Date of Scene: | 28 February 2016 |
Location: | Uminari City - Midori-Ya Cafe |
Synopsis: | Reiko, Mikoto and Minoke talk about things. Crossaints, Boys, and Cats. |
Cast of Characters: | Reiko Touyama, Mikoto Nakajima, Minoke Sato |
- Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama is sitting here, at a table, with a large crossaint that appears to be filled with some sort of chocolate filling if the chocolate dotting the far end of it is any indication. She also has a bottle of milk that hasn't been opened yet.
She is not eating the crossaint but more staring at it- the look on her face seems to be between deep thought and the occasional wistful glance.
She reaches out slowly for the crossaint, but seems to stop halfway through the motion, as if her thoughts are distracting her something fierce as her lips purse.
- Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
Mikoto sweeps in, dressed in one of her usual highly fashionable outfits, a loose kimono-style top over a pair of snug-fitting jeans in complementing shades of blue and white. It's been a long day for her, and she's ready for a nice relaxing snack - some of the best pastries in the city can be had here, after all.
Which is why she's a little confused to see a face she recognize. Since that face is just sort of staring at the croissant, rather than eating it and whimpering in satisfaction.
She waves a hand at whoever is manning the counter - she'll order in a minute - and heads over to Reiko's table, pulling a seat out across from the girl and sliding into it, then pushing one out of the way to make space for Minoke's wheelchair.
"Hey there, neighbor. Something's got you down?"
- Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato rolls into the cafe, glad it's wheelchair accessible. She just came here to get some fersh bread - and then sees her good friend and mentor Mikoto consoling an orange-haired girl who is staring at her croissant. She rolls over there and sits down at the cleared space. "Hey Mikoto. Oh, hi - you ok? You look sad. I'm Minoke," she states, smiling softly, glancing at Mikoto, wondering if she's missing something.
- Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama looks down a bit and taps her chin as she sighs. She doesn't seem down persay, just in some sort of distracted thought. She blinks a bit, when she looks up and head tilts with a blink and a blush. "Oh...! Hi Mikoto-san." she says. "No... I'm fine!" she says with a short, sheepish smile.
"Just... have something on my mind..." she says with a blush as she huffs. "Maybe... you have some advice... I'm not sure.." she says as she frumps a bit as she suddenly puts her hand down to the crossaint and she brings it up to her mouth and takes a proper bite. It's a good pastry!
"Um... I kinda went from... loosing a crush, too-- um. Find two of them!" she says softly.
"..and they're both really nice people..." she says softly.
"..and I'm not gonna make the same mistake like I did with.. the last one... and wait... too long..." she mutters.
"But.. I can't really. Go for both... right? That'd be.. two timing!" she says with a huff as she crosses her arms.
She peeks over at Minoke, and smiles. "Hey... um. I'm Reiko Touyama." she says softly with a short bow.
- Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
Mikoto hmmms softly as she listens to Reiko tell her little tale. She doesn't ask for names - she has a suspicion, and if she's right, she's right, if she's wrong, she'd rather not embarass the girl further.
And the thought of two of them... she blinks and turns her head, casting a glance at Minoke, then the slightest blush appears on her cheeks and she hurriedly turns back to Reiko.
"Well," she muses. "First thing to consider, then, is... do they know each other? Do they know that you're, er, interested?"
And she needs some fortification to have this conversation. She waves over the hostess, asking for a slice of lemon meringue pie and a glass of milk for herself.
- Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato raises an eyebrow. "Kids are dating so young these days," she muses softly as she orders a small cinnaomin roll and a small milk. "Well, I don't know the situation but I'm sure that Mikoto can help - I have found her wisdom to be very helpful over the last few months..."
- Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama noms the crossaint. "Um... well." she says softly. "One called me Reiko-chan..." she mutters with a softer blush. "..and teases me a little.." she says softly. "..so I'd say.. I'm pretty sure." she blushes. "The other... gave me violets.. for my birthday.." she says. "So maybe.." she says softly. "I'm sure there's something there that I'm not just reading into too deep. They don't seem to mind being around me either..." she blushes.
"Mainly.. I just blush a lot at them and awkwardly babble cuz I'm flustered sometimes. But they don't seem to mind..." she mutters.
"They know each other, yes." she says, not going into specifics.
She frowns and shoots Minoke a /hard glare/ when she mentions her age... though she remembers a conversation about that, she bites her lip. "There's nothing with being eleven years old and dating..." she says softly.
- Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
Mikoto is not going to question the age issue. It is, frankly, none of her business. If Reiko has a crush, or a serious interest, she will not be the one to tell her it's wrong.
"It isn't about age, Minoke-chan. It's about love. Is either of us any better, any more mature? Sometimes I doubt it myself."
She flashes the hostess a smile as her pie and milk are delivered. Cuts a bite free from the pie, and eats it, while she considers what to tell Reiko.
So, they know each other, and they both seem to care about Reiko. That's good. "So... how do they feel about each other? Are they friends? Rivals? ... siblings?"
She reddens a bit, once again, at the last suggestion, and shakes her head. "Forget that last. Just being silly."
- Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato grins faintly, hmmmmmmming. "Do both people know that the other likes you?" she asks, smiling softly. "That could be a relevant part of the discussion," she muses as she finally gets her cinnamon roll and takes a bite. "Ahhhh, so good," she murmurs.
- Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama head tilts softly at Mikoto and blushes a bit with a huff! Oh my!
"Um... friends." she says. She nods matter of factly as she places her crossaint down and goes about opening her milk, unfurling that ring. She sighs a bit. "Yeah, that's right!" she says. "Just because... I like older guys... that's silly." she mutters. "To call me silly!" she says. "..it's not like.. i'm chasing guys I know have no intrest me.." she blushes.
"Or wouldn't..." she says.
"..and they're not THAT much older than me." she huffs!
"Right!" she says.
She looks at Minoke. "I don't know." she says. "..should I ask..?" she wonders. "Would that be weird..?"
- Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
Okay, so maybe it isn't who Mikoto thought it was. That's okay. (Or maybe it is, anyway. She's still not going to ask.) She deliberates over another bite of pie, and a swallow of milk.
"It ... might be," she agrees. "Two or three years is probably okay. More than that... It'd be a little weird."
She shrugs. "Anyway. Every romance story I come across, every problem that comes up, either happens, or is made worse, because people just plain won't talk to each other. They figure the other person already knows and doesn't care, or it'll scare them off, or some stupid stuff like that."
Yeah. A knight can be pretty blunt-spoken. Subtlety, thy name is not Nakajima, right this moment. "So, how're Ikiko and her friend doing these days? I haven't seen them since," she waves her hand, "You know."
- Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato shrugs. "Well - if you want to follow your heart, being honestly with both guys involved would help things." She shrugs. "I haven't really got myself involved in anyting since my accident until recently - and that's rather awkward..." she muses. "But I'm confident that I'll figure it out someday."
- Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama ohs! Ikiko and Ayana come up! "Ikiko-chan and Ayana-chan are perfect, actually!" she says softly. "Ayana is doing very well. It's nice, you know?" she says. "We... um. Fixed the lingering issue. It was an adventure of sorts." she says.
"Um..." she taps her chin.
She eyes Minoke and nods a bit matter of factly. "I guess you're right..." she frumps. "I guess I just need to figure out how to approach it." she sighs. "I guess it can't hurt to figure it out." she says as she taps her foot.
"Ugh, this is more complicated than my last crush... at least Tadase was just one boy." she blushes a bit. "I just waited too long." she melts, completely a bit into the chair as she huffs and crosses her arms.
- Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
Good news about Ikiko and Ayana is certainly a way to brighten Mikoto's day. "Glad to hear it! They deserve a chance to be happy, after all that happened to them. Tell them I said congratulations, and best wishes, and all that, would you?"
She takes another bite of pie while Reiko things, and talks to Minoke. And yes, proper romance isn't supposed to be easy. That's why the movies and books and stuff are so popular.
"Mmm, Tadase-kun's alright... gets a bit haughty now and then, but he's okay. I think he's got a girlfriend already, though, yeah." She reaches over to squeeze Reiko's hand briefly.
"Have faith in yourself, and your friends, Reiko-chan. If they're worth it, you'll find a way."
- Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato just smiles. "Hmmmmmm.... I feel a bit like a third wheel for I don't know any of your people - I was just gonna get a loaf of sourdough bread and saw my friend Mikoto." She smiles. "How are you today, Miko-san?"
She shoots a glance towards Reiko. "You should try taking a bite of your treat - it might help you feel better. Chocolate is the cure for many ailments."
- Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama shrugs at Minoke. "Sorry, I know Mikoto from some... things." she says. "--and I haven't seen her since some things happened!" she smiles wide. She nods a bit at Minoke. "That's all. The talk about... boys... is general talk." she mutters softly.
"She doesn't know anything about that." she mutters.
She blinks at Minoke. "Yeah... but. He didn't when I was intrested in him. I waited too long. My new years stunk." she sighs.
She peeks at Minoke and nods a bit, taking a bite of her pastry. "I came to try to clear my head but it isn't really helping." she sighs a bit and wilts.
"Just a lot on my mind." she says.
"--at least it hasn't been as overwhelming as it has been..." she mutters.
- Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
Mikoto nods. "We met a while ago, some stuff was going on... I was a little confused about what was happening at first, but I ended up helping them sort it all out. And now things are going great for everyone involved!" Including Riventon. Her definition of 'Great for Riventon' is a little odd, but then, that's what he deserves for abusing a familiar.
(And if Reiko's not going to spill the details, neither is she.)
"So, how's everything else going? Your other friends doing okay? How's school?"
- Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato smiles faintly then suddenly her phone rings. She picks it up, then blinks. 'Oh." She opens the phone. "Hi Mom - sorry, I was just talking to friends." She smiles. "Well, mom was needing this bread to finish dinner preparations. I hope to see you soon, Mikoto, and..." She grins. "Reiko-chan, I wish you luck with your dating situation. May you make the best choice for you." She then rolls to the counter and grabs the loaf of sourdough bread, then waves as she leaves.
- Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama beams and nods matter of factly! "Uh-huh!" she says softly. She smiles a lot as she peeks over to Minoke and smiles!
She nods and waves to Minoke as she takes off. "Take care, Minoke-san!" she says softly. She peeks back at Mikoto and ughs as she falls flat on her face. "...one of the guys is.. um. Magical." she mutters. "...he saw me dehenshin at my birthday party. Even though I'm still kind of a massive dork he still seems to like me." she says.
She wilts. "The other guy is.. just a normal person-- but he's also a very nice normal person and he runs a flower shop---and is as nerdy about flowers as I am about fish..." she giggles a little softly.
She sighs a bit. "So it's kind of complicated." she admits.
She closes her eyes and hangs her head. "Is it wrong to be enarmored with a handsome mysterious magical guy...?" she admits sheepishly.
- Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
Mikoto nods, and reaches up to give Minoke a quick, warm squeeze on the shoulder. "It's okay, Minoke-chan. Sometimes these things happen. Be well, okay?" She pauses a moment, watching the redhead leave.
"So long as it isn't Ikuto," she tells Reiko with an impish grin. "The heart makes its own choices. So I'm not surprised."
She takes another bite of pie as she takes in the mention of the flower-shop boy. "Are you sure he isn't a flower-shop ninja?" she teases. "I'd guess you're in pretty deep at this point, if you're agonizing this much about it."
- Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama makes a face at Mikoto. "Why would I want anything to do with that jerk cat!?" she frowns. She scrunches her face and looks down. "I'm sorry. I just.. that guy is a jerk, stealing dreams. He gave me some good advice one time but--" she wilts. "Still a jerk!" she huffs. "So you can have 'im!" she crosses her arms!
She huffs. "Besides.. I saw you with him before. That'd be mean of me even I /was/ intrested in him and if he wasn't older than be polite." she huffs.
"The guys I'm into... they're like thirteen or something. Not too much older than me." she says sheepishly.
She sort of awkwardly shifts in her chair. "That's right..." she says. "Ayana-chan... she." um. "She turned back into a fox, but started to remember some stuff anyways. We went to Inari-sama and we had to convience him to make her a kitsune. It was kind of scary but we did it!" she beams!
"So she's with Ikiko now! She still loves Riventon... and wants to save him. I guess... that's okay." she says. "...it's her choice now- he can't do anything to her now." she says crossing her arms firmly.
"And that's what matters most!"
- Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
"Yes, but he's my jerk. And he's missing. I haven't seen him in a couple of weeks, now. And all of a sudden these posters turning up..." She shakes her head. "I think I may need to take a closer look at things."
Thirteen and eleven seems like a workable combination to her, so she won't comment on it. "Remind me to make an offering at Inari's shrine, next time I get the chance, then. Im glad for them both."
- Reiko Touyama has posed:
Reiko Touyama manages to, finally, finish her crossaint- she infact, doesn't even notice because she reaches down to grab it and it's just... gone. She blinks and blushes. "Oh! I'm done!" she says as she blushes and huffs as she sighs and slowly gets up. "Well.. Mikoto, I outta... get back to getting home." she grumbles.
"Thanks for talking... sorry, if-- I went off on some awkward tangents." she blushes.
"Take care okay?" she asks with a smile.
- Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
Mikoto nods. "I should get going as well," she agrees. "Got a lot of projects waiting on me." She leaves some money on the table, more than enough to pay for both of us.
"It was good to see you again, though. And to hear the news about Ikiko and Ayana." She smiles warmly as she stands.
