Profile
There've been whispers about Seishi since she entered Verone Academy on scholarship for her first year of high school, after attending middle school at Seiyou. Much of the gossip centers around the disappearance of her mother several years ago, stories ranging from rumors that she was murdered to speculation that she simply abandoned her family for some reason. As for Seishi herself, those acquainted with her tend to agree that it often seems like there's something driving her.
What they don't realize is that Seishi is the reincarnation of a Sengoku-Era samurai, and leads a double life as the magical warrior Akashimaru, hunting the malevolent Eater of Dreams.

Rumors
In the absence of confirmed facts, it's only natural for people to speculate, and Seishi's been a subject of such speculation since her first year of middle school when her mother's disappearance caused her to miss quite a few days of school and come back with a noticeable change in her demeanor. Most of her former classmates from Seiyou middle school at least know of her and that she had some kind of family drama during that first year. Though a lot of the gossip has died down over time, there are still several stories circulating, depending on who you ask:
- Her mother abandoned her family and ran off somewhere, probably to go live with another man. This one is the story classmates were most likely to overhear their own parents discussing as the likeliest explanation for what really happened. Repeating it in Seishi's hearing resulted in at least one schoolyard fistfight during middle school. Bring it up at your own peril.
- Her mother was murdered, possibly for knowing too much about something illegal. Less plausible than the former story, but more exciting for middle school students to contemplate. Mrs. Tamashige did work as a reporter for a local newspaper.
- Her father is yakuza. This one's especially popular with Seishi's current classmates at Verone, owing to Mr. Tamashige's perpetually dour expression and presented as an explanation of what an apparently middle-class girl is doing attending a private school for the rich elite. It's not as prevalent a rumor among her old Seiyou classmates (some of whom can even remember that Mr. Tamashige wasn't always as grim and intimidating as he is now), and the more reasonable of Seishi's Verone classmates will note that it's public knowledge she's there on scholarship - but speculation persists all the same, extending to the possibility that Mr. Tamashige's purported yakuza involvement is related to Mrs. Tamashige's disappearance in some way.
