Takashi was, as he seemed to be so often, hunched over a table in his lab. This one wasn't full of beakers and chemicals, though - it was smooth metal and high-tech equipment, Belkan and Midchildan in origin mixed with top-shelf Earth electronics. It was his Device, Axion, in peices all over the table.
The most out of place addition to all of this was a pile of white feathers, large and somewhat distinctly not like a bird's. He took one in his hand and channeled dark energy into it, tinting the feather from pristine white to a dark grey.
The energy-airlock to his lab engaged, and Takashi continued to work on the feather pile until the door opened, revealing a raven-haired tall woman with a cape and eyes as blue as the oceans. "Yo." she said, waving a gloved hand at Takashi. "What are you doing there, anyways?" she inquired of him, coming to look at his project.
Takashi leaned back in a chair, looking over one of the now-grey feathers. "Making a crown." is the answer he finally decides on. "In a manner of speaking. It's... a winner's circlet for an upcoming contest." he adds.
Sailor Earth put her hands behind her back in a parade-rest style and walked around the lab. "You WOULD create an award for a contest you haven't yet won." she noted with a smirk. "Got anything to do with the dark energy cocoon in one of the containment cells?"
A smirk crept across his face, as well. "Well, the award helps me win it. A self-fufilling prophecy, one might say. And yeah, that's some servant of Clow Reed's with a bad attitude." he responded. "Anyways, how are you feeling?"
"I'm feeling great." She responded with a big, honest smile. "No offense but your lab is like, super-dreary. But when I can spend my days there I can feel it you know? Like, I feel alive. Real.... and I know a lot more about the past now. I've been noting it down, and I'll upload it to the UMBRA Network soon for you - but... thank you. The most important thing you told me... not to let thier past dictate my future." She put a hand on his shoulder. "And don't let your past control your future, either." She paused. "On that note, did you come up with a name for me? Something other than... his name. Or Sailor Earth. Something that can be mine."
Takashi laid the now-grey real feather inside a case that, when closed, looked like a steel feather, and attached it to a series of the others. "How do you feel about Mirai. For a first name, at least. It means..." and she cut him off.
"...I like it." Sailor Earth said. "It feels nice. Feminine. And like you were going to say, it signifies so much."
Takashi nodded, and kept to work. "You'll need a last name too, but Mirai... it's more than just a name. It's your name. It'll be the name that supplants Mamoru."
And at that, Mirai - Sailor Earth - the Puppet with a Soul - smiled.
