Ice Cream of Fate

Synopsis:	Kyouko is having some ice cream. Sayaka is there, and so is Ikuto, and so is Kyubey.

Kyouko Sakura has posed:
    Kyouko Sakura has had a rough couple of weeks. Stuff, it seems, has just not been going her way, and she's in a rather foul mood because of it. She'll likely eventually go crawling back to Mami and make some semblance of an apology, but she's not quite at that point yet. She's still in the 'I hate the whole world' phase of frustration. And, Kyouko being Kyouko, the way she handles these feelings is to shovel junk food into her face.

    Perhaps deciding a changeup of the norm is in order, she has left her Pocky in her pocket and has gone into the ice cream parlor in Mitakihara. Some frozen treats might perk her up, enough so that she's willing to drop a few of her scarce yen on it. Actually.. maybe more than a few. The redhead, in her normal street clothes, has just ordered and been brought a /gigantic/ sundae, like one of those monster things in a huge parfait glass with like 30 scoops of ice cream and syrups and whipped cream and bannanas and sprinkles. It looks like enough dessert for a dozen people.

    There's actually something like a lively light in her eyes as she sits in one of the booths in the small parlor, eyeing the as-yet-untouched feast. "At least you'll never betray me, ice cream." She says out loud, reaching for a spoon.

Kyubey hops up on the table across from Kyouko. Where he came from, nobody knows, and most folks can't see him anyways. His paws are on the table, and his head juuuust peeks over the side due to his height.

"Kyouko Sakura, are you okay?" he asks. "You... you are aware ice cream has no sentience, right? It can't betray you because it's just frozen dairy product."

Sayaka Miki has posed:
    Phew, it's been a hot couple of days! Sayaka only recently got back from her cruise trip with her family, and she is thankful that she had little schooling to catch up with. Now she can relax, enjoy some ice cream and stay cool! Of course, there was another reason she chose this particular ice cream parlour, knowing that its a favorite hotspot of her secret crush, and she's hoping he might appear here again today!

    Stepping into the parlour, she's happy to see the lines arent big yet..And she steps up to the counter, ordering a tasty Mint Chocolate Chip scoop (she's not as greedy as the strange red-head however, who seems to really LiKE ice cream!). Happily licking the cool treat, Sayaka now peers around the room, searching for a place to sit. Darn, seems like most of the tables are already taken..

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
    Even Ikuto likes ice cream, even though he doesn't much care for sweets. Probably something to do with that whole 'cat' thing-- cats can't actually taste sweets. It's true, Ikuto is human, but the presence of Yoru makes him have quite a few catlike traits. But... dairy. Milk. Cat. If nothing else, Yoru enjoys it.

    So Ikuto has come to the Frozen Beach to partake of frozen dairy as well. He's dressed as usual, all in black (yeesh, kid's depressing). And floating above his right shoulder is the tiny cat-fairy that looks much like him. He orders a large sundae himself-- plain vanilla, to note; he's not only depressing, but BORING apparently-- and heads for a table.

    He catches sight of Kyubey as he sits down. Yoru is paying no attention, he's just grabbed a spoon and is digging into that sundae. Ikuto just looks at the little white creature with the red-magenta eyes, saying nothing. He begins to eat his ice cream as well, slowly, still watching Kyubey.

Kyouko Sakura has posed:
    Kyouko is /just/ about to dig into that glorious mountain of frozen ice cream when Kyubey speaks in that voice of his from the other side of the table. She freezes with her spoon a quarter inch from the delicious confection.. her expression transitioning from an anticipatory one-fanged grin to a scowl in half a second.

    "Yes, I'm aware it ain't gonna talk back, Kyubey." She says, addressing the white little beast across the table. "Do you /have/ to show up now? I'm really not in the mood. Why don't you go cuddle with Mami, she probably needs it about now." And then she does plunge the spoon into the ice cream, pulling it back out and transferring into her mouth where she chews and swallows in about a nanosecond before going back for a second one.

    She then continues to talk with her mouth full, because manners is not something she's good at, waving the sticky spoon around for emphasis. "I don't suppose you care that I've had a crappy week, do you, furball?"

Mint Chip (37) has posed:
Kyubey tilts his head. "Of course I care, Kyouko Sakura." he says. He omits that he cares because the worse her week is the more likely she is to meet the proper end. "If I didn't care about you, I wouldn't have come to check on you."

Kyubey, of course, notices Sayaka Miki as well. She's looking for a spot to sit. Kyubey debates inviting her over, but decides Kyouko is probably not the best first impression - given that she's generally hostile to new magical girls. She wouldn't want more competiton, the thinks. So he stays quiet and just watches Kyouko with those red eyes and unmoving mouth, head still tilted.

His eyes do seem to be saying 'you really gonna eat all of that without sharing', though he doesn't actually /say/ this. He's gotten a little used to hanging out with Mami.

Sayaka Miki has posed:
    Sayaka sighs, about to give up and go outside. She spies Ikuto's table first before she even notices the strange cat looking thing sitting and TALKING to the Red head! But she's bound to notice that sooner or later. For now, she glances over at Ikuto - whom she's never met before- and offers a bold, friendly smile, never too shy to address a total stranger. "Hi, excuse me! Do you mind if I sit here? It's pretty full in here and there isnt really anywhere else to sit."

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
    Ikuto pauses, looking up at Sayaka as she speaks. He has a rather imposing expression, but overall it's nothing really too scary. It's rather the sort of disinterested look a housecat might give. He hesitates a moment, looking to Yoru (who is completely absorbed in the sundae). No help there. It doesn't show, but he's kind of flailing a bit mentally-- WHAT DO?! HOW DO I PEOPLE?!

    Ultimately though, he waves his free hand in the direction of the available seats at his seating area. "...Be my guest," he offers quietly. He turns a gaze back to Kyubey, and the girl he's talking with. So she can see the thing, too. And the thing can talk. What is it though?

    Thanks mostly to Yoru, the sundae before him is disappearing quicker than it might seem with Ikuto just idly munching at it. It's only when Sayaka sits down that Yoru looks up from his place hanging off the side of the sundae bowl.

Kyouko Sakura has posed:
    By Coincidence, Kyouko's booth is the one directly behind Ikuto's, so as Sayaka sits down across from Ikuto, she is actually facing away from Kyouko for the moment, and Ikuto is looking past her at Kyubey and the redhead.

    This, however, makes it fairly easy for the both of them to overhear Kyouko's conversation with the magic cat-monster, as she is making absolutely no effort to modulate her voice, such things being foreign to her.

    "Check on me? You little a-hole." Kyouko says, as she spoons another heaping mouthful of ice cream. "You just want to steal my ice cream. I swear, Mami spoils you. Go on, get out of here. This is my treat, because yesterday I was covered in head to toe in paint. Do you even realize how gross that stuff was?" She's gesturing again, sending little droplets of ice cream flying from the spoon. "And then some top-hat dude wanted me to shower at his apartment! Seriously! What's with people in this city. I should have stayed in Kazamino."

Mint Chip (37) has posed:
Kyubey looks at Kyouko. "I admit, the texture of that paint was a little disconcerting. I had it on me too, remember." he says, somewhat indignantly. Or at least as close as he gets.

"Well, I was checking on you because first you got captured by the scientist lady, and you had to be bailed out by Mami Tomoe - then you nearly got eaten by that big fish thing, and for all your work you didn't even get the seed. I think you might be losing it, either your mind or your skill, is all."

Kyubey jumps up in the air, catching some of the flicked ice cream spatters in his mouth. He hits the booth chair in a soft thud before he gets back up to lean over the table again.

Sayaka Miki has posed:
    Sayaka smiles, "Thanks!" She settles down, digging into her tasty mint icecream..But pauses, when she sees the strange little catgirl(?) on Ikuto's shoulder. If it was just a normal cat, it wouldn't be so weird, but..It's so TINY! And it's wearing CLOTHES! And....It's eating his sundae!?

    "Woah! What is that? It's so cute!" She points and the little cat-thing on his shoulder, having only just noticed it. It might be kinda insulting to be called an 'it' but then Sayaka's not quite sure if its animal or....Well, she's never seen a human quite that tiny!

    In fact Sayaka's about to reach over and try to pet it..When she catches pieces of the..Conversation going on in the booth behind her. Wait, what's that? Looks like the red head with the giant sundae is talking to herself..? And then Sayaka catches a glimpse of the little white catlike creature when it leaps from its chair.

    She gasps and points "It's...You again! Woah, am I just going crazy today, or what? All sorts of weirdos in the ice cream parlour...Maybe I got headstroke from all that sun on the cruise.." Sayaka rubs her temples, blinking a couple of times as she tries to clear her head. But both little critters are still there, and yet no one else seems to see them. What is going on!? She thought going on this vacation would clear her head from all the delusions she'd experienced before, but..

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
    If Ikuto's cat-ears were visible (at present they're not) they'd have perked at the conversation between Kyouko and Kyubey. Covered in paint? Sounds like someone's been into some shenanigans! Which reminds him, he needs to stop taking it easy. Mind, looking past Sayaka is not too far of a stretch for Ikuto. He's kind of a jerk.

    But his gaze snaps back to Sayaka at her exclamation about Yoru. He looks surprised, blinking at Sayaka. In fact, his expression is mirrored in the tiny cat-fairy. "...You can see him?" Ikuto hedges. and then more confirmation comes when Sayaka points at Kyubey. It's true, no one else seems to see that thing either. Interesting.

    But she doesn't seem to know what they are. Which gives Ikuto an idea. Perhaps she has a strong heart's egg! What if it's the Embryo? But wouldn't Yoru have picked up on it if it was that? Maybe it's some other kind of power then. Still, wouldn't hurt to try. This one bears watching, it seems...

    "...Don't tell anyone you see them," Ikuto suggests. "No one else can, and they'll think you're crazy. You aren't. But they'll think you are if you say anything." A nod to the cat-fairy. "His name is Yoru."

    "Pleased to meet you, nya!" This from said cat-fairy. Whose face has ice cream all 'round his mouth.

Kyouko Sakura has posed:
    Kyouko has stopped eating. In fact, she's glaring at Kyubey with her mouth open as he decides to remind her of /exactly why she's so pissed off at the world/ in as succint a form as possible.

    Her mouth draws into a thin line. "You know what," She says, free hand's fingers tapping rapidly on the table. "You're right. I must be going crazy. I must be losing my touch, because holy hell, why I haven't spitted you /years/ ago is completely beyond me!" She's shouting by the end of it, her face flushed, which probably attracts the attention of half the ice cream parlor, but she is beyond caring.

    "Get out of here and leave me alone!" As she says this, she picks up as spoonful of ice cream and, using the spoon like a mini-catapult, she launches it at Kyubey in an attempt to chase him away.

    This is just as Sayaka is turning around and pointing. Kyubey jumps. The ice cream misses him. Unless Sayaka has good reflexes, it will hit her right between the eyes.

Sayaka Miki has posed:
    Sayaka blinks at Ikuto in surprise. "See him? Of course I can see him.." but she's quite relieved that he can see the little critter too...But wait, does that mean he's crazy too?! In which case, does that make her crazy? That red head certainly is crazy for sure! But then...If Sayaka's really going crazy, she'd better keep it quiet, otherwise, other people might actually think she is crazy! Ack! This is so....CRAZY!!

    Still, she nods to Ikuto, covering her mouth when she realizes that pointing at Kyubey may have just garnered some attention. Of course it seems the red head is doing a splendid job of drawing all attention to herself..Phew. Sayak should use this as a cue to escape, but..She needs to know more! It's the first time someone else has seen what she's seen.

    "ehh? So how come you can see 'em too and what are they?" She lowers her voice a bit as she looks back to Ikuto, smiling and nodding to Yoru, "Hi, nice to meet you!" At least now, Sayaka tries to be as discrete as possible. Not that it matters with all that yelling going on behind her!

She's about to introduce herself when suddenly....SPLAT!!! Ice cream hits her right between the eyes. "Ack!" She yelps in surprise, clutching her face as she tries to figure out what just hit her..

Mint Chip (37) has posed:
Kyubey interrupts the situation once the ice cream has impacts, after look back at Kyouko. It's amazing how emotive his unmoving face can be. "Really, Kyouko? This is how you want to introduce yourself?" he says before turning back to Sayaka.

"You're not crazy at all. You can see me because you're special, Sayaka Miki! Because you're one of the few who can make a contract with me... and become a magical girl!" he says, head poking up from over the seat, paws on the edge. He's squirming a bit. It's not easy for him to stay attached here without clawing into the seat.

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
    Ikuto shakes his head at the conversation between Kyouko and Kyubey. Wonderful way to encourage someone, he think. Kyubey must work for Easter, they're like that too. Getting locked in closets and locked out of buildings at night are amongst his 'rewards' too. And then Sayaka asks a question! "Yoru is a Guardian Character. I don't know what the living stuffed animal over there is." He inclines his head in the vague direction of Kyubey.

    Suddenly there is ice cream flying in their direction! He doesn't warn Sayaka, because he's a jerk like that. He does duck out of the way, though, just in case the ice cream should miss the girl. And then suddenly Yoru is loading up a spoon himself. "ICE CREAM FIGHT!" he declares, sending a spoonful of vanilla ice cream back at Kyouko.

Kyouko Sakura has posed:
    Kyouko has an expression which can pretty much be summed up as 'oh shit' when she sees what becomes of her ice cream missile. Kyubey, you little rat. To her credit, she actually starts to lean over, pushing Kyubey aside as he starts to give his sales pitch, "Oh hey, um, sorry about that, I didn't mean to-"

    SPLAT. Another spoonful of ice cream hits /her/ right in the face. Gosh that's cold. She freezes, her ice-cream-splattered face just like a foot in front of Sayaka's ice-cream-splattered face. Her tongue peeks out and sweeps around her mouth, salvaging some of the ice cream, because she's Kyouko.

    Then she scowls. "You know what, this just fits in perfectly with my week." Perhaps a bit more flippant than she would have been in other circumstances, she actually picks Kyubey up off the seat and rubs him against her face to wipe off the ice cream. He's so soft! A perfect towel. He's probably not happy about it , though.

    Then she tosses him aside and scowls across the table. "Hey dude!" She growls at Ikuto, while simultaneously grabbing a napkin and trying to wipe off Sayaka's face for her, doing an absolutely schizophrenic combination of apologetic helping and accusatory snarling, "Control your mascot! This ain't an elementary school cafeteria!"

Sayaka Miki has posed:
    Sayaka blinks, wiping the ice cream off her face. Brrr. That was kinda..Unpleasant. She's about to open her mouth and tell the red head off, when she actually leans over and offers an apology. Well, she might be loud, but at least she has manners. Sayaka smiles, "No worries, no harm done. Are you friends with that little furry creat--"

    And then Kyubey starts talking to her!! Well it's about time, she's had enough trouble trying to track the little critter down! And now that she knows she's not seeing things, Sayaka has a lot of questions for him, especially about this whole 'seeing weird things' and...A magical girl?

    "Woah, wait what? Err...maybe we should discuss this outside...?" She covers her mouth again as people continue to stare at the two tables full of weirdos. Phew, looks like a number of people are starting to leave too! Afterall, who wants to be around a bunch of weirdos who talk to themselves and claim to see things that aren't there?

    "Ooh.." She rubs her temples again as Yoru hurls a spoonful of ice cream back at Kyouko. "Heey knock it off, Yoru-san! You're making a scene!"

Mint Chip (37) has posed:
Kyubey smiles. "Well, we can if you'd like. I'm sure you have a lot of questions for me, Sayaka Miki!" he adds, giving his head a bit of a nod, causing his ears to flap a bit. "I am Kyubey, and I grant wishes to girls with the inner strength to fight for them!" he adds, by way of introduction.

Then, suddenly, he scampers up the side of the booths and perches on Sayaka's shoulder. "Girls like you, Sayaka Miki, with a hidden inner strength!"

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
    The living plush animal addresses Sayaka and confirms it-- it's a different power than the heart's eggs. Ikuto makes a thoughtful sound, but doesn't address Kyubey directly. Yoru, however, addresses Kyouko's command to Ikuto that he should 'control his mascot'. Foating up from the table a little-- he has no wings, nor does he bob in the air, indicating that he can levitate with no trouble-- Yoru pulls his eyelid down and sticks his tongue out at Kyouko. "You started it, nya!" he declares.

    "You did," Ikuto agrees, looking in Kyouko's direction. That said, though... he looks at Yoru. "But stop." No one else can see Yoru, after all; it probably looks like he threw the ice cream. He looks at Sayaka, with a smirk. "He's good at that," he says flatly. Referring to 'making a scene'.

Kyouko Sakura has posed:
    Kyouko scowls. "Ugh. I've so had enough of this crap." She gets up from the table, although she grabs the remnants of her ice cream treat to take with her. No wasting food! She watches as Kyubey snakes his way onto Sayaka's shoulder, and continues the pitch unabated. She sighs and shakes her head. "As if this city ain't crowded enough." She mutters to herself.

    She sneers a little bit at Ikuto, lip curling back to reveal her fang. "I started it, and I'm finishing it. I don't got the time or the patience today to deal with brats." This is said completely unironically, despite Kyouko very probably being the brattiest one in the room.

    As she turns to leave though, she pauses. She glances at Sayaka, with Kyubey on her shoulder, filling her head with notions about inner strength and crap.

    She leans over, putting a hand on Sayaka's other shoulder, and she whispers to the blue-haired girl, "Take a bit of advice from be, Raspberry-san," not knowing the girl's name, this just pops into her head for some reason. "Wishes always come with a price. What you do ain't my business but.. think real hard before you go makin' any wishes. The reality ain't what it's cracked up to be." Then she removes her hand, and walks away, taking her ice cream with her as she exits the shop.

Sayaka Miki has posed:
    Sayaka blinks in surprise as Kyubey leaps onto her shoulder. Awwe, he's all soft and huggable! She smiles, "Nice to meet you, Kyubey! But are you sure you got the right girl? I'm just a regular girl..do I really have that sort of potential...?" Still, it sounds pretty nice. Her, a heroine? Well, it's true that Sayaka has always stood up to bullies and protected the helpless but..

    "Wait a minute, how come you know my name?" she scratches her head, thinking of the many times she saw Kyubey watching her from the distance. But it was always a difficult situation to approach.."Huh, that sounds pretty nice, but I have no idea what I would wish for.." she makes a face at Yoru, "Hey, grow up will ya? You're acting childish, leave the girl alone. She seemed pretty upset about something.." Well at least his owner seems to have him under control. "He's pretty fiesty, your little friend there..."

    Glancing over at Kyouko rather apologetically, Sayaka offers her a napkin to wipe her face with, "Hey, you alright? Here.." But suddenly she's off, looking pretty grumpy, before Sayaka could even give her the napkin.

    "Hey, wait!" Sayaka gets the feeling that the Red Head knows something valuable..Besides, she seemed pretty upset. She should follow her and Sayaka begins to rise from her seat. "Kyubey-san, who is that girl? Why's she in such a bad mood?"

Mint Chip (37) has posed:
Kyubey turns to look at Sayaka - it's not that he doesn't notice Yoru and Ikuto, but more that right now his goals are 100% 'add another magical girl to Tokyo'. "She's just doesn't like competition." he says. "I think she's upset I'm offering this opprotunity to you."

A pause. "Well, of course I have the right girl!" he says, sitting upright. "It's my job to tell who's the right girl and who's not, after all. I know who you are because I've been keeping an eye on you, to make sure. And I'm one-hundred percent sure that you're the right girl."

Kyubey's giving the hard sell pretty quickly. "Besides, I'm sure you must have some sort of wish dear to your heart. Some miracle you want to see become real."

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
    Yoru gives the most undignified "PHBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBT!" at Kyouko's retreating back. Ignoring all that, Ikuto replies, to Sayaka's comment, "Normal people can't see Yoru. You must be special in some way."

    And if he had his violin, Ikuto would try and see if it was special in the way HE needed someone to be...

    But no. Bereft of violin-chan, he has to just listen and see. "Though the loud girl has a point. Nothing's free," he comments idly, taking another bite of his slowly melting sundae.

Sayaka Miki has posed:
    "I see..." Sayaka frowns softly, peering after Kyouko as she leaves. She folds the napkin away, deciding to track her down and give it to her later, maybe when she's cooled down a bit. "Competition huh? But that warning she gave...If you can really grant wishes, then I want to make sure I've thought carefully about what I want. I mean, it'd suck to totally regret it afterwards, wouldn't it?"

    She smiles as she ponders the remains of her rapidly melting ice cream. With all the antics going on, Sayaka had nearly forgotten, and she takes a few quick bites before finishing it off, carefully wiping the melted cream from her hands while keeping a wary eye on Yoru-he's a bit of a trickster it seems!

    "I mean, right now, I have everything I want. There are others who are less fortunate than me, who could use a wish. I'm pretty lucky right now I guess.." She chuckles, "and I have no idea what to wish for...Ahh, I wish Madoka-chan were here. I haven't seen her since I left on my cruise. I wonder if she returned from America yet??"

    But that reminds her of Yoru, and she wonders what exactly he is. "Sooo, Yoru's different, huh? Did he give you magical powers too?" this is addressed to Ikuto, but she still doesnt know his name.

Mint Chip (37) has posed:
Kyubey perks up a bit. After all, with Madoka being in America for so long, he's not seen the two of them together yet. "Do you know Madoka Kaname?" he asks, directly. He doesn't give more information than that. Best not to put all of his cards on the table.

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
    Thankfully Yoru does not fling ice cream in Sayaka's direction. No, he's too busy eating what's left of Ikuto's ice cream! Omnomnom! Ikuto actually stays quiet until Sayaka addresses him. Then he nods to her question. "It's different than yours. Yoru didn't come to me. He was always there."

    And he's STILL NOT OFFERING HIS NAME, the little brat.

    But he quiets again when the two start talking about Madoka Kaname. Maybe, if Sayaka's strong magically, this 'Madoka' is too. Maybe even strong enough to be the host of the Embryo?

Sayaka Miki has posed:
    "Yeah," she smiles, "Madoka is my best friend. We've known each other since we were little kids! But she recently went to a really long trip to America..I'm not even sure if she planned to come back." Then a thought hits her, "Kyubey-san, have you seen Madoka-chan recently? Is she back in Tokyo again? Ahhh, I really miss her.." that makes her a little sad. But hearing her name again gives her hope.

    There's still curiosity for Ikuto and his familiar as well, although he doesn't seem to volunteer as much information. From what Sayaka can gather, he seems to be some sort of magical..Boy? Huh, this is so odd. "He was always there? What do you mean? Sorry for all the questions, but this is so strange. This whole 'magical' thing? It's like fairytale stuff! I mean, as far as I know, I'll wake up tomorrow and this'll all be a dream.."

Kyubey doesn't say much at first. Then he thinks. "Yes, I know Madoka - she's back in Japan, you know!" again, he's now keeping his cards close to his chest. This is, at least, an interesting development, if nothing else! "I talked to her just yesterday." he adds, then considers. "There's another girl that's trying to keep me from talking to Madoka - she's got potential just like you! - and she keeps using violence to prevent me from talking."

"And it'd be really good for everyone right now if Madoka Kaname took the contract. She's got a lot of power. She could save a lot of people. There are dangerous things going on in Tokyo, Sayaka Miki. Tokyo needs heroes - it needs magical girls, like Madoka and yourself. You can save people's lives."

There's a brief pause."Would you like to see - would you like me to show you?"

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
    Ikuto tilts his head. "...Do you have a dream?" he asks. That's an odd question. "Hold onto it if you do. It just might make you powerful." That's about all he offers by way of explanation.

    "Ikuto, that was pretty vague, nya," Yoru replies. Well, there's tall dark and gothy's name, anyway.

    "But true," Ikuto counters. Though as Kyubey offers to show the girl something scary... Ikuto frowns a little. He wants this girl to stay alive for now-- she's his link to this 'Madoka' girl. "...Then let me go. If you're showing her the darker side of this, she'll need someone to protect her."

Sayaka Miki has posed:
    "waiiit, so Madoka has potential to be a magical girl too? But who's trying to stop her, and why?" She frowns, pondering this turn of events. It's true a lot of strange things have happened lately - lots of strange disappearances, mysterious 'accidents' and other weird things.
