Cast of Characters: Minoke Sato, Haru Zinoro

Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato is rolling down the street - she was in the hospital a few days ago, and went back home last night. She emerged now and, having the day off school, she is just rolling along the street. She starts heading in the direction of Haru-kun's house. Maybe she can talk to him about all the weird stuff that's been happening to her of late.
Haru Zinoro has posed:
Minoke will easily find Haru. On a day off from school he's in the garden at his family's house, tending to the flowers. He's watering them right now. There's a wall around Haru's house, but it's a low, knee-high wall that's mostly fence, so he can easily be seen through it. And so can Minoke! He looks up upon seeing the movement, and offers Minoke a calm smile. Then he goes to the gate to open it for her. "Hello," he greets her.
Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato smiles. "Hi Haru-kun," she states as she rolls in. "Your flowers are so pretty... I'll never be the gardner you are - I try to have a flowered plant in my room but I have a black thumb." She smiles softly. "Good to see you again - I missed you the last few days."
Haru Zinoro has posed:
"It just takes practice," Haru notes, closing the gate behind Minoke. "A Frikart's aster might be good. They're very hardy." A chuckle. More seriously, he notes, "It's good to see you again." He seems unaware of any supernatural goings-on of late. Or if he is, he hasn't mentioned them, nor does he look as though he's upset by anything in particular. But with his calmness, it's hard to tell anyway.
Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato smiles softly. 'I... I'd like to talk to you about something, Haru. I... you might've noticed that I've been a lot happier the last month. I... I'd like to show you why. If you want. I found something... that changed my life." She smiles faintly. "And no, it's not religion or drugs in case you're wondering."
Haru Zinoro has posed:
Haru tilts his head a bit, that same calm smile on his face. "Even if it was, it's not my place to judge," he notes. "If it's made you happy, that's all I can ask about it. So long as it's real happiness." He nods. "But I'd like to know what it is, if you feel inclined to share." He motions towards a bench nearby in the garden. No, he knows Minoke won't need it, but he will!
Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato rolls over there, careful to stay on the paths and not into the flower beds. "Do you believe in magic?" she whispers softly as she looks at you. "Serious question." She gazes at you intently.
Haru Zinoro has posed:
Haru heads over to the bench as well, and sits down in preparation for the beginning of the discussion. He has a feeling it's going to be one he needs to sit down for anyway. And then Minoke asks that question. Haru blinks, surprised. "...Well..." Pause. "I've seen nothing to suggest to the contrary. There are more things in this universe than we can conceive of. Magic could indeed be one of those things." He speaks carefully, nothing he says a lie, but not really revealing anything, either.
Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato nods slowly. "Yes. I was expecting you to say that." She then takes a slow deep breath. "What do you think of the magical girls that are all around the place these days apparently/ They're in the news all the time - you know, like Sailor V, thesubject of all those recent video games?"
Haru Zinoro has posed:
"I admit, I don't know much about it," Haru confesses. Which he doesn't. "I haven't had a chance to play any of those games, but I've seen a few on television. They're quite popular, aren't they? As for the magical girls themselves? I've only heard, read a few blogs. I'm not sure what they're fighting, or why they're necessary. I've heard aliens, mobsters, demons-- all of it. All I realy know is they do dangerous things, but I'm not quite sure why."
Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato murmurs, "Can you keep a secret? I... I'm now one of them. I can show you - if you want to see. It's basically the best thing that happened to me since my accident>" She smiles faintly. "Hmmmm... maybe we should go inside before I do this?"
Haru Zinoro has posed:
Haru blinks, leaning back a bit. Not in fear, in surprise. The mention of going inside gets a nod, and he stands. "You aren't going to explode, are you?" he teases. "I've seen a few of those magical girls change and they've exploded. I don't see how they don't cause massive amounts of collateral damage." Nonetheless, he opens the door for Minoke. His room is up a flight of stairs, but he has an idea. "There's a den on the first floor no one really uses. Do you want to go there?" he asks.
Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato nods. "Yeah - that will work nicely." She smiles. "I think most of it is just magical special effects... it's not a literal explosion." She rolls in. "Vortex, say hi," she states. Suddenly the gem on the choker aruond her neck starts to flash. "Hi." comes the voice. "That's Swirling Vortex, my Intelligent Device. The choker my parents got me - it was a Device in hiding. It stayed inert... till I fell out of my chair at home. Then it woke up and helped me. I... I've wanted to tell this to you for over a month, Haru-kun - but I had to wait till the time is right..."
Haru Zinoro has posed:
Haru assists as needed for Minoke to get into the den. His parents are in the house, but his mother's in the office going over sales figures and his father's upstairs somewhere. So they should be relatively safe to reveal secrets in the den. He finds a seat there, and listens as Minoke explains. And then a genuine look of surprise, carnelian eyes widening, when the necklace Minoke wears pings and then speaks. "Well, that's... certainly not what I was expecting," he replies.

He ignores the light ping from his pocket. ('Shh! Don't say anything, Anthy!') he thinks at his own Device. He can't have that secret getting out. Not yet.

"So... what does that mean for you?" Haru inquires, a light frown of worry creasing his brow.
Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato nods softly. "Swirling Vortex, Set Up," she states and then she begins her henshin - and when it's over she is wearing a red unitard and a red overcoat, a thre-foot-long made with a biack onyx gem sitting across her lap. She looks at you, blu shing faintly - henshins are a bit... revealing. "Do you remember what name I used when I did my gymnastics... before I fell?" she asks softly as she remains sitting in the chair.
Haru Zinoro has posed:
Really, there's so much light that Haru can't tell anything revealing about the henshin. A mental ping comes from Anthos Armonia, the presence of a strong source of magic is nearby. If he could, Haru would side-eye the Device. No, really? That seems pretty darned obvious. But then Minoke's changed, and asking him a question. He nods. "Firebird, wasn't it? You always wore red, and soared like a bird?" He keeps the response short, because he doesn't want to remind her too much of times gone by.
Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato nods. "Yes. Vortex asked me to imagine a.. Barrier Jacket. I imagined this." She smiles faintly. "I took the name Firebird once more." A black aura would surround her - and she starts to float upwards. "I can fly again..." she whispers, a big grin on her face as she starts a lazy vertical 180, ending up floating upside down - but her hair doesn't fall away from her head. "I.... had to build up the courage to tell you about all of this!" she coooos. "I... I thought you'd appreciate the news... even if you can't tell anyone."
Haru Zinoro has posed:
Haru watches Minoke float upside down, a bit fearful she might fall on her head. But she doesn't, thankfully. Which prompts a smile. "So that's why you've seemed so much happier of late," he notes. "A pity, I thought the flowers had cheered you up." It's hard to tell whether he's kidding or not. Nonetheless, the smile is still there. More seriously, he adds, "I'm just glad there's something in your life now that makes you happy."
Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato nods. "Yeah..." she states. "The flowers kept me from going crazy. But this - is going to make me truly happy." She grins widely as she turns upright. "Would you like to float in Zero-G for a bit?" she asks. "I've found it very relaxing." She just strokes the weapon across her lap.
Haru Zinoro has posed:
Haru's smile remains in place as Minoke admits she's finally happy again. Though the offer gets a chuckle. "No, thank you. I don't think I'd handle being disconnected from solid ground very well," he replies, a slightly self-derisive tone to his voice.
Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato nods. "Yeah... I guess so..." she states as she returns to her chair. "Vortex - return to standby." The mace beeps and the henshin unravels, leaving Minoke in her noraml clothes, the choker draped across her lap. She buckles the choker back aruond her throat. 'What do you think?" she asks.
Haru Zinoro has posed:
"What do I think? Exactly what I said," Haru replies with a chuckle. "I'm glad you've found something that can give your wings back to you. As long as it makes you happy, I'm happy too." He smiles. "Is there any sort of price for using it, do you think? It's not draining you, is it?"
Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato smiles. "No - there are some other magical girls that do have a price. If I overexert myself magically I can become very tired - but you get tired for any kind of strenuous activity."
Haru Zinoro has posed:
Haru nods. "That does make sense," he admits. "Do you have to learn about it, or did it sort of... reveal all its secrets?" he asks. He's actually asking for a couple of reasons, but he's not going to tell Minoke yet what the other reasons are.
Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato hmmmmms. "Vortex will advise me if she thinks I'm ready for a new spell.." she muses. "She's called an Intelligent Device for a reason - it's like a supercomputer or something. Alien technology."
Haru Zinoro has posed:
"Alien technology?" Haru echoes, seeming surprised. Though he did know that, Anthos Armonia told him that much. But not a whole lot more. Then again he hasn't really had need to use the Device yet, aside from this 'set up' business. "Are you sure it's safe?"
Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato shrugs. "I've had Swirling Vortex for over a month. Other than being too tired to maintain my gravity aura and falling a few times, I haven't had any problems."
Haru Zinoro has posed:
Once more Haru nods. "That's good. Well, not that you've fallen, no. That it's safe, I mean," he replies. "You'd have to ask at what price comes the return of your wings. I know you'd be willing to pay it, Firebird-chan, but the rest of us might worry if it was a heavy price." He chuckles.
Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato smiles. "I don't know of any price on it - and... I'd pay it if it was anything short of my soul..." She looks haunted. "Some... people... HAVE to pay that price but I'm not one of them, thankfully."
Haru Zinoro has posed:
"I won't judge others," Haru replies. "That's not for me to say for them. I wouldn't pay such a price myself. But maybe for them it's worth it." He shifts in his chair, and then offers, "Should I make some tea?" he offers. "I think we still have some of those little sugar cookies."
Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato nods. "Oh - I love those things. Yeah, sure, some tea sounds lovely. I just had to come tell you about this - once I worked up the courage to tell you about my new crime-fighting career." She giggles.
Haru Zinoro has posed:
Haru chuckles, and then stands. "Just be careful, that's all I ask," he says, before he heads into the kitchen to start making tea. He'll come back in a little while, maybe ten minutes (if Minoke doesn't go with him, that is) with a platter with two cups and a pot, and a tin of sugar cookies on it.
Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato stays in the den, smiling softly as she just leans back, sighing softly, and then when you arrive, she smiles and serves the tea for the two of us. "I... I hope this doesn't change our friendship any," she states softly.
Haru Zinoro has posed:
Haru pauses, in mid picking up of his cup, and looks at her as if he didn't quite understand what she'd just said. "Why would it?" he inquires. "I assume you wouldn't be using it to hurt me, and the way you feel about me hasn't changed. The only thing about my feelings that have changed is that I'm happier for you. I can see you're glad to have gotten this power, and if it makes you happy, then I'm happy with it too."
Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato nods. "Thank you, Haru. I was so worried about that - that you'd feel bad or something. You are really my truest friend and I don't knowwhat I'd do without you."
Haru Zinoro has posed:
"Why would I feel bad?" Haru asks. "You're happy again. That's good." A chuckle. "Did you think I'd be jealous?" He shakes his head. "No, Minoke-chan. I have my own kind of magic." He smirks, and turns a wink in her direction.
