- Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
It's friday night, and Mikoto is at her warehouse-turned-secret-lab. Well, not so secret, these days, considering a few people do know about it.
Unlike so many evenings at the lab, however, she is not engrossed in one or another of the various bits of Midchildan tech scattered about the workbenches. Instead, she's resting on the couch, feet up, boots off and lying next to the footstool. Watching some sort of movie on the big-screen TV.
Indeed, it looks like she's finally relaxed a bit from that obsessive focus on her projects. Rumors that Hikari, her Familiar, plied her with chocolate, ice cream, alchohol, or some combination thereof with other, less scrupulous temptations, are most certainly simply scandal-mongering. No, she's just tired of being upset all the time.
On the screen, space-fighters whiz by, engaged in a complex, swerving dogfight, and Mikoto pops a bit of popcorn in her mouth as she watches.
- Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato rolls into the warehouse, having called ahead. Just Minoke this time - she turned off the magic. Just... a normal girl. She rolls in with her power wheelchair, heading in your direction. "What'cha watchin, Miko-san?" she asks as she heads in your direction. "Don't think I recognize this one."
- Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
A wave of a hand, and the movie is paused, a laser blast frozen in mid-shot on the screen as Mikoto turns to greet her visitor. "Hey there, kohai. Been a while. Hope you're doing well?" She waves for you to come over and join her.
"Little Star Wars fan-film some folks in America I know made. Supposed to be a 'young Han Solo' thing. That's him in the not-quite-an-X-Wing, there." The fighter - a Z-95 Headhunter to any Star Wars otaku watching - is chasing something that looks like a TIE fighter that's been squished underfoot. "Soda 'n stuff in the fridge, if you want it."
- Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato nods. "It hasn't been that long - I... I needed a break to find myself. all this magic - I was losing sight of... me." She smiles faintly. "... that guy is supposed to be Solo? He doesn't look anywhere near as cute as Ford in the classic Star Wars movies..." She shrugs. "I'm going to try to get more involved again... just some nonmagic time - to be with my parents... friends at schol... and more..."
- Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
"It's true, you can't really beat the original. But you can still make a good story." She settles in to watch as the fighter duel continues, Han victorious over several enemies as he zooms down to the planet and a welcome from a cute girl.
"Yes... I wish my own family was that close. My father... well. The only conversation I've had with him that was more than three sentences, in the last six months, was a lecture about my grades." She sighs and shakes her head. "Let's stay off of depressing stuff, though. Glad you're feeling better, it's good."
- Minoke Sato has posed:
Minoke Sato nods. "Yeah... I'm doing better." She smiles as she just reaches over to take your hand while we're watching the movie. "So... ummm...." she murmurs. "We can... after the movie, want to go do something, maybe?"
- Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
Mikoto clasps your hand, briefly, but warmly. "Mmm. Yeah, I need to get out of this place more often. Too much stuff dragging me into obsessing again. What'cha got in mind?" She squeezes Minoke's hand again, then offers her the popcorn.
