little, "The Barrier Jacket spell is one that is common among mages like me. Its one that most devices will use drawing from the magic of the Mage. It might be higher ranked but honestly, Its a very common one. I can't cast it without Shining Star yet but maybe someday I can. I think it would be fun!" She beams happily.

She looks at Sakura and frowns, "Please don't. I'm pretty shaken up from that meeting. A friend got mad at me for casting a barrier and showing that I was a mage. I heard a lot of not so good things. Its rough."

Sakura Kinomoto blinked a few times, then thought about him. "He's... like a little tiny winged stuffed cat." She said with a nod. "But apparently his real form is powerful and regal! I can't wait to see it. Though he also says firey and earthy can be very destructive and scary..."

She shivered. "Oh? Well... if... you don't want me to, I won't." She gave Yuuki a hug. "But if you ever need me, just know I'm there, okay?"
