1503/Shopping spree!

Shopping spree!
Date of Scene:	23 May 2016
Location:	Uminari City - Shopping Strip
Synopsis:	Chloe goes shopping and runs into Mikoto, who brought along Yoru and Hikari. They all hang out getting outfits and food for themselves, and sharing with Yoru.

Chloe Stingray has posed:
    It's still the weekend, thankfully, and while classes are back in full swing, that doesn't stop Chloe from deciding to head to the shopping strip for a bit of a shopping day for herself, and perhaps a couple of her friends. but the inital thought was on her own. Thankfully, Chloe is actually starting to get the hang of the fact that Tokyo is one of the fashion hotspots of the world. Since she's pretty content to NOT be one of the strutting twits that thinks they're a fashion model, Chloe is simply going to look for clothes that she likes, and are comfortable.

Which means she's going to look like a total nerd.

That's when she actually gets to a shop near the entrance where she walked in. How about that....a shoe shop.

Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
    Fortunately for Chloe's budget, she isn't the only one who's decided to go shopping today. Mikoto has also decided on some retail therapy. Shoes aren't at the top of her own list - but Vicki told her about a really nice set of boots that were in this particular shop. So she's on her way in to check it out.

    She's come down by car, 'Uncle' John Reese providing transport via a nice black SUV, and letting her out at the edge of the mall. He's got some shopping to do, and Hikari is going with him to pick up some electronics, before rejoining the girls.

    She strides on up to the shoe shop, casting a look around for the boots Vicki had pointed her to, when she spots Chloe. She grins and waves cheerfully. "Hey, fancy meeting you here!"

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
Mikoto is not alone, either. She has a passenger with her, more specifically on her head! He's just laying flat on his belly on Miko's head, his own oversized head tilted back with his chin resting there. Like a living, feline beanie! "Hi there!" Yoru calls out, from atop Mikoto's head. On the bright side, Yoru does seem to be a little happier sice he's been staying with Mikoto, even with Ikuto still missing.

    "Hey Mikoto!" Chloe says as she's called. "Really didn't expect to see you here. I didn't think shopping was your 'thing'." She says walking her way over....then hearing Yoru and grinning. "And I see Yoru-chan has joined you too." She says idly petting Yoru's back. "Well...this is going to be more fun than I expected."

Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
    Mikoto would nod, but she doesn't want to dislodge her feline hat.

    "Oh, sometimes I just order what I want and have it delivered... makes it easier to get more lab time. Or flight time, depending on my mood. But some things have to be done in person."

    She waves a hand expansively at the shop around us, to offer it as an example. "Poorly fitting shoes are, to borrow a quote, the enemy."

Amu Hinamori has posed:
    Clip clop clip clop. This is the sound of sandals slapping on the floor, as Hikari rushes through the mall towards Mikoto. The svelte, silver-haired girl arrives at the shoe shop only a few minutes after Hikari, panting just faintly. "Sorry I took so long," she says as she finds Mikoto. Today, the girl is dressed in a pair of blue shorts, and a light, breezy white blouse, with long, semi-detached sleeves. "Uncle Reese had me carting something heavy into the car for him."

Anybody who knows Yoru knows he's all for pets! He emits a happy purr as Chloe pets him-- which Mikoto can probably feel, since he's on her head-- and pulls the happy cat face... both eyes closed and resembling upward-pointing arches, his mouth looking like the number 3 fallen over onto its side. Yoru says, "Lots of girls seem to like shopping a lot-nya. So I wanted to come see why." Mikoto's mention of shoes gets a 'Heh!' "That's why I'm glad I don't hafta wear shoes-nya!" His ears perk as he hears the slapping of the flipflops. "Hi, Hikari-chan," he greets.

Chloe Stingray has posed:
    "But sometimes, you have to experience the shopping anyways." Chloe says still petting Yoru. "Like what Miko-chan said." She then hears the clip clopping and tilts her head at Hikari. "hello there." She then looks to Mikoto with a tilt of her head. "Uhm.....she's new." She says softly.

Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
    Well, maybe new to Chloe. Hikari and Yoru have met before, and played a few games of chase-the-tail around the warehouse.

    "Oh, you haven't met Hikari-chan yet?" Mikoto smiles a little wider than before, reaching over to draw the silver-haired girl close. There's a certain family resemblance between the two girls, though Mikoto is a bit taller, and darker of hair and eye.

    "Chloe, this is Hikari. Officially, my sister, though there's quite a bit more to it than that." She winks and adds, in a low voice so as not to be overheard, "Remember our discussion on Familiars?"

    And of course the return introduction. "Hikari-chan, I've told you about my friend, Chloe, right? She's one of us." In other words, a Mage, or a Knight, like Mikoto.

    Introductions made, she reaches up to scritch Yoru briefly.

Amu Hinamori has posed:
Hikari--smiling and about to wave to Yoru--looks a bit startled at being pulled into a sudden hug. Nevertheless, the silver-haired girl gathers her wits and hugs Mikoto back almost immediately. As soon as she's freed from the embrace, Hikari offers a bow to Chloe. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Chloe-san," she says, somewhat formally. "Mikoto has only told me a little about you, but everything she has said is favorable."

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
Yoru mainly stays quiet as Mikoto introduces Hikari to Chloe. He's not the best at that kind of social stuff, and he didn't realize that Chloe and Hikari hadn't met yet. Besides that, CHloe's still petting him. And then yay, more scritches! This time from Mikoto. Yoru pulls happycat face again, and purrs happily. This is pretty much heaven for a cat-- all he needs now is for someone to start feeding him fish!

    "It's good to meet you as well." Chloe says to Hikari. She notices Mikoto petting Yoru and chuckles as she pulls her hand back. Hearing Mikoto's comment, Chloe raises an eyebrow before looking to Hikari....and even looking her over a bit before shakes her head with a smirk. "Well...this is what I get for having my mind in D&D when you mention this stuff." She says softly. "I'm never going to get used to living in a fashion capital. All of these outfits they're selling here are going to make me feel fat."

Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
    Mikoto releases Hikari from the hug with a brief kiss to the cheek. "You should know there's a reason for everything, Chloe-chan."

    She paces over towards one of the displays, spotting the boots she was looking for, and begins to sort through them looking for the right size.

    "As for things making you look fat, you just need the right tailoring."

Amu Hinamori has posed:
"Or to accept that it doesn't matter what other people think," Hikari suggests, as she reaches up to try and steal Yoru from Chloey so she can pet the little cat on the head. From a pocket in her shorts, she produces a little fishy treat and tempts Yoru with it.

Yoru doesn't know much about clothes, it's true. But he does know one thing. When Chloe mentions clothes making her look fat, he says sagely, "Those dresses that look like sacks make anybody look fat. Don't wear sacks, they're not very slimming." Nod! And then there is a fishtreat! Hikari may not need to steal Yoru, in fact, he'll probably be pouncing at that treat!

Chloe Stingray has posed:
    "Unless said sack is on your body tightly, then it's flattering. I still feel fat." Chloe says with a laugh, before she starts to look around. "Ah...there was a pair of boots, shoes and sandals I wanted to get from here, mostly cuz boots are cheap this time of year, shoes for school and sandals due to the hot weather coming." She says quietly. "As much as I'd like to fit in with all of these 'fashionistas' around here....my grandparents and I don't have the budget for it."

Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
    Mikoto is, herself, one of the aforementioned 'fashionistas', and she's been waiting for the chance to help her colleagues out in that special way. She's known for it, and for not being as much of a jerk about it as some of her classmates.

    It's one of the reasons she left Verone.

    "Well, don't worry about budget. Worry about fit, and style, and comfort. Let me worry about budget." Looking good is a lot easier when you're Filthy Rich, after all.

Amu Hinamori has posed:
Hikari grins as she catches Yoru out of the air and gently ruffles the kittychara atop his head. Then she places Yoru on her shoulder and produces another fishy treat before turning to regard Mikoto and Chloe again. "More shoes?" she asks amusedly. "Miko, your closet's already full," she points out.

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
Headruffles and fishy treats! Yoru happily eats the treat, and then hangs onto Hikari's shoulder with his front paws. It keeps him out of her ear, since he's exactly the right size that would be a problem otherwise. He does agree with Mikoto, though! "That's right-nya! If you like the way it looks and feels, it oughta be OK. Besides, people who have bad things to say about it are probably just jealous-nya!"

Chloe Stingray has posed:
    Chloe can't help but chuckle. "All right. Lets see what we can do then, if I'm really going to be on a shopping spree." She then looks to Mikoto. "I'm not really all that worried about fashion though, just what's comfortable. And I'm a bit of a nerd." She then shrugs as she finds the shoes she was looking for. "Here they are. Whoa! I didn't know they still sold L.A. gears here! Seems the company is still in business. I loved those shoes."

Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
    "Yoru's right, you know," Mikoto assures Chloe. "Ninety percent of the catty remarks are to cover their own insecurities."

    She finally finds the boots she was looking for, in the right size, and pulls them out to try them on. They seem to fit like a glove, and she stands up to walk around in them. Two-inch heels give her walk a bit of a sway, but she seems to have some experience dealing with heels.

    "How do these look?" she asks, then winks at Hikari. "That's why I have the warehouse. Infinite closet space."

Hikari finds a place to sit and wait--on the ground, legs crossed, arms behind her for support. She nuzzles Yoru gently with her cheek right up until Mikoto asks her for an opinion. Then, she turns to regard the dark-haired girl curiously. "Mmmm. Fancy, powerful, flexible. Don't run in them, though," she notes. "I'm sure you could, but I don't think they have enough support for your ankle."

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
"Hehe." This is to Mikoto's mention of 'catty' comments. "That right-nya! Yoru, expert in all things catty!" He raises a hand-paw into the air, pointing upward triumphantly! As for the L.A. Gears? "American clothes are all the rage," Yoru observes. "I wonder if some of these guys know what's actually written on that shirt they're wearing-nya?"

Oh but he's getting nuzzled too! Face-nuzzlies! He turns to headbutt Hikari's nuzzling cheek lightly. Not to hurt her, but like cats do, just an idle sort of tap with his forehead.

Chloe Stingray has posed:
    Chloe chuckles at Yoru. "Most guys don't even know what they're wearing half the time." She says as she watches Mikoto walk with the boots. "They do look nice on you, Miko-chan." she then looks to Hikari. 'only if she ran on her toes. But those sort of boots, I would NOT want to run in."

Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
    Mikoto snorts. "If I have to run in these, I'll just fly." Part of her motto: When in doubt, cheat. "It's faster, anyway."

    She winks over at Hikari and Yoru. The two look so cute like that. "Now, Hikari here, she's a winter. Pale skin, silver hair, slender build... She looks good in blues, subtly shadowed whites, medium greys. Cool colors."

    She takes a look over Chloe, then nods. "You... black is classic, and would go well. Warmer colors, aside from that. Pure whites would look good."

Hikari beams at Yoru's headbutt, and the girl begins to purr--not just a fakey human purr, but an honest-to-god cat purr. How that is possible is anyone's guess ... or perhaps everyone will know, given her nature. "Mmmmmmhhh, I do like blues and purples," she mumbles, "and greys. I think Chloe would look good in muted reds," she notes, then asks, "Are we buying clothes, today, too? Or just shoes?"

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
Yoru laughs at Chloe's assessment of people not knowing what they're wearing half the time. "Some don't have to worry about bein' pretty-nya," he surmises. He may not know that's Mikoto's motto, but he does have the same one himself. "Anything that's faster! Besides, if something's got Mikoto needing to be faster than she can run, it's probably somethin' she'll have to shoot in the face anyway-nya." Mikoto's assessment of the kinds of colors Chloe and Hikari would look best in gets a headtilt. He's not quite sure how that works. He is also aware that Hikari is purring. Enough that he tilts to rest his chin on her shoulder while he hangs on, his eyes closing to slits. Cats do react to other cats' purring.

Chloe Stingray has posed:
    "Warm colors, huh? And to think, Blue is my favorite color." Chloe then starts to put the shoes back in the box, and starting for a pair of sandals....mostly open toed ones, and a pair of black boots. With a normal sized heel. She has no experience walking in stilettos. She heads for the register.

*SHOPPING MONTAGE!!!*

Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
    "Hmmm, you could go with a medium blue," Mikoto muses, as she hands the cashier her card. "It's all on me today."

    Once the shoes are paid for, it's off to more stores! Shirts, dresses, slacks, shorts... it's all out there to choose from. Eventually Mikoto assembles an outfit for her, with a set of tight-fitting jeans, and a loose, flowing silk blouse in a blue just a bit darker than sky-blue. "Now, see, this is a tomboy with style."

While Mikoto is busy feeding her need to shower her friends in gifts, Hikari vanishes into the racks of clothes with Yoru. The little catboy gets another fishy treat from her pocket, but the silver-haired catgirl is distracted, herself, pawing through skirts and dresses and shorts and shirts curiously in hunt of something for herself.

After a moment she pulls out a pair of white jean shorts and a boat-necked teeshirt with a picture of an anime catgirl, kneeling on the ground legs-spread, eyes closed as she listens to music on headphones specially designed for her ears. She holds both up to her chest and waist and peers in a mirror. "Whatcha think, Yoru?" she asks curiously. "Can I pull off catgirl casual?"

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
Yoru is... not there when Hikari looks. Because at not too long ago, he got distracted, too! A rack of ribbony hair charms looked like such a wonderful thing to jump into and start flailing his hand-paws to bat at things... there are even BELLS on some of them!

But he's easily found, considering he's managed to get himself tangled in the ribbons. Easily found, because he's raising a ruckus. "Ack! Lemme goooo, you stupid ribbons-nya!" Flail flail bat bat. To the shoppers who can't see him, the rack of ribbons and hair charms probably looks like it's possessed or something.

Chloe Stingray has posed:
    Chloe can't help but look at herself in the mirror, even looking at herself in different angles. "I actually feel....beautiful, Mikoto. Are you sure this is okay? I wouldn't want to get you in trouble." She says as she actually takes her hair down from a ponytail.....and her hair reaches the middle of her back. And wouldn't you know it? She's blushing.

Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
    Mikoto nods. "You see? Trust Auntie Miko, she'll take good care of you." Indeed, she has no hesitation about paying for everything involved, including a second pair of the jeans and a couple of extra blouses, one in a medium green and one in a deep burgundy red.

    She looks around briefly for Hikari and Yoru, to see what they've gotten up to, and since they've gotten up to the counter she quickly spots the chara trapped in amongst the bells and ribbons.

    Once the credit slip is signed, she goes to his rescue, if Hikari hasn't already gotten him out by then. "You really should stay with one of us, Yoru-chan. That helps make sure these things don't happen."

Hikari turns confusedly when Yoru doesn't offer an opinion, then blinks in surprise. A pair of fluffy white cat-ears perk up involuntarily through her hair, as she peers at Yoru trapped in bells. "Ah ... ah! Yoru!" she says, dropping the clothes to the ground as she rushes to the little catboy's aid.

Problem: those are still bells, and she is still a cat. Reaching in to try and get him out, Hikari winds up ringing one of the bells by accident. Then another. THen it's not an accident. Jingy jingy jingy.

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
"Ne, stop playing with the bells, Hikari... I'm stuck-nyaaaa!" Yoru whines, squirming around. Jingly jingly jingly! The bells make happy, bright sounds as he squirms, as if mocking his useless struggles! Fortunately Mikoto's less distracted by ribbons and bells than Yoru and Hikari are. He's extracted from the ribbons, and he kind of flops onto Mikoto's hand. "Gah! Those things are dangerous-nya!" Though his ears flatten a little when Mikoto chides him for getting separated. "I know... but the ribbons!" They do kind of sway in a kind of appealing way.

    Chloe laughs at Yoru once he's tugged free from the bells and ribbons. "tell you what, Yoru. Since Mikoto's been so generous to me, how about I be generous to you guys? Lunch is on me." She then looks to Mikoto. "Thanks, Miko-chan. I don't think I know how to repay you for this." She then looks to Hikari and giggles. 'and she's stuck on the bells too."

Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
    Mikoto smiles and holds back a laugh as she reaches out to tap Hikari on the shoulder. "Hey, hey, imouto." She carefully untangles one of the bells and adds it to the pile being paid for. "Focus, okay?"

    She reaches out and takes Yoru, setting him on her shoulder, and offering him a bit of jerky from a pouch she habitually keeps, now. There are, after all, not one but two felines in her life.

    She adds a few other items, for herself, and a couple for Hikari as well - a pair of black capri pants and a grey midriff top, with a shirt to hang open over it. "What do you think of this one, hm?"

The tap on the shoulders brings Hikari out of her playful distraction, but only just. Her fluffy cat-ears perk up, and she turns to face her mistress-slash-older-sister. She blinks in confusion and turns towards Mikoto, then remembers, "Yoru! Is h--oh there he is," she says, spotting the little catboy on her shoulder. She smiles, then looks at the items Mikoto's showing her.

"Wh? Oh! Hey, I found something I think I like," Hikari says, then rushes back to the shirt and shorts she found earlier. A moment later she returns and holds them up against herself for display. "Think I can get these?"

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
Want to earn Yoru's trust? Feed him. Pretty much typical feline. And possibly typical guy. But yes. Chloe's words of lunch get a smile out of him, and he definitely feels better. "Ooh! Yeah, that sounds good. All this shoppin' makes me hungry-nya!" he declares. Let's overlook the fact that he wasn't really shopping. He boards Mikoto's shoulder when indicated, and then gives a happy "Nya!" at the offered beef jerky! Nibble! When Hikari 'wakes up' Yoru snickers. He can't really fault her for it, though; he does that too sometimes. OK, a LOT of times!

Chloe Stingray has posed:
    Chloe smiles at Yoru. "Sure...after Mikoto gets those for Hikari since she wants them so badly." She giggles at Hikari as she hooks her thumbs into her pockets. She feels.....natural like this, and even feels a little pretty, even confident. So, to keep the feel goods going, she starts to pet Yoru........

Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
    "Of course, Hikari-chan. Not a problem at all. Chloe, did you have a second outfit you wanted to pick up?" She leans into Chloe, letting Yoru hop over to the other girl if he wants, and gets out her credit card again.

    Her own choice is leather pants, black and buttery soft, that when she tries them on fit perfectly. "I've just got to have these." She picks out a matching skirt, as well, cut to fall just above her knees.

    "So, once all this is done, what do we want to do for lunch?"

Hikari cheers a little when she's allowed the outfit she's found, and she quickly drops it into Mikoto's arms for buying. At the question of lunch, the catgirl glances at Yoru, grins, and suggests, "Sushi?"

Ikuto Tsukiyomi has posed:
Yoru purrs at the petting from Chloe. He does indeed fly over to Chloe's shoulder, to make pettings easier. Mikoto's question draws Yoru's attention, and he looks up. Hikari answers, and then Yoru grins. "Sounds good-nya!" Says one of the cats in the group, right? Though Yoru could be happy with meats and chocolates!

Chloe Stingray has posed:
    So they all leave the shop, with shopping bags in hand, chatting away and having a rather wonderful time. Chloe's actually smiling as she walks along with Mikoto, and Hikari. At the middle of all of it, is Yoru. being a friend to all of them might be tough, but Yoru seems to be able to know how to purr his way out of trouble when he causes it.

Hikari is able to get an outfit for herself as well, and she carries her own bag as they head for a sushi shoppe. CHloe pays for everyone's dishes, as promised, and they all enjoy their food. CHloe even makes it a point to buy a dish for Yoru so he can eat along with them.

It was an excellent day.
