Cast of Characters: | Shiori Sato, Takashi Agera, Lena Reiniger, Haruna Kurosawa, 94, Mikoto Nakajima, 105 |
- Tin Roof Sundae (94) has posed:
It's night, and the harbor is quiet. A couple is sitting on the edge of the pier, a lady walking her dog is sitting on a nearby bench, and a college student is sweeping the area in front of a stall, cleaning up after a busy day. None of them with any magical potential, just nameless civillians going about their way.
In the sky, strange lights appear. These, actually, do have magical power to them. Their signal is unmistakably that of Lost Logia, but unlike before they aren't sending out any distress signals or holographic messages. Three of them might even be recognizable to their previous owners: Sealing Chains, first claimed by Lena Reniger. Labyrinth Architect, claimed by Fate Testarossa and then Arf. Rising Crash, claimed at first by Guardian Hino, then passed to Mamoru Chiba and then stolen by Riventon. The other two are unknown, their powers yet unseen.
The five lights all begin to orbit each other in a circle, and as civillians look up they begin to comment and point at the lights. A moment passes, and then a huge magical event happens, sending a wave of searing magical flame all over the area. The pier is set on fire, the sand is glassed, and the sky darkens. The people here, who were just out on a casual stroll, are all knocked out.
If someone was looking for the Lost Logia, or were otherwise in the area, the sudden spike of magical energy given off by that blast might very well give away their position.
Something very powerful is coming from the space between those five Lost Logia.
- Lena Reiniger has posed:
It was sudden, and she's not really sure how it happened, though she suspects her sealing wasn't as perfect as it could have been. She never bothered to study sealing magic in any great detail. She's a warrior, not a janitor, after all! But whatever the case, the Lost Logia she had managed to secure is missing from the place she'd hidden it away. This, much to Lena's complete annoyance, is preventing her from having a wonderful night of not doing anything. She's been looking for the blasted thing since before the Sun went down and while the traces of it are there, it's hard for her to follow so getting there is slow going.
Of course the direction Ascalon is pointing her toward just happens to, at that very moment, become awash with magical energy that she wouldn't have even needed to be paying attention to notice. Of course it doesn't help that from the position she's holding above the city, she can see plainly exactly where it is.
<Vier Signale erkannt! Inwieweit sich die anderen Seeds ist hoch!> Ascalon chimes in, voice unusually panicked for a device that doesn't really understand what it means to be in a panic.
Lena, on the other hand, looks about as white as a sheet when she recalls the message that came with that first Seed. She'd tried to get the others. She'd failed completely. Somewhere looming over her shoulder she can feel her father judging her for her poor performance, but those thoughts are pushed aside as her pace quicks. "No, no, no, no! I'm not going to let this happen!" She cries out, a violet beam of light shooting through the sky toward the burning pier.
- Takashi Agera has posed:
Riventon is soaring through the sky. And he's rather upset. After all of the work he went through to acquire this device, now it's leaving on it's own volition? It's a tool, a piece of equipment, how can it possibly be? And apparently, the device Fate acquired too? There has to be some person, some entity at the center of all of this, or at least an equivilent intelligence.
And he's going to find that intelligence and bash or beat it, as appropriate, for the crime of trying to take something of his - especially when he already took it first!
==Unexpected magical power surge, located in the vicinity of Rising Crash.== his device reports.
Riventon's following the escaped artifact close enough to visually witness that flame ray. That's the sort of power he's been trying to coax out of the artifact to begin with. He lands relatively close by. He's definatnly prepared to battle whoever, or whatever, has caused all of this mess.
- Shiori Sato has posed:
Shiori had been doing his homework when he'd felt that large spike of magic. That probably wasn't good, whatever it was. He'd quickly changed and headed for the source of the problem. He didn't know anything about Lost Logia, since he hasn't really been keeping up with the situation. Between learning about his own powers, the situation with the Eater of Dreams, and Seishi's warning, he's been pretty busy.
But whatever's going to happen here is going to happen, and he's here for it. For the time being Shiori, in the guise of the light blue-haired ninja boy, stands atop the roof of a building at the harbor, surveying the damage. Not being able to fly, he'd missed the initial magical blast that had caused the damage.
Lena's voice draws his attention and he looks towards it. She sounds like she knows what's going on. But there's things to be done first. People are knocked out, and if they stay near the fire, they're going to get hrut. So that's his first order of business, trying to get unconscious civilians to safety.
- Yurei Shisha (105) has posed:
Yurei was in a warehouse by the pier, cause someone thought it was cursed, or had a ghost, or some other such thing. So he was there to see if it was true and if so, purify the ghost and make the place clean and holy again, always a job to do when in the service to people and Deities.
But, suddenly there's strange lights from outside, and then noises and after that the whole place is on fire, what is going on out there! He quickly finds a doorway and bolts outside to look around, then looking up towards the strange lights in the sky. Having no idea what it is, it could be clearly two things. It's either some Deity decending to earth from the heavens to punish them all, or aliens. He's not sure which, and is sure he doesn't want to know either as both sound just as dangerous and scary.
But whatever is going on, he can't just run away and hide, for he knows he has to do those things that come with responsibility like stopping monsters, defending various life, and doing what he can to ensure the evil doesn't escape and blanket the world in darkness once again.
- Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
Mikoto was just out doing some shopping. Milk, soda, chicken, eggs, mayonnaise, bread, rice... all the necessities for a week of cooking for yourself. Somehow she actually manages to find time to cook, too. Probably doesn't get much sleep.
And then everything decided it was time to drop in the pot. She swears to herself and drops the groceries. Stepping into an alley for a quick henshin, she leaves flying out the far end, soaring into the sky and arcing a course towards the emergency.
She really can't afford to let something like this go un-addressed. Especially after how many Lost Logia have been turning up lately. It's likely to get very messy.
- Haruna Kurosawa has posed:
"The hope that soars across the sea...Cure Gull!" and with that, Haruna transforms because Corvus was almost knocked unconcious from that magical hit. He even has a tiny ice pack against his head for that one. She arrives through the air in a streak of Seafoam green. She wonders what it could be. Queen Mirage...? No. Kami-sama said she barely ever set foot on Earth, and if she ever did, there would be a good reason for it. This has gotta be something else.
She stops being a strek of green light before she reforms...and continues normal flight.
"Corvus...what could it be?" she asks. Corvus sighs. Migraine. "I don't know Gull." he says softly.
She'll be arriving soon!
- Tin Roof Sundae (94) has posed:
As magical warriors approach, they can clearly see what's happening. In the middle of the five Lost Logia, a flash of orange appears. A bright orange magic circle expands from the center of the five artifacts, spreading to encompass the five of them and a good 20 to 30 meter radius beyond them.
The magic circle is very intricate in design, weaved together by glowing orange lines that curve along the arc of the circle and occasionally intersect with each other. Letters are written on the rim of the circle, some of them in multiple languages, at least one of those is Japanese. Those who are close enough to read them can tell that they spell "WARNING! DANGER!" and other such dire portents.
here are five emblems on the circle, lines surrounding hollow space. One by one, each emblem appears on a seperate Lost Logia, magical power being drawn out of the Lost Logia and into the giant circle. The hollowed out emblems are filled one by one, and as each reaches its capacity it shatters into flakes of magic. Once the last emblem shatters, a portal opens in the middle of the circle.
Descending from the portal is a vision of beauty. She seems almost serene, closed eyes, smiling, as she floats down from the portal wreathed in fire. Bright orange hair falls over her shoulders, splayed across her white flowing cloth-like barrier jacket. Flames pour out from the red trim around the jacket. In her hands is a strange Device. It almost looks Midchildian. It's a white staff with a golden head and red-orange wings of magical fire pouring out of the neck.
Of the two of them, the device is the first to speak. <Target Confirmed>
The serene woman opens her eyes. Her smile is just a bit too bright. "Dear TSAB-administered world." Is this one of those? No, not really, but she doesn't seem to care. "My name is Koto Miata. You probably don't know me, but that's alright. The TSAB rarely pays attention to the ones it hurts."
Her cheerful grin turns into a frown. "I'm here to punish you for the sins of the TSAB. You cannot stop this. You have a moment to come to terms with your fate. I suggest you spend your last moments wisely."
She holds up her staff. "Seed of Sunrise, you know what to do."
The staff pings in response. <Sunrise Mode>
An impossible amount of energy is being gathered within that staff. It's insane. Within seconds it could clearly threaten the city... but the energy gathering doesn't stop there. It doesn't ever slow down. Just how much power is she gathering?!
- Lena Reiniger has posed:
When she finally touches down, she isn't too far away from Akahana. Looking over to him all she can do is give a nod. If her face were visible, there'd be an expression most grim on it. She'd have helped him evacuate civilians, but her attention is probably best given elsewhere--that growing magical circle, to be exact. "Ascalon... is it as bad as it feels?" She asks, a quiver in her voice. She'd felt it so far away, now here, being under it, Lena can't help but feel her legs shaking just a bit, as though all the will to fight were being sucked out of it. How is she suppose to handle something like this? And she's sure this isn't even the half of it!
<Unmoeglich zu magischen Ausgang messen> comes the very matter-of-fact words from her device; words that in all honesty she had been expecting to hear.
Her voice is loud, probably loud enough for more than just Akahana to hear if they could be so bothered to listen in on people around everything that's happening. "Once you've secured the civilians, be ready for anything!" In fact, as if in response to her, something comes from that circle. Some... one? Lena's actually surprised. This is not what she had been expecting to come from all of this. She briefly looks down at her device. There's a mental conversation happening there between them before she finally nods. She's going to begin approaching this new person, this Koto Miata. It's slow at first, but the moment she speaks up and the moment that energy starts building in her device, Lena is understandably moving a bit faster to get within range to converse.
She's not sure who this is, after all, the message from the Lost Logia she held was old. Before her time with the TSAB at least. Even so, she needs to maybe talk her out of whatever she's planning to do? "Miss Koto Miata!" She finally calls out, helm vanishing from her armor so they can have a face to face. "I am Lena Reiniger, first lieutenant in the TSAB naval force." Somehow Lena's certain she's just signed her own death certificate with that announcement. "I would speak with you, to prevent undo harm from befalling Unadministrated World 97." Where's Lindy when she's needed. Lena's no diplomat!
- Shiori Sato has posed:
Assuming there is no resistance to getting the civilians out of harm's way, Akahana should have them out of the way momentarily. Though that won't help if that... person? Well if she destroys everything, that's not going to help much. Still, getting them out of the way of immediate danger is a priority.
When he returns, he listens to Lena's words, offering a nod in return. But at the explanation from the woman who entered from the portal? He frowns. There's no talking that woman down. He can see that already. And with that degree of magical power, what can he really do? Probably not a whole lot.
But Lena seems to think talking is an option. So for now, Akahana waits, though he pulls a pair of kunai from the air behind him. Just because he's not attacking doesn't mean he's not going to be ready.
- Yurei Shisha (105) has posed:
Yurei looks up as the orange lights happen, as the weirdness just compounds itself over and over and then a woman descends from on high with a staff and saying strange things about whatever a TSAB is and clearly meaning to destroy the world. So he was right, she's a pissed off Deity or an alien, at the moment that doesn't seem to matter as she's clearly going to do bad things and he can't let that happen.
He sighs, pulls out an Ofuda and well good thing he has some on him and hopefully more then enough, cause he just knows this is gonna end up in a fight, Deities always love to fight. Then he notices Lena walking up to her, the heck is she doing, doesn't she know this is crazy and dangerous, it can't end well and will most likely end up with bruises and things. He moves slowly closer towards the circle and the floating woman, perhaps maybe she can be reasoned with.
He himself doesn't have any of that fancy stuff the others have, just his priest garbs, some Ofuda and his scared wits, but he'll do what he can, cause that's all he can do. Well if Lena can't talk her out of anything, maybe he can, or maybe he'll just get his self incinerated and baked like the rest who is to say.
- Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
Yyyyyyep. That's the kind of thing we call Bad News. Mikoto scowls as she hears the announcement. The TSAB? She's got nothing to do with them. Heck, she's barely even -heard- of them. They didn't exactly exist when Carnwennan was last in use, and that's where she gets most of her information and training from.
Mikoto zooms up towards Koto, sword held back at her side so as not to seem threatening, the ancient Belkan device gathering its own power and scanning the portal, the Logia, and the new visitor. With any luck she can find -some- tidbit to help deal with this little problem....
- Haruna Kurosawa has posed:
Corvus lets out a shriek. "Caw!?". Yes, he reverted to birdsound for a moment. It's a rare moment. It's when Gull knows something serious is going down. She frowns a bit...some pretty girl comes out. And she's wide eyed... but. Then she says things. Awful things. She hovers on downwards....
She listens to Lena's speak. She's heard the term TSAB before. Just. Not what it means. She's been spending too much time reading Virtue archives recently. But she knows about devices that speak to the user. Hannah-Chan has one.
"H-hey! Can't we talk this out!?" she tries to plead.
Corvus would say something if he wasn't struggling so hard just to keep conciouness on Gull's shoulder.
"What's wrong...?" she tries to ask.
- Takashi Agera has posed:
Riventon stands up, walking forward. He's standing at least as brazenly as this 'Koto Miata' is floating, and he's got his hand raised, palm open, ready to attack. "I don't know who you think you are, but the only sin that's going to be punished today is your theft of my artifacts!" Riventon shouts. The fact that he stole the same artifacts is irrelevant. There's a huge difference between 'stole from anyone else' and 'stole from ME' in his mind.
==Warning! Incredibly large energy is being focused!== Axion reports in her strangely soft voice. "I know that, that's why I want it!" he responds, a bit snarkily.
He lets the others gathered here say their peace before he adds. "I suggest you stand down, or I will be the force that backs up everyone's words." There's a small part of him that hopes she doesn't. He hasn't yet had a really good brawl with his new power.
"But know now - I won't hesitate to destroy you if you threaten me - and that includes my planet." That's right, not the planet he lives on, not the planet... HIS planet.
- Tin Roof Sundae (94) has posed:
Koto Miata's bright golden eyes fall upon Lena. A cold stare, like one from a disappointed mother, is the expression that Koto wears when addressing her. "You openly admit to be a part of the TSAB, yet you claim that this is an Unadministered World? Impossible. I cannot believe that. There are many signs of TSAB presence on this planet. I can tell no matter what you do to hide it."
Koto raises the Seed of Sunrise above her head, and all of that stored energy pours out of the device, becoming a huge, ever-growing ball of flame in the sky. The light it gives off is bright enough to turn night into day. The sphere itself is far enough above Koto and the others gathered to stop her, but it's soon huge enough to cover half the harbor, and it's only growing still!
"I'm afraid that begging for your life will not help you, Lieutenant Reiniger. I am firm in my decision. Please make your peace with this."
Koto watches for a moment as Akahana pulls the normals out of the way. She shakes her head. "A noble effort. Tragic that such nobility was absent at the time of Mira's death. I'm sorry to say that it doesn't matter how far away you take them."
Yurei approaches, and Koto says, "You're very brave to approach me with so few defenses."
Mikoto's scans provide problematic information. Mostly, there's too much power pouring out of the Seed of Sunrise to get a clear reading for most normal devices. However, there are some things that can be read. The temperatures coming off of that magical sphere of fire are climbing to hundreds of degrees, no more like the thousands, and it's only a powerful magical barrier surrounding the sphere that keeps it from incinerating everything around. What's more: there's a magical process happening inside the sphere that seems to be setting up for something very large and dangerous. It's begining to look more and more like a fusion reactor.
the staff itself, though pouring out with power and coupled with very strong defenses, may be the only attackable point. The woman, Koto Miata, is apparently little more than a hologram projected by the staff, Seed of Sunrise. She's... not even there.
Riventon's words are met with a deeply disappointed frown. "These Lost Logia were the keys to my seal. Technically, they belong to the TSAB. They are each dangerous in their own way, but they're of no concern. They will be destroyed along with this planet."
"However, I can tell your threats are not empty. So I will not treat them as such. If you intend to spend your last moments fighting, then I will accommodate you."
Seed of Sunrise announces <Apocalypse Rain>, and the large magical sphere above glows brightly for a moment.
Thousands of fireballs fall from the sphere above, raining literal fire all over the harbor and surrounding area. The magical warriors gathered around are each targeted and endangered by the flames.
- Lena Reiniger has posed:
"I was not part of the Bureau when you were sealed. It has been a long time, and I assure you that even with a TSAB presence on this world, it is an Unadministrated World. We are only here to collect some Lost Logia that have accidentally found their way here," she continues, thinking that if she only just keeps talking that she might find some way to talk the woman down. Well, even if she isn't, she's got at least some small plan on attack in mind--however fruitless it might end up being.
She looks up at the growing orb of fire and shakes her head. This is not a world threatening Lost Logia she was prepared to handle. Jewel Seeds and the Book of Darkness were known, they were briefed about them. She's really going to give it to the higher ups when she finally makes it back to Midchilda about not keeping people in the know about everything they've done in the past! But back to Koto Miara. "Please, let's just talk about th--"
There's a familiar voice. It stops her right in her tracks and she can only look over her shoulder at Riventon. The expression on her face says it all 'now is not the time for this' mixed with what might be mild annoyance. Well, she has a right to be annoyed at someone that's making an already bad situation worse!
<Eingehende Hochtemperatur-Angriff!> is all the warning Ascalon gives. But it is more than enough to snap Lena's attention up to the approaching ball of fire.
"Ascalon... load cartridge!" Her device gives a loud ping before the cylinder on her left arm begins rotating back before slamming forward. Steam exhausts out behind it and down the length of her arm as a spike of magical energy surges through her. Both hands come up as a field of violet light cloaks her, expanding outward to meet the assault of fire.
<PANZERGEIST!> comes the familiar name of the spell as Lena channels all she has into defense to do her best at tanking an attack she's probably ill-equipped to handle! And, in fact, she might well be right for the fireballs crash into her and push her down, meeting the ground before there's an explosion of fire.
- Shiori Sato has posed:
Akahana was prepared for something of the sort. And as the fire begins to rain down, he's on the move. He really has no way to reach the thing in the sky, whatever it is. So for his part, Akahana begins to find his way to the fires, trying to put them out as best as he can. The battle is happening near water, and he can flash-step and super-leap, so Akahana finds something to carry water in and gets to work.
The fires farther out will be harder to get to, but while everyone else deals with the thing in the sky, he can at least TRY to keep the collateral damage down to a minimum anyway. hopefully the others will be enough to deal with that... woman. He's got his doubts, but he can deal with the fires in the meantime. And the normals that might be caught in the way and endangered by whatever's happening.
- Yurei Shisha (105) has posed:
Yurei isn't brave, not in the least. In fact, if anything he's really stupid for getting this close to something so dangerous without any kind of protection. He looks up at her, "But as a deity, please you must show mercy upon this planet. We have done nothing to deserve this wrath, take us if you will. Let us be your sacrifices if you must have compensation, but do not destroy this world, do not kill those that have done no wrong. Those, that have dreams, and those that simply wish to enjoy lives. They have done nothing to deserve your scorn, I beg of you." HE claps his hands together and bows his head, maybe she will will take some small mercy on them, but probably not.
Thouggh as the fireballs come flying out, he quickly grabs an Ofuda and whips up a fast protection spell, it wont protect him completely but least it will prevent him from being incinerated if one should impact him. Seeing as how it really wont help him, he begins moving, running and dodging to get away from super-heated balls of incineration, good thing he doesn't spend his days all the time in temple and has some activity in life.
As they say, fight fire with fire and why not eh? He pulls out another Ofuda and aims it at a few balls coming towards him and launches his own magical fire back at them, even if it does nothing it'll give him a few precious seconds to defend or prepare himself for the incoming of more of them.
- Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
Others are already talking to the new person who isn't really there. That's okay. It doesn't look like she's in a mood to listen to them anyway. People like that never are. There were cases in the Belkan Wars where... well, that's a story for another time. Suffice to say, once someone's mind is made up, it can be fantastically hard to change.
Especially when the fireballs are already flying, <<FLIEGERBLITZEN!>> announced Carnwennan, and Mikoto's flight takes on the kind of insane zigzag path anyone who's watched Macross would recognize. She zips from side to side as she closes in, occasional flashes of a Round Shield coming into view when she gets too close to one of the passing fireballs.
All of Mikoto's real focus, however, is on that growing fireball that is Koto's staff, her plan already coming together. It's possible, just barely, that Lena and Riventon will be able to convince her to stop the attack. But if they can't, then someone's going to need to make sure it doesn't destroy the entire district. And that means finding a way to redirect that energy.
- Haruna Kurosawa has posed:
Cure Gull eyes go wide as fire and fireballs fill the air. She begins darting and spins around side ways as the girl talks..... She looks down. What's going on... is... is she going to destroy the Earth!? Where's Kami-Sama!? He came out... when she threatend the Earth! But. He also felt responsible for that. This. This isn't like that all. Blue did always say he trusted the defenders of Tokyo more to handle things.
She clenches her teeth. "GULL WINDY PUNCHING!" she calls out and then throws a swirl of wind and feathers down into the figure.
"Gull...I...." Corvus begins to pass out...! After she throws out the attack she zooms downwards and finds a spot under an Aircondition vent to place the Silver Bird...
"Corvus.... I'll do my best!" she says as she zooms off. Corvus closes his eyes. This is pretty much horrible for him to deal with.
- Takashi Agera has posed:
Riventon looks at Mikoto. "It's not going to be a fight. It's going to be an obliteration." he says, though inwardly he's becoming somewhat concerned about the heat he's feeling and the power Axion is still alterting him to. "Give me the staff!" he says - but before he can launch his attack, Mikoto launches hers, and the rain of fire begins! A massive fireball shoots down from the sky and is only barely held off by a quick Round Shield. The shield cracks from the impact though and has to be dispelled, and more are coming!
"Axion, guard spheres!" he yells at his device, and two black orbs detach from his gauntlet, spinning around him and shooting out rays of black energy at any nearby fireballs, essentially running air-defense.
"Now, as I was saying! Give me the staff! =Black Plasma Shot!= calls the device, and from Riventon's outstretched hand fires two black orbs, spinning through the air towards Koto, ready to detonate with terrible energy on impact!
- Tin Roof Sundae (94) has posed:
Koto shakes her head at Lena. "I wish it were as simple as believing you, but the process has already been set into motion. It has been determined that this is a TSAB Administered world that was unknown at the time of my sealing. Even if there are are many Lost Logia on this world, you can take comfort in knowing that they will all be either destroyed or rendered inaccessible. After all..."
"The purpose of the Seed of Sunrise... is to either bring a dead star back to life, or to turn a planet into a star."
It's not hard to guess from the context which one she intends to do this night.
Akahana's efforts are met with limited success. Koto doesn't directly oppose him, but the simple fact is that the fires start faster than he can put them out. Moving the civilians, on the othe rhand, is a simple matter of picking them up or dragging them away. They are unconscious, but aside from that nothing is stopping Akahana.
Efforts to shield against the flames are mostly successful, as are efforts to cancel out fire with fire. However, what the fire lacks in quality, they make up for quantity. It wouldn't be impossible for her to truly cover the world with fire, the way that large sphere of flame is growing above them.
Koto turns to Yurei, and says, "If you're trying to appeal to my heart, I regret to inform you that I do not have one. The real Koto Miata is long dead. Though I also call myself Koto, it would be more accurate to say that I am the embodiment of her last wishes. Weep for your dreams. They will not come true."
Mikoto's planning has both an upside but also a severe problem. The good news is that Outer Space is straight upwards, so if the energy can be redirected at all then there's a clear path for it to go. The bad news is that there is just so much power that it would be very difficult to redirect literally all of that. Rising Crash certainly doesn't have enough capacity for it, though there are still two Lost Logia present with unknown purpose, and these five Lost Logia must have been used to seal her up somehow..
Cure Gull's attack impacts against Koto Miata, wind and feathers crashing into her shield powered by Gull's own heart. It's a strong attack, to be sure, and Koto's image blurs and statics for a moment before stabilizing, but Koto Miata's defenses are only just barely dented. It works, but it will take a sustained magical assault to really defeat her that way. Riventon's black orbs smash against her, making further progress and having similar results.
Koto frowns as she notices her defences being penetrated. "I underestimated you, but I shall not fail."
<Solar Guard>
A ring of fire surrounds Koto, creating a magical barrier that protects her further from magical power.
"Raging Cannon!"
<Of Course>
She extends the staff in front of her, and the neck extends. She aims the cannon at Riventon and Cure Gull, firing a single shot at each of them. The burning orange projectile is as big as they are, and thousands of small blazing mana bullets fire from each one, intended to pelt each target with small fire before smashing into them with a single big blast.
The large flaming globe above them grows ever larger. It's difficult to look at without being blinded.
- Lena Reiniger has posed:
There's only smoke coming from where Lena and those orbs of fire impacted. It doesn't really seem like she managed all that well. But then... there's words. Something said that basically gives her the okay to do what she will. 'The real Koto Miata is long dead.' So what's sitting there isn't a person. So then there's no need to worry about needlessly hurting someone.
A light begins to shine from within that billowing smoke before it parts, pushed aside by the rushing torrent of magic shooting from within it. A searing beam of violet light aimed right at that which calls itself Koto Miata. It's not got the backing of all the mana Lena can link, but it definite isn't something a person wants to get hit with.
She rises from the ground, looking for the most part alright, if only a bit worse than she started out. Scuffed and with a few scrapes here and there, it seems that her Panzergeist took the attack well. Her helm is restored to her head, shrouding her face from view as she becomes a knight once more. Ascalon pings out, calling to the device known as the Seed of Sunrise. <Stoppen oder werden versiegelt!>
"It's no use talking, Ascalon. We're destroying this thing." Her voice is calm, perhaps too calm. A deep breath as she slams her fists together in front of her and shoots toward Koto Miata, magic pooling into her body, enhancing it with newfound strength and durability. If she's a Midchildan mage, the best option is simply to get in close where Mid magic is at its weakest!
- Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
Okay. So, Mikoto's not going to be able to run this completely alone. It's going to take ... a lot. And there are several Lost Logia that are not currently in use, apparently. Time to go check them out. And dodge. A lot. Good thing Riventon and Lena are there to soak up most of Koto's attention. And firepower.
She zip-zag's up to the orbiting artifacts, trying to minimize her power signature so as not to draw Koto's attention. It wouldn't do to get blown away before she can even get her plan started. It's a good thing Carnwennan was designed for Stealthy Commando Hax, isn't it?
Fortunately, it doesn't seem as if Koto is paying much attention to the formerly-sealing Logia. Mikoto has no idea how long that happy state will last, however, so she's got Carnwennan's sensors on full, absorbing as much information as she can about the relics. If nothing else, she might be able to use one or more to power a deflection shield. Best case, she can figure out how to restore the seal and lock Koto away again... with an awful lot of luck.
- Yurei Shisha (105) has posed:
Yurei looks back at Koto as she peaks, he only sighs, he had hoped it would work but it does not. All he can do, is shudder a little at the last moments of their life, he turns to look back at her, "Even if you are not a living being anymore, you know and understand. You are this person, you have her thoughts, emotions, feelings. I beg of you one last time, please stop this at once! I cannot allow this world to be destroyed, I cannot allow those here upon this world to be harmed. If you don't disengage your destruction, you will force me to do something... something I cannot, and wish not to happen. But, if it is all that can be done to stop you, then so be it I will do it. I only warn you, that when it happens, you asked for it."
He pulls out an Ofuda, not one ones like the others, this one begins to glow a black color that just eminates a darkness, a black flame that is most certainly not holy or priestly. He holds it as he dodges more firebals, hoping that amongst all hope that this being will stop their attack on the world itself. For he cares not if those there die, they are meant to sacrifice for the greater good, but the ones not like them, do not deserve the pain of this destruction.

Cure Gull has to raise a shield of blown feathers. This doesn't work. She gets hit and this causes her to spiral downwards and hit the ground. Nrg. That hurt. She gets up though. She needs to light her wings back up, and they do. Bright, green, translucent. She rockets back upwards......
She tries to get closer to the hologram. Not real? She may not understand that but....
She tries to get close. Maybe uncomfortably close. She stops getting close when things start to burn.
Wishes..... she looks down a moment, then back up.
"Is that really her last wish......?" she asks softly to the hologram.
She sees Yurei as he does his best... that priest again. It makes her smile a little.

Lena's violet beam meets Koto's Solar Guard, pressing against Koto's shield. It's a brutal attack, and Koto's eyes close as she focuses on simultaniously pushing back the shot and gathering the energy above her. After a moment, her sheild fails, the Solar Guard buckling under Lena's pressure.
Lena can get within melee range, no problem. However, when she does, Koto opens her eyes to look at her, and a ring of fire reaches outward, lashing at Lena with magical flames. The heat at this range is intense, but fortunately Koto is saving up most of her magic for the large world-ending fireball above her.
Mikoto's efforts go unnoticed. Koto Miata, perhaps overconfidently, doesn't consider Mikoto to be a threat as long as she isn't attacking directly. She gets plenty of opportunity to look at them.
The five Lost Logia, as far as quick scans can reveal, are as such:
Sealing Chains is a Lost Logia that is very good at using magic that is not unlike Chain Bind except on a massive scale.
Labyrinth Architect is the one Mikoto saw the other day, capable of creating large, powerful barriers. The barriers were quite powerful and large, actually.
Rising Crash is capable of storing a lot of mana. It wont hold nearly as much as it would need to in order to actually contain that large fireball, but it would be enough power for a mage to produce a powerful spell.
Starlight Wish is a strange one, and one of the first two unknowns. It's capable of creating a pocket dimension, and that dimension would certainly be large enough to handle what Koto Miata is pouring out. The problem, however, is that while Starlight Wish can certainly contain that level of power, it has no means of transporting thigns into the pocket dimension by itself.
Unity Loop is the other unknown. It is a unique Lost Logia in that it is capable of combining the power of several mages together. It's created specifically for teamwork spells.
It's unclear what the exact spell was that actually sealed her away, but the components are there, minus the original casters.
Yurei's words are again responded to, and Koto states, "I understand her emotions, yes. I understand Koto's loss... her rage... her helplessness. Her sister, Mira, was innocent. She was forced to assist criminals, and Koto was used as the hostage. When the TSAB came to stop them, Mira was not rescued. Instead, she left to die, while the TSAB elected to save their own. Mira was abandoned, and there was nothing Koto could do about it. That's what I remember about Koto's emotions."
Koto spares a sideways glance at the dark glowing ofuda, and then looks back at Yurei. "If you intend to fight, then so be it, but I will not be stopped. My program must be complete. There is no choice here."
Cure Gull can get within about 5 meters of Koto before the fire gets really intense. Fortunately most of the heat comes from the fireball above and not Koto herself. She pauses at Gull's question, her soft gaze studying the pretty cure. "If Koto could've had anything, it would be to get her sister back... but she couldn't have that, so she settled for revenge."
No, she's not aware of the irony of telling that story to Cure Gull.
Koto raises Seed of Sunrise in front of her, and the device declares <Judgement Day>. Diving towards the ground, Koto strikes the dirt with the tip of her staff, and a powerful magic spreads from that area. The ground begins to glow red, and the glow spreads all over the harbor, the surrounding coast, and the area that the heroes (and Riventon) are standing on. The ground is heated up, but that isn't the real source of damage.
The real source of damage comes from the large pillars of flame that erupt from the ground. The pillars reach high up into the sky, even attacking aerial targets along with them. Each pillar is brutally powerful, and many of them are haphazardly placed.
The glowing orb above has finally grown so bright that it's starting to wash out all color in the area. If it's going to be stopped, it needs to be pretty soon!
- Takashi Agera has posed:
When the pillars of fire erupt, Riventon is still getting up from the effects of Koto's last attack! The giant fireball slammed into him, as offensively minded as he was, and the shield Axion can put up in a panic doesn't match his own focused defense. While the barrier held a lot of the magical force of the orbs, the raw kinetic energy they unleashed upon contact with the shield sent him a good ways back and into a wall. As the ground erupts in flames, Riventon is staggering to his feet, a hand on his head.
==You appear to be injured.== Axion chirps, just as Riventon makes a shadowy-dodge away from an erupting fire pillar! "Medical care can wait, this power needs to belong to me!" he says, angrily, refusing to accept the hit he just took - at least accept it psychologically, even as his body cries out.
=Shadow Beam.= Calls the device as a sustained burst of negative energy erupts out of Riventon's hand, cutting through the air and still trying to strike at 'Koto' - most specifically, the hands that hold the Seed of Sunrise.
- Lena Reiniger has posed:
So close, she's about to make her attack, but then that ring of fire appears and Lena has to alter her path, shooting to the side of Koto to avoid being burned. She turns back toward her target, but she approaches a bit more slowly, waiting to see what's going to come her way. Eyes dart to the others gathered around, and it seems they've got their own issues with being targeted by this absurd... whatever it is. It's like the Book of Darkness except... minus the darkness, and definitely not from Belka. Someone much more recently made this thing.
And then there's the sob story. Lena's eye twitches a bit as she hears it. Revenge on this scale for the death of one person? Even if a loved one, this is unacceptable. Memories come back to her. Unpleasant memories. A sad man she'd thought was a hero. A hypocrite preaching the virtues of their family and their knightly oaths. But still a man she loved, even if she couldn't respect him. "You're not the only one that's lost things..." she whispers.
She looks upon the destruction being wrought and frowns. She turns her attention up to the sphere of fire and the Lost Logia and... who is that? Ascalon pings, letting her know that he has detected a device up there. "Contact it," she says.
<Jawohl!> comes the mechanical voice of her device before it goes about the process of first opening communication with Mikoto's device so a relay between them can be set up, and then patching Lena through.
"This is first lieutenant Lena Reiniger of the TSAB naval force to the unidentified owner of this device. Whatever plan you're cooking up, give me the details. I'll offer full support." It's quick and to the point and though she leaves the line open, nothing more is said. Instead Lena is heading down for that device of Koto's. Fingers on her right hand flex as the cylinder on that arm rotates back, loading a second cartridge. Energy builds within her, forcing its way from her Linker Core through her body and to that fist. Once more unto the breach, Righty? Don't break this time.
Lena comes up a bit short, an orb of light building in front of her... and then she slams her fist into it, launching it directly at the Seed of Sunrise. The air crackles with power as it passes. The ground begins to warp just a bit as it draws closer, breaking apart here and there. Riventon has seen this before, the spell Lena used on Ms. White back during that first Lost Logia scuffle they had.
And Ascalon's voice rings out. <Panzermoerder!>

Cure Gull flys backwards....she needs to deal with flame pillars first. She manages to evade...but...
'To get her sister back...'
It makes her hurt inside. It wasn't really all that long ago when she was stealing souls... brimming with dark magic and that feeling she'd never see her sister again.
She gets back close again. "I...I know what it's like....to loose your sister. You feel dead inside. You'd be willing to do anything... hurt people...destroy worlds...." she says. She doesn't look down. She tries her best to stare through this thing.
"I became something horrible to try to bring my sister back from the dead... but all I did. Was hurt everyone. Even if... I coulda wished my sister back. I don't think she'd think much of me with all I sacrafied to bring her back. This... this won't bring your sister back.... I don't think... your sister would want this! You need to... be stopped!" she says pleadingly.
Gull may have a subconcious understanding of how Device users solve friends problems though. Because the next thing she does is raise her hand up. "Gull Windy Torando!" she calls out and throws out a vicious cyclone of air and feathers out that seem to orginate from around her fist.

Those things floating around Koto... they have to be for something. And that ball of energy's getting too big to do anything with. It's going to destroy the city if something's not done. But there's to much fire to get to it the normal way. So Akahana heads for the water instead. He doesn't jump in and swim, no. His foot leaves the water...
And doesn't go through the surface of the water.
He leans forward and strides across the water, long, leaping strides, until he comes to a water level buoy in the water. Somehow he balances on it, and is not heavy enough to disturb it beyond a slight dip. He knows Lena, so he calls up to her, "How can I help?"
- Yurei Shisha (105) has posed:
Yurei listens as the Koto image speaks, tears begin falling from his eyes. But is he tearing by what she said, or what he's about to do, who can say, but he simple nods. Well, that is what it is then, he has no other choice. He brings the black Ofuda to his head and places it upon him, taking a deep breath as he does, his other hand shooting out and holding a stoping motion
"AKUMA! I call you forth. Release the shackls and be unbound. Come forth and rain down your vengeance against our enemies!"
And just like that, the Ofuda on his head quite litteraly explodes in a black fireball arond him, the equally black smoke sucks around him forming a ball that begins to grown and grow obscenely large in every direction as it reaches almost three times the distance it is then sucked into the middle and vanishes and where once the small priest stood, now stands a mighty blueish hued Oni, wearing an obisidian colored loincloth.
%tAkuma looks around, and just laughs, like he was brought out for some lame joke that he needed not hear, "Really? He brings me out for this? For some fire, and some small ants. I expected something of importance." But he shrugs, then grins at Koto, "Well, he did say I could come out and play, so I am going to do just that." He then bounds towards Koto, grining and bearing his teeth wide as he raises a fist to punch at her guards, and invertly running through a flaming pillar, that only seems to stop him a moment as he notices it got hot, not caring that the finner cinched his skin or his loincloth. For at the moment, he's going to enjoy himself and if he has to be incinerated for it, then so be it!
Akuma doesn't even care if he hits, destroys, or squishes, all he cares about is that he's stretching his legs and if he happens to destroy a building or three, well to bad then they got in the way. HE's gonna enjoy every moment of this outing, and punching things will most certainly help with that, and if he knocks this hologram out of existance, it means he can find other things to punch as well!.

<<Communications request received from unregistered device 'Ascalon', Master,>> Carnwennan informs Mikoto. "Ascalon?" the girl muses, blinking a couple of times. She's almost worked out how the trap is -supposed- to work. The key is making it actually happen, and preventing Koto from reopening it again from the other side. Not an easy task, especially when multiple 'Lost Logia' are involved. (Of course, for all she knows, they might have been commonly-identifiable constructs in Carnwennan's active days, a thousand years ago. If they are it'd be nice if the Device would let her know.)
"Play transmission," she murmurs, and the Device plays back Lena's call for her. "Open channel," Mikoto adds. "This is Tessen, of the Centai Zel," she introduces herself. "I have two possibilities here. One is a parabolic barrier to deflect her worldkiller, the other is to re-invoke the seal she was trapped in. Any data you have on the 'Logia' would be appreciated." It is, perhaps, presumptive of her to claim allegiance to the knightly order once served by her predecessor, but it just feels ... right.
She continues gathering her own data, working out how the Logia's purposes could interact, and what talents would be needed to activate each in the appropriate manner. It doesn't look easy. But then, nothing worthwhile ever is.
It's too bad, really. Vengeance for the dead is certainly something Mikoto understands. To live under the same sky as your sister's killer... well. The problem is that this -isn't- the same sky, and this world is not part of whatever this 'TSAB' is. So she's already considered and dismissed Koto's irrational motivation, and is ready to proceed as soon as her plan is complete.
- Tin Roof Sundae (94) has posed:
Riventon's attacks hit home. Koto hasn't made a single attempt to dodge this whole time, actually. However, hitting the holographic hands that hold the Seed of Sunrise means attacking the staff itself. Koto seems to cringe in physical pain as the staff is attacked, far more physical pain than she's shown this whole night. Well, at least from the attack itself.
She does not, however, drop the staff. Amazingly, it wont fall from her grip.
"Coveting the power that would destroy you?" Koto Miata frowns at Riventon. "You should be accepting the impermanence of your life, not seeking what you'll never survive to have."
Lena's words are heard, and Koto says, "You're right. I am not the only one who has suffered. A lot of people have suffered..."
"... at the hands of the TSAB."
Koto pauses before continuing. "It's not enough for you to pay for one crime. You must pay for all of them. You, First Lieutenant, have no moral high gr-"
Koto's attempt to justify herself is cut off as Lena's attack goes after the staff itself. After already enduring Riventon's attack, the cartridge powered super-punch causes the staff to crack. Uncontrolled heat and magical fire pour out of that crack, and the magic above begins to roar and pulse irregularly. Koto looks physically weakened, but her voice remains as firm as ever. "It's futile. At this point, even if I lose control of the device, the gathered power will still destroy you."
Cure Gull's attack hits home. Koto Miata seems to actually be breaking at this point. Her image is distorted, and occasionally fades into static, revealing the Seed of Sunrise floating by itself. "What Mira would want...? ..." Koto ponders that for a moment. Cure Gull doesn't get attacked back. Koto is clearly thinking about it... though it's kindof inhuman, how she just ignores the pain that she should be feeling right now. Akuma's attack follows up, and the hologram fades for good this time. The Seed of Sunrise is left alone, floating by itself and damaged, though clearly the spell is still being cast.
Akahana's waterwalking gets him closer to the Lost Logia, certainly. Koto still seems to have not noticed him. This is lucky for him, because a team effort stands a good chance of resolving the situation.
Unfortunately for Mikoto, the Lost Logia are strange and not seemingly from any easily recognizable place. They aren't Midchildian or Belkan, instead they're likely just from random other magical civilizations that are long-lost.
Fortunately the lack of that knowledge wont stop her from making use of them. The Lost Logia, in their current state, will seemingly accept verbal commands like a common Device would. That feature looks like it may have been a recent addition made by Midchildian scientists. Another way to use them is to channel mana into them. They'll telepathically read the user's intentions and use the mana accordingly. However, due to their nature, it would be difficult for a single mage to cast the spell alone. It's likely that multiple mages were needed, and that's what Unity Loop was for.
- Tin Roof Sundae (94) has posed:
As Mikoto is poking around, another message is sent to her device, sent from Unity Loop. Lena might recognize the voice as being the same woman in the holo-recording she saw before. "In case it becomes relevant again, the exact method for sealing Koto Miata was as follows: First we bound her with Sealing Chains, and surrounded her with Labyrinth Architect's barriers so that she couldn't use her powers. Then we dragged the barrier and Koto into a pocket dimension made by Starlight Wish. Unity Loop was used to help people pool their resources, and Rising Crash was used to help power the other Lost Logia. We used five mages for this. It may be possible to repeat it with fewer, but it's a risk."
"In an emergency, one could theoretically use Labyrinth Architect's barriers to funnel the Seed of Sunrise's powerful magic into Starlight Wish's portal, but we've never tested that theory."
Someone put a lot of thought into trying to prevent exactly this problem.
The Seed of Sunrise announces, <Fallen Genesis>, and the large flaming sphere above begins to descend. The Seed of Sunrise flares out one last time, finally defeated by the magical forces gathered today and burning itself out in its last, vengeful attack. Flames pour out from the cracks across its frame and it shatters.
It might be repairable... but who would want to?!
- Takashi Agera has posed:
Riventon grimaces. He might not be much for heroic antics, but he's pretty heavily inclined towards survival. "We can't let that thing do it's work." he adds, stating the obvious. "It's a shame to destroy a magical marvel like this, but not if it plans to destroy me first!" His two smaller orbs dive in, cycling around Koto, firing small blasts at the Scepter to keep her fragmented and out of control. "So if one of you folks has a plan, let me know." He still plans to take the lost logia with him afterwords, but right now... even he can be convinced to see a change in priorities.
- Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
Mikoto listens attentively to the long-ago mage's contingency instructions, making mental notes. It -can- be done, she finally agrees, and with the Device broken there's little chance of another being cast. All that's left is to deal with the massive, world-ending explosion that's about to go off.
"Lieutenant Reninger? I believe the parabolic deflection will be our best choice at this point. One of these Logia is capable of extremely powerful barriers, and another opens portals to a subspace pocket. We can use those in combination, fueled by the others, to divert the blast. If you can call on any reinforcements, yesterday's the time."
She doesn't wait for a reply, but instructs Carnwennan to open a channel to any other Devices in the area. Except Seed of Sunrise, of course. "Attention everyone who is interested in life on this planet continuing to exist...." Explaining her plan again is the work of seconds, fortunately, with Device-moderated telepathy. As is setting up a few little contingencies of her own.
- Lena Reiniger has posed:
Too late? Lena frowns as the device seems to complete its mission with its final death throes. She looks up at the falling... sun, for what else could it be called at this point. Her eyes narrow and her helm's visor darkens to protect her eyes from the light it gives off. Well... this is definitely not how she had planned on dying. "You'd have to burn your life away to put enough magic in that thing to stop it..." she comments. Though it's about this point that she hears the message from that woman of the past. She can't help but smile at the timing of it all and shakes her head. "Or pool resources."
She looks around at everyone gathered before heading back over to the Lost Logia and to Mikoto and Akahana. Settling down with them, she looks over the resources they have at hand. "Well... sealing isn't necessary, so we just need to get enough mana together to deal with that," she says while pointing up to the End Times. She gives Mikoto a look, though it's hard to know what Lena is thinking with her face hidden behind that helm. A Belkan device? Well... things like Belkan devices and old knightly orders can be worried about later, if ever. Honestly, Lena's ready to just accept that people are either getting their hands on Belkan magic or are from Belka.
She then regards the Lost Logia and the cartridge cylinders on her arms. "I've got ten cartridges left. That might be able to make up the difference if we don't have enough people that can power the Lost Logia." She doesn't sound exactly thrilled to do something like that, though, but... "It's the best I've got."
She looks over to Akahana and shrugs, trying to decide how best to explain it. "We're going to power up these artifacts and use them to warp space so that thing gets moved into... basically another dimension. Any mana you're willing to offer up would be helpful."

Corvus suddenly goes all weird and rigid and his tail feathers go up and there's this kinda weird squeaky static sound you hear when you try to tune an old radio.
She hears Mikoto's message over it as she blinks. "Um...okay!" she says.
Also Corvus relaxes. Gull flies toward's Mikoto.
"Uh...hi! Whatda we need to do to not destroy the earth and save it?"
"Kami-sami is going to be /so upset/ with me if I let that happen!" she says worried.

Akuma flies through his punch and lands on the other side, grinning, yeah he didn't actually damage anything but damn that felt good. He turns and looks up at the descending fireball, "IF anyone's going to destroy this world, it will be ME! You hear me, ME! Not some magical girl with whiney illusions of her dead sister. I am Akuma! I am the god of destruction, and I will not be hampered by a mere fireball. Get over yourself girl, if you want to destroy the TSAB, then go to their home world and do it, quit pissing off everyone else in the process." muttering and grumbling, damned constructs think they do his job for him, he doesn't need them to do it. He is more then capable of destroying the world, when not chained down by a small teenaged boy that is.
Looks at the assorted others around, yeah an instant dislike for all of them, for various reasons. He grunts, and doesn't even acknowledge anything, he just raises a fist back, charges forward, after a dozen paces he jumps into the air aiming straight for the giant fireball, hell it's all he can do, fight or die he will go out fighting. He pushes his fist out to slam into the fireball as he jumps high, "Gigaspunch!" and there he goes, he's gonna pound that thing or make that Fireball scream owwie owwie! If fireballs could scream out in pain that is.
He apperntly hears the conversation from the girl, but is in the middle of his attack, and probably doesn't right care either way. If he manages to stay alive, or even retain enough power after pushing everything into this attack, he'll perhaps help them then, but right now, too late.

Lena's explanation is good enough for Akahana. He nods. Does he need to touch one of the Lost Logia? he will if he needs to. Hopefully Lena will make whatever further explanations that will be necessary. Akahana will follow them, whatever he has to do. But he doesn't just open up to giving his mana to the Lost Logia. No, that would hardly be enough. He looks deeper than himself.
('Akahana. I really need your help. I don't know if I can do this alone...') He looks up at the fireball... coming down at the earth... it's going to destroy them all if they don't do something... ('Akahana, please...')
('I am here. I am always here. Let's go.')
In the present, Akahana nods, feeling the strength from his past life blossom within him. "Whatever power I have, it is yours." It's unclear who he's talking to. But every bit of mana that the ninja boy has available is offered to whichever of the Lost Logia is closest. If he has to touch the Logia to offer it his mana, he will.
And as he channels all the mana he can, an image flickers. Superimposed over him is the image of... another person? It looks like a shadow of someone with long hair... slimmer than the boy here. It almost looks... female? Surely not...
- Tin Roof Sundae (94) has posed:
Akuma's fist goes into the large falling sun, and the entire globe ripples with the sheer power of the impact. The punch stops the descent for a moment, even causing the large fireball to fly back upwards for a bit... before it starts falling back down again. The sheer heat that Akuma is facing at this range would probably destroy a normal person, but magical powers are able to at least mitigate the damage down to non-lethal levels.
The others coordinate. Koto Miata is kept down and out of the fight by Riventon's magic attacks, leaving the others with time to plan their next move.
The sun continues to fall closer to the harbor, and the water begins to turn into steam. The sand turns into glass. The heat is unbearable. Stopping it now is a good idea.
Unity Loop was apparently listening to Mikoto's plan, because it pings in response. <Spell Loaded. Please provide mana, energy, or whatever form of magical power is convenient!> . It's a very understanding and accepting Lost Logia. When Akahana offers his mana, it's probably Unity Loop that accepts it. Unity Loop is probably the best bet for people wanting to pour their magic into it.
Links form between Unity Loop, Rising Crash, Labyrinth Architect, Sealing Chains, and Starlight Wish, as Unity Loop coordinates the magical power according to the wishes of those present. It's responding to their desires.
<Don't worry! Together, we can win this!> Unity Loop robotic voice almost sounds cheerful.
- Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
Mikoto nods and flashes her little smile. "Alright, everyone, this is going to take careful timing." She positions herself at Sealing Chains, letting others take up whatever position they feel they'd be best at. "Everyone feed in what energy you can; if you've got cartridges, now's the time to use 'em. We'll want Labyrinth Architect's barrier up first, then Starlight Wish's portal, okay?" The plan is fairly simple, a multi-layered parabolic barrier to deflect the blast, with the subspace portal to absorb the energy so it doesn't end up doing things like perturbing Earth's orbital path.
She doesn't mention her private contingency, of course. Some things are better left unspoken. And some - ie, most - Lost Logia are too dangerous to leave in the hands of, well, -anyone-, especially ones that have been tampered with by Mad Scientists.
It probably doesn't help that the group includes at least /two/ certified megalomaniacs.
- Haruna Kurosawa has posed:
These are all those big words. There they go flying over Cure Gull's head. Huh?
Oh! Feed it energy! Okay. Um.....
She claps her PreBrace-- the pink heart shaped device on her wrist, and begins spinning her hands. It's a lot like if she was doing a Hopeful Feather Shoot! Only, she didn't call out the name, so what happens instead, is a brillaint ball of Seafoam Green energy is built around her head. It's most of her mana. Not all. She can't help if she's super tired after this.... she knows what that got Cure Tide...
She gently punts the ball of energy like a beachball, upwards at the device to help feed Unity Loop.
- Yurei Shisha (105) has posed:
Akuma hits the giant sun hard, enough for a few precious moments for the others to act hopefully and do something to protect the world. He did his job, and now has a really nice tan, ok maybe a really vicious sunburn, good think he's an Oni and he will heal for the most part from this. He isn't sure about Yurei though, he might suffer from some after effects, but eh he'll live.
He falls as he exerted his energy to just slow this thing down, it's not easy pushing back a sun ya know. So fall he does, hey that's the ground coming up really fast and ooh hi grou.... CRASH he slams into the ground, and causing a nice shake and a hole to crunch into leaving cracks spreading out from where he landed. Now he stares up, looking at the slowly moving again sun, glancing an eye over to see what the others are doing. Good, they are gathering and might be stopping it, he'll have to remember to let them be when the day comes he is in the position to destroy the world himself.
- Lena Reiniger has posed:
It's a simple thing, really. I mean, who doesn't warp space in their down time, right? What could possibly be complicated about catching a nacent star in folded space before tossing it literally out of the universe? Mikoto makes it sound so simple. It's enough to make Lena chuckle. She'll trust that her new companion knows what she's doing and follow her lead. With Akuma on fireball duty and Riventon on Seed of Sunrise duty, they've got the four to split among five Lost Logia, so she'll just make up the difference until one of the other two gets a spare moment.
Lena takes up position between two of the Lost Logia and takes a deep breath. This is not going to do her body any favors but... "Ascalon, load the remaining four in the right cylinder." There's a ping from her device, and Mikoto's device might pick up on Ascalon's being firmly against such a request, but whatever protest he might have is silenced fairly quickly. "Load cartridge!" And so the cylinder on her right arm spins back before hammering home four times in rapid succession. There's a spike in her Linker Core that definitely can't feel good, but it doesn't last very long before she's pouring all of that mana into the two Lost Logia before her.
- Shiori Sato has posed:
Unity Loop's encouragement gets a smile out of Akahana, hidden behind his mask. That's right. They will accomplish this. They have to, for the rest of the world. Shiori didn't pull those people out of danger only to have them all incinerated by a sun hitting the earth.
('The artifacts ask your desires, Shiori. Will the danger away! I will do the same.)
('Right. Let's do this.')
Mikoto's plan seems sound -- barrier, then portal. He nods. And then concentrates on that plan. While he and the former Akahana share the same higher soul, they have two different lower souls. Hopefully input -- and energy -- from both of them will make this better.
Shiori doesn't have a Device. But, proving that still waters run deep, Shiori offers not just his energy, but his feelings as well. Unity Loop seems relatively cheerful... perhaps if it or any of the other Lost Logia knew what was at stake, they'd be more apt to help.
He channels it all, from the love hs has for his family and friends at the top, all the way down to how much he likes the ice cream from that place with the beach theme that's so completely opposite of what they sell. Yes, he DOES love the whole world, what of it he knows, anyway. So let's save it!
- Takashi Agera has posed:
Riventon looks on. He got the plan via his device. And he's keeping track of everyone else, too... nothing in the system here seems to indicate this will come at the cost of the Lost Logia, and he still wants them. So, even as he is channeling his energy into Unity Loop, Axion pings.
He's preparing something, underhandedly, to swing any post-survival negotations in his direction. Presuming the Earth survives. It's pretty moot if it doesn't.
"Sorry, this planet and it's future are spoken for."
- Tin Roof Sundae (94) has posed:
The combined energy of everyone together is stored and set into motion. Mikoto's, Rivention's and Gull's energy, Lena's generous cartridge use, and Akuhana's deep feelings and power gathers together through the various Lost Logia. Unity Loop coordinates the spell, and Mikoto's plan is put into action.
Labyrinth Architect calls out, <Deflect Barrier> and a massive magical shield, large enough to dwarf the artificial sun, catches the falling star, bending inwards for a moment before pushing it away with incredible force.
Starlight wish calls out, <Gate Unlock>. Behind the sun, another massive portal opens, revealing nothing but blank darkness on the other side of it. The sun crosses the threshold, vanishing as the portal closes.
As suddenly as all of this disaster appeared, it seems to have vanished. Koto is more than defeated, and her hologram does not reappear. The ancient terror that was once sealed away has been stopped on a more permanent basis, and the Earth wont have to pay for crimes that it didn't commit.
There is a loud explosion heard, but not seen, as that massive sun explodes in a nearby dimension. Aside from the noise, Tokyo remains mostly unaffected. Even the fires that dotted the landscape gradually go out, the magic fueling them suddenly absent.
Mikoto's motives and intentions remain unknown, as do Riventon's. Certainly, letting just anyone have a Lost Logia is a bad idea in general, but there's also going to be a lot of competition over the Lost Logia themselves. It's probably impossible for any one person to get all of them.
But at least the main threat is over and you can afford to fight over Lost Logia again, right?

Cure Gull blinks, the pieces seperate... erk! She raises her hand out and sends out a stream of wind---reached up into the fray as she hops up and hovers on the wings that her bow turns into as she catches...one of them. It looks kinda like a future torus. She gently takes it into her hands and closes her eyes.....
"I hope you meet up again.....wherever you are..." she says kinda sadly. But... they world's safe!
She looks around....and before anyone can pick a fight with her...she's already done her 'stand of Seafoam green light' escaping off towards Pikarighako.
- Lena Reiniger has posed:
Everything is over. The threat to the world... well, one of them at least, for the Jewel Seeds and the Book of Darkness are still out there somewhere. Lena, however, is also over. Thoroughly exhausted and with her Linker Core screaming at her for such abuse, all she can really do is look over at Mikoto and Akahana before pitching forward. She's out before she's even halfway to the ground, given how she doesn't appear to be moving her arms to catch herself. Thankfully Ascalon has enough mana remaining on hand to keep her armor up to take the impact for her. And then her knight armor fades and she's left in a pair of jeans and a white tee, the bracer that is Ascalon sitting on her right arm, and clutched in her left hand... the Lost Logia that started this whole adventure for her, Sealing Chains.
So... Akahana... mind carrying a girl back to her apartment or something? After all, you're the only one here that knows where she lives, right?
- Shiori Sato has posed:
The danger seems past now, and that loud explosion is hopefully that fireball exploding somewhere that ISN'T on earth. Oh man Shiori hopes so.
The shadow of the ninja-girl with the long hair that had been superimposed over him fades away abruptly. Having given away He's so dizzy, and so very tired. There's no way he's keeping his balance on that buoy in this state.
Splash!
Thankfully Shiori is not afraid of water, and is a decent swimmer. And he can float on his back. Which he proceeds to do once he's surfaced from the splash into the water. He's looking up at the sky. Just looking up, letting his thoughts wander. There's a streak of seafoam green as Cure Gull flies away. It'd be nice to be able to fly. But ninjas don't fly, do they? Probably not.
There are no fireballs of doom descending from above. But there's something that is. Two things, in fact! One is Lena, and Akahana shifts in the water, somehow jumping back up out of the water as if he'd jumped off of a solid surface. He runs back over the water to where Lena's fallen, moving to assist her.
He's shifting Lena so he ca pick her up when something makes him look up. He doesn't know what. But suddenly a metallic glint shines in the sky, and a cylindrical shape hits him right in the forehead.
"OW!"
The impact bowls him over backwards, and he reaches up, the previous Akahana's training guiding him to grabbing the thing that hit him before he's hit a second time. He sits up, rubbing his forehead with a growl. "Hey, what the heck...?!" He pauses. Looks at the thing in his hand. He's... not quite sure what it is, actually.
But finding that out can come later, Lena's hurt. And Shiori's not completely convinced that the remaining people here aren't dangerous. Particularly the one that said something about destroying the world, and the one that said something about claiming the world. So he puts the cylindrical thing in a pocket or pouch, and then makes to pick Lena up and get out of there, with what strength he has left.
Here's hoping he doesn't de-henshin on a random roof somewhere again...
- Mikoto Nakajima has posed:
Mikoto smiles again, just to herself, this time, as she tucks Labyrinth Architect away in her pocket. She'd been half afraid someone was going to try to walk off with all of the Logia. She'd have hated to have to use that particular Contingency, but it would've been necessary, in that event. "Well. Glad that worked out," she says, and stays long enough to make sure no one is about to fall out of the sky and break their neck.
And then Lena -does- fall, but she's caught safely, so Mikoto decides she's done her good deed for the night. She'll look the Lieutenant up later and see what this 'TSAB' thing is all about. It ought to be interesting, if nothing else. But for now... it's time to go home.
