Minoke Sato was a phenom at gymnastics. Some called her Firebird due to her long red hair and her acrobatic prowess. However... when she was doing an act on a trapeze when she was 10 - the cable snapped and she fell to her back. It didn't even hurt, but from that moment, she became parapelegic. Bound to a wheelchair, she withdrew into herself, doing the bare minimum to get by in school. Then her parents got her a choker with a chunk of onyx for her birthday - and - then it talked to her. Told her that it was named Swirling Vortex - and it could help her to fly. She listened and did what it said... and she transformed - and could fly once more. Firebird was reborn!
