This is dumb. He's supposed to be sleeping. Stupid cat. But he hadn't been able to get back to sleep. He hadn't wanted to worry Yoru, so he'd feigned sleep until he heard the feline Chara leave through a window. Then he'd gotten up, and had gotten an idea. Where he found the thing he bought is anybody's guess. And he probably wouldn't bother talking about it anyway.
Ikuto leans back in the back seat, crossing his arms over his chest. He looks to the thing sitting next to him on the seat, wrapped in green paper, and frowns. He hasn't spoken a word since he bundled up in his warm clothes and headed out to the taxi he'd called after Yoru had left the house.
On the way there, the driver, an older man who looks like he's seen better days, looks at the thing sitting next to Ikuto in the seat, and smirks a little. "Patchin' something up with your girlfriend?" he inquires.
"...No," comes the reply. But he doesn't elaborate. And the man doesn't seem intent to verbally prod him about it. Not now that he can see the look on the boy's face. That's the look of someone who's resolved to do something horribly unpleasant. Ikuto's gaze comes up as he notes the driver looking at him in the rearview mirror, and he scowls, turning his head to look out the side window. He pastes that unreadable look on his face and stays quiet for the rest of the ride.
When the taxi comes to the stop, Ikuto picks up the green-wrapped thing and places a hand on the door handle. "...Stay here. I won't be long." Without another word, he opens the door and steps out of the taxi.
Oh, he hadn't given the driver the actual address of the location, no. That would be stupid. He told the driver to stop at an intersection that's still pretty far away. It's going to be a bit, he doesn't have Yoru with him. But Ikuto's still pretty athletic, even without Yoru. He should be able to make it there, do what he needs to do, and then make it back before the meter runs too high.
When he makes it to the warehouse, he works quickly. He affixes the green-wrapped thing to the door with a bit of tape across its length. It's light, it should hold. And with that done, he turns away from the door and starts back to the taxi at a jog. Because it's cold out here. And because he doesn't want to get caught.
What did he leave on the door?
Wrapped in green floral tissue, its stem tucked into a water tube, is a single purple hyacinth.
